Almanac “Women and Russia,” feminist movement in Soviet Russia
Opis:
This article presents a short history of the origin and creation of the Almanac “Women and Russia,” which began as a samizdat underground publication devoted to the problem of women and childrearing in the USSR. The idea for creating such an Almanac originated in the mid 1970s in the Leningrad circle of ‘unofficial culture’, at the initiative of the artist Tatyana Mamonova, religious philosopher Tatyana Goricheva, and the women author Natasha Malachovska. The women writers featured in the first edition of the Almanac addressed not only questions about the social conditions prevailing in the USSR, but above all exposed the consequences for women living and functioning in a patriarchal social order, and ironically one where all the questions concerning ‘women’s rights’ were deemed to have been resolved in a progressive fashion much earlier. Not only is the substance of the Almanac important, but the circumstances surrounding its publication and the subsequent consequences related to its publishing also reveal the state of the ‘women’s movement’ in the USSR of that time. These include the reactions of the representatives of the dissident culture, the interventions of the security apparatus and the attendant repression of the women activists and its effect on their lives, and the support of feminist organizations from abroad. Each of the afore-mentioned reactions and consequences became an element of and shaped the everyday lives of the activists involved in the creation of the Almanac. The events related in this work confirm the opinion of those researchers who consider that the publication of the Almanac marked the beginning of the resurrection of the feminist movement in Russia.

In the context of globalization and regionalization, central banks pursuing monetary policy in the country at the same time become subjects of monetary regulation within the framework of the integrational associations of which they are members. The purpose of the article is to assess the impact of monetary policy on investment and economic growth in integration unions and determine the appropriateness of their coordination. To achieve the goal, a method of correlation-regression analysis is proposed, one which allows for the identifying and assessing of the degree of influence of certain directions of monetary policy of the countries of the integration association on the indicators of investment and economic growth. As a result of the analysis, the expediency of coordination and implementation of a coordinated policy of central banks to stimulate the deposit and credit policy of commercial banks was proved, which positively affects the characteristics of supply and demand in the integrated investment market. The assessment of the directions of the coordination of monetary investments regulation was carried out on the example of an integration association - the Union of Belarus and Russia and can be extended to other integration associations with the participation of Belarus, in particular, to the monetary interaction of countries within the Eurasian Economic Union. The analysis is based on the statistical data of the National Statistical Committee and the National Bank of the Republic Belarus, the EAEU Department of Statistics, as well as statistical information from the Central Bank of Russia and the Union of Russia and Belarus.

During the meeting, the Russian authorities convinced the Armenian President to join the Customs Union and do not proceed further cooperation with the European Union. In the article, the author tries to analyze why Armenia cardinally changed its policy on the eve of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius on November 28–29th, 2013. There are also analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of eventual Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union with Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, and to the European Union.

Lately the opinion has prevailed that in their international enterprising, companies should be concentrating more on the markets of Eastern Europe and Russia, which seem to present a significant opportunity for them. One of the major barriers to this activity is mainly the lack of technical expertise of companies. The article presents the latest version of circumstances and cause of death of Sergey Yesenin. It should be seen as an edition as well as addition to the recently published monograph Murder of Sergey Yesenin. Criminalistic, Historical and Literary Study (Szczytno 2009), where the primary version of the poet’s murder was depicted. The following revised version reveals some new figures which were directly involved in the tragic death of Yesenin, i.e. Iosif Stalin as the initiator or Georgy Ustinov and Vasily Nazarov as the executors of that perfidious deed. The author projects a plan of the plot, a calendar of the last days and hours of Yesenin’s life, brings out unknown facts and hypotheses which prove a planned homicide committed by members of Soviet secret police (Joint State Political Directorate) and, therefore, disqualify the official version of suicide.

Opis:
The article presents a comparative analysis of selected linguistic material in Polish and Russian associative dictionaries. A detailed description is offered of the core of Polish and Russian linguistic awareness, i.e. with respect to those units that enter into the greatest numbers of connections with other units of a given associative network, presented in the form of a reversed associative dictionary (from reaction to stimulus). The analysis leads to the conclusion that concepts seemingly identified as very close to each other on the semantic plane, functioning in Polish and Russian, are often characterised by significant semantic differences. The differences are especially clear in associative networks of names for emotions, values, and human actions. The young people from Poland and Russia taking part in the study differ significantly in their judgements of what and to what extent they consider good or bad, great or inconspicuous, active or passive. Young Poles have a stronger tendency to view and evaluate the world through the prism of hedonistic values. Their accounts more rarely contain characteristics related to lives of communities (in this context an important position is occupied only by the close ones). The linguistically shaped world of young Russians is different: the central position there is taken by associative networks where the dominant characteristics relate to communities, collective work, and the need for material and financial security.
Artykuł zawiera analizę porównawczą wybranego materiału językowego, zamieszczonego w polsko- i rosyjskojęzycznym słowniku asocjacyjnym. Szczegółowemu opisowi poddano jądro polsko- i rosyjskojęzycznej świadomości, czyli te jednostki sieci semantycznej (asocjacyjnowerbalnej), które posiadają największą liczbę związków z innymi jednostkami danej sieci asocjacyjnej, zaprezentowanej w formie odwróconego słownika asocjacyjnego (od reakcji do bodźca).Przeprowadzona analiza pozwala stwierdzić, iż pozornie tożsame, ewentualnie bliskie w planie semantycznym pojęcia, funkcjonujące w języku polskim i rosyjskim, często wykazują istotne różnice znaczeniowe. Centralną pozycję zajmują w nim sieci asocjacyjne z dominacją charakterystyk odnoszących się do życia w zbiorowości, kolektywnego wykonywania zadań, potrzeby bezpieczeństwa materialnego i socjalnobytowego.

Opis:
The article supports the thesis that despite Cold War style oratory and criticism of the NATO's intervention against Yugoslavia, Russian policy on Kosovo armed conflict represented a realistic and pragmatic approach. It points that Russian leadership was conscious of the domestic political and economic problems as well as the unfavourable post Cold War shift of power and changes of the international system and knew that Russia could not reply to the unilateral NATO's air campaign against Yugoslavia. It argues that Moscow admittedly wanted to avoid NATO intervention at the Balkans which inevitably undermined the international position of Russia, but despite some political gestures and claims about the traditional Russo-Serbian friendship had no direct geopolitical interests at the Kosovo conflict, did not believe the Milosevic's 'truths' and actively participated at the high-level international peacemaking initiatives together with the West. It claims that Russia actually supported Western efforts aimed to stop the violence at the province and start political dialogue between Belgrade and Kosovo Albanians about the autonomy of the province. It finally argues that Russian constructive approach 'helped' the Alliance to end its war over Kosovo and stresses that peace proposals offered to Belgrade were collectively worked out and endorsed by the West and Russia.

After many internal discussions NATO authorities decided to create a new strategic concept during the anniversary summit in 2009. A group of 12 experts from Member States prepared the ground for NATO strategic changes in a document called „Albright Report”. Based on the document the Lisbon Summit (2010) adopted a new strategic concept adapting NATO to the new challenges and threats to Euro-Atlantic security. The concept adopted three main tasks for NATO: collective defense, crisis management and development of the cooperative security with other international actors. New security threats to allied countries were more widely recognized. The implementation of the new strategic concept was hindered by the aggressive tendencies in international activities of Russia, the crisis phenomena in the economy of the Member States and the complex problem of Afghanistan. The new Lisbon concept of NATO facilitated Poland the development of security within the Euro-Atlantic Partnership.

The most famous priest-exiles, whose literary legacy has survived to this day, are: Mikołaj Kulaszyński, Stanisław Matraś, Edward Nowakowski and Zygmunt Szczęsny Feliński. A present article was devoted to it is for these writers, and is concentrating on the stereotype of the Russians and Russia. Naddniestrzańska Republika Mołdawska to nieuznawane przez społeczność międzynarodową quasi-państwo, stanowiące de jure część Republiki Mołdawii. W 1992 roku, w wyniku pięciomiesięcznej, wygranej wojny z Mołdawią, separatystyczne Naddniestrze obroniło, a w kolejnych latach utrwaliło swoją niezależność.
The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is a quasi-country not recognized by the international community. It constitutes de-jure a part of the Moldavian Republic. In 1992, as a result of a five month, victorious war with Moldavia, separatist Transnistria defended itself and in the following years strengthened its independence. After the end of the military part of the conflict, both countries maintained unfriendly relationships, and any political attempts to settle that conflict have so far been ineffective. It is mainly due to the Russian Federation supporting the separatist republic (the evidence of which is the presence of Russian military forces in Transnistria), the weakness of the Moldavian country and the interest of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic to maintain the status quo.
