Opis:: Using the method of integrated literary analysis, the article examines comparatively the narratives of Genesis and Exodus, which in different ways explicitly or implicitly express the emotions of the female characters in a situation of trial. It emphasises the relationship between their fear and their courage, which leads them to experience the freedom to choose the ethical values of compassion, mercy and love. From these perspectives, the following texts are highlighted: the narrative of the conflict between Sarah and Hagar (Gen 16 and 21); the narrative of Isaac's marriage to Rebekah (Gen 24) and of Jacob's marriage to Leah and Rachel (Gen 29-30); and the narrative of Pharaoh's daughter's compassion for the Hebrew child Moses (Exod 1:8-2:10). The article emphasises the motif of motherhood and shows that the sense of motherhood brings wives and mothers from different cultural and religious backgrounds closer together in caring for their children and thus for the future of the family and the tribal community. In identifying the motives that influence female characters' decisions in trial, the article highlights the role of their religious sense as well as other personal and family circumstances and the expectations of the wider community.

Opis:: The opinion deals with the proposed amendments to the Act on Land and Mortgage Registers and Mortgage in the context of their compatibility with the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. The purpose of the proposed amendments is to provide access to land and mortgage registers in an electronic format, and the possibility to issue a copy of particular sections of the land and mortgage register online. In the author’s view, the proposed bill is consistent with Polish Constitution and, especially the right to privacy enshrined therein. Moreover, it ensures the public nature of the land and mortgage registers and the force of a legal document obtained in an electronic format.

Opis:: Based on about 250 narrative interviews, the article describes the language biographies and cultural identities of Jewish emigrants from German speaking countries in Israel, 60 years after the cultural break of Nazi persecution. It focuses on the influence of external factors (like family-background in Europe, forms of settlement, partnerships, friends, jobs etc. in the new surroundings) on the acquisition of Hebrew and the maintenance of a mostly very educated and correct German in the 1st generation. Additional analyses illustrate the interdependence of language attitudes and abilities in the 2nd generation, who often acquired German as children in the family, but were ashamed of it during their adolescence.

Opis:: The phenomenon of migration has become a subject of numerous sociological, economic and political analyses. It has also become an issue of interest for Catholic Social Teaching. The complexity of this subject, its topicality and a need for a diagnosis in the light of ethical and social rules are contained within the consecutive messages for the World Migrant Day by the Holy Father John Paul II. A particularly interesting dimension of the discussion of the phenomenon of migration is the analysis of this problem in terms of its influence on the modern family. John Paul II notices that owing to the dignity of the family and its significant role in the process of upbringing of the young generation, the decision to migrate by members of a family or entire families must be well thought‑out and carefully considered in the context of a necessity to undertake such steps. The necessity condition is related to a wide array of threats, which a family would have to face if they chose to take the migration path. The Pope also points out that migration is, at the same time, a justifiable opportunity for the development of a family, which should be provided ample assistance by the Church and state in a new environment.

Opis:: The current article contains two basic themes. The first one constitutes a review of psychological and economic definitions and concepts of determinants of enterprise. The second theme is an analysis of the essence of an entrepreneur’s success. The author points at the possibility of negative relationships between economic success and life-satisfaction, and the necessity of studying work hygiene and the quality of life of entrepreneurs.
