    Opis:
    In order to characterize the dynamic behaviour of a back-to-back planetary gear, experimental and numerical modal analysis techniques are achieved. Rotational and translational modal deflections are highlighted. Natural frequencies are compared to the results from the lumped-parameter model. The modes are presented in the numerical studies in low-frequency and high-frequency bands. Distributions of modal kinetic and strain energies are studied.

    Opis:
    The paper covers the theoretical background and tests of two asynchronous squirrel cage generators connected to voltage source inverters working in parallel. Inverters were connected in parallel by their intermediate direct current circuits by means of auctioneering diodes, and then to a DC power network. The real-time control algorithm of digital signal processor DSP and field-programmable gate array FPGA was used to achieve proper excitation of two different power machines, and to maintain high enough levels of direct current link voltage. Windings of both generators are fed by use of so-called machine side inverters. The asynchronous generator is a voltage source inverter controlled by a field-oriented control algorithm based on the current machine model. To prove robustness of the chosen algorithm, different types of load were applied while generators and inverters worked in parallel.

    Opis:
    The main goal of this article is to present preliminary results of empirical research on the substitutability of cash return to shareholders in companies listed on the Stock Exchange in the form of cash dividend and share buyback. For the realization of the objective it has been adopted to develop the research hypothesis stating that the shares repurchases done on the Warsaw Stock Exchange are – according to the cash dividend – more and more frequently used form of returning cash to shareholders. The paper is divided into two parts. In theoretical one, there are shown some views on substitution hypothesis and exhibited the results of surveys made by other researchers. The second part is practical research conducted among polish public companies.

    The aim was to evaluate if rehabilitation procedures including occupational health (OH) and workplace participation increase return to work (RTW) rates among patients with subacute and chronic low back pain (LBP). A systematic review of randomized controlled trials was conducted using the PubMed and Cochrane databases. Main outcomes were RTW and days of sick leave. Interventions needed to be multidisciplinary including both OH and active workplace involvement in rehabilitation. Out of 1073 potentially eligible references, 8 met the inclusion criteria. Three studies had OH and 5 case managers involved in rehabilitation. Rehabilitation involving both OH and workplace improved RTW and decreased the number of sick leave days among LBP patients. Having case managers involved had no effect in RTW. In order to improve RTW, workplace visits and work ability meetings (WAMs) between OH and workplace are essential components in the rehabilitation process among patients with chronic LBP. Based on the study results, the authors suggest utilizing these co-operative interventions with workplaces in OH. High quality research investigating only the effect of WAMs in OH setting is needed in future.

    The aim of the paper is to critically analyse the documentary series Wracajcie, skąd przyszliście [Go Back to Where You Came From], broadcast by the commercial television station TVN in December 2018. The people participating in the pro-gramme were supposed to represent/embody the polarised opinions of the Polish society on (accepting) refugees, so they were according to the “three for/three against” model. The group, together with Piotr Kraśko who conduct-ed the programme, visited refugee camps and centres in Germany, Austria, Serbia, Greece and Iraq to confront their opinions with the people they met there. The declared aim of the programme, in fact, was to find an answer to the main question: should Poland accept refugees or, as the title says, should they go back to where they came from?

    Victoire, a student at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art, committed suicide when she was only twenty-four years old. This death, inspired by Greek tragedies, reveals a gesture that is both heroic and symptomatic of an era. In his play, Wajdi Mouawad questions the depth of the deadly gesture of suicide as well as fate of death. By analyzing the funeral rites evoked in the play, we will see how Victoire's friends engage in a process of idealizing death, making Victoire a modern heroine. The gesture of death transforms into that of a gesture of hope, leading them towards a surge of life itself.
