    The lack of proper analytical models of some production processes prevents us from obtaining proper values of process parameters by simply computing optimal values. Possible solutions of control problems in such areas of industrial processes can be found using certain methods from the domain of artificial intelligence: neural networks, fuzzy logic, expert systems, or evolutionary algorithms. Presented in this work, a solution to such a control problem is an alternative approach that combines control of the industrial process with learning based on production results. By formulating the main assumptions of the proposed methodology, decision processes of a human operator using his experience are taken into consideration. The researched model of using and gathering experience of human beings is designed with the contribution of agent technology. The presented solution of the control problem coincides with case-based reasoning (CBR) methodology.

    Mobile technologies have increasingly become more and more widespread not only for making our daily lives easier and simpler, but also for their enormous potential in educational development. This case study examines university students’ satisfaction with and perceptions towards the use of blended learning and flipped classroom models in foreign language learning (FLL) contexts. The methodology used in this study involves the descriptive and quantitative analysis of responses generated from students studying English as a foreign language at the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the University of Jordan. The analysis of these responses gave the author of this study an idea about what factors a teacher should take into account when introducing blended learning and flipped classroom models into a classroom.

    The aim of this article is to place the interest on cannibalization of existing business model as a consequence of introducing to the company's activity new business based on digital technologies. The article is structured as follows: in the first part the business model notion is presented, further its relation with technology, especially digital technology, is underlined, then in the third part research methodology is discussed, whereas the fourth part analyses enterprises' reactions to revolutionary change triggered by digital technologies in the business model context. Considerations presented in the article has been formulated on the basis of systematic literature review, including 139 publications from the period between 2010 and 2014, Polish-language and English-language, and represent part of wider research conducted on business models. Quoted in the article the Deseret News case points to the dual-transformation approach as the most effective reaction to digital revolution. Firstly, the transformation encompasses reorganizing existing business in order to adjust it to the current market reality. Secondly, new innovative business based on digital technologies is being developed within separate structures with the intention to become the future core of the company's performance.

    W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań mających na celu opracowanie technologii produkcji łusek stalowych do amunicji przeciwlotniczej kalibru 30 mm. Opracowane etapy technologii dotyczą: - składu chemicznego i wytapiania stali oraz rodzaju wsadu do wytwarzania łusek do amunicji kalibru 30 mm, - technologii obróbki plastycznej obejmującej parametry operacji kształtowania oraz zaprojektowania i wykonania narzędzi w celu wytworzenia modelowej partii łusek, - parametrów obróbki cieplnej w celu uzyskania wymaganych właściwości technologicznych półwyrobów oraz właściwości mechanicznych i użytkowych wyrobów finalnych. Obecnie w Polsce nie produkuje się wymienionego asortymentu wyrobu. Opracowanie zawiera wyniki badań wykonanych w ramach projektu rozwojowego pt. "Opracowanie podstaw technologii produkcji elementów stalowych amunicji kalibru 30 mm".
    In the paper the bases of production technology of steel cartridge cases for 30mm caliber anti-aircraft ammunition are presented. Particular stages of production technology are described: selection of chemical composition, production technology of steel grade, plastic working, construction of tools for plastic working processes and parameters of final heat treatment in order to obtain required mechanical and operational properties. Steel cartridge cases for 30 mm caliber ammunition are not produced currently in Poland. The paper contains results of investigations carried out in the project entitled: "Development of the bases production technology of steel components for 30 mm caliber ammunition".

    The aim of this article is to familiarise the reader with the issue of virtual laboratories and to demonstrate their possible use on a concrete example. This example deals with the use of virtual laboratories in the teaching of mechanical engineering in high schools and universities. The Covid-19 pandemic has led to significant changes in the teaching process and its organisation. In this period, teaching usually took place online, which was implemented using resources such as Google Classroom or MS Teams. This article presents a sample task a project on which students of the second and third year of study at a secondary technical school are working. The project has an interdisciplinary character, because during its implementation students apply and further develop skills and knowledge from several subjects, namely physics, mechanics, chemistry and CAD design. The project is dedicated to the design of a pulley casting for a steel rope.

    Network relationships are critical for companies’ internationalisation processesand their importance is documented within research. However, it seems that insufficient attention has been paid to identifying the social variables that stand behind the process of rapid internationalisation. The purpose of this article is to indicate the social factors that shape relationships and their impact on the dynamics of the internationalisation process. To achieve this goal we analyse pertinent literature in order to clarifythe relationships between rapid internationalisation and social variables. These findings allow us to conduct a case study of a small IT company located in Poland covering an eight year period during of its domestic and foreign relationships development. We focus on phases of rapid transformation from a purely local company to highly internationalised organisation. The key contribution of this paper is a detailed assessment of social variables and their role in the acceleration of the internationalisation process.
    Relacje biznesowe mają kluczowe znaczenie dla przebiegu procesu internacjonalizacji, a związek ten stanowi przedmiot licznych badań. Jednakże wciąż istnieje luka poznawcza odnosząca się do wpływu czynników społecznych na przyspieszenie procesu internacjonalizacji. Celem artykułu jest ocena czynników społecznych pod kątem ich oddziaływania na przebieg i tempo procesu internacjonalizacji. Po dokonaniu przeglądu literatury badane zależności zostały opisane na podstawie studium przypadku małej polskiej firmy z branży IT, obejmującego okres ośmiu lat rozwoju od relacji wyłącznie o zasięgu krajowym aż po wysoki poziom umiędzynarodowienia.

    Prezentowany artykuł dotyczy zagadnienia wyceny innowacyjnych zasobów jednostki gospodarczej. Tworzenie nowych rozwiązań produktowych przy zastosowaniu nowoczesnych technologii oraz umiejętne oszacowanie ich wartości decyduje często o pozycji całego przedsiębiorstwa i jego przewadze konkurencyjnej w danym segmencie rynku. W pierwszej części artykułu przybliżono pojęcie wyceny, a także zaprezentowano systematyzację istniejących metod wyceny innowacyjnych aktywów w świetle dostępnej literatury przedmiotu. W części drugiej podjęto próbę ewaluacji wartości konkretnego rozwiązania produktowotechnologicznego z wykorzystaniem wybranej metody wyceny. Zwrócono uwagę na znaczenie pewnych cech charakteryzujących przedmiot wyceny, które mogą determinować rodzaj zastosowanej w danym przypadku metody.
    The presented paper concerns the aspects of valuation of the innovative resources of the entity. Creating innovative solutions, using modern technology often determines the value of the entire company and its competitive advantage in a given market segment. The first part introduces the concept of valuation; this part presents also the types of the valuation methods of a new product and technology solutions based on studies available in the literature; the second part is an attempt to evaluate the particular product and technological solution with the selected valuation method. The emphasis was also put on the significance and importance of certain characteristics of the subject of valuation, which can determine the type of the method used.

    Mercury emissions have become one of the problems in the energy sector in recent years. The currently used mercury removal techniques include: primary, secondary and preliminary methods. However, due to the large variation in the mercury content in hard and brown coal and the different characteristics of power plants, these methods are often not effective enough to meet the new requirements set by BREF/BAT which requires a search for new, high-efficiency solutions. The proposal for a new technology has been developed in the project “Hybrid Adsorption Systems to Reduce Mercury Emissions Using Highly Effective Polymer Components” (HYBREM). The project was implemented by the consortium of SBB Energy SA and ZEPAK Pątnów II Power Plant. An innovative, high-efficiency hybrid technology for purifying exhaust gases from mercury was developed. GORE polymer modules were used as a technology base where, in combination with the injection of solid sorbents, a hybrid technology was developed. To assess the economic efficiency of the similar case as in the HYBREM project model based on OPEX and CAPEX, each method was selected separately. The article focused on the substitution of solid sorbents used in the HYBREM project by zeolite based materials. Modified zeolite X, applied in the project, was derived from fly ash. Preliminary analysis shows that the system of proposed technologies is very cost-competitive compared only to GORE technology. The basic factors are the possibility of recovering zeolites from ash, combined with low investment outlays.
    Emisja rtęci w ostatnich latach stała się jednym z problemów sektora energetycznego. Obecnie stosowane techniki usuwania rtęci to: metody pierwotne, wtórne i wstępne. Nie są one wystarczająco skuteczne, aby spełnić nowe wymagania określone przez BREF/BAT, dlatego konieczne jest poszukiwanie nowych, wysokowydajnych rozwiązań. Propozycja nowej technologii została opracowana w ramach projektu „Hybrydowe systemy adsorpcyjne w celu zmniejszenia emisji rtęci za pomocą wysoce skutecznych składników polimerowych” (HYBREM). Projekt został zrealizowany przez konsorcjum SBB Energy SA i Elektrownię Pątnów II. W jego ramach zbudowano innowacyjną, wysokowydajną technologię do oczyszczania gazów spalinowych z rtęci. Zastosowano technologię GORE, która łączy istniejące rozwiązania wykorzystujące wydajne moduły polimerowe oraz system wtrysku stałego sorbentu. Innym rozwiązaniem jest technologia konfiguracji wtrysku sorbentu bez użycia modułów GORE. Aby ocenić efektywność ekonomiczną dla przypadku podobnego jak w projekcie HYBREM, wybrano model oparty na OPEX i CAPEX. Artykuł koncentruje się na zastąpieniu stałych sorbentów stosowanych w projekcie HYBREM materiałami na bazie zeolitów. Zastosowany w projekcie zmodyfikowany zeolit X pochodził z popiołu lotnego. Wstępna analiza pokazuje, że system proponowanych technologii jest bardzo konkurencyjny pod względem kosztów w porównaniu z technologią GORE. Podstawowym czynnikiem sukcesu jest możliwość odzyskiwania zeolitów z popiołu w połączeniu z niskimi nakładami inwestycyjnymi.

    Artykuł dotyczy charakterystyki i zastosowania luminescencyjnych koncentratorów słonecznych LSC (ang. Luminescent Solar Concentrator) w rozwiązaniach architektonicznych. Opisano metodę działania koncentratorów luminescencyjnych oraz wskazano kierunki ich zastosowania. Poruszone zostały kwestie wykorzystania luminescencyjnych koncentratorów i związane z tym możliwości rozwoju energii odnawialnej w rozwiązaniach architektonicznych. W oparciu o studium przypadku opisano wybrane projekty rozwiązań architektonicznych z użyciem technologii opartej na luminescencyjnych koncentratorach słonecznych. Efektem artykułu jest zidentyfikowanie obszarów w zakresie wykorzystania luminescencyjnych koncentratorów słonecznych w rozwiązaniach architektonicznych.
    The article concerns the characteristics and application of Luminescent Solar Concentrators (LSC) in architectural solutions. The method of operation of luminescent concentrators was described and the directions of their application were indicated. The issues of the use of luminescent concentrators and the related opportunities for the development of renewable energy in architectural solutions were discussed. Based on a case study, selected designs of architectural solutions with the use of technology based on luminescent solar concentrators were described. The result of the article is to identify areas in the use of solar luminescent concentrators in architectural solutions.
