Opis:
The results of experimental comparison between several neural architectures for short-term chaotic time series prediction problem are presented. Selected feed-forward architectures (Multi-layer Perceptrons) are compared with the most popular recurrent ones (Elman, extended Elman, and Jordan) on the basis prediction accuracy, training time requirements and stability. The application domain is logistic map series - the well known chaotic time series predition benchmark problem. Simulation results suggest that in terms of prediction accuracy feed-forward networks with two hidden layers are superior to other tested architectures. On the other hand feed-forward architectures are, in general, more demanding in terms of training time requirements. Results also indicate that with a careful choice of learning parameters all tested architectures tend to generate stable (repeatable) results.

This paper deals with the synchronization of fractional-order chaotic discrete-time systems. First, some new concepts regarding the output-memory observability of non-linear fractional-order discrete-time systems are developed. A rank criterion for output-memory observability is derived. Second, a dead-beat observer which recovers exactly the true state system from the knowledge of a finite number of delayed inputs and delayed outputs is proposed. The case of the presence of an unknown input is also studied. Third, secure data communication based on a generalized fractional-order Hénon map is proposed. Numerical simulations and application to secure speech communication are presented to show the efficiency of the proposed approach.

Dynamics and control of discrete chaotic systems of fractional-order have received considerable attention over the last few years. So far, nonlinear control laws have been mainly used for stabilizing at zero the chaotic dynamics of fractional maps. This article provides a further contribution to such research field by presenting simple linear control laws for stabilizing three fractional chaotic maps in regard to their dynamics. Specifically, a one-dimensional linear control law and a scalar control law are proposed for stabilizing at the origin the chaotic dynamics of the Zeraoulia-Sprott rational map and the Ikeda map, respectively. Additionally, a two-dimensional linear control law is developed to stabilize the chaotic fractional flow map. All the results have been achieved by exploiting new theorems based on the Lyapunov method as well as on the properties of the Caputo h-difference operator. The relevant simulation findings are implemented to confirm the validity of the established linear control scheme.

Opis:
Controller placement problem (CPP) is a significant technological challenge in software defined network (SDN). Deployment of a properly designed SDN-based network is required to detect optimal number of controllers for enhancing the network’s performance. However, the best possible controller placement for enhancing the network’s performance faces many issues. To solve the CPP, a novel technique called the hybrid evolutionary algorithm of optimized controller placement (HEA-OCP) in SDN environment is introduced to increase network’s performance by different network topologies. In the proposed model, optimized controller placement using improved multi-objective artificial fish optimization is employed to improve data transmission and reduce latency. Controller placement can be determined using an undirected graph based on a variety of factors, including propagation delay, load balancing capabilities and bandwidth, fault tolerance and data transfer rate, and a variety of other factors. For each controller, the fitness value is calculated over multi-criteria functions. The optimizer’s performance can be improved with the use of Gaussian chaotic maps. In large-scale SDN networks using HEC-OCP, the algorithm dynamically analyzes the optimal number of controllers and the best connections between switches and controllers. As a result, the overall network performance is improved and the delay minimization-based controller placement strategy is obtained. The simulation of HEA-OCP with existing methods is conducted by a network topology dataset of various metrics, namely packet delivery ratio, packet drop rate, throughput, average latency, and jitter. The proposed HEA-OCP improves the packet delivery and throughput with reduced average latency, and packet drop ensures more instantaneous communications in real-time applications of SDN for better decision-making.

Opis:
The rapid development of digital products brings security issues. Digital watermarking technology is an important means to handle these problems. To enhance the imperceptibility of watermark and locate the possible tampering as well, a digital watermarking scheme based on curvelet transform is presented by combining with multiple chaotic maps. The host image is decomposed into three parts, i.e., coarse layer, detail layer and fine layer, with curvelet transform, and a robust watermark is embedded into the coarse layer for copyright protection of digital products. In addition, an authentication watermark is embedded into the fine layer to detect and locate the illegal changes. Simulation results show that the proposed digital watermarking scheme possesses acceptable robustness and security.
