    Artykuł jest poświęcony ikonie Matki Bożej Ladeńskiej (inne nazwy – Ladańska, Ladzieńska) z bazyliańskiego monasteru w Małych Ladach położonych niedaleko Mińska (Białoruś), otoczonej kultem lokalnym od czasu powstania w 1 poł. XVIII do 1. poł. XX w. Ikona była kopią ikony Matki Boskiej Żyrowickiej i jej kult był pochodną kultu bardziej czczonej ikony Żyrowickiej, nasilonego po jej koronacji w 1730 r. oraz przypadkowym odsłonięciem jej kopii w cerkwi św. Sergiusza i Bachusa w Rzymie podczas remontu w 1718 r. Oba te motywy odcisnęły się w historii ikony z Lad. Najwcześniejsze wiadomości legendarne o powstaniu kultu ikony są zapisane w dwóch wierszach z 1744 r. zachowane w rękopisemnym zbiorze tekstów religijnych, dodane w aneksach do artykułu.
    The article is devoted to the icon of Our Lady of Lady from the Basilian monastery in Malyia Lady located not far from Minsk (Belarus). The cult of the icon was local and existed from the first half of the 18th century till the first half of the 20th century. The icon was a copy of the icon of Our Lady of Žyrovicy and its cult was closely related to that of the icon of Our Lady of Žyrovicy that strengthened after the coronation in 1730 and occasional discovery of its copy in the Santi Sergio e Bacco church in Rome during the renovation in 1718. These both motives were reflected in the history of icon from Lady. The earliest legendary reference on the origin of the icon cult are contained in two poems dating back to 1744 which have preserved in a hand-written set of religious texts and attached to the article.

    Opis:
    The present analysis of military operations carried out by Tatar Hordes in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries has shown that these operations were basically shaped by asymmetric actions. Their main characteristics were secrecy of action up to the moment of attack, use of information-and-intelligence warfare struggle instruments, a total character of operations taken against civilians, their material resources and economic infrastructure, with use of terrorist tactics and means of psychological impact that aimed at intimidating the community under attack. The actions of Tatar Hordes were primarily focused on non-military aspects and took advantage not only of classic military tools but also a combination of political measures and instruments as well as those typical of economy, these including a variety of economic and demographic pressures. Pursuing asymmetric action was in the hands of the Giray (Gerey) dynasty one of the most important tools enabling them to efficiently achieve their political goals in the international arena and to support the economic development of the Crimean Khanate through permanent transfers of slaves and tangible property of various sorts.

    Opis:
    The article investigates the interconfessional polemical literature as a valuable source offering an insight into the major values of the society of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the 16th–17th centuries. These texts also help understanding phenomena other than the merely religious ones. In the debate, juridical and political arguments were used too. We focus on the case study of Hipacy Pociej’s Antirrēsis (Ruthenian: 1599; Polish: 1600), written in response to Marcin Broniewski’s Apokrisis (1597). Pociej, who had an outstanding political career before becoming a Uniate bishop, mastered these arguments perfectly. His work is imbued with the mentality of the communitas nobilium, which also played a part in his lexical choices.
