Status prawny tego rodzaju materiałów archiwalnych posiada ściśle określone konsekwencje zarówno w obszarze ich gromadzenia, opracowania, jak i udostępniania. Artykuł stanowi pierwszą próbę ukazania różnorodności spuścizn znajdujących się w Archiwum Archidiecezjalnym w Katowicach i zarysowania problemów związanych z tą specyficzną grupą źródeł archiwalnych.
In the church historical archives gathering archival materials created by organizational units of the Roman Catholic Church, the legacy of priest engaged in scientific activity is also preserved. The legal status of this sort of archival materials implies definite consequences in the area of gathering, processing as well as sharing. The article is the first attempt to show the variety of heritage placed in the Archdiocese Archives in Katowice, as well as to outline the problems related to this specific group of archival sources.

The documents currently published come from fragmentary archive of the cathedral chapter of Lutsk, which is part of the Diocese Archive of Lutsk (the deposit in the Centre for Museums Libraries and Church Archives - ABMK in Polish). They show the cathedral chapter in Lutsk in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century - personnel (including biographical data of some people), the obligations of its members, salary of both prelates and canons, as well as the common property of the chapter. The first and most detailed document (from 1797) also includes other cathedral clergymen connected with the cathedral (and the cathedral parish), that is the members of the collegiates: vicars, „mansjonarze”, „angeliści” (the priests of lower rank in the church hierarchy), and the names of lecturers and students of the cathedral seminary. The documents were produced during the territorial reorganization of the Catholic Church in Russia, made in 1798 by the nuncio L. Litt on behalf of Pope Pius VI. The Diocese of Lutsk (with the cathedral chapter in Lutsk) was connected by personal union (Aequana principaliter) with the Diocese of Zhytomyr, whose cathedral chapter was in Zhytomyr.

Opis:
Due to the digital and post-humanist revolution observed over the recent years, the Polish state archives have faced a difficult problem of choosing the right direction in organizing archival records. A temporary break in their typical activity, which has been caused by the transfer of records to the digital version (retroconversion), enables archivists to reflect upon the ultimate way of organizing files. The first suggestions of methodological changes have already been put forward. How do archivists respond to these changes? The following article is based on a survey conducted among state archives’ employees and discusses their opinions on the way records are and should be organized.
Polskie archiwa państwowe pod wpływem rewolucji cyfrowej i zwrotu posthumanistycznego stoją na przed trudnym wyborem kierunku działań w zakresie opracowania materiałów archiwalnych. Okresowe odejście od opracowania, spowodowanego procesem przenoszenia ewidencji archiwalnej do wersji cyfrowej (retrokonwersja) sprzyja próbie zastanowienia się, jakie to opracowanie po zakończeniu tej akcji ma być. Pierwsze propozycje metodycznych zmian ujrzały już światło dzienne. Co o kierunku tych zmian myślą archiwiści? Artykuł powstał na podstawie analizy ankiety przeprowadzonej wśród pracowników archiwów państwowych i omawia ich stosunek do opracowania akt.

The eleventh part of the cycle of the Source extracts for the biography of the Polish bishops and abbots from the time of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Partitions of Poland was divided into two separate subject areas, the fi rst of which is the continuation of the material presented in the previous part and it contains the information about the ordination of bishops (date, place, main consecrator, co-consecrators). This subject area includes notes regarding anointment of a total of 100 hierarchs of the 16th-19th centuries, representing mainly the Latin rite (only four Eastern rites). The other subject area, with the heading monastica, presents the materials for the biographies of abbots (this number also includes commendatory abbots) and abbesses of the Polish-Lithuanian-Ruthenian lands, representing both Latin and Greek-Catholic rite (Basilian Archimandrites). The total number is 43 people from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The information presented in this and the previous ten parts of the Source extracts gives way to the study which could contribute significantly to the development in the area of biographical lexicons of Old Polish bishops and abbots. The issuing of such publication is something that is urgently demanded from the native church historiography as in this respect it remains far behind historiographies of other countries with Christian traditions.

In the State Archive of Zhytomyr Oblast there is one of the biggest collections of the visitations of the Greek Catholic parishes in Ukraine. Visitations from the years 1717-1814 territorially include 35 deaneries of eastern territories of the former Polish Republic (now Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus). Scattered in several fonds, the visitation protocols are a record of both canonical visitations and deanery ones. This source enables to characterize socio-religious life of more than 2000 parishes. Those who inspected the parishes noted down not only the name of the parish, to what saints it was dedicated and in which year it was founded, described its appearance and salary but also provided personal details of clergymen and their families. In addition, they presented, in details, the financial security of priests-the fund, mostly in the form of fi elds, meadows, orchards, fi sh ponds and various privileges. You can also find information on the density and structure of the population, customs of parishioners, their religious life, their activity, fraternities connected with Uniate churches, schools and hospitals (treated as points of social welfare for the poor and elderly). The visitation material is an interesting source for the research not only on the changes in the deanery structure and the increase in the number of parishes, but also on the relationships between different faiths and peoples inhabiting this land.

The article deals with the historical archival records for the city of Szczecin, which were lost in 1945. The author outlines the process of compiling the Szczecin municipal archive, transferring its contents to the State Archive and then forming an archival collection from it. This section of the narrative is conducted against the backdrop of the development of Prussian municipal and state archives, as well as discussions on the recognition of municipal records as a valuable historical source. Then the author discusses the internal structure of the collection and describes the contents of the consecutive subject groups in the historical archive of the Pomeranian capital.
Artykuł dotyczy zaginionych w 1945 roku historycznych archiwaliów miasta Szczecina. Autor przedstawia proces narastania archiwum miejskiego Szczecina, przekazania jego zasobu do depozytu archiwum państwowego, następnie uformowania z niego zespołu archiwalnego. Ta część narracji prowadzona jest na tle rozwoju pruskich archiwów miejskich i państwowych, a także dyskusji o uznaniu akt miejskich za wartościowe źródło historyczne. Następnie w autor omawia strukturę wewnętrzną zespołu oraz charaktery- zuje zawartość kolejnych grup rzeczowych historycznego archiwum stolicy Pomorza.

The 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) archive is a good moment to reflect on its operation. Its annual reports enable us to recognize the scale and quality of the archive’s operation. Reports prepared between 2003 and 2015 for various purposes and authorities show how the archive has fulfilled its basic duties. The quality of UKSW’s archive is monitored by the State Archive in Warsaw. As a interfaculty unit of UKSW, the archive also comes under the authority of one of the University’s deputy vice-chancellors. The archive mainly reports to these principal bodies on an annual basis. The archive holds the records of the Warsaw Theological Academy which was later transformed into UKSW.

No full monograph has yet been devoted to the history of the Jewish community in Dobrzyń nad Wisłą. This paper, whose subject is the almost completely unknown history of Jews from Dobrzyń in the years 1507-1939, stems not only from the author’s own interests, but also from the need to fill the above-mentioned gap. To study the topic, the author used mainly archival sources, which were the legacy of administrative and political authorities. Fragments of source materials are currently kept in the State Archive in Bydgoszcz and the State Archive in Toruń, and the branch in Włocławek. Especially noteworthy sources include: the vital records of Jewish people (1826-1936), the records of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Office in Toruń (1920-1939), the town records of Dobrzyń nad Wisłą (1917 -1937), and the records of the Board of the National Council (1950-1972). In these collections, the largest numbers of documents are extracts from birth records, official correspondence, minutes from the meetings of local authorities, and municipal inspections from the inter-war period. Apart from the above-mentioned archival collections, the author used a wide range of other source materials, for example, collections of maps kept in the Central Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw and in the District Office in Lipno, as well as very interesting items from private collections. Most of the above-mentioned sources have not yet been published.

Opis:
The decision of the Voivodeship Administrative Court in Białystok concerns the rules for handling the documentation of court cases, which, after a certain period of time, the court archive no longer has to be kept by the court. If such documentation does not have the status of archival material, it is allocated to waste paper (i.e. to be destroyed). The problem which the ruling concerns is the question of whether the files of court cases to be destroyed can be handled differently, in particular whether they can be sold to one of the parties to the court proceedings. The authors consider the above issue through the prism of binding regulations in the field of archival law.
Postanowienie dotyczy zasad postępowania z aktami spraw sądowych, których po upływie pewnego czasu archiwum sądu nie musi dłużej przechowywać. Jeśli dokumentacja tego typu nie ma statusu materiału archiwalnego, jest przeznaczana na makulaturę (tzn. do zniszczenia). Problem, którego dotyczy postanowienie, sprowadza się do pytania, czy z aktami przeznaczonymi do utylizacji można postąpić inaczej, w szczególności sprzedać je jednej ze stron postępowania. Autorzy glosy rozważają powyższe zagadnienie przez pryzmat obowiązujących przepisów z zakresu prawa archiwalnego.

W niniejszym tekście skoncentrowano się na wybranych recenzjach naukowych przewodników po zasobach archiwów państwowych w polskich czasopismach naukowych. Kwerendę przeprowadzono w czasopismach: „Archeion”, „Archiwa, Biblioteki i Muzea Kościelne”, „Archiwista Polski” i „Archiwa – Kancelarie – Zbiory”. Ponadto wykorzystano pojedyncze recenzje przewodników po zasobach archiwów znajdujące się w „Zapiskach Historycznych”, „Przeglądzie Zachodnio-Pomorskim”, „Rocznikach Dziejów Społecznych i Gospodarczych”, „Kwartalniku Historii Kultury Materialnej” oraz „Roczniku Biblioteki Narodowej”. Przeanalizowano łącznie 18 recenzji 11 przewodników po zasobie archiwum, które wydawano w latach 1958–2016. Same recenzje ukazywały się w latach 1959–2017.Analizując przewodniki po zasobie archiwum, mamy do czynienia z materią niezwykle delikatną i trudną do jednoznacznej oceny. Każdorazowo były to opracowania bardzo obszerne, będące często wynikiem paroletnich i czasochłonnych prac wieloosobowych zespołów. Pytanie o to, czy jest we współczesnym świecie jeszcze miejsce dla tradycyjnych książkowych przewodników po zasobie archiwum, będzie chyba długo pytaniem otwartym. Prace nad przewodnikami w formie tradycyjnej stanowią dla wszystkich archiwów zawsze niepowtarzalny moment i duże wyzwanie. Wiążą się one każdorazowo z intensyfikacją opracowywania, pozwalają na poprawienie i ujednolicenie ewidencji archiwalnej, a także dopracowanie dotychczasowej informacji na temat zasobu archiwum. Analizowane recenzje przewodników po zasobie archiwum pokazują, jak dużo jest możliwości potknięcia się w tych pracach.
This article focuses on selected reviews of state archive resource guides in Polish journals. The query was based on the following journals: „Archeion”, „Archiwa, Biblioteki i Muzea Kościelne”, „Archiwista Polski” i „Archiwa – Kancelarie – Zbiory”. In addition, the author uses singular reviews of archive resource guides found in „Zapiski Historyczne”, „Przegląd Zachodnio-Pomorski”, „Roczniki Dziejów Społecznych i Gospodarczych”, „Kwartalnik Historii Kultury Materialnej” and „Rocznik Biblioteki Narodowej”. A total number of 18 reviews of 11 archive resource guides, published in the years 1958–2016, were analyzed. The reviews themselves were published between 1959 and 2017.Analyzing archive resource guides, the author deals with very sensitive material which is very challenging to be assessed explicitly. Each time, the reviews resulted from extensive studies, which were often the result of time-consuming work performed by teams consisting of many experts. The question of whether there is still a place for traditional book guides to archive resources in the modern world will probably remain an open question for a long time. The analysis of guidebooks issued in the traditional form is always a unique moment and invariably constitutes a great challenge for all archives. Each time it is associated with the intensification of work; it allows for the improvement and unification of archival records. It also provides a greater precision of the existing information on the archive resources. The analyzed reviews of the state archive resource guides show how many possibilities there may occur to commit a mistake in the process of such an analysis.

Mimo całkowitego zniszczenia ksiąg grodzkich stężyckich, zachowały się źródła pośrednie, umożliwiające wgląd w ich historyczny zasób. Wielką wartość dla poznania ksiąg stężyckich ma ich spis z 1792 r. znajdujący się na końcu niniejszego artykułu.
The purpose of the article is to provide a detailed description of Stężyca court of justice for nobility registers from the years 1564-1792. In the 19th century they were moved to Warsaw, where in 1944 they burned down during the fire at the Central Archive of Historical Records (AGAD). In this aspect, the article is a contribution to expanding the knowledge of AGAD’s archival losses during the Second World War. Despite complete destruction of Stężyca court of justice for nobility registers, intermediate sources have survived, providing an insight into their historical stock. Their inventory, prepared in 1792 and published in an appendix to this article, is of great value for studying the Stężyca court of justice for nobility registers.

Opis:
The article considers the current state and development of the legislative base of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which regulates the creation, transfer, recording and preservation of electronic documents, determining the status of the certification center, the form of state control in the field of electronic documents and digital signatures, ensuring the safety of electronic documents, the functioning of electronic archives, etc. Based on the analysis of normative legal acts adopted in recent years, their main characteristics are determined, and existing both solved and unsolved legal problems in this industry are identified. The issues of state control and separation of powers between state bodies whose competence includes state regulation in the field of electronic document management and electronic archives are considered.
