Opis:
To compare the different motivation, intention and behaviour between Chinese and Japanese consumers in naturally dyed fashion consumption we collected 301 Chinese samples and 302 Japanese samples and used a structural equation model (SEM) to analyse the consumption behaviour of naturally dyed apparel based on the planned behaviour theory (TPB) and cross-cultural sustainable consumption framework (CCSC). The results indicate that attitude, social norms and perceived behaviour control (PBC) impact naturally dyed fashion consumption intention and behaviour. Among these relations, intention has a controlling influence on the relationship between subjective factors and actual consumption behaviour. PBC directly affects consumer behaviour. Moreover, the belief system and material source have a significant influence on all TPB constructs, wherein material source has more influence. Comparing China and Japan, attitude has a stronger impact on intention for Chinese than Japanese, but PBC influences Japanese intention more. Theoretically, this paper analyses the factors forming the difference in the strength of the TPB model from a cross-cultural perspective. The differences in Chinese and Japanese consumption behaviours also offer practical insights for the industrial development of natural dyeing.

Opis:
Negotiation is an interaction that happens in multi-agent systems when agents have conflicting objectives and must look for an acceptable agreement. A typical negotiating situation involves two agents that cannot reach their goals by themselves because they do not have some resources they need or they do not know how to use them to reach their goals. Therefore, they must start a negotiation dialogue, taking also into account that they might have incomplete or wrong beliefs about the other agent’s goals and resources. This article presents a negotiating agent model based on argumentation, which is used by the agents to reason on how to exchange resources and knowledge in order to achieve their goals. Agents that negotiate have incomplete beliefs about the others, so that the exchange of arguments gives them information that makes it possible to update their beliefs. In order to formalize their proposals in a negotiation setting, the agents must be able to generate, select and evaluate arguments associated with such offers, updating their mental state accordingly. In our approach, we will focus on an argumentation-based negotiation model between two cooperative agents. The arguments generation and interpretation process is based on belief change operations (expansions, contractions and revisions), and the selection process is a based on a strategy. This approach is presented through a high-level algorithm implemented in logic programming. We show various theoretical properties associated with this approach, which have been formalized and proved using Coq, a formal proof management system. We also illustrate, through a case study, the applicability of our approach in order to solve a slightly modified version of the well-known home improvement agents problem. Moreover, we present various simulations that allow assessing the impact of belief revision on the negotiation process.

Opis:
Prezentowane sieci wielomodalne zostały opracowane w szkieletowym systemie doradczym MMNET i dotyczą diagnozowania stanu technicznego obiektu stanowiącego fizyczną miniaturyzację instalacji przemysłowej stosowanej, np. w przemyśle chemicznym. Przeprowadzone badania porównawcze pozwoliły określić zalety i wady badanych sieci.
The paper deals with comparative studies of multimodal statement networks. Section 1 contains description of the concept of a multimodal network and a statement. A belief (Bayesian) network as well as a network of necessary and sufficient conditions (exact and approximate) are briefly described in Section 2. Section 3 is the most important part of the paper. It shows that the considered networks can be constructed by means of the MMNET system [4]. Fig. 3 presents the considered technical object which exemplifies a physical miniaturization of an industrial installation used, e.g. in a chemical or food industry. The object operation is illustrated in Fig. 4. It was decided to consider 12 possible technical states of the object including so-called complex states, i.e. the cases when at least 2 elements of the object were faulty. Active diagnostic experiments were conducted in order to obtain sets of data necessary for identification of the examined networks (diagnostic models). Comparison was performed on the basis of the results obtained from the identified models (e.g. Tabs. 2, 3 and 4). In consequence, it was possible to determine advantages and disadvantages of the networks. Tab. 5 shows that comparison. Belief networks are used in many different domains also in technical diagnostics. It seems that multimodal statement networks exemplify an interesting alternative because they have got many advantages especially a possibility of constructing models as a result of integration of independently identified component networks and a possibility of reasoning on the basis of inaccurate and partly contradictory data.
