The lack of communication is one of the most serious obstacles on the way to effective business management. Caring for proper communication within the company is the simplest method for achieving success. The purpose of the article is to present the role of communication within an enterprise. The article ends with conclusions supported by research results concerning the importance of internal communication.

The events related to the armed conflict in Ukraine undoubtedly have an impact on the image of the modern world economy. As a consequence, it forces the enterprise to implement specific actions related to change management, which should be a response to the changing environment, in this case based on changes in the security environment. On the basis of the conducted research, the authors emphasize that due to the interruption of the supply chain, forced changes in the TFL sector, the social impact and the social role of enterprises, the preparation of change management plans is a complicated and difficult task facing modern enterprises. In this article, the authors draw attention to the multifaceted nature of this phenomenon.

In processing companies, one of the problems they face is the final use of the waste generated by raw materials. For this reason, finding processing options for its use which at the same time generate income is an alternative for the management of new businesses. In Mexico, 33% of entrepreneurs seek to solve problems in the market or society, diversifying their source of income and expanding their creativity. The objective of this research is to develop new products from the industrial waste of shrimp and mango peels. The collection of information focused on the review of literature reports and reports from sources such as the Agro-Food and Fisheries Information Service (SIAP), the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the Council for Economic Development of Sinaloa (CODESIN), the Ministry of Economy, among others; contemplating the development of new products and entrepreneurship as an object of study. According to the diagnosis made by CODESIN, the areas with the greatest opportunity in the short term (1 to 3 years) to develop new products or, therefore, businesses in the bioeconomy area are processed foods, biofertilizers, and nutraceuticals. In conclusion, the development of a new product, such as shrimp and mango sauce, is an option for engineering and design, representing an area of opportunity for the operation of new businesses.

The article discusses experiences gained while integrating adaptive methods of project management with business processes management in a business organization, based on the research undertaken in SESCOM company in Gdańsk, Poland. The aim of the article is to formalize the authors' model of ABPM (Agile Business Process Management), dedicated to re-orienting the traditional process organization towards constructing adaptive, minimalistic process models, taking into consideration the Agile methods of workflow software development and long-term life-cycles of infrastructure connected with IT processes. The article proposes the areas, in which to implement the elements of Agile methodology in the classical Deming cycle. It also summarizes experience to-date with regard to the role of human capital in performing business strategies according to the ABPM model.

Being a strong yet growing economy, Poland is among the global leaders for doing business and an attractive destination for foreign companies expanding their reach abroad. However, entering such a complex and challenging market does not always go smoothly. Thence, this study aims to determine the critical factors hindering the development of international business in the country. To do so, the research employed an instrumental explanatory case study approach. The research subject is a subsidiary of a German electronics manufacturer in Poland, whose employee, who is also a researcher, is trying to identify the reasons for the company’s poor results in attracting new customers. Further thematic analysis of qualitative data from field notes and individual interviews with customers identified the following five factors that might be responsible for that: novelty, staff, logistics, communications, and marketing. The findings suggest that to be successful in the Polish context, an international business should offer novelty in its products or services, employ some local personnel, rely on local logistics, and conduct as much communication as possible in the Polish language, especially in marketing. The study not only fills the gaps in the literature on international business development in the Polish context, but also offers practical recommendations for improving the efficacy of international companies, regardless of their geographical location.

Realizacja projektów wdrożenia zarządzania procesowego w organizacjach cieszy się zainteresowaniem wielu przedsiębiorstw, niezależnie od wielkości czy sektora, w którym funkcjonują. Podejście holistyczne w tej koncepcji koncentruje się na sprawnym funkcjonowaniu procesów, w kontekście celów i założeń strategicznych organizacji. Pomimo zastosowania wielu rozwiązań i metodyk implementacji, projekty nie zawsze kończą się sukcesem, a w trakcie ich realizacji pojawia się wiele trudności i ograniczeń. Nasuwa się zatem problem badawczy: Jakie uwarunkowania projektów zarządzania procesowego we współczesnych organizacjach wpływają na ich sukces, a jakie z kolei czynniki powodują ich niepowodzenie? Prowadzone rozważania oraz wyniki prac badawczych wykazują konieczność podejmowania projektów na poziomie strategicznym i operacyjnym. Kluczowymi czynnikami sukcesu jest powiązanie płaszczyzny strategicznej i operacyjnej, zaangażowanie kapitału ludzkiego na wszystkich szczeblach organizacji i zaangażowanie pracowników oraz budowa otwartej na zmiany kultury organizacyjnej wraz ze wsparciem narzędzi IT.
The implementation of business process management projects in organizations is popular with many enterprises, regardless of their size or the sector in which they operate. Efficient implementation, a holistic approach in this concept focuses on the efficient functioning of processes in the context of the goals and strategic assumptions of the organization. Despite the use of many solutions and methodologies, projects are not always successful, and during their implementation there are many difficulties and limitations. Therefore, a research problem arises: What conditions of business process management projects in contemporary organizations influence their success, and what factors cause their failure? The considerations and the results of research work show the undertaken design solutions at the strategic and operational level. The key success factors are the linking of the strategic and operational levels, the involvement of human capital at all levels of the organization, and the involvement of employees as well as building an organizational culture open to changes with the support of IT tools.

A standard solution regarding business process management automation in enterprises is the use of workflow management systems working by the Rule-Based Reasoning approach. In such systems, the process model which is designed entirely before the implementation has to meet all needs deriving from business activity of the organization. In practice, it means that great limitations arise in process control abilities, especially in the dynamic business environment. Therefore, new kinds of workflow systems may help which typically work in more agile way e.g. following the Case-Based Reasoning approach. The paper shows another possible solution – the use of emergence theory which indicates among other conditions required to fulfill stimulation of the system (for example the business environment) to run grass-roots processes that lead to arising of new more sophisticated organizing forms. The paper also points the using opportunity of such techniques as the processing of complex events to fulfill key conditions pointed by the emergence theory.

W ostatnich latach wśród instrumentów zarządzania przedsię-biorstwem zauważalny jest wzrost znaczenia instrumentów związanych ze sferą logistyki. Szczególną rolę pełni przede wszystkim koncepcja logistyki, która może stanowić istotną determinantę zmian w zarządzaniu przedsiębiorstwem. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań Katedry Logistyki i Marketingu Uniwersytetu Opolskiego przeprowadzonych w latach 2009-2011, w ramach projektu badawczego pt. „Logistyczne determinanty zarządzania przedsiębiorstwami”. Przedmiotem badań były m.in. kompetencje menedżerów ds. logistyki, związane z procesami i zadaniami realizowanymi przez tych menedżerów w przedsiębiorstwie, a także kompetencje logistyki związane z wdrażaniem koncepcji logistyki w zarządzaniu przedsiębiorstwem.
In recent years, within business management instruments one may notice the growing importance of instruments related to the area of logistics. A very special role is assigned to logistics concept, which may be an important determinant of changes in business management. The paper presents the results of the research project named “Logistics determinants of business management”, carried out from 2009 to 2011 by the Chair of Logistics and Marketing at Opole University, Poland. The subject of the study was, among others, competencies of logistics managers, related to the processes and tasks performed by these managers in the company, as well as logistics competences related to logistics concept implementation within business management.
