Opis:: This article provides an empirical study on the cancer patients’ quality of life undergoing surgery with the formation of intestinal stoma. The study involved 311 people aged from 32 to 63 years tested using the method of SF -36. The study reached the following conclusions. Individuals suffering from cancer pathology undergoing surgery with the formation of intestinal stoma, showed signs of lowering the overall quality of life. Indicators of physical health component of cancer patients reach low values in all components: role functioning due to physical condition, the intensity of pain, and general health. Scale defining mental health component of patients lead to the conclusion that cancer has a negative impact on the emotional state of the patient: the presence of depressive, anxiety tendencies, impaired social functioning, vitality and general psychological disadvantage.

Opis:: Seven-transmembrane (7TM) receptors are one of the most important proteins involved in perception of extracellular stimuli and regulation of variety of intracellular signaling pathways. Divergence of receptor types, their ligands and signaling pathways makes 7TM receptors important factors in pathology of many diseases. This review focused on the main diseases in which involvement of 7TM receptors was established e.g., retinitis pigmentosa, severe obesity, and dwarfism. Recent findings of aberrant expression of 7TM receptors in development of cancer were also summarized.

Opis:: Types of oncological rehabilitation and its objectives are described. The specific characteristics of the “cancer disease” are described, as well as a combination of somatic disorders which depends on the ongoing or arrested tumor development. It is necessary for doctors to observe the cancer patients before, during and after treatment for complication of cancer or treatment over the life span.
