    Polscy piłkarze urodzeni w latach siedemdziesiątych to zbiorowość szczególna, doświadczająca w swojej sportowej biografii pełni przemian społeczno-ustrojowych zachodzących w kraju. Okres transformacji stanowił ważne tło ich wyborów życiowych, w tym przede wszystkim rodzinnych i zawodowych. Artykuł jest próbą analizy wybranych wątków ich książkowych (auto)biografii. Skupia się jednak na tych ich aspektach, które mają charakter intymny, tj. doświadczeniach, więzi, stanie ducha i ciała. Jego celem jest zatem wskazanie modalności pojawiających się w narracjach dotyczących życia piłkarzy (rodzinne, koleżeńskie, zawodowe itd.). Artykuł oparty został na analizie wszystkich ośmiu wydanych w Polsce (i spełniających przyjęte kryteria) książek.
    Polish football players born in 1970s is an unique group. Theirs careers were affected by social transformation which started in 1989. Thus the macrostructural changes remained the background for their life choices. This paper is the analysis of these footballers’ (auto)biography books. The key topic is the private experience of the mentioned historical moment. Therefore, the text is focused on the confidential plots – social bonds, family situation, friendship, love relation. In effect, it gives the „intimate portrait” of the Polish football „1970s generation”.

    Opis:
    The article contains a report of the second research workshop of our Euro-Identities project. The workshop took place immediately after collecting first data (pilot interviews). On the base of the digital recording of all sessions, the protocol carefully attempts to reconstruct the proceedings of the research workshop as a social arrangement for the generation of analytical knowledge. Therefore it can be read as a reconstruction of – in the sense of Alfred Schütz’ perspective of “Making Music Together” – “how to do together” analysis of autobiographical narrative interviews. The report dwells on the questions of how to get a first impression of the interviews, of how the European phenomenon is addressed in them and, of how to do the research steps of formal text sort analysis, structural description, analytical abstraction including the reconstruction of the overall biographical structuring and contrastive comparison. Although at this stage of analysis it is not dealt with the research step of constructing a theoretical model, phenomena of social worlds and social arenas, of European opportunity structures, of networking and establishing of social relationships, of transnational comparison, of transgressing cultural borders, of new professional initiatives and professional hybridization and of a non-essentialist self-identification with Europe are found.
    W artykule przedstawiony został drugi warsztat badawczy poświęcony analizie materiałów w projekcie Euroidentities. Spotkanie, które miało miejsce zaraz po ukończeniu zbierania wywiadów pilotażowych zostało nagrane i dzięki temu możliwe było sporządzenie dokładnego protokołu. Zapis warsztatu jest przykładem rekonstrukcji – w rozumieniu Alfreda Schütza – ‘jak robić razem’ analizę wywiadów biograficzno-narracyjnych. W artykule została zwrócona uwaga na następujące kwestie: znaczenia pierwszego wrażenia z lektury wywiadu, odpowiedzi na pytanie badawcze w jaki sposób pojawia się w nim temat Europy, jak realizować procedurę badawczą – strukturalny opis tekstu, analityczną abstrakcję, porównania kontrastowe. Chociaż na tym etapie pracy nie tworzy się modeli teoretycznych zwrócono uwagę na takie zjawiska jak: światy i areny społeczne, europejskie struktury możliwości, tworzenie sieci relacji społecznych, specyficzny typ identyfikacji europejskiej.

    This paper offers an extensive guide for researchers who wish to pay greaterattention to the reflexivity in their own research. The author provides an example ofself-observation and critical self-reflection of her own involvement in the processof doing research and being part of the moment of co-shaping (new) knowledge.The work focuses on the educational experiences of women placed in the contextof their lifelong experience, women’s learning through shared experience, and therole of cultural context in these processes. A non-standard structure was used,in which analysis of the author’s own experiences is interwoven with analysis ofthe biographies of the women studied, and the researcher’s individual analysisis compared with the group analysis among other women. The aim is to presentan interpretive perspective of feminist ethnography on these experiences andemphasizes the role of informal learning through experiencing relationships ineveryday life, including through art.

    Odpowiedź biografa prof. Jana Czochralskiego na krytyczne uwagi prof. Michała Kokowskiego dotyczące treści artykułu będącego zasadniczo zapisem referatu. Autor zwraca uwagę na ciągłą zmienność opinii i uwag o życiu i działalności Czochralskiego, wynikającą z ujawnianych stale nowych dokumentów i nowej interpretacji znanych faktów. W tej sytuacji odwoływanie się przez prof. Kokowskiego do starych danych nie jest właściwe. Autor omawia cztery przykłady błędnej interpretacji.
    Remarks on the critical comments regarding the contents of the paper published after the presentation delivered by the biographer of Prof. Jan Czochralski. Unfortunately, Prof. Kokowski used an incorrect historical approach to such a short paper. The remarks are presented in four main points.

    The aim of the article is to present the theory of social representations which is not well-known in the Polish pedagogy and which may constitute an interesting theoretical and methodological perspective for the study of the educational discourse.     The article describes an innovative method of qualitative research called collective biography writing (CBW), which is not known at all in the pedagogical research of the region of Central and Eastern Europe. CBW is focused on intensively felt, suggestive memories which are analysed collectively according to a given methodological procedure. CBW may be applied to discover complex conditioning and contexts of individual’s functioning, thanks to which we may try to answer the questions about what we really know about ourselves, others and the reality. The ultimate aim of using CBW is the exposure of what “life” as such looks like, how the world functions, what reality is like and what happens in it – the aim is understanding.

    Communists have no homeland: a portrait of Wanda Wasilewska The paper offers an analysis of a number of biographies of Wanda Wasilewska, written in different historical periods. An attempt was made to reconstruct the mechanisms that governed the functioning of Wanda Wasilewska’s communist figure in the Polish political discourse; explain how she was perceived by the society, and how it altered in the course of the Polish cultural and historical transformations. A biography of an individual gains coherence as a result of the community’s search for its identity: it serves as a building block for a coherent biography of the entire community. The writing and rewriting of the biography of Wasilewska has long been a kind of “production of communism” in Poland, and communism has been one of the most important aspects of Polish identity in the recent decades. „Komuniści (nie) mają ojczyzny...” Wanda Wasilewska jako polska (anty)bohaterka narodowaAutorka analizuje powstające w rożnych okresach historycznych biografie Wandy Wasilewskiej. Usiłuje odtworzyć mechanizmy konstruowania figury komunistki w polskim dyskursie publicznym, zbadać, jak funkcjonowała ona w społecznym odbiorze, a także ustalić, jak zmieniało się jej znaczenie w procesie przemian historycznych i kulturowych. Autorka pokazuje, że tworzenie spójnej biografii jednostki – szczególnie jednostki ważnej w historii danej zbiorowości – dokonuje się w odpowiedzi na tożsamościowe poszukiwania wspólnoty: służy wytworzeniu zbiorowej biografii jako koherentnej całości. Zwraca uwagę, że pisanie biografii Wasilewskiej jako komunistki było i wciąż jest swoistym „wytwarzaniem komunizmu” w Polsce. Komunizm zaś w szerokim planie jest ważnym – jeśli nie najważniejszym w ostatnich dziesięcioleciach – komponentem polskiej zbiorowej tożsamości.

    The article presents an example of poststructuralist interpretation of biography episode written by students on the topic: “Becoming someone”. The poststructuralist analysis focuses on the perception of the subject-in-process, requires destabilization ofrational stable andunifiedconcepts.It aims at researching the functions and results of regularities of a process in case of author’s own research – the process of becoming a teacher in classes I-III. People engaged in CBW have a chance to understand their own situation by trying to answer the questions concerning what we really know about ourselves and the reality. The article discusses chosen theoretical assumptions and elements of the methodological procedure applied in the method of collective biography writing. The article is closed with remarks for the work with students which were verifiedin practice. This may help other researchers when they start working with this method.

    Hermeneutics has numerous meanings. One of them is the understanding of it as the art of interpreting spoken or written text. It has also gained the status of methodology within humanistic science. The applications of hermeneutics interpretation to analyse philosophy or literary texts is widely known. The question is whether it may be applied in the research carried out on the ground of empirical science about a human; namely psychology. In psychology, the understanding of a human as ‘projecting existence’ representative for the personal – existential approach, is the closest to the humanistic sciences. Due to these reasons, hermeneutics as understanding methodology may find application in the research on the noetic level of human development which is not subject to biological or environmental determination, being the area where axiological motivation is executed. The historic and contextual conception of developmental experiences by means of the methodology which understands and not only explains human behaviour, allows to discover new areas of functioning of the human psyche. The article also presents the rules applied while making use of hermeneutics interpretation of autobiographical narration on the ground of psychology backed up with their philosophical basis.
    Hermeneutyka posiada wiele znaczeń. Jednym z nich jest jej rozumienie jako sztuki interpretowania tekstu mówionego lub pisanego. Zyskała również status metodologii w zakresie nauk humanistycznych. Znane są zastosowania interpretacji hermeneutycznej do analiz tekstów filozoficznych i literackich. Czy jednak można ją stosować w badaniach prowadzonych na gruncie empirycznej nauki o człowieku jaką jest psychologia? W psychologii najbliższe naukom humanistycznym wydaje się być rozumienie człowieka jako „projektującej się egzystencji”, reprezentatywne dla podejścia personalistyczno-egzystencjalnego. Z tego powodu hermeneutyka jako metodologia rozumiejąca może znaleźć zastosowanie w badaniach nad noetycznym poziomem rozwoju człowieka, który to poziom nie podlega determinacji biologicznej i środowiskowej, stanowiąc obszar realizowania się motywacji aksjologicznej. Historyczne i kontekstowe ujęcie doświadczeń rozwojowych przy pomocy metodologii rozumiejącej, a nie wyłącznie wyjaśniającej ludzkie zachowania, pozwala odkrywać nowe obszary funkcjonowania ludzkiej psychiki. W artykule przedstawione zostały zasady obowiązujące przy stosowaniu hermeneutycznej interpretacji narracji autobiograficznych na gruncie psychologii wraz z ich filozoficzną podstawą.

    Michał Salamonik published his doctoral dissertation in 2017. The book addresses an important topic of the presence of the bourgeois in the early modern Polish-Lithuanian state. This is a biographical account and a study of the career of Francesco De Gratta, a citizen of Gdańsk of Italian origin. The purpose of the article is to present the subject matter from the perspective of original methodology used by the author: social network analysis, evaluation of the narrative based on it and the effectiveness of its use in historiography. It also contains reflections on the legitimacy of using studies of relationship and networks (family, work, financial) and broadly understood quantitative methods for biographical research. The article also poses a question of the extent to which one can speak of planning or deliberately constructing the bourgeois career within the social and political structures of the seventeenth-century Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The presented analysis has shown that the application of the SNA methodology for creating biographies should be considered interesting and useful, especially when the social connections of the main character are closely connected with other spheres of his activity. It seems that a study from the social network perspective gives the entitlement to studying characters that are understood as integral elements of social processes and relations, which adds a great research value of this approach.

    In the article we argue for a reconstructive and subject-oriented approach to data collection and analysis in order to reconstruct perspectives of pupils with linguistically and spatially discontinuous school biographies as a basis for needs analysis. The paper takes an in-depth look at a narrative interview with such a pupil using the Documentary Method. Based on the analysed interview passage and with recourse to the praxeologically extended sociocultural theories of SLA, we derive initial implications for schools with pupils with migratory experiences. One crucial assumption is that, in order to create better educational opportunities for children with migratory experiences, school staff need to systematically develop contingency competence. By contingency competence we mean the sensitivity and awareness of the principal openness of human life forms and their diverse possibilities for linguistic, material, and practical expression. Conclusions are drawn on what the required competencies contain and how an inclusive school can be created.

    Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zaprezentowanie jednego ze sposobów uogólniania materiału jakościowego w oparciu o założenia metody wywiadu narracyjnego – ukazanie sensu rekonstruowania struktur procesowych zgodnie z zaleceniami Fritze Schütze w poddawanych analizie narracjach. W opracowaniu zaprezentowane są zrekonstruowane, na podstawie zgromadzonego materiału empirycznego, wzory indywidualnych doświadczeń i przeżyć biograficznych badanych kobiet odnoszących sukcesy zawodowe – struktury procesowe (te wywodzące się z koncepcji F. Schűtze, jak i te zakorzenione w zgromadzonym przeze mnie materiale empirycznym, poprzez co wzbogacam teorię autora).
    The aim of this article is to present one way of generalizing qualitative material based on narrative narrative methods – I show the meaning of reconstructing process structures according to F. Schűtze’s recommendations in narrative analysis. In the paper I present reconstructed, on the basis of collected empirical material, patterns of individual biographical experiences of women who have professional success – process structures (those derived from F. Schűtze’s concept, and those rooted in empirical evidence, thanks to this the author’s concept has been enriched).

    Psychologiczna perspektywa ciągłości życia pozwala spojrzeć na twórczość jako świadka tego, co autor robi z własnym życiem i sobą samym, jak kształtuje i postrzega własną tożsamość, historię życia, jakie zmiany zachodzą w czasie jego trwania. W artykule prezentujemy próbkę możliwych efektów przyjęcia takiej perspektywy i postępowania badawczego, dla którego punktem wyjścia jest pytanie: Co wybrzmiewa wyraźnie w twórczości autorów domykających własne życie i twórczość? Następnie podejmujemy próbę zrekonstruowania drogi autora, która do tego wyraźnego brzmienia doprowadziła. Nakreślona próbka odwołuje się do twórczości głównie Wisławy Szymborskiej i Edwarda Stachury, choć pojawiają się też wyraźne odniesienia do Zbigniewa Herberta.
    The psychological perspective of life continuity allows us to look at creativity as a witness of what the author does with his / her life and himself / herself; how he / she shapes and perceives his / her own identity, life story, what changes occur during his / her lifetime. In this article we present a sample of possible effects of adopting such a perspective and research conduct, for which the starting point is the question: What resounds clearly in the works of authors closing their own life and work? Next, we try to reconstruct the path which has led the author to this clear sound. The presented sample refers mainly to the works of Wisława Szymborska and Edward Stachura, although there are also clear references to Zbigniew Herbert.

    Opis:
    Against the backdrop of an increasing interest in visual methods in social research, this paper examines some theoretical foundations of human (inter-)action by reflecting on the interplay between senses, the body, and biography. The main purpose of the paper is to combine an integral, non-Cartesian concept of the self as body (respectively the lived body as self) with biographical research—thus enriching research on the body, as well as on biography. Criticizing the Cartesian split of body and mind, classical phenomenological (Leib) and recent concepts of the body (“embodiment”) are sketched, resulting in a processual model of the sensual construction of the lived and living body in its environment. Given the interplay of bodily foundations of the self and processes of biographical structuring, so far, distant fields of research are converged. Some suggestions for conceptual improvements, an attentional shift to body aspects, respective research topics, and the extension of methods exceeding the narrative biographical interview in biographical research are indicated.
