    Functional conversions of the buildings, performed in the process of revitalization, usually have a significant impact on the architecture and the structure of the building. The susceptibility to transformation should be the subject of analysis, before the design process starts. There are three basic ways of converting existing buildings – refurbishment, vertical and lateral extension. Refurbishment is related to spatial changes in the interior, for example – joining the adjacent flats or inserting a mezzanine, or other conversions of the building’s interior, including the structure. Library building, in The Jacob of Paradyż University of Applied Sciences in Gorzów Wielkopolski campus, illustrates the specificity of refurbishment.

    Wśród oprogramowania dającego możliwości przeprowadzania analiz sieciowych czołowe miejsca zajmują, będący w ofercie firmy Esri, pakiet ArcGIS z rozszerzeniem Network Analyst oraz rozszerzenie pgRouting dla bazy danych przestrzennych PostGIS. Celem pracy było wykazanie cech wspólnych i różnic, jakie wiążą się z prawidłowym przeprowadzeniem trójwymiarowych analiz sieciowych w tych programach oraz z właściwą prezentacją uzyskanych wyników. Stwierdzono, że zarówno oprogramowanie komercyjne, jak i wolne oprogramowanie oferuje poprawnie działające narzędzia do analiz sieciowych w przestrzeni 3D. W programie ArcGIS szczególnie istotne było właściwe przygotowanie danych 3D, czego nie ułatwiają możliwości edycyjne i wizualizacyjne dostępnych narzędzi. Konieczne było zaproponowanie własnego rozwiązania w zakresie kontroli poprawności topologicznej. Analizy 3D są wykonywane dokładnie tak samo jak analizy 2D. Jednak w praktyce okazuje się, że prezentacja wyników analiz w środowisku 3D jest utrudniona, a niektóre opcje dostępne w 2D, w środowisku 3D nie działają poprawnie. Moduł pgRouting domyślnie ograniczony jest do przestrzeni dwuwymiarowej, lecz dzięki dostępności kodu źródłowego możliwa była autorska modyfikacja odpowiednich funkcji, co pozwoliło na przejście do przestrzeni 3D. Baza danych przeznaczona do przeprowadzania analiz sieciowych musi spełniać specyficzne wymagania stosowanych algorytmów i w związku z tym konieczne było jej zbudowanie w wieloetapowym procesie, który nie w każdym przypadku może być zautomatyzowany. PostGIS, podobnie jak inne systemy zarządzania bazami danych, nie dysponuje własnymi narzędziami do wizualizacji danych i wyników, dlatego niezbędne było wskazanie dodatkowego oprogramowania zapewniającego taką funkcjonalność.
    There are currently two pieces of software that seem to be holding the leading position in the area of network analysis, i.e. ArcGIS with Network Analyst extension by Esri and pgRouting extension for PostGIS spatial database. The aim of the study was to present the differences and similarities observed while correct execution of network analyses as well as proper presentation of results in both pieces of software are performed. The study proved that both 3D network analysis tools offered correctly operating, commercial and open source software functionality. In ArcGIS proper preparation of 3D data was essential, which, unfortunately, was not facilitated by available editing and visualization tools. For example, proposing own solution for topological correctness was necessary. 3D analyses are performed in exactly the same way as those in 2D. However, the experience show, that presentation of results for 3D data is impeded and some options available for 2D do not work properly in 3D environment. The pgRouting module is, by default, limited to 2D space. However, the accessibility of source code allowed the authors to make own modifications of particular functions, which enabled moving to 3D. As a database designed for network analyses has to meet specific requirements concerning algorithms to be used, it was necessary to develop it in a multi-step process, which may not be susceptible to automation in each case. Similarly to other database management systems, PostGIS does not offer its own tools for data and results visualization and thus it was necessary to indicate additional software with the needed functionality.

    The main topic of the following article is a process of making office spaces look more like home interiors by introducing furniture, decorative elements and finishing material traditionally used in housing. For this article use there are several examples of polish and western European office building analysed, that have been ejected in few las years. There are functional schemes with all the modifications taken into consideration, as well as elements and materials used to arrange interior spaces.

    W artykule przedstawiono alternatywę rozwiązań elewacyjno-wnętrzarskich dla kamienia naturalnego. Zaprezentowano zastosowanie imitacji panelu zarówno we wnętrzu pomieszczenia, jak i na zewnętrznych elewacjach.
    In the article there has been presented the alternative of elevation - decorative solutions for the natural stone. Presented of imitation of panel present in interior of accommodation equal as well as on external elevations. Finishing material, discussed in the article, which faithfully imitates stone, bind, clay etc. is extremely resistant to unfavorable weather conditions and UV radiation. It creates an opportunity to fix panels inside and outside buildings. Thus it is a perfect solution to make quick and solid covers which are stylish at the same time.

    Parametry obiektów edukacyjnych są podyktowane wieloma uwarunkowaniami - wymogami inwestora, który ściśle określa zakres zmian w przeprojektowywanym obiekcie, ale przede wszystkim potrzebami użytkowników. Współcześnie ważne jest uzyskanie odpowiedniego balansu pomiędzy funkcjonalnością a wrażeniem estetycznym. Jest to szansa, aby oferta edukacyjna takiego obiektu bardziej przyciągała odbiorców, a sam obiekt pod względem architektonicznym zachowywał wysoką pozycję na rynku nieruchomości. Artykuł przedstawia analizy studialne możliwości rozwiązania funkcjonalno-estetycznego wybranych stref budynku administracyjno-edukacyjnego GEOsfery w Jaworznie. Ten stosunkowo niewielki obiekt funkcjonuje od kilku lat, stanowiąc cel wycieczek edukacyjnych wciąż zwiększających się grup użytkowników z różnych przedziałów wiekowych. W projektach studialnych starano się zachować istniejący układ funkcjonalny, wzbogacając go odpowiednią estetyką i wspierając rozwiązaniami: przechowywania oraz ekspozycji zbiorów, elastycznych podziałów przestrzeni wewnętrznych, multiplikacji, a także redukcji miejsc siedzących w zależności od potrzeb itp. Zaprezentowane projekty to wynik pracy zespołów projektowych studentek Politechniki Śląskiej w Gliwicach, kierunku architektura wnętrz, nadzorowanych przez autorki artykułu.
    The educational facilities undergo many conditions - the requirements of the investor, who strictly defines the scope of changes in the redesigned facility, but above all – the need to adapt it to the needs of users. Nowadays, it is important to achieve the right balance between functionality and aesthetic impression. It is a chance that the educational offer of such a facility will attract more customers, and the facility itself will maintain a high position on the real estate market in terms of architecture. The paper presents a study analysis of the functional and aesthetic solutions of selected zones of the GEOsfera administrative and educational building in Jaworzno. This relatively small facility has been operating for several years, being the destination of educational trips for the ever increasing groups of users from various age groups. In the projects, efforts were made to maintain the existing functional layout, enriching it with appropriate aesthetics and supporting it with solutions: storing and displaying collected items, flexible divisions of internal spaces, multiplying and reducing seats depending on the needs, etc. The presented projects are the result of the work of the Silesian University of Technology students, majoring in Interior Architecture, supervised by the authors of the paper.

    Today’s approaches to the design of modern interiors have changed significantly. This is due to such reasons and conditions as: socio-economic terms of interiors’ use and service, rapid technical progress, the development of science and information technology, growing environmental requirements in accordance with the principles of sustainable development, the introduction of new building materials and technologies, accounting accessibility and national traditions, human-centered design, etc. The purpose of the article is identification of conditions, features, principles and guidelines for the design of modern interiors. The study is based on a systematic approach that defines hierarchical levels of interior design. Methods of historical and comparative analysis were also used. The article discusses the factors and conditions of modern interiors’ formation, features and principles of their functional and spatial solutions. The hierarchical levels and methodological provisions of the architectural environment design of modern interior spaces are revealed.

    W artykule opisano wpływ wprowadzonego rozwiązania poprawiającego mikroklimat wnętrza na stan ochrony akustycznej lokalu mieszkalnego znajdującego się na ostatnim piętrze budynku wykonanego w technologii uprzemysłowionej. W mieszkaniu przeprowadzono pomiary oceny skuteczności wentylacji oraz pomiary poziomu hałasu spowodowanego jej działaniem. W artykule przedstawiono odnotowane nieprawidłowości oraz propozycje prac mających na celu osiągnięcie poprawy komfortu akustycznego w mieszkaniu.
    The article describes the impact of the introduced solution improving the microclimate of interior on the state of acoustic protection of residential dwelling located on the top floor of a building made in industrialized technology. Measurements were carried out to check the effectiveness of ventilation and to determine the noise level in the apartment, in the aspect of this ventilation. The article presents irregularities and proposals to achieve acoustic comfort in the flat.

In the case of external walls the article discusses the paths of spreading of fire in the building and the function of external walls that is associated with the demand of reducing the possibility of spreading of fire to adjacent buildings.

    Pandemia COVID-19 zmieniła sposób świadczenia opieki zdrowotnej na całym świecie i wpłynęła na placówki opieki zdrowotnej, zarówno szpitalne, jak i ambulatoryjne (podróże). Trudno w tej chwili powiedzieć, czy czeka nas kolejna fala zakażeń, czy też nowe infekcje, z którymi mamy obecnie do czynienia, będą występować sezonowo i corocznie. Ponad dwa lata po wprowadzeniu restrykcyjnych ograniczeń funkcjonowanie obiektów użyteczności publicznej częściowo wraca do stanu sprzed pandemii. Jednak jednostki medyczne, szpitale, przychodnie i apteki nadal utrzymują pełny reżim sanitarny, a ich funkcjonowanie jest nadal mocno ograniczone. Publikacja opisuje optymalne propozycje aranżacji wnętrz i architektury w celu zwiększenia bezpieczeństwa personelu i pacjentów w oparciu o doświadczenia największego szpitala akademickiego w północno-zachodniej Polsce.
    The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way healthcare is delivered around the world and has impacted healthcare settings, both inpatient and outpatient (travel). It is hard to say at the moment whether we are facing the next wave of infections or the new infections that we are currently dealing with will occur seasonally and annually. More than two years after the introduction of restrictive restrictions, the functioning of public utilities is partially returning to the pre-pandemic state. However, medical units, hospitals, clinics and pharmacies still maintain a full sanitary regime, and their functioning is still severely limited. The publication describes the optimal proposals for interior design and architecture in order to increase the safety of staff and patients, based on the experience of the largest academic hospital in north-west Poland.

    Opis:
    Safety of use of the buildings refers i.a. to ensuring appropriate hygienic and sanitary conditions and also health conditions. According to the EU Directive on the energy performance of buildings, there is a need to define the conditions for the classification of objects in terms of indoor microclimate requirements. Evaluating the quality of the interior environment in buildings and specifying the requirements of people staying in them, first of all the values of thermal microclimate parameters and air quality should be taken into account. Long-term influence of disadvantageous of environmental conditions may cause or exacerbate many symptoms associated with abnormal functioning of the organism and lead to the weakness or illness. This phenomenon is called sick building syndrome, and the symptoms of the syndrome such as eyes and respiratory tract irritation, malaise, dizziness and headache or fatigue are linked to time spent in the building. The article presents the results of research on the condition of the interior environment in educational buildings, identifies factors affecting the formation of environmental conditions in the rooms and shows the influence of the interiors environment in buildings on the human body. The relationships between the basic parameters of the interior microclimate and the state of feeling satisfaction with the environmental conditions that surrounds the human are tracked. It was found that in many cases commonly used gravitational ventilation is not able to ensure the proper conditions of the interior microclimate, and the concentrations of carbon dioxide recorded in the tested rooms exceeded the applicable standards.
