Opis:
Scenario studies are seen as useful tools to support planning and decision making processes because they provide integrated projections of future trends and developments and their impacts on land use. They play an important role in facilitating cooperation and interaction at the science policy interface. This article contributes to new understandings of the role of science-based tools and instruments such as scenario studies at the science-policy interface. It uses a theoretical framework that connects the criteria of credibility, salience and legitimacy to the concepts of coproduction and boundary object to analyze the EUruralis project; a scenario study that addresses the future of agriculture and rural development in Europe. The findings demonstrate that aspects related to legitimacy contributed to the capacity of the EUruralis to function as a boundary object between the scientists and policymakers involved. They also show how cooperation in the EUruralis project resulted in joint learning and reflection. The article concludes by discussing the role of the EUruralis as a boundary object and connecting the findings to the concept of coproduction.

Opis:
The purpose of the article is an in-depth analysis of the boundary object conception introduced by J. Griesemer and S. L. Star. An attempt to describe it according to the idea of the authors and to investigate its initial sense is necessary. The author was induced to carry out such an analysis having noticed numerous simplifications and instances of superficial treatment of the issue in manifold studies referring to this idea. The article begins with a definition of the boundary object according to the seminal text of Griesemer and Star. Secondly, it points out the areas of the conception’s application illustrated with examples. In the next step, the author focuses on the cases of inconsequence in the studies using the concept, mainly in relation to Star’s comments. A possibility of intentional creation of boundary objects is also referred to, as it was from the beginning incorporated in the authors’ intention.

In this paper the statement of the problem is formulated and the mathematical model of optimization the placement of the undirected planar geometrical objects with piecewise non-linear boundaries in the multiply area is developed. It is shown the geometrical interpretation and derived the estimate of the number of restrictions in the model. On the basis of a mathematical model for finding the global extremum of the objective function was proposed modified method of branches and boundaries. It is also shown the solutions tree that takes into account the problems of optimal placement of undirected planar geometrical object with piecewise nonlinear boundaries in the multiply area, and received the complexity of this method. For locally optimal solutions of the problem modified simulated annealing method has been developed. Thus the analytical expressions for the function of energy system were received, the function, that describes the decrease of temperature over time, function that forms a new state of system. The method of formation the new state of the system was investigated in more detail, which is based on a random permutation of numbers the pair of the objects, it is also based on a consistent placement of objects according to reshuffle their numbers and determining the probability of transition to a new state. It is shown the example of determining permissible points of placement the local coordinate system of the specific geometrical object. The conclusion is that to solve practical optimization problems of placement of the undirected planar geometrical objects with piecewise non-linear boundaries in the multiply area should be used the modified simulated annealing method.

Opis:
The paper presents a methodology of solving boundary problems with uncertainty parameters based on the use of interval perturbation numbers. This methodology allows for the analysis of very complex problems with different uncertain parameters. Fuzzy Boundary Element Method (FBEM) using $ \overline{ \epsilon } $-number will be called $ \overline{ \epsilon } $-Fuzzy Boundary Element Method ($ \overline{ \epsilon } $-FBEM). Detailed discussion of the problems of computing and applications will be presented on the example of the fuzzy boundary integral equation arising from the boundary problem for the potential problems with heterogeneous, fuzzy boundary conditions of Dirichlet and Neumann type, fuzzy internal sources, fuzzy boundary and fuzzy fundamental solution. The presented methodology can be used to solve various engineering problems (e.g. in civil engineering, power engineering and others) – e.g. to analyze the temperature distribution in structural elements or elements located in the vicinity of objects or devices. In the latter case the increased temperature may be a symptom of a severe failure (e.g. power transformer overload, overexcitation or a fault) which cannot be tolerated due to the threat to the object and to the entire power system. Proposed method maybe used for electrical equipment diagnosis and in consequence as a power system failure prevention. In this paper calculation methodology is illustrated on the example of an area bounded by a square, on the left boundary of which a certain temperature is set, while on the rest of the boundaries the conditions are equal to zero. A dedicated computer program allows for the calculation of both temperature and temperature derivative for any number of boundary elements using $ \overline{ \epsilon } $-FBEM.
