    Wykonano badania archeologiczne w pobliżu budynku starostwa w miejscowości Lubietova koło Bańskiej Bystrzycy- Słowacja. Wśród wielu zabytków wydobyto także ceramikę. Dziesięć typowych naczyń wykonanych poddano badaniom mineralogicznym i technologicznym oznaczając skład mineralny i ziarnowych mas ceramicznych ora oznaczając orientacyjne temperatury wypału ceramiki. Wykonano analizy chemiczne wybranych szkliw pokrywających ceramikę. Otrzymane wyniki zestawiono w tabelkach komputerowego programu POTTERY, a następnie porównano ze sobą ustalając stopień podobieństwa ceramiki do siebie. Wyniki badań podsumowano i omówiono wnioski.
    Archeological research was conducted in the area of the governor’s building in the town of Lubietova, near Banska Bystrica in Slovakia. Among many excavated relics was also pottery. Ten typical vessels underwent mineralogical and technological testing to analyze their mineral composition and grainy ceramic masses of the ores, and to determine rough temperatures of pottery baking. Chemical analysis of chosen enamels covering the pottery was conducted. Test results were entered into tables in the POTTERY computer software and compared to determine degrees of similarities between the vessels. Conclusions were drawn and discussed.

    Opis:
    The paper is concerned with clustering with respect to the shape and size of 2D contours that are boundaries of cross-sections of 3D objects of revolution. We propose a number of similarity measures based on combined disparate Procrustes analysis (PA) and dynamic time warping (DTW) distances. A motivation and the main application for this study comes from archaeology. The computational experiments performed refer to the clustering of archaeological pottery.

    Archaeological and geophysical prospection of the site of Khirbat as-Sar (Sara) in Jordan, carried out by a team from the Polish Centre of the Mediterranean Archaeology (PCMA), University of Warsaw, has resulted in a comprehensive plan mapping all visible architectural remains. A Roman-period sacred compound appears to be a central feature of this site. Pottery collected from the surface has given a time range for the settlement from the late Iron Age through the Mamluk period. The electrical resistivity method using a probe array that allowed ground penetration to a maximum depth of approximately 1.50 m revealed meaningful information on the spatial organization of the site. Numerous high-resistance anomalies were interpreted as a reflection of building remains.

    Abstract: The article presents the history of archaeological research in the post-war Myślibórz. Until 1999, it was led by researchers from Gorzów Wielkopolski and Szczecin, and since 2000 employees of the Museum of Myślibórz Lake District. Mostly it concerns the Old Town area and is associated with the beginnings of urban settlements to Post-medieval period. In addition, the archaeological research was carried out on the early medieval stronghold.
