Opis:
A 250 MeV superconducting compact cyclotron, based on an original concept from H. Blosser (NSCL) and to be designed and manufactured by ACCEL (D), is being developed for the proton therapy project PROSCAN at PSI. We have used the general purpose three dimensional particle tracking program TRACK, developed at PSI, in the configuration of the 250 MeV cyclotron to perform studies of the beam dynamics and to derive important parameters describing the beam properties. Detailed tracking studies have been performed in the central region and in the extraction region. Examples of our ongoing studies are discussed to demonstrate the capabilities of the program TRACK.

In this paper I intend to review some theories of the article, paying attention to the relations they establish between reference and +/–definiteness of a noun phrase (NP). The prototypes of +/–definiteness in Spanish are the definite and indefinite articles and NPs determined by them. Nevertheless, the actual reference of a NP depends mostly on its use (a speech act) and varies according to its pragmatic context. Reference and definiteness are mutually related concepts accompanied by pragmatic and semantic implications. I wish to make a critical overview of some proposals in this field of research.

The preliminary reference as an appeal of the Court of Justice of the European Union presents many complexities and complicated interpretations over time, given that we have a national judge in the scene of the appeal process, often creating problems but also solutions for greater effectiveness of the law of the European Union and respect for domestic law. The preliminary ruling aims to resolve disputes between internal jurisdictions and evaluate compatibility with EU law, especially in the national procedural sector. Ensuring a postponement of the EU and, above all, protecting the rights of individuals in a concrete, complete and effective way is still questionable research, not so much on a theoretical level but also on a procedural one.

The definite article in the Modern Nordic languages is a suffix, etymologically related to a demonstrative. The form is not attested in runic inscriptions, the oldest linguistic sources, but first appears in Icelandic sagas as well as in Swedish and Danish legal codices from 13th century onwards. However, in these texts it does not appear with the same regularity as in modern languages.The Old Swedish form constitutes an intermediate form between a demonstrative, from which it is derived, and the article it has become in Modern Swedish. In the oldest texts it appears in contexts where demonstratives can only be found sporadically and its form suggests it no longer is a demonstrative. At the same time it is not yet obligatory.The aim of this paper is to show the grammaticalization of the definite article as a gradual, dynamic process, involving changes in the form and functional scope of the grammaticalizing item and to consider the properties of the Old Swedish form -in, derived from the distal demonstrative hin ‘that’.

The advice article is one of the multiple forms of expression in use among general lifestyle magazines aimed at women. Its shape, both style and structure-wise, allows authors to exhaust all the possibilities of persuasive action, which is typical for this group of magazines. The analysis of the materials, taken from ten separate magazines published in the first quarter of 2016, shows that the stylistic range of advice articles is not sophisticated, and so their style is definitely not the most important factor which determines the pleasure of reading. It is also possible to notice that in the down-market magazines (‘Dobre Rady’, ‘Naj’, ‘Pani Domu’, ‘Tina’) this type of an article is usually produced in a form of a corpus (body) made of modules, using the formula of a register. These texts are smaller in size and compositionally more simple (short sentences, usually single sentences or simple relative clauses), with regular use of a question-answer configuration, with exclamations to show emotions, and lists. The act of giving advice is generally based on direct, specific instructions, formulated in a direct style, appropriate for the ‘parenetic’ (persuasive) character of the publication. The editorial boards of magazines such as ‘Olivia’ or ‘Swiat Kobiety’ heavily emphasize the professionalism of their guidance. The authors clearly display their intent to create a more friendly relationship with their female readers, but at the same time encourage them to follow the line of argument more carefully and to think for themselves. In these texts the syntax is more complex, more varied rhetorical terms are used, and the signals of mutual dialogue are present; the factual, graphic and cognitive layer of a publication blends with its practical usage in a much better way.

The paper deals with the problem of definite article in the Gothic Bible. More specifically, it concentrates on the differences and similarities of use between the target language, i.e. Gothic, and the source language, i.e. Greek, with special attention being paid to the case of the article – nominative, genitive, dative or accusative. It is part of a larger endeavor aiming at the analysis of the whole Gothic Bible in this respect. This time the Gospel of John is taken into consideration, following an earlier study which concentrated on the Gospel of Matthew. In the paper it will not only be observed how frequently Gothic omits the defi nite article in places where Greek uses it in the Gospel of John, but also in what way the cases of the definite article vary in both languages due to their grammatical specificities.

Opis:
While titles in scientific journals in general have attracted considerable interest, titles in medical research seem not to have been examined quite extensively. In these few studies, attention has been paid primarily to the form and length of titles as well as to their content. What is also emphasised is the need for discussion and further research on the topic in order to establish consistent guidelines regarding the formulation of clear and precise titles, which would aid journal editors, authors and readers. This paper constitutes an attempt to examine practices of formulating titles in medical case reports in Polish, following the study of F. Salager-Meyer et al. (2013a), in which title length, structure and content were considered as well.

Over the past three decades, under the infl uence of the development of electronic techniques and changes in the awareness of media recipients arising from the freedom of speech, reportage has evolved and a new genre, i.e. a viral article, has occurred. After 1989, reporters, relishing the hint of freedom, began to depart from the habits of the passing (authoritarian) epoch and make changes to the poetics of the genre. These changes concern the following spheres: the topic taken up by reporters; the form (structure, shape); the language; the reporter’s attitudes; the media. Before 1989, journalistic texts had been addressed to the educated reader who was able to understand many overtones, understatements, and hints, and currently, authors of reportages and viral articles talk about the reality and the world surrounding them in a straightforward manner, apply the simplest stylistic solutions and devices in order to fi nd the shortest way to the recipient’s imagination, and thus to the largest possible group of readers.

This paper analyses the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights on the rights of defense as enshrined in Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights. In particular, it assesses Strasbourg jurisprudence on the right to be heard and on the right to access documents. The paper considers whether the practice in EU competition law procedures complies with the fair trial standards that follow from Strasbourg judgments. Based on this assessment, the paper provides an answer to the question whether there is an overcompensation or undercompensation of fundamental rights protection in EU competition law procedures.
Ce rapport analyse la jurisprudence de la Cour Européenne des droits de l’homme sur les droits de la défense stipulés dans l’article 6 de la Convention européenne des droits de l’homme. Principalement, il apporte une analyse de la jurisprudence sur le droit d’être entendu et le droit d’accès aux documents. Le rapport considère si la pratique dans le droit de la concurrence de l’UE est en accord avec les normes d’un procès équitable découlées de la jurisprudence de Strasbourg. De cela, ce rapport répond à la question s’il y a une surcompensation quant à la protection des droits fundamentaux dans les procédures en droit de la concurrence, ou plutôt le contraire

Opis:
This is a study of the effects of temperature of injection mold on the injection molded article. By supplying water of the proper temperature in the cooling line of mold in the cooling process, the mold was the appropriate temperature, and the deformation of the injection molded article was examined according to the mold temperature. In this study, we conducted simulation analysis and experiments, and the results were analyzed. The minimum deformation of the injection molded article model obtained by supplying 50°C water in the cooling line is 0.003 mm, and the maximum deformation was 0.813 mm. Injection molded article models obtained by supplying 20°C water were found to be a minimum of 0.002 mm, with deformation of up to 0.761 mm. When comparing both conditions, the error rate of injection molded article obtained by supplying 20°C water in the mold cooling line was lower by about 0.18%.
