Opis:
There are two main aspects in Chekhov’s stories about children: perception of the world by a child and perception of children’s world by adults. Chekhov shows the moments in the life of children which let to reveal problems that arise because the grown-ups don’t understand the world of child, so children collide with the world of adults, not seldom alien and incomprehensible for them. Children don’t accept insincerity, cruelty, indifference, therefore they are often lonely and defenseless. Thinking about children, Chekhov thought about grown-up problems which became painful for him: about awkward, abnormal life, about mercenary spirit and love of gain that are the bane of people’s life. And at the same time - this is the circle of his thoughts about beauty, created by human and nature, about free and happy people, about possibility of happiness in itself.

The issue of the logic of theology so far have not been given so much attention neither from logicians nor from theologians. The first group seem not to consider the language of theology as a “place” to apply the results of their work. Also theologians are not particularly interested in that issue. The aim of this paper is to highlight one aspect of the issue of logic of theology, namely – the problem of the contradiction in the (language of) contemporary theology. In the first section, we show some of many examples of contradictions in contemporary theology. Next, the question regarding the reason of the existence so many examples of contradiction in theology is addressed. In the subsequent section, some problems generated by those contradictions are considered and a question if certain kind of logic would be able to deal with those problems is raised. Finally, some remarks regarding the need to take systematic research on logic (language) theology and the need to build analytic theology are postulated.

The article explores life and death antinomy in the Inna Lisnyanskaya’s poetry. The subject of this analysis is the series of poems Archivy published in 2006 in the magazine “Druzhba Narodov”. Characteristic element of the Lisnyanskaya’s poems is an archive which can be regarded as a main leitmotif. In the article particular attention has been paid to conceptual metaphors: DEATH IS AN ARCHIVIST, ARCHIVE IS HELL, LIFE IS AN ARCHIVE. The study is an attempt at cognitive analysis of the life and death antinomy.

In the presented paper we would like to focus on the scientific activity of the one of the members of the Warsaw School of Logic. It is supposed that the world famous formalisms of Polish logicians were mainly stimulated by Stanisław Leśniewski. If this is true, Leśniewski can be considered as the main ideologist of Warsaw School. The first part of this paper is dedicated to a very brief presentation of the history of Polish logic in the period 1910-1939. Next, we present the main ideas of the Warsaw School of Logic and in particular the contribution of Stanisław Leśniewski: his original system of three theories: protothetics, ontology and mereology and their novelty in comparison with classical thought. Finally, we try to show the influence of Leśniewski’s innovative ideas on other members of the school.

Opis:
The article examines the theological method of antinomy and the conceptual solution to the problem of the ontological “gap” between transcendence and immanence of the Holy Trinity in the theological thought of the outstanding Byzantine theologian of the 14th century Gregory Palamas. The article analyzes how Palamas, in his patristic teaching on the distinction between the essence and energy of the Holy Trinity, substantiates the unity, trinity, and multiplicity of divine action in the world, and how he interprets this distinction in God’s nature. Particular attention is paid to biblical and patristic analysis and the significance of Palama’s methodological “triangle”: apophatic, cataphatic, antinomy; his understanding of the personal dimension of the energies of the hypostases of the Trinity, and the problem of the “simplicity” of the Triune God.

Opis:
For some time now, there has been a definite revival of interest in apophatic theology within religious thinking as well as at its antipodes. It often takes the form of criticism of religion, including Christian Revelation, and thus the theology based on it. From a Christian perspective, this provides an invitation to reflect on the rich heritage of apophaticism and to show its specificity as a consequence of what constitutes the specificum christianorum, i.e. the Trinitatis mystery. Important clues in this regard can be found in the thought of Vladimir N. Lossky, a prominent 20th century Orthodox theologian, a radical defender of the specific apophatic nature of Christianity and a theologian faithful to Trinitarian orthodoxy. Looking at the most important issues related to the Trinitarian dogma, we will point out that in the Russian’s view, the Trinitarian antinomy is the source and foundation of Christian apophaticism and its hermeneutics. This conclusion will be based on revealing the Trinitarian antinomy as what is primordial, unconditioned by nothing, non-derivable from anything and therefore as a purely religious given and truth par excellence, accessible to man through Its free Revelation, which It also infinitely transcends.

Opis:
Anselm of Canterbury’s method to avoid antinomies in theology is presented and analyzed. In Monologion Anselm argues in favour of God’s existing at every time and every place on one side, and in favour of God’s existing at no time and no place on the other side. But this constitutes an antinomy, because e.g. for any time  God’s existing at the time  and God’s not existing at the time  are equally provable. Anselm claims ambivalence of terms of natural languages to be responsible for the antinomy. Anselm’s solution is to introduce to theological discourse two artifical terms: „existing at a time” and „coexisting with a time”. Those terms are provided with precise meaning, which constitutes deductional relationship between them. For any  and  if  is existing at a time then  is coexisting with the time  The converse is, however, not valid. This Allows Anselm to avoid the antinomy. The anticipation of Duns Scotus’ theory of univocity and some contemporary ideas of non-classical logics is also discussed.

The paper tries to carry on a philosophical analysis of some antinomies of the process we describe as globalization. We point out the disagreement between the expert and post-modern definition of globalization, the trend to drive out the post-modern conception of globalization from the public area. The globalization process is set in a broader context of social and political changes the liberal democracies went through in the second half of the 20th century. The examples presented by the author put emphasis on some negative externalities.

Opis:
The article discusses the problem of the ontological distinction between God’s transcendence and immanence in the theological thought of Gregory of Nyssa, a Church Father of the 4th century. The author presents the main conceptual and terminological apparatuses that Gregory used in his antinomic approach to the complex interpretation of apophatic and kataphatic images of God. He analyzes the main characteristics of these two dimensions of the nature of God. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the Trinitarian approach in answering the question: how can God, who is completely ontologicaly removed from creation, be at the same time actively present in the world and filling it. In this context the author analyzes the key notions, which express the ontological remoteness of the divine essence of the Holy Trinity and God’s active nearness in relation to created being.
