Introduction and aim. With the development of transportation facilities and options, people can now travel easily. With women having a greater presence in the workforce, pregnant women can work until the eighth week before childbirth. This study was conducted to examine the behaviors of pregnant women regarding travel. Material and methods. The data for this cross-sectional and descriptive study were collected from 519 pregnant women who voluntarily participated in the research and met the research criteria. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 24 software package. Results. The average age of the participating pregnant women was 27.49±0.17, with 63.8% residing in urban areas, 74.8% being primiparous, and 47.6% being in the third trimester of pregnancy. A decrease in travel and car usage during pregnancy. The use of bus, train/tram/metro, taxi, bicycle/scooter, and motorcycle decreased during pregnancy, while use of car, plane, and ship/ferry increased. 81.9% of women always wore a seat belt during pregnancy. There was a statistically significant difference between the educational level of women and their car usage (p<0.005). It was found that women wore seat belts more frequently in the third trimester. As the number of pregnancies increased, the frequency of seat belt usage decreased. Conclusion. A decrease in the frequency of travel was observed among women during pregnancy. The levels of seat belt usage and correct seat belt fastening were unsatisfactory.

The article presents the transmission of a truck, whereinnovativerepairkits of the driveshaft crosspiece are used. The crosspiece is an element of the transmission, and transmits all the torque from the gearbox to the wheels of the car, therefore it is a heavily loaded part. A mathematical model has been developed that describes in detail the process of changing the size of a movable conical spring insert in a sliding bearing used in the mechanism of the cardan shaft crosspiece. The innovative repair kit is designed to improve performance by introducing an elastic intermediate element into the bearing. This element is a movable insert in the form of a helical or conical spring, and its compressible force is adjustable. This creates a tight seal on the working surfaces, preventing oxidative processes and activation of microplastic deformation of the surface.

Automatic car license plate recognition (LPR) is widely used nowadays. It involves plate localization in the image, character segmentation and optical character recognition. In this paper, a set of descriptors of image segments (characters) was proposed as well as a technique of multi-stage classification of letters and digits using cascade of neural network and several parallel Random Forest or classification tree or rule list classifiers. The proposed solution was applied to automated recognition of number plates which are composed of capital Latin letters and Arabic numerals. The paper presents an analysis of the accuracy of the obtained classifiers. The time needed to build the classifier and the time needed to classify characters using it are also presented.

Road safety problem is still topical, especially since the number of vehicles and the volume of traffic are increasing. It is possible to increase the safety of road users through systemic changes in many areas related to transport. The deformation of the vehicle body during an accident has an impact on the loads acting on the passengers. Vehicle body deformation depends on complex parameters, and knowledge of these parameters is essential for designing crumple zones and the accident reconstruction process. Knowledge of the mechanical parameters of the vehicle structure during deformation is also a reference to passenger injury indicators assessment. This paper reports results from the analytical approach for determining the protection level of personal vehicles. The proposed conception is based on the results from the static stiffness characteristic of the Ford Taurus, which gives the possibility of phenomenological and simple body crumple analytical description at a speed equal to 10 km/h, 40 km/h, 56 km/h and 60 km/h, which is an original part of the work. The approach enables us to describe the vehicle crash by focusing on variations of deformation in time, stiffness, vehicle collision time (duration), deceleration and dynamic crash force. Basing on the body stiffness data of the personal vehicle, the length of the deformation zone in the front of the car and the maximum values of force at the crash for a speed of 60 km/h are presented. Results obtained by the authors show that is possible to estimate the overloading level during the crash time of a vehicle based on the stiffness characteristic of the car body. The proposed methodology can be developed and the advantage of the presented procedure is an uncomplicated useful tool for solving complex problems of a vehicle crash.

Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja inicjatyw oraz rozwiązań stosowanych przez wypożyczalnie samochodów w czasie pandemii COVID-19. Prezentowane w tekście analizy dotyczą wyników badania przeprowadzonego w agencjach wynajmu samochodów zlokalizowanych w Porcie Lotniczym im. Václava Havla w Pradze. W części teoretycznej przeprowadzono kwerendę literatury, natomiast do opracowania części empirycznej wykorzystano kwestionariusz ankiety. Przeprowadzone badania pokazały, że wybuch pandemii COVID-19 w istotny sposób zahamował i ograniczył rozwój oraz funkcjonowanie branży wypożyczalni samochodów. W badanych agencjach odnotowano 50% spadek liczby zamówień. Straty doprowadziły do ograniczania kosztów, które przełożyły się na zwolnienia lub zmiany umów z pracownikami. Dokonano zbycia aktywów niezwiązanych z podstawową działalnością firmy oraz podjęto współpracę z innymi podmiotami, aby zdywersyfikować źródła dochodu i potencjalnych klientów w czasie obostrzeń pandemicznych. Istotnej zmianie uległa także kategoria klienta wypożyczalni samochodów, a co za tym idzie, modele mobilności podróżnych korzystających z usług wypożyczalni samochodów. Pojawiły się wydatki na bezpieczeństwo i ochronę zdrowia pracowników i klientów, które stanowiły dodatkowe obciążenie dla przedsiębiorstw. Wyniki badań mogą stanowić źródło informacji dla agencji, które w przyszłości mogą być narażone na podobne i trudne sytuacje.
The aim of the article is to identify initiatives and solutions used by car rental companies during the COVID-19 pandemic. The presented analyses concern the results of research conducted at car rental agencies located at Václav Havel Airport in Prague. The theoretical part involved a literature search, while a survey questionnaire was used to develop the empirical part. The study showedthat the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic significantly hindered and limited the development and operation of the car rental industry. The surveyed agencies recorded a 50% decrease in the number of orders. Losses led to cost reductions, which translated into redundancies or changes in staff contracts. To diversify the sources of income and potential customers during the pandemicrestrictions, assets not related to the company’s core business were disposed of and cooperation with other entities was initiated. The car rental customer profile and, consequently, the mobility patterns of travellers using car rental services also changed significantly. Expenditure on employee and customer health and safety arose, which placed an additional burden on the businesses. The results of the research may be a source of information for agencies that may meet similar and difficult conditions in the future.

The paper aims to review the corrosion properties of selected aluminum alloys applied in the automotive industry which are used in heat exchangers, bodyworks and car wires. Particular attention was focused on application of selected chemical compounds which added to corrosive environment in certain amounts lead to decrease of corrosion rate of protected aluminium alloy. Considered different environmental conditions which are simulating real vehicle exploitation. At review analyzed ability to application mentioned compounds on automotive parts, because there is needed fill of following requirements: environmentally friendly, relatively inexpensive and characterized by long-term performance under certain conditions. Main conclusion of review is that there are needed extension of research regarding to application of inhibitive compounds especially on the surface of cars wires.

This article presents theoretical studies of methods for assessing car quality indicators in the operation stage. Important criteria for determining the quality indicators of cars during the operation phase are the following: functional stability, ecology, comfort, technical solutions, and traffic safety. The problem of converting a multicriteria quality assessment to a single criterion is proposed to be solved by the method of determining a quality index. The methodology for the practical and actual implementation of this research is based on the evaluation of the quality index established on the average vehicle speed then the basic methodological principles are formulated. The quality index of a car is significantly dependent on the operating conditions. This article presents the correction coefficients for the quality index of base, hybrid, and electric vehicles, depending on the operating conditions. The studies and the proposed car quality index provide timely information on the characteristics of operating conditions, creating the necessary conditions and opportunities for automakers to improve the design of cars, promote the image of car brands, and increase sales.

This article presents the use of the stakeholder analysis method to characterize the strategic position of car sharing services in Poland. The theoretical part presents a detailed theory of stakeholders, as well as detailed methods and the course of the interest group analysis procedure. It covers the fundamentals of stakeholder theory which refers to the concept of strategic planning, system theory, organization theory, social responsibility and strategic management. The characteristics of stakeholder analysis are presented together with mostly used methodology. The focus is put on most common analysis tools including the matrix of M. Johanson and K. Scholes based on the earlier Mendelow matrix and the map of stakeholders. The legitimacy and benefits of using the discussed method to determine the strategic position of modern and developing services have been presented. The research part presents an example of the use of the stakeholder analysis method in the Polish sector of car sharing services. The car-sharing services company stakeholder analysis of 23 entities provided knowledge on building relationships with employees and their involvement in the company's processes. The analysis made it possible to improve the strategic position of the company and determination of its position in negotiations with other organizations.
W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono wykorzystanie metody analizy interesariuszy do scharakteryzowania pozycji strategicznej usług car-sharingu w Polsce. W części teoretycznej przedstawiono szczegółową teorię interesariuszy, a także przedstawiono metody szczegółowe oraz przebieg procedury analizy grup interesu. Obejmuje podstawy teorii interesariuszy, która odnosi się do koncepcji planowania strategicznego, teorii systemów, teorii organizacji, odpowiedzialności społecznej i zarządzania strategicznego. Przedstawiono charakterystykę analizy interesariuszy wraz z najczęściej stosowaną metodologią. Nacisk kładziony jest na najpowszechniejsze narzędzia analityczne, w tym macierz M. Johansona i K. Scholesa opartą na wcześniejszej macierzy Mendelowa oraz na mapie interesariuszy. Przedstawiona została zasadność i korzyści wynikające z zastosowania omawianej metody do określenia pozycji strategicznej nowoczesnych i rozwijających się usług. W części badawczej przedstawiono przykład wykorzystania metody analizy interesariuszy w polskim sektorze usług współdzielenia pojazdów samochodowych. Analiza 23 interesariuszy podmiotu świadczącego usługi car sharingu dostarczyła wiedzy na temat budowania relacji z pracownikami i ich zaangażowania w procesy firmy. Analiza pozwoliła na poprawę strategicznej pozycji firmy i określenie jej pozycji w negocjacjach z innymi organizacjami.

Na wielu przedmiotach związanych z Aleksandrem I i jego panowaniem jako władcy Królestwa Polskiego, na przedmiotach jubilerskich, medalach, ceramice, rycinach etc., przetrwały panegiryczne sentencje, motta, dewizy gloryfikujące jego osobę, wyrażające podziw dla jego dokonań jako „wskrzesiciela” Polski, dawcy pokoju i wolności, wyrażające żal po jego śmierci. W źródłach pisanych zachowały się wygłaszane na jego cześć laudacje, zanoszone przed tron deklaracje lojalności, uległości i pełnego poddania. Zdają się one budować odmienny obraz rzeczywistości Królestwa Polskiego, inny niż ten, jaki dla okresu zaborów niesie pamięć zbiorowa Polaków przypominająca o traumie anihilacji społeczeństwa i kultury pod carskim panowaniem. Nie mamy pewności, czy pochwalne teksty polskich poddanych cara głoszone na jego cześć są szczere czy jedynie deklaratywne, jednak fakt ich powstania w czasach niewoli wart jest bliższego poznania i refleksji.
On many objects connected with Alexander I and his reign as the ruler of Polish Kingdom, on jewelry objects, medals ceramics, drawings etc., remained panegyric mottos and sentences glorifying him, and expressing admiration for his achievements as the „reviver” of Poland, giver of peace and freedom, expressing sorrow after his death. The available written sources commemorate laudations to his honor, declarations of loyalty, submissiveness and full surrender brought to his throne. They seem to paint a different picture of reality in the Polish Kingdom, unlike the one brought by the Polish collective memory of partition period, reminding the trauma of society and culture annihilation under tsar’s rule. We are not certain whether the praising texts of the Polish subjects of the tsar, preached in his honor, are sincere or only declarative, but the fact that they were created in the times of enslavement is worth investigating and reflecting upon.

During this work, the roof of the car was used as an engineering application to study and monitor the occurrence of failures under the influence of various loads. The shells are made of multilayer composite materials using epoxy resin reinforced with carbon fiber and aluminium oxide granules as reinforcing materials to increase the impact resistance that vehicles may be exposed to while driving, in addition to other loads and conditions such as vibration and constant exposure to moisture and sunlight. The simulation program was used the finite elements method through software Abaqus program in addition to the program MATLAB v.2020a to process the data obtained from the method that used in this study. The results showed that the specified failure criteria work well for predicting the overall structural response such as strain, stress, maximum force and displacement. The losses of energy of impact collision increase as an increase in impact velocity. The dissipation of energy which depend on the stress and strain distribution during elastic deformations. The effect of thickness of the lamina plays an important role in health monitoring the structure.

Chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy has been proven to be successful against different leukaemias and lymphomas. Its success has led, in recent years, to its use being tested for different solid tumours, including glioblastoma, a type of primary brain tumour, characterised by aggressiveness and recurrence. This paper presents an analytical study of a mathematical model describing the competition of CAR-T and glioblastoma tumour cells, taking into account their immunosuppressive capacity. The model is formulated in a general way, and its basic properties are investigated. However, most of the analysis considers the model with exponential tumour growth, assuming this growth type for simplicity. The existence and stability of steady states are studied, and the subsequent focus is on two different types of treatment: constant and periodic. Finally, protocols for CAR-T cell therapy of glioblastoma are numerically derived; these are aimed at preventing the tumour from reaching a critical size and at prolonging the patients’ survival time as much as possible. The analytical and numerical results provide theoretical support for the treatment of glioblastoma using CAR-T cells.

The first autonomous car was developed in the 1980s, but it wasn't until the early 2010s that the technology began to gain significant attention and investment. In 2010, Google began testing self-driving cars on public roads, and since then, many other companies have joined the race to develop fully autonomous vehicles. Hybrid PVT (Photovoltaic Thermal) heat exchangers cooled with mini-channels find application in autonomous vehicles as a solution that enables efficient cooling of the vehicle's electronics and batteries. The solution involves using photovoltaic panels to generate electricity and removing the heat produced during the process using mini-channels is removed by mini-channels. Hybrid PVT heat exchangers cooled with mini-channels can help maintain appropriate temperatures inside autonomous vehicles that generate large amounts of heat from electronic systems and sensors. The setup can improve the performance and reliability of autonomous systems, increase energy efficiency, and reduce energy demands. The experimental setup includes two parallel mini-channel systems separated by a smooth copper plate. The study aims to determine local heat-transfer coefficients, with a cooled solar cell efficiency range of 10% to 14% compared to other research. The cooled PV temperature range achieved was from 19.6 to 22.4 degrees Celsius, which is favorable for photovoltaic panels' operation under approximate light intensity for Poland's latitude. Heat-transfer from hot surfaces to cold fluids is analyzed during single-phase convection using two calculation methods: one-dimensional and numerical simulations using Simcenter STAR CCM+. Cooling photovoltaic modules is critical for the photovoltaic and autonomous vehicle systems sector, making this research significant both theoretically and practically. The research and methods presented in the article on mini-channel cooling of photovoltaic systems and autonomous vehicle systems are innovative at a global scale, and are crucial for further development of sustainable energy systems and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Automotive industry is constantly interested in building cars made of light and high strength parts in order to reduce the emission levels, the fuel consumption and minimize the effects of a car crash. Some parts may be made of lighter materials, but the steel ones must compensate the strength needed for the car body. Research is made for finding new materials showing high strength combined with high ductility. Among them, transformation - induced - plasticity steels are of great interest, efforts being made to improve their characteristics. A new composition of such a steel is presented, its features being compared with those of three other steels of the same class and category. Optical microscopy at different magnifications is performed, together with Vickers hardness test. Structural particularities are found for each tested steel, justified by their own chemical compositions. The new steel reveals important characteristics: besides the mainly bainitic structure, it has both larger ferritic areas and amounts of retained austenite, making him proper for further study.

A structural solution was proposed to enable passive control of the wheelsets of a motorised metro car on curved track with a small curve radius. This effect was achieved by varying the stiffness of the guidance of the wheelsets in the horizontal plane of the frame of each bogie on which the wagon body rests. This ensured the required critical speed of the metro wagon when moving on straight track, and allowed for reduced mechanical wheel wear and better steering of the bogies when moving on curved track with a small radius of curvature. Parameters specific to the design of modern metro cars were taken into account. Current knowledge of non-linear lateral dynamics of rail vehicles and the specialist computer programme Vi-Rail were used to perform the calculations involving simulation models.
