Opis:: This paper discusses a historical evolution of the concept of solidarity: from its clearly anti-ecclesiastical sense up to its entirely Christian conception. The concept itself is of French origin and it designates close and active social cooperation in attaining common objectives. The notion was frequently evoked by the 19th-century social movements and used as an antithesis for the Christian teaching about the love of the neighbour. The sense of the notion changed with the rise of the anticommunist protests of the Polish workers in the late 20th century, who chose Solidarity for the name of their trade union. An important role in promoting the changed idea of solidarity was played by the moral authority of the Blessed John Paul II, who incorporated this notion in his teaching and developed it further.

Opis:: On the route of the third pilgrimage of Pope John Paul II to Poland, which took place from June 8 to 14, 1987 was Tarnów. Holy Father Pope John Paul II arrived to Tarnow in the late evening of June 9 and left in the afternoon of the next day. During this time, he met with the large number of faithful people who came from across the South–East of Poland and beyond. During Mass on June 10 he celebrated to the glory of the altars Karolina Kózka who was murdered by a Russian soldier on November 18, 1914. He also met with the clergy in the Cathedral Square in Tarnów. Activities that were related to the protection of Pope John Paul II during his visit in Tarnów were given the codename ,,Aurora II”. During Popes visit In Tarnow there were appointed head of security staff and several operational teams. Tarnow SB officers were supported by the officers from neighboring provinces. The documents related to this task were in the briefcase 8 I 1987, code-named object file "Pilgrim”.

Opis:: This contribution sets out to present an interesting aspect of the life of Card. Augusto Hlond, which shows his unfailing faith in the intercession of Mary in the history of mankind. It is an examination of the impact of the prophetic vision of the victory of Mary over the atheistic communist political system, which Card. Hlond had before he died. The socio-political circumstances of the origin of that way of seeing things are mentioned. At the centre of the study is the extraordinary effects in the pastoral activity of Card. Wyszyński and the Polish Bishops. In fact Card. Wyszyński recognised the powerful unaccustomed creative force of the prophecy of Mary of Victory in planning and implementing an extremely effective pastoral programme of moral renewal and of the evangelisation of Polish society, especially in view of the preparation of the Polish Nation for the Millennium of Baptisim (1966), through the Great Novena to the Madonna. This Marian dimension of pastoral activity – that, despite the criticisms, was totally concentrated on Christ – also made a decisive contribution to what non-Catholics were saying in the defence of the freedom of Polish citizens, and received a positive response outside Poland. In addition to that, the article also refers to the perception of this Marian prophecy in the Petrine ministry of John Paul II, who on not a few occasions mentioned this victorious vision of Mary by Card. Hlond. Although it is not spoken of explicitly, nevertheless a direct connection between Hlond, Wyszyński and John Paul II is to be understood: the particular Marian dimension of their pastoral activity. The link is explicitly confirmed in the three stained glasss windows – containing their images – placed in the second section of the chapel that contains the venerated Icon of the Black Madonna (Częstochowa–Jasna Góra).
