Opis:
The basic economic goal of pig iron process is to produce a finished product at the highest possible quality and at the lowest possible cost. The quality of pig iron depends on the quality of raw materials used in the process, quality of fuels and process parameters. The cost of fuel is one of the basic component of cost of pig iron production. Therefore, consumption of fuels should be minimized while maintaining its high quality. The main technological fuel of this process is blast furnace coke. Very often, cheaper alternative kinds of fuels are used in the form of finer sorts of coke or alternative fuels (e.g. coal dust). However, they can be used only in a limited amount. The aim of the paper is the assessment of the selected quality parameters of stabilized coke used in the blast furnace process and the comparison of their values with requirements.

The paper studies coke quality. Blast furnace technique has been interested in iron ore charge; meanwhile coke was not studied because in those previous conditions seemed to be good enough. Nowadays, the requirements for blast furnace coke has risen, especially, requirements for coke reactivity [1]. The level of reactivity parameter is determined primarily by the composition and properties of coal mixtures for coking. The paper deals with a statistical analysis of the tightness and characteristics of the relationship between selected properties of coal mixture and coke reactivity. Software Statgraphic using both simple linear regression and multiple linear regressions was used for the calculations. Obtained regression equations provide a statistically significant prediction of the reactivity of coke, or its strength after reduction of CO2, and thus their subsequent management by change in composition and properties of coal mixture [2]. There were deter-mined indexes CSR/CRI for coke [3]. Fifty – four results were acquired in the experimental parts where correlation between index CRI and coal components were studied. For linear regresion the determinant was 55.0204%, between parameters CRI – Inertinit 21.5873%. For regression between CRI and coal components it was 31.03%. For multiply linear regression between CRI and 3 feedstock components determinant was 34.0691%. Final correlation has shown the decrease in final coke reactivity for higher ash, higher content of volatile combustible in coal increases the total coke reactivity and higher amount of inertinit in coal increases the reactivity. Generally, coke quality is significantly affected by coal processing, carbonization and maceral content of coal mixture.

Opis:
The blast furnace process is the dominant technology in worldwide iron metallurgy. The basic fuel in this process is coke. However, coke production is associated with several adverse environmental impacts. The reduction of coke consumption in a blast furnace can be achieved by injection of auxiliary fuels or by changing the parameters of the blast. The recirculation of the top gas into the process after CO2 and H2O removal and the high enrichment of the blast with oxygen are considered to be future technologies conducive to the reduction of coke consumption. The paper presents the influence of the above-mentioned technologies on the operating parameters of the blast furnace plant. The simulation calculations were performed using the formulated theoretical-empirical mathematical model of the blast furnace plant. The mathematical model of the blast furnace is built based on the mass and energy balances of its separated temperature zones. The balances of the elements and also the energy balance equation have been set up separately for the top zone of heat transfer and the lower zone of production together with the thermal reserve zone. The balances of elements and the energy balance also for the tuyére zone have been applied. The advanced data validation and reconciliation method to eliminate incompatibilities of selected balances of mass and energy of the temperature zones of the blast furnace for the so-called basic measurement of its raw materials and energy consumption indicators in the steady-state of operation has been applied. The carried out simulation calculations showed a significant saving of coke in the process under top-gas recirculation after CO2 and H2O removal and oxygen enrichment of the blast conditions.

Degassing Gas Represents A Waste During Coal Mining So Far And This Issue Is Not Effectively Solved In Ostrava Region Up Till Now Ecological Aspects, Safety, Economic Aspects. Coal Deposits Represent A Special Case In Which The Deposit Is Both A Source Of Coal And Reservoir Of Gas. For The Thing Is That, In The Process Of Coalification Of Plant Residue, Coal Bed Gas Came Into Being Of Which The Main Component Is Methane. Gas From Mining Degassing Can Be Used As A Substitute Fuel For The Blowing Of Blast Furnaces. This Would Not Only Make It Possible To Reduce The Specific Consumption Of Coke, But Also Contribute To A Better Blast Furnace. An Economic Effect Is Also Negligible If We Characterize Degassing Gas As Waste Gas.
