    Opis:
    The paper presents results of the survey on functioning of agricultural farms in the area of Kampinos National Park. A lot of hindrances and conflicts, especially of socio-economic nature, were revealed, which seems to reflect inefficient adaptation of Polish standards to EU standards. It is therefore necessary to set up a new strategy of protected area development. To this end legal, financial and educational instruments need to be taken advantage of Experiences of selected Community countries show that eradication of the mentioned conflicts and hindrances is apparently possible.

    Opis:
    The paper presents results regarding limitations (barriers) in mineral deposit prospecting (exploration) in Europe. Five potential barriers have been identified, which require further reflection to find proper solutions: 1) existing land use, including forms of nature conservation, residential, agricultural or areas used for recreational activities; 2) the costs of exploration and mining activities; 3) public perceptions and negative attitudes towards the exploration andminingindustry;4)thesustainabilityandenvironment;5)governancestructures and regulatory and processes. Analysis of mining conflicts indicates that improving the image of mining is a priority. The economic security of our country and Europe depends on it. It seems crucial to identify correctly the sources and mechanism of conflicts on the social-political-environmental background. While working out the strategy of housing the image of mining, one should pay attention to benefits for the region and the country from obtaining raw materials, and new values of natural environment elements: landscape and wildlife habitat, showing what the world would look like without raw materials, educating society from the youngest age.

    Opis:
    In this article, the materials used for EBC coatings, representing next stage in the development of heat-resistant layers, and thermal barrier coatings are reviewed. In the introduction, the design of gas turbine is characterized, as well as the materials used for the hot part components and the requirements for protective coatings. Ceramic materials that can be an alternative to currently used nickel superalloys for turbine blades are also described. The requirements for EBC coatings were analyzed and then the various types of EBC coatings were characterized, as well as their degradation mechanisms.
    W artykule dokonano krótkiego przeglądu materiałów stosowanych na powłoki EBC (environmental barrier coatings) reprezentujących kolejny etap zaawansowania warstw żaroodpornych i powłokowych barier cieplnych (TBC – thermal barrier coatings). Opisano konstrukcję turbiny gazowej i materiały stosowane do produkcji elementów części gorącej oraz wymagania w zakresie powłok ochronnych. Opisane zostały również materiały ceramiczne, które mogą być alternatywą dla obecnie stosowanych nadstopów niklu używanych do wytwarzania łopatek turbin. Przeprowadzono analizę wymagań dotyczących powłok EBC, a następnie scharakteryzowano poszczególne rodzaje tych powłok, a także mechanizmy ich degradacji.

    The paper presents the idea of the Community Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) and experiences of polish organizations in its implementation. The author shows how the benefits of the implementation of the EMAS, but also examines the barriers and difficulties in its start-up. In the EU and EEA (European Economic Area) register of EMAS (as of 31.03.2009) there were 4331 organizations and over 6896 objects. As shown by the results of studies conducted by the author, this system, despite of the obvious benefits to society in Poland is still unknown. As of 31.03.2009, in Poland a total of 17 organizations, compared to 1419 organizations in Germany or 1063 organizations in Spain, and 978 organizations in Italy, and even 36 organizations in the Czech Republic, is very few. Both the scientific community and public institutions should integrate into the wider sustainable development and promoting the benefits of the implementation of EMAS in the organization. Sustainable development is essential to the life of humans, living organisms are not exacerbated, and at the same time, the economy developed, the objectives can be achieved through the voluntary implementation of EMAS.

    W pracy przestawiono realizację programu rolnośrodowiskowego w województwie warmińsko-mazurskim przez wybraną do badań grupę rolników. Pokazano podstawowe motywy, którymi rolnicy kierowali się, przystępując do programu. Wskazano, które pakiety i dlaczego cieszyły się największym zainteresowaniem respondentów. Uzyskano odpowiedzi rolników, które instytucje z otoczenia rolnictwa pomagały im w realizacji pakietów oraz jakie były główne przyczyny wycofywania się z realizacji programu rolnośrodowiskowego. W konkluzji stwierdzono, że program rolnośrodowiskowy jest istotnym narzędziem, służącym ochronie środowiska przyrodniczego na obszarach wykorzystywanych rolniczo, oraz że znaczenie tego programu w obecnej i przyszłej polityce rozwoju obszarów wiejskich będzie znacząco wzrastać.
    The paper presents the accomplishment of agri-environmental programme in Warmia and Mazury Province by selected group of farmers. Basic reasons that motivated farmers to join agrienvironmental programmes are presented. Packages which appeared most popular and interesting for farmers are listed. The farmers responded which institutions did offer a support in package realization and what were the main reasons of farmers' withdrawal from agri-environmental programmes. It was concluded that agri-environmental programmes were the basic instrument for environmental protection in rural areas and that their importance will be markedly increasing in present and future policy of the development of rural areas.
