Opis:
Challenges to the teaching of religion are analysed from different perspectives and in different aspects. In the diagnosis of problems, one of the most important factors is the opinion of religion teachers who confront these challenges directly and on a daily basis. This article is an analysis of the results of a survey of religion teachers in this context. Challenges from the students, from the parents, from the institutional Church, from the school and challenges from the parish are discussed. Among the most serious challenges is the lack of faith of the pupils and the lack of need for faith development were identified. The research shows that the strongest correlate of attitudes towards Religious Education at school is religious indifference and waning religiosity.

Opis:
Caring sensibly for our health means caring for the supreme gift that is life, bestowed on us by God. Physical activity is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, affecting not only physical fitness, but also helping to maintain the so-called psychological well-being promoting spiritual development. Every teacher employed in a modern school should also be a facilitator of physical activity among pupils. Naturally, religion teachers can also become involved in educational activities in the health domain by implementing programmes promoting active lifestyles. This assumption should be reflected in the latest religion teaching documents containing fundamental principles and indications that provide structure to the teaching of religion, as well as in textbooks. The aim of this study is to indicate the provisions concerning physical activity in the most recent documents programming the teaching of religion, which are: the Core Curriculum for Catechesis of the Catholic Church in Poland, Program for teaching Roman Catholic Religion in kindergartens and schools, and selected textbooks on religious education published by Wydawnictwo Katechetyczne Sp. z o.o. in Warsaw. Based on the analysis of the indicated documents and textbooks, conclusions and postulates are proposed for the correlation of school religious instruction with education in order to promote health-oriented attitudes among students.
Rozsądna troska o nasze zdrowie to dbanie o najwyższy dar, jakim jest życie powierzone nam przez Boga. Aktywność fizyczna jest niezbędnym elementem zdrowego stylu życia, decydującym nie tylko o sprawności fizycznej, ale także pomaga zachować tzw. dobrostan psychiczny sprzyjający rozwojowi duchowemu. Każdy nauczyciel zatrudniony we współczesnej szkole powinien także być promotorem aktywności fizycznej uczniów. W sposób oczywisty również katecheci mogą włączyć się w działania edukacyjne w obszarze zdrowia poprzez realizowanie programów promujących aktywny styl życia. Założenie to winno mieć odzwierciedlenie w najnowszych dokumentach katechetycznych zawierających fundamentalne zasady i wskazania, które nadają kształt nauczaniu religii, a także w podręcznikach. Celem niniejszej pracy jest wskazanie zapisów dotyczących aktywności fizycznej w najnowszych dokumentach programujących nauczanie religii którymi są, Podstawa programowa katechezy Kościoła katolickiego w Polsce, Program nauczania religii rzymskokatolickiej w przedszkolach i szkołach, oraz wybrane podręczniki do nauki religii wydane przez Wydawnictwo Katechetyczne Sp. z o.o. w Warszawie. Na podstawie analizy wskazanych dokumentów i podręczników, zaproponowano wnioski i postulaty dotyczące korelacji szkolnego nauczania religii z edukacją, służące promowaniu postaw prozdrowotnych wśród uczniów.

Wyzwania dla nauczania religii są analizowane z różnych perspektyw i w różnych aspektach. W diagnozie problemów jednym z najważniejszych czynników jest opinia nauczycieli religii, którzy bezpośrednio i na co dzień konfrontują się z tymi wyzwaniami. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi analizę wyników badań nauczycieli religii w tym kontekście. Omówione zostały wyzwania ze strony uczniów, rodziców, Kościoła instytucjonalnego, szkoły oraz wyzwania ze strony parafii. Wśród najpoważniejszych wyzwań nauczyciele religii wskazali brak potrzeby rozwijania wiary ze strony uczniów i ich rodziców. Badania potwierdzają, że najsilniejszym korelatem postaw wobec edukacji religijnej w szkole są obojętność religijna i słabnąca religijność.

Artykuł jest próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie: jaką rolę może pełnić szkolne nauczanie religii w kontekście wychowania do życia w prawdzie, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem aktywności katechizowanych w świecie wirtualnym. W niniejszym opracowaniu przedstawiono wyniki analizy dwóch najnowszych dokumentów: Dyrektorium o katechizacji i Podstawy programowej katechezy Kościoła katolickiego w Polsce oraz zaproponowano postulaty dotyczące posługi katechetycznej w odniesieniu do zagadnienia prawdomówności i fałszu w obszarze korzystania z Internetu.
This paper analyses the question about the role of school-based religious education in the preparation for living in truth, with an emphasis on the online activity of the catechised. It presents the findings produced by an analysis of the two most recent documents: Directory for Catechesis and the Core Curriculum of Catechesis of the Catholic Church in Poland and proposes postulates on catechetical service in reference to the issue of truthfulness and falsehood during Internet use.
Der Artikel ist ein Versuch, die Frage zu beantworten: Welche Rolle kann der schulische Religionsunterricht im Kontext der Erziehung zum Leben in der Wahrheit spielen, mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf den Aktivitäten der Katecheten in der virtuellen Welt. Diese Studie präsentiert die Ergebnisse der Analyse der beiden jüngsten Dokumente: des Direktoriums zur Katechese und der Grundlagen der katechetischen Katechese der Katholischen Kirche in Polen sowie vorgeschlagene Postulate zum katechetischen Dienst in Bezug auf die Frage von Wahrhaftigkeit und Falschheit in der Bereich der Internetnutzung.

W artykule podjęto próbę analizy wybranych podręczników do nauczania religii dla ucznia i przewodników metodycznych dla katechety wydanych po 2001 roku, pod kątem dokonanego w nich procesu interpretacji tekstów biblijnych z Księgi Rodzaju 4-11. Omawiane perykopy opisują proces rozpowszechniania się zła, czego przejawem są kolejne akty przemocy, jakich dopuszcza się człowiek, oraz ukazują Boga, który przychodzi z pomocą. Materiały katechetyczne zostały przestudiowane pod kątem trzech reguł hermeneutycznych: zasady historyczno-literackiej, teologicznej, egzystencjalnej.
Violence in the Bible (Gen 4-11) encountered in selected religious education textbooks The article attempts an analysis of selected religious education student textbooks and of methodology guides for teachers published after 2001 based on their interpretation of the biblical verses from Genesis 4-11. The pericopes under consideration describe the process of the spread of evil, which is manifested in subsequent acts of violence perpetrated by men, as well as reveal God who comes to rescue. The analysis of religious education materials is conducted from the perspective of the following three hermeneutic principles: historical/literary, theological, and existential. Udział w lekcjach religii powinien pomagać młodym ludziom w rozwijaniu duchowej sfery osobowości, w odnalezieniu własnej drogi do Boga oraz zrozumieniu celu i sensu życia. Zważywszy, że duchowość jest istotnym czynnikiem chroniącym w profilaktyce uzależnień i zachowań ryzykownych młodzieży, bardzo niepokojący jest, odnotowywany w ostatnich latach, spadek frekwencji uczniów szkół średnich na katechezie. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie oczekiwań młodzieży względem katechezy w zakresie programu nauczania, kompetencji merytorycznych katechetów i stosowanych na lekcjach religii metod pracy. W wyniku badań sondażowych, przeprowadzonych w grupie 70 absolwentów szkół średnich, ustalono, że młodzi ludzie są bardzo zainteresowani religią i rozwojem duchowym, mają w tym zakresie wiele oczekiwań, ale również wiele pytań i wątpliwości. Oczekują więc od katechetów rzetelnej wiedzy i otwartości na dyskusję, czego niestety często brakuje im na lekcjach religii. 
Participation in Religious Education classes should supposedly facilitate the spiritual formation and development of young people’s personality, finding their own path to God, as well as understanding their purpose and meaning of life. Since spirituality is a significant factor in prevention of dependence and high-risk behaviours of adolescents, the decrease in the number of secondary education students who participate in Religious Education classes is most alarming. The purpose of this paper is to present the expectations of young people towards catechesis in terms of the curriculum, competences of the educators, and the working methods employed during the classes. The results of the survey carried out on a group of 70 secondary school graduates have revealed that young people are deeply interested in religion and spiritual growth. They have high expectations but are also full of questions and doubts. Therefore, they expect that catechists demonstrate sound knowledge and the ability to hold an open-minded discussion. This is, unfortunately, where Religious Education classes often fail them.

The need to enliven the catechesis of the elderly and to take advantage of the richness and experience of this social group resounds significantly in contemporary catechetical reflection. This is mainly due to the fact that society, and thus the community of the Church, is affected by the problem of the progressive aging of its members. In the catechetical dimension, it becomes important, among other things, to take appropriate steps to adapt the catechesis of the elderly in terms of appropriate content, tools and structure. The suggested specific educational offer should stimulate and encourage to verify and deepen one’s own religious knowledge, help answer nagging questions, especially existential ones in an eschatological perspective, and find a place and role of the elderly in the community of believers. In this study, the notion of old age and aging in the social and theological aspect was first analyzed, then the basic assumptions of neuroandragogy and the most important aspects of catechesis of the elderly were presented. The next part featured practical implications for the use of selected elements of andragogy and neuroandragogy in catechesis and the broadly understood activity and religious education of the elderly.
We współczesnej refleksji katechetycznej w sposób znaczący wybrzmiewa potrzeba ożywienia katechezy osób starszych, jak i skorzystania z bogactwa i doświadczenia tejże grupy społecznej. Wynika to przede wszystkim z faktu, iż społeczeństwo, a tym samym wspólnotę Kościoła dotyka problem postępującego starzenia się jej członków. W wymiarze katechetycznym istotnym staje się między innymi podjęcie odpowiednich kroków w celu dostosowania katechezy osób starszych pod względem odpowiednich treści, narzędzi oraz struktury. Proponowana swoista oferta edukacyjna powinna pobudzić oraz zachęcić do weryfikacji i pogłębienia własnej wiedzy religijnej, pomóc odpowiedzieć na nurtujące pytania, zwłaszcza natury egzystencjalnej w perspektywie eschatologicznej, a także odnaleźć miejsce i rolę osób starszych we wspólnocie wierzących. W niniejszym opracowaniu, analizie poddano najpierw pojęcie starości i starzenia się w ujęciu społecznym i teologicznym, następnie przedstawiono podstawowe założenia neuroandragogiki oraz najistotniejsze aspekty katechezy osób starszych. W kolejnej części zaprezentowane zostały implikacje praktyczne dla wykorzystania wybranych elementów andragogiki i neuroandragogiki w katechezie oraz szeroko pojętej aktywności i edukacji religijnej osób starszych.

Catechesis and religious education are two ways in which the ministry for the education for the faith is exercised, but within different physical contexts and with interlocutors coming from different backgrounds. Moreover, both catechesis and religious education share the same contents, which have been passed on to the interlocutors. This paper seeks to shed some light on the relationship between catechesis and religious education, in terms of their being distinct but at the same time complementary to each other. In this pursuit, we put forward arguments from both directions, those in favour of considering Catholic Religious Education and catechesis as identical and those viewing the two as distinct. The aim is to highlight the specific mission and role of each in education for the faith of the contemporary human being.

Requirements in the modern world are not popular – also on the basis of teaching. However, as Pope John Paul II often emphasized, one should demand from oneself even when others will not demand. These words should include catechists in their work. They are supposed to demand from students, remembering to be demanding towards themselves. Requirements cannot be detached from love. Only a kind teacher who is kind to the student carefully guides the development of the pupil. The issue of teaching requirements – including religious teaching – is important today because of the language of record of purposes. It focuses on knowledge and skills requirements. Catechists additionally in the latest program assumptions have indications regarding attitudes shaped in the catechetical process. Both in the parish and at school, the demanding catechist – from himself and from others – is a credible witness to the truths he proclaims.

Introduction. The nature of religious education or religious instruction may vary in different societies. The confessional religious education, namely catechesis, dominates in public schools, as the Roman Catholic Church continues to hold a strong position in Poland. Considering the fact that 94.2% of elementary school students receive the catechism, the author of the paper was interested in whether the Polish elementary schools teach about different religions, religious diversity, and religion as a cultural phenomenon? Aim. The aim of the presented paper is to analyse the National Curriculum and catechesis curriculum for elementary education in order to verify its content referring to religion in terms of cultural phenomenon. Methods. The qualitative content analysis of National Curriculum of elementary school was used in order to find out where (which school subject) and how (which context) religion as a cultural phenomenon is included in the aforementioned document. Results. The analyses indicate that the problem of religion as a cultural phenomenon is marginalized in the National Curriculum and catechesis curriculum for elementary school.
Wprowadzenie. W poszczególnych systemach edukacyjnych istnieją różne podejścia wobec nauczania religii w szkole. W Polsce edukacja religijna ma charakter wyznaniowy (katecheza) w związku z silną pozycją Kościoła Katolickiego. Zważywszy na fakt, że 94.2% uczniów szkół podstawowych uczęszcza na katechezę, autorkę tekstu interesowało, czy w podstawie nauczania dla szkół podstawowych uwzględnia się problematykę różnorodności religijnej i wyznaniowej oraz czy religia traktowana jest tako fenomen kulturowy. Cel. Celem artykułu jest analiza podstawy programowej dla szkół podstawowych i programu nauczania katechezy w celu zweryfikowania treści odnoszących się do religii jako fenomenu kulturowego. Metody. Posłużono się jakościową analizą treści podstawy programowej dla szkoły podstawowej w celu ustalenia na jakich przedmiotach (gdzie?) oraz w jaki sposób (jaki kontekst?) religia jako zjawisko kulturowe zawarta jest w tym bazowym dokumencie. Wyniki. Z przeprowadzonych analiz wynika, że problem religii jako zjawiska kulturowego jest marginalizowany w podstawie programowej dla szkoły podstawowej.

This article discusses the current situation of the Church resulting from the epidemic threat of the coronavirus. It indicates how we can teach religious education online, using particular platforms and educational websites, as well as instant messengers and other internet services, to make them tools of catechesis and evangelization. The author emphasizes the spiritual contact of the faithful who, through the media, can participate in Holy Masses and receive the Spiritual Communion. She underlines the role of the proper use of mass media in the work of catechesis and evangelization. The author encourages people responsible for catechesis to be creative in the remote proclamation of the redemptive message, and to use all the available didactic resources and methods.

Opis:
Papież Franciszek zatwierdził 23 marca 2020 r. nowe Dyrektorium o Katechizacji, które opracowała Papieska Rada ds. Krzewienia Nowej Ewangelizacji. Pierwsze Directorium Catechisticum Generale z 1971 r. było odpowiedzią na wielkie wydarzenie eklezjalne, jakim był Sobór Watykański II i jego generalną reformę oraz odnowę. Również następne dokumenty katechetyczne – kontynuując główne przesłanie – odpowiadają na znaki czasu w szybko zmieniającym się świecie. Dla drugiego Dyrektorium Ogólnego o Katechizacji z 1997 r. odniesieniem były synody, które znaczeniu katechezy poświęcały dużo miejsca, a zwłaszcza adhortacja Jana Pawła II Catechesi tradendae (1979) i ukazanie się Katechizmu Kościoła Katolickiego (1992) miały decydującą rolę w nowym opracowaniu celów, treści i zagadnień metodologicznych. Trzecie Dyrektorium Katechetyczne z 2020 r. to dynamiczne rozwinięcie dwóch wcześniejszych tekstów, z którymi zachowuje ciągłość. Jest to również odczytanie współczesnych znaków czasu. Dyrektorium katechetyczne to normatywny dokument eklezjalny, który zawiera fundamentalne zasady teologiczno-pastoralne zaczerpnięte głównie z dokumentów Soboru Watykańskiego II, Katechizmu Kościoła Katolickiego i innych dokumentów Nauczycielskiego Urzędu Kościoła z zakresu katechezy oraz ogólne wytyczne dla Episkopatów w celu opracowania dyrektoriów katechetycznych krajowych, które uwzględniając konkretne warunki wskażą drogi posługi katechetycznej w Kościołach partykularnych. Ich rozwój po Soborze Watykańskim II oznacza przechodzenie do kolejnego etapu głoszenia Ewangelii we współczesnym świecie.
On 23 March 2020, Pope Francis approved a new Directory for Catechesis, which was prepared by the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization. The first Directorium Catechisticum Generale of 1971 responded to the great ecclesial event of the Second Vatican Council and its general reform and renewal. The subsequent catechetical documents also responded to the signs of the times in a rapidly changing world, continuing the main message. The Second General Directory for Catechesis of 1997 drew on synods, which emphasised the importance of catechesis, and especially the John Paul II’s Exhortation Catechesi tradendae (1979) and the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (1992) had a decisive role in the new development of the objectives, contents and methodological issues. The third Directory for Catechesis of 2020 is a dynamic elaboration on the two previous texts maintaining continuity with them. It is also a reading of contemporary signs of the times. The Directory is a normative ecclesial document that contains fundamental theological-pastoral principles drawn mainly from the documents of the Second Vatican Council, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and other documents of the Church’s Magisterium in the area of catechesis, as well as general guidelines for episcopates to develop national catechetical directories which, while taking into account specific conditions, will guide the path of catechetical ministry in particular Churches. Their development after the Second Vatican Council marks the transition to the next stage of the proclamation of the Gospel in the modern world.

Wychowanie w wierze jest niezbywalnym prawem każdego człowieka, a wiec także osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. Jest ono realizowane przy współpracy trzech środowisk wychowawczych: rodziny, szkoły i parafii. Jego integralny element stanowi katecheza sakramentalna przygotowująca do sakramentów pokuty i pojednania, Eucharystii oraz bierzmowania. Taki rodzaj posługi głoszenia Słowa Bożego wobec osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną wynika nie tylko z konieczności przyjęcia przez ochrzczone osoby z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną sakramentów inicjacji chrześcijańskiej oraz sakramentu pokuty i pojednania, ale przede wszystkim z interpretacji kanonów Kodeksu prawa kanonicznego, opinii teologicznej oraz praktyki katechetyczno-pedagogicznej.
Education in faith is an inalienable right of every human being, including people with intellectual disabilities. It is implemented with the cooperation of three educational environments: family, school and parish. Its integral element is the sacramental catechesis preparing for the sacraments of penance and reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation. This kind of ministry of proclaiming the Word of God to people with intellectual disabilities results not only from the necessity for the baptized persons with intellectual disabilities to accept the sacraments of Christian initiation and the sacrament of penance and reconciliation, but above all from the canons’ interpretation of the canonical code, theological opinion and catechetical and pedagogical practice.

The time of early education of a child in school is a time of intense intellectual and spiritual work. It carries a lot of changes in the child’s personal, family and school life. This article is giving the attention to the problem of values in the child’s life. It is also an attempt to answer the following questions: how does the time of early education introduce a child in early school age to the world of religious values, what is the role of the family and teachers during this period.

Rozeznawanie znaków czasu i wypracowywanie na nie odpowiedzi jest podstawowym warunkiem skutecznej działalności katechetycznej Kościoła adresowanej szczególnie do ludzi młodych. Z tego względu podjęcie refleksji naukowej nad tym zagadnieniem wydaje się nie tylko zasadne, co wręcz konieczne. Na początku niniejszego artykułu przeprowadzono analizę znaczenia terminu „znaki czasu”. Następnie wskazano i scharakteryzowano te znaki czasu, które wydają się współcześnie najbardziej istotne dla szeroko pojętej katechezy. Zwieńczeniem refleksji jest z kolei próba wypracowania odpowiedzi na przedstawione problemy.
Recognizing the signs of the times and responding to them is the basic challenge for maintaining the effectiveness of the Church’s catechetical activity, especially that addressed to young people. Therefore, making a scientific reflection on this issue seems not only justified, but even compulsory. At the beginning of this article, the meaning and implications of the phrase “signs of the times” is analyzed. Then these signs of the times, at least those which seem most important today with regard to the broadly understood catechesis, are identified and characterized. The conclusion of the reflection represents some attempt to formulate and develop effective answers to the presented problems.
