According to the importance of education in the life of each person and that each school or university student faces career decision-making during education and also considering the importance of time perspective in decision-making self-efficacy and academic achievement, the present research was done to examine the relationship between time perspective and career decision self-efficacy and its influence on the academic achievement in students of Isfahan University. This study was a descriptive-correlative one and the research population consisted of students of Isfahan University. A sample of 184 subjects was selected using cluster sampling method. To collect data, participants completed Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI) and Taylor and Betz Career Decision-making Self-efficacy Inventory. Academic Achievement was measured through previous semester GPA. The data were analyzed using SPSS software, version 18, by results of correlation and regression analysis. The results indicated that the dimensions of time perspective have significant relationships with self-efficacy and career decision-making and predict them. In addition, there was not a significant relationship between career decision-making self-efficacy and academic achievement.

Opis:
The process of adaptation to professional career remains an important issue, especially in the domain of professional consultancy. This article aims at the analysis of the relationships between the occupational themes, the ambiguity tolerance level in career decisions and the style of coping with career decision-making difficulties. The study covered 227 students. The participants were assigned occupational themes according to the results obtained from a Multifaceted Occupational Preferences Assessment questionnaire. They have been analysed for the diversity in terms of ambiguity tolerance in career decision-making (Career Decisions Ambiguity Tolerance questionnaire) and the styles of coping with difficulties in career decisions (Coping with Career Decisionmaking Difficulties questionnaire). It has been established that sex is not related to the aforesaid personality dispositions. Persons with the social occupational theme seek social support more often than persons categorised as other types; the artistic theme is most closely connected with the unproductive coping style, while persons categorised as enterprising exhibit the opposite tendency. Furthermore, a correlation between the ambiguity tolerance and the productive coping style in career decisions has been noted.

Opis:
Individual career planning plays a key role in achieving success, goals, and ideals in professional life. However, managing to accomplish such favorable results depends on the correct decisions of graduates to choose suitable job opportunities. Oceangoing watchkeeping officers, who are responsible for the management and administration of vessels at sea, have several job options which are differentiated by vessel type, such as; bulk carriers, chemical tankers, general cargo ships, and container ships, etc. This study aims to discuss the criteria that Turkish oceangoing watchkeeping officers take into consideration and the values they attribute to such criteria regarding their vessel type preference. The aim is to provide instructions to oceangoing watchkeeping officer candidates and academicians who are interested in these issues and related parties of maritime industry. Attribution values of the criteria are determined by means of Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the most preferred alternative vessel type is revealed through Fuzzy TOPSIS methodology. According to the study results, the most important factors are; revenue, perception of occupational health and safety, and labor work density. The most preferred ship type among alternatives is the oil tanker.

This article aims to analyze the relations between the difficulty of making career decisions and hope for success. Hope for success may be a factor that modifies the quality of decisions, espe-cially in difficult situations. As a source of motivation to act and overcome the obstacles encountered, hope for success influences human perception and behavior when making decisions and taking actions. The study was carried out on a group of 149 students in the final grade of high schools located in the Mazowieckie voivodeship, Poland. The participants were 17 to 21 years old (M = 18.64, SD = 0.69). To measure the variables, we used the Career Decision-Making Difficulties Questionnaire and the Hope for Success Questionnaire. The results indicate statistically significant differences in the severity of the difficulties in making career decisions in people with different levels of hope of success.

At the beginning of adulthood, the young man is faced with diffi cult choices related its future. One of the most important choices is the decision concerning the choice of career. In order to help those who fi nd themselves in this situation was developed a taxonomy of diffi culties in career decision making (Gati et al., 1996). During the making life decisions a variable strongly interacting on human functioning may be anxiety (Spielberger et al., 1983). Anxiety is understood in two ways, fi rst as a state, perceived in a specifi c situation, and secondly, anxiety understood as a relatively stable personality trait. The survey was conducted on a group of 149 high school students from the Mazowieckie voivodeship, Poland. The age range of the respondents was between 17 and 21 (M = 18.64, SD = 0.69). In the study used the Career Decision-Making Questionnaire (CDDQ) and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). Based on the statistical analysis can be indicate statistically signifi cant diff erences in the intensity of the diffi culties in making career decisions in people with diff erent levels of anxiety understood as a trait. The results suggest to pay attention to the level of anxiety understood as a trait in the process of career guidance services for people in a situation of career choices.
U progu dorosłości młody człowiek staje przed trudnymi wyborami dotyczącymi jego przyszłości. Jednym z kluczowych wyborów jest decyzja zawodowa. Dla osób znajdujących się w takiej sytuacji opracowana została taksonomia trudności towarzyszących procesowi decyzji odnoszącej się do kariery (Gati i in., 1996). W trakcie podejmowania życiowych decyzji zmienną silnie oddziałującą na funkcjonowanie człowieka może być lęk (Spielberger i in., 1983). Lęk rozumiany jest dwojako, po pierwsze jako stan, odczuwany w konkretnej sytuacji, po drugie – jako względnie stała cecha osobowości. Badanie przeprowadzono z udziałem 149 maturzystów z województwa mazowieckiego. Wiek osób badanych mieścił się w przedziale 17–21 lat, M = 18,64 i SD = 0,69. Wykorzystano Kwestionariusz Trudności w Podejmowaniu Decyzji Zawodowych (CDDQ) oraz Inwentarz Stanu i Cechy Lęku (STAI). Na podstawie analiz statystycznych można wskazać istotne statystycznie różnice w nasileniu trudności w podejmowaniu decyzji zawodowych u osób o różnym poziomie lęku rozumianego jako cecha. Otrzymane wyniki wskazują, że należy zwracać uwagę na poziom lęku jako cechy w procesie poradnictwa zawodowego dla osób znajdujących się w sytuacji wyboru kariery.
