Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono wyniki analizy porównawczej dwóch konkurencyjnych technologii tworzenia aplikacji internetowych: ASP.NET MVC firmy Microsoft oraz JavaServer Faces (JSF) wspieranej przez Oracle. Badania zostały zrealizowane poprzez implementację dwóch aplikacji o takiej samej funkcjonalności, korzystającej z tej samej bazy danych MySQL. Do pracy z danymi wykorzystano najczęściej stosowane narzędzia typu ORMŚ Hibernate dla JSF i Entity Framework dla ASP.NET MVC. Przy porównaniu brano pod uwagę strukturę aplikacji, łatwość implementacji, wsparcie środowiska programistycznego, wsparcie społecznościowe, komponenty interfejsu graficznego oraz efektywność pracy z bazą danych.
The paper presents the results of comparative analysis of two competing web application technologies: ASP.NET MVC from Microsoft and JavaServer Faces (JSF) supported by Oracle. The research was done by implementing two applications with the same functionality using the same MySQL database. The most commonly used ORM tools are Hibernate for JSF and Entity Framework for ASP.NET MVC. The research was done by comparison the application structure, ease of implementation, support of the development environment, community support, graphical interface components, and database performance.

Opis:: The name of Autodesk sounds familiar for everyone. The AutoCAD is said to be the bestknown software of their products. Autodesk Map is a GIS and mapping software that combines the power and precision of AutoCAD with the specialised tools for creating, maintaining and producing maps and geographic data. It is optimised for precision mapping and GIS analysis in the AutoCAD environment and used to solve both traditional and unique mapping challenges across many areas and industries. Customised applications can be developed using the AutoLISP API for Autodesk Map that is included with the software itself. My paper is about such an application, which provides examples of using Custom Menus, Programmable Dialogue Boxes and AutoLISP routines. A diverse set of realworld challenges can be solved applying these features and the power of topology, topology functions, overlay operations and external databases. Maps are not dead papers any more, they are turned into powerful tools for analysis and decision support.

Opis:: This article presents the performance analysis of a cross-platform mobile application implemented with Xamarin and two native applications for Android and iOS platforms. The results concerning the time analysis for selected activities were compared in order to determine whether cross-platform tools are worth using in mobile application development. Native applications achieved better performance, however in some cases the cross-platform approach allows for significant development time reduction without deterioration in user experience.
Artykuł przedstawia analizę wydajności mobilnej aplikacji wieloplatformowej utworzonej za pomocą technologii Xamarin oraz dwóch natywnych dla platformy Android i iOS. Wyniki dotyczące analizy czasów wykonywania wybranych czynności zostały porównane, aby odpowiedzieć na pytanie, czy warto używać rozwiązań wieloplatformowych w wytwarzaniu aplikacji mobilnych. Aplikacje natywne osiągnęły lepsze wyniki, jednakże w pewnych scenariuszach wykorzystanie technik wieloplatformowych pozwoli na znaczne oszczędności czasu, bez spadku poziomu wrażeń odbieranych przez użytkownika.

Opis:: Tematyką badaną w artykule jest sprawdzenie możliwości narzędzia do tworzenia aplikacji webowych Laravel. Przedstawiono przegląd literatury traktującej o Laravel, jego najpopularniejsze moduły oraz dodatkowe możliwości. Na podstawie stworzonej aplikacji testowej napisanej przy pomocy trzech narzędzi – Laravel, Symfony oraz Zend porównano je ze sobą pod względem wydajności oraz możliwości. Aplikacją testową była baza albumów muzycznych o trzech zestawach danych – z jednym, dwoma oraz pięcioma tysiącami albumów. Badanie wydajności narzędzia Laravel na tle Zend Framework i Symfony sporządzono na podstawie między innymi czasu ładowania danych z bazy oraz ich wyszukiwania w kolekcji danych. Podsumowanie informacji zawartych w artykule stwierdza, że Laravel do narzędzie nastawione na komfort pisania aplikacji, odstające jednak na tle innych narzędzi wydajnością.
The aim of this paper is verification of possibilities of Laravel PHP framework. An overview of literature is presented, which shows Laravel as a research tool in various scientific fields and compares it with other PHP language tools. The project of a test application was presented, which is a database of music albums with three datasets - one, two and five thousand albums. Laravel's Zend Framework and Symfony performance survey was based on, among other things, database loading time, database searches, and the time to generate a single album view with relationships. Summary of the information contained in the paper states that Laravel is an easy-to-use tool, with a number of app creation aids, but with performance outweighed by the frameworks compared to it, the most efficient of which is Zend Framework.

Opis:: Introduction and aim. Computer techniques are increasingly used in speech therapy. The aim of the work is to present the results of the preliminary evaluation of the new “Talk To Me” application and its functionality in the treatment of speech development delays. Material and methods. The study was conducted in 3 groups of children: the study group with the use of the “Talk To Me” application, the conventional therapy group and the control group - in the case of both groups with the intervention, additional reinforcements were used. All children included in the project showed delays in speech development. The recorded age of children in all analyzed groups ranged from 2 to 6 years. In order to verify language progress, the Scale of Language Skills Acquisition in the Field of Communication Competence was used. Results. Acquisition of language skills varies depending on the group affiliation. The analysis of simple main effects for the time of measurement showed that in each group the differences between successive measurements turned out to be significant. In the study group, the increase in language skills differs from the other two groups (p< 0.001). However, there is no difference between the groups with conventional and control therapy (p=1.00). Conclusion. Analysis of the research results allows us to conclude that the “Talk To Me” application is a tool that significantly affects the speed of therapy progress in the case of speech development delays concerning communicative competence.

Opis:: Biotechnology has potential to enhance the production of agricultural and industrial products for achieving food security and economic development. In agriculture, biotechnology enhances the production of high yielding and disease resistance crops necessary for achieving food security and industrial development. This paper examines the constraints in the application of biotechnology research to the production of cassava in Nigeria. The study utilized primary data collected through questionnaire administration and interview from three research institutions working on cassava biotechnology in Nigeria. Findings showed that weak infrastructural facilities, poor funding, inadequate competent personnel and absence of appropriate legislation are the constraints in the application of biotechnology to cassava production in Nigeria. In addition, one out of the three research institutions has adequate and regular electricity supply through its own captive power plant while the remaining two research institutions relied more on electricity from the national grid. Inadequate funding and shortage of competent personnel were peculiar challenge confronting all the research institutions covered by the study. The study recommends improvement in electricity supply, production of more biotechnology scientists and adequate funding to enhance biotechnology research in Nigeria.

Opis:: Future Internet technologies necessitate dramatic changes in system design, delivery and usage patterns. For many legacy applications it means that their further development and transition to the Internet becomes problematic or even impossible due to the obsolescence of technologies they use. Replacement of the old system with the new one, built from scratch, is usually economically unacceptable. Therefore, there is a call for methods and tools supporting the automated migration of legacy systems into a new paradigm. This paper proposes a tool supported method for recovery and migration of application logic information from legacy systems. The information extracted from a legacy application is stored in the form of precise requirement-level models enabling automated transformation into a new system structure in a model-driven way. Evaluation of the approach is based on a case study legacy system.

Opis:: Współczesny intensywny rozwój oraz wykorzystanie technik satelitarnych stawiają przed napedem rakietowym coraz większe wymagania. Jednym z najważniejszych jest dążenie do ograniczenia kosztów transportu kosmicznego, w przeliczeniu na 1 kilogram ładunku. Nie tylko rakiety kosmiczne wykorzystują silniki rakietowe. Ich zastosowanie obejmuje równiez korektę i transfer orbity sztucznych satelitów, napęd sond kosmicznych, pojazdów księżycowych i międzyplanetarnych, a także lądowników. Uwagę zwraca nowa dziedzina transportu, zwana turystyką kosmiczną. Wszystkie wymienione obszary wymagają zastosowania różych rodzajów i wielkości (impulsów całkowitych) napędów rakietowych. Upowszechnienie dostępu do rpzestrzeni kosmicznej wymaga redukcji kosztów rozwoju, produkcji i eksploatacji systemów transportu, przy zachowaniu wysokiego poziomu bezpieczeństwa. Od stosowanych materiałów pędnych wymaga się wysokich osiagów, bezpiecznego i długotrwałego przechowywania, a takż minimalnego wpływu produktów spalania na środowisko naturalne. Wymagania odnosnie silników rakietowych coraz częściej obejmują możliwość sterowania wartością ciągu oraz zdolność do wielokrotnego uruchomienia. Atrybuty te generalnie nie mają zastosowania w odniesieniu do tanich i prostych w budowie napędów rakietowych na stały materiał pędny. Natomiast silniki na materiał ciekły, pomimo znacznie szerszych możliwości zastosowania, charakteryzuje złożona budowa i związany z tym wysoki koszt rozwoju, produkcji i eksploatacji. W okreśIonych segmentach transportu kosmicznego rozważa się wykorzystanie napędu hybrydowego. Do zastosowań tych należą małe i średnie satelity (transfer i korekta orbit), lądowniki księżycowe i planetarne oraz samoloty do turystyki kosmicznej. Część z wymienionych potencjalnych zastosowań silników hybrydowych została sprawdzona i zyskała aprobatg do dalszych działań rozwojowych. Podstawowym kryterium stosowania tego typu napędu rakietowego są: prostota, bezpieczeństwo pracy, możliwość restartowania i sterowania siłą ciągu. Materiały pędne dla silników hybrydowych sa najcześciej łatwo przechowywalne i nietoksyczne. Co więcej, wstępne odseparowanie paliwa i utleniacza, znajdujących się podczas składowania w różnych fazach, istotnie wpływa na bezpieczeństwo przechowywania i transportu. Wszystkie te aspekty kwalifikują napęd hybrydowy do wykorzystania w określonej grupie zastosowań.
Nowadays, the satellite technology development becomes very intensive. Progress in the satellite technology requires many desirable features from the rocket propulsion. One of the most important is reduction of the overall transport cost, with reference to one kilogram of payload. Rocket engines are being used not only for launch vehicles. The application includes also satellite manoeuvring and orbit transfer, space probe and lander propulsion. There is a very interesting new transport area called space tourism. In order to make the Space widely accessible, it is necessary to reduce the development, production and utilization cost of space transportation systems. It must also not influence the safety level. Features including high performance, storability, non-toxicity and safety of rocket propellants are required. There are also many other features essential for a rocket engine. Among them the most important are restart ability and throttling ability. These features cannot be reached by a solid rocket motor. Although a liquid rocket engine might be both restartable and throttlable, it is complicated and very expensive to develop. Hybrid rocket propulsion is being considered in several specific areas of space transportation. Those applications are: microsatelites (manoeuvring and orbit transfer), lunar and planetary landers, suborbital and orbital tourism vehicles. Some of these applications have been already approved and are still being developed. The most positive qualities of a hybrid propulsion are: simplicity, safety, stop and restart ability, throttling ability. Hybrid propellants are mostly storable and non-toxic. What is more, fuel and oxidiser are separated and stored in different phases, which positively affects on the safety level.

Opis:: The article deals with the survey of hyperspectral imaging and its applications. The article is devoted to a survey of the key areas in which hyperspatial imaging finds application. These areas include geological survey and mineralogy, plastic separation, food quality inspection, precision agriculture, landmine detection, medical imaging, and manufacturing processes. It can be stated that the possibilities where hyperspectral imaging can be used are numerous. Also, the application of such technology and its deployment needs a deep understanding of the problem to which we want to apply hyperspectral imaging. In general, it can be used where it is possible to compare images of the normal state against the current state with a comparison sample.

Opis:: The effect of process conditions on the co-processing technology of crude oil and coal was investigated. Crude oil/coal matching performance, swelling degree, crude oil/coal slurry viscosity-temperature characteristics and process parameters were obtained via the laboratory scale and pilot scale studies. The optimum reaction temperature of the co-processing was 445~450 °C, the pressure was 19 MPa, the catalyst addition was 3 wt.%, the reaction time was 2 h, and the ratio of hydrogen to crude oil was 1500 (V/V). Furthermore, the co-processing technology including catalyst and corresponding equipment based on the slurry bed hydrogenation were developed. By using this co-processing technology, the feed ratio of crude oil and coal can be 1:1, the coal conversion rate can be over 99%, the light oil (oil and aromatics) yield was over 70%, and the end products were gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, aromatics and LPG. The product quality meets the Euro V standard, whilst aromatics accounted for 48% of the light oil. So it was proved to be feasible to co-refine crude oil and coal at a ratio of 1:1. What’s more, the slurry bed hydrogenation plant and its equipment were tested for long-term operation, and it has been proved that this co-processing technology could be deployed as large-scale industrial application.
