    Opis:
    The University of Warsaw started the Polish-French excavations in Edfu (Egypt) under the agreement concluded in 1936 with the French Institute for Oriental Archaeology in Cairo. The numerous artifacts found during the first archaeological season at the site in 1937 were split between Egypt, France and Poland, while the last received the highest proportion of the findings (c. 2000 objects). After being transported to the National Museum in Warsaw the most interesting artifacts from Edfu were presented on an exhibition opened the same year. The exhibition attracted c. 60 thousand visitors within two months. As a result, the Gallery of Ancient Art – the first permanent exhibition of the heritage of ancient civilizations in Poland – was created in 1938. The Gallery was housed in the newly opened building of the National Museum in Warsaw. Professor Kazimierz Michałowski, one of the members of the archaeological team working in Edfu and the creator of the ‘Polish school of the Mediterranean archaeology’, was appointed its first curator.

    The article initially and cross-sectionally discusses the phenomenon of non-formal exhibitions and visiting of tangible cultural heritage in forest areas in Poland. The publication also shows certain processes that authenticate cultural resources, which are outside the register of monuments, as well as processes that inscribe certain cultural assets in public space, especially tourist space. The text has an introductory character to the problematic and at the same time recognizes the phenomenon.

    Dziedzictwo kulturowe wymaga czytelnej projekcji w świadomości społeczeństwa i indywidualnego odbiorcy, czyli takiej ekspozycji, która pozwala na interpretację przeszłości w oparciu o czytelną granicę pomiędzy autentyzmem materii a naukowo budowanym „modelem historycznej rzeczywistości”. Sposoby eksponowania zabytków archeologii podlegają ciągłemu rozwojowi i ewolucji. Najbardziej zauważalny proces ewolucji w kształtowaniu owych ekspozycji można zaobserwować pośród najdłużej działających parków archeologicznych w Europie.
    Cultural heritage requires a legible projection in the conscious of both society and individuals, an exposition that makes it possible to interpret the past on the basis of a clear line drawn between the authenticity of matter and an academically built “model of historical reality”. Methods of exhibiting archaeological artefacts constantly develop and evolve. The most clearly observable process of evolution in the shaping of these exhibitions can be observed among European archaeological parks that have been active the longest.

    In 2012, a new department of the Archaeological Museum in Poznań – the Genius Loci Archaeological Reserve – was established on Ostrów Tumski (Cathedral Island) in Poznań. The island is a unique historical space, where archaeological excavations have been underway since 1938. It is thanks to them that the scope of knowledge about the beginnings of both the Polish state and the city of Poznań has improved significantly, and the results of these works have altered historians’ knowledge. The reserve has been designed so that visitors can learn about the earliest history from the point of view of science, and accompany archaeologists and representatives of other modern disciplines in discovering the secrets of long forgotten areas of history. The structures of the perfectly preserved rampart of the Poznań stronghold and the soil profiles have been made accessible to visitors in the form of an archaeological excavation site. ith the use of multimedia, discreetly placed throughout the exhibition, the entire spectrum of information about the Piast settlement from the 10th/11th century is presented, as is the rich collection of archaeological relics collected during many years of excavations. The article outlines the reserve’s activities to date and discusses the problem of reaching out to adults who seek a deeper and organised contact with culture.

    The article deals with issues related to the exhibition „Kayko and Kokosh - Comic Archeology”, which presents comic frames and archaeological artifacts. The organizational, substantive and visual character of the exhibition was different from the nature of the exhibitions previously presented at the Archaeological Museum in Gdańsk. The exhibition was very well received by visitors. Presented in eleven museums in Poland, it has been seen by over 200,000 people. Part of the museum environment took it negatively, and the main accusation was „frivolity”, i.e. the fact that the nature of the exhibition allegedly does not match the seriousness of the place, which is the museum. Two main arguments were formulated against the exhibition: that the subject of the presentation was a comic, and that the character was „childish” and therefore devoid of seriousness.

    Współczesna socjologia i filozofia podjęły badania fenomenu nazywanego muzealizacją przestrzeni publicznej, które to zjawisko charakteryzuje się nie tylko zwiększonym zapotrzebowaniem społecznym na instytucje muzealne, quasi-muzealne, hybrydy kulturowe czy szerokie archiwizowanie osobliwości i artefaktów z przeszłości, ale także na coraz szybszą absorbcję nowości, które ze względu na ich liczbę jeszcze szybciej tracą swój innowacyjny charakter i przynależność do współczesności. Ale muzealizacja stanowisk archeologicznych jest nie tylko rezultatem zmiany świadomości społecznej i jej postrzegania przeszłości, skłonnej w coraz szerszym zakresie także takie przestarzałe nowości kolekcjonować i chronić; istotnym źródłem muzealizacji jest także rozwój gospodarczy generujący nowe inwestycje, które „ubocznie” produkują nowe obszary badania przeszłości.
    Contemporary sociology and philosophy have engaged in the study of a phenomenon called the musealisation of the public space, a phenomenon which is characterised not only by an increased public need for museum or quasi-museum institutions, cultural hybrids, the broad archivisation of curiosities and artefacts of the past, but also by an increasingly rapid absorption of novelties, which, due to their number, lose their innovative character and place in contemporaneity ever quicker. However, the musealisation of the public space is not solely the result of changes in the public conscious and its perception of the past, which is inclined to collect and protect such expired novelties in a broader and broader scope; economic development that is also a signifi cant source of musealisation, generating new development projects, which, as a “side effect”, produce new sites for the studying of the past.

    This article deals with ancient amphorae in the exhibition of the Archaeological Museum of Murcia (Spain). So far, the amphorae have only had inventory cards and there has been no typological-chronological study of them. Each of the 8 amphorae is a different type and purpose. These are finds from various locations in the Region of Murcia. The aim of the study is to supplement museum data and to show the Polish reader amphorae of local production and those imported to this region of Spain in the ancient period.

    Podstawą artykułu jest wystąpienie Kamila Karskiego i Tomasza Owoca, które zaprezentowano podczas konferencji "Historyczne ruiny - ochrona, użytkowanie, zarządzanie", w dniach 16-17 kwietnia 2018 r. w Łazienkach Królewskich w Warszawie. Prezentowany artykuł koncentruje się na przedstawieniu założeń scenariusza planowanego upamiętnienia KL Płaszow w ramach Muzeum - Miejsca Pamięci. Tekst przedstawia proces kształtowania ruin, zapominania o nich, ale także odkrywania i sposób wykorzystania materialnych śladów przeszłości do edukacji i budowania świadomości historycznego znaczenia terenu po niemieckim obozie koncentracyjnym.
    The basis for the presented article is a speech by Kamil Karski and Tomasz Owoc, which was presented during the conference „Historical Ruins - Protection, Use, Management”, between April 16-17, 2018 in Łazienki Królewskie in Warsaw. The presented article focuses on presenting the assumptions of the scenario of the planned commemoration of KL Plaszow as part of the designed Museum - Memorial Site. Text presents, the process of shaping the ruin, forgetting it, but also exploring and how the material traces of the past will be used to educate and build awareness of the historical importance of the area after the German concentration camp is presented.
