    The present paper examines the topic of aliases of criminals, which seems to be understudied in linguistic research. Therefore, this article’s primary goal is to describe how criminals’ aliases are created and what are the differences and similarities in that process in English, French, and Polish. Firstly, the theoretical background concerning the topic of pseudonyms is presented. Then, the corpus gathered for this paper (available online: https://cutt. ly/1TRefrK), consisting of 206 pseudonyms (123 units in English, 42 in French, and 41 in Polish), is analyzed. In the analysis, four schemes are noted to be the most commonly used in creating pseudonyms of criminals. What is more, the inspirations behind the creation of criminals’ pseudonyms are scrutinized, and nine typical inspirations are distinguished. The article constitutes not only a detailed linguistic analysis of a significant number of criminals’ aliases but can also serve as an inspiration for other research on the topic.

    The increasing consumer requirements for the way what everyday use products look like, forces manufacturers to put more emphasis on product design. Constructors, apart from the functional aspects of the parts created, are forced to pay attention to the aesthetic aspects. Software for designing A-class surfaces is very helpful in this case. Extensive quality analysis modules facilitate the work and allow getting models with specific visual features. The authors present a design process of the product using stylistic surfaces based on the front panel of the moped casing. In addition, methods of analysis of the design surface and product technology are presented.
    Stale rosnące wymagania konsumentów co do designu kupowanych wyrobów zmuszają producentów do położenia większego nacisku na stylistykę produktów. Konstruktorzy oprócz aspektów funkcjonalnych tworzonych części zmuszeni są do zwracania uwagi na aspekty estetyczne. Pomocne staje się oprogramowania do projektowania powierzchni A – klasy. Rozbudowane moduły do analizy jakości znacznie ułatwiają pracę i pozwalają uzyskać modele o określonych cechach wizualnych. Autorzy przedstawiają sposób projektowania wyrobu z wykorzystaniem powierzchni stylistycznej na podstawie przedniego panelu obudowy motoroweru. Ponadto zaprezentowano metody analizy powierzchni designerskiej oraz technologiczności wyrobu.

    In August 309 the Jews of Oxyrhynchos addressed the strategos of the Oxyrhynchite nome. If the interpretation is correct, the people who filed the document on behalf of the Jews appear to represent a koinon, which is a term also used for professional associations but here seemingly applied to the town’s Jewish community as a whole. A scholarly consensus has yet to be reached on whether the Jewish communities could be classified as collegia according to Roman law but various pieces of evidence adduced here indicate that this was possible. Another issue that is addressed here is the nature of the document and why it was addressed particularly to the strategos of the nome, who is known to have changed duties after Diocletian’s administrative reforms. Finally, this papyrus furnishes another important piece of information, as it records a further year-in-office of Dioskourides alias Ioulianos, a member of a prominent family of councillors and officials, whose origins can be traced back to Alexandria and who are known to us through (at least) three successive well-documented generations. The history of the family’s career (as evidenced by the hitherto published material) is offered in a nutshell in the form of an appendix.

    Artykuł przedstawia istotną kwestię możliwości rejestracji pseudonimu jako znaku towarowego. Analiza orzecznictwa i poglądów doktryny pozwala na sformułowanie następujących wniosków. Po pierwsze, brak jest specyficznych regulacji dotyczących rejestracji pseudonimu jako znaku towarowego. W konsekwencji powoduje to, że judykatura tworzy reguły pozwalające na taką rejestrację. Po drugie, wskazać można wzajemne przenikanie się regulacji dotyczących ochrony dóbr osobistych i znaku towarowego. Powoduje to niejednolitość w kontekście materialnego i niematerialnego charakteru tego dobra. Po trzecie, pseudonim, podobnie jak inne dobra, podlega komercjalizacji. Powoduje to nadanie mu mieszanego charakteru, podobnie jak prawu do firmy, i przyznanie mu ekonomicznej wartości.  
    An article presents an studies of possibilities to register an alias as a trademark. The analyses of the doctrine and cases of Polish and European jurisprudence rise the following conclusions. Firstly, there is no special regulations which allows registrations alias as a trademark. As the consequence that’s the jurisprudencia who creates their own regulations. Secondly, we can observe insinuation of two legal systems – protecting the personal rights in civil law and trademarks. This can be problematic cos the jurisdiction of the court. Thirdly, the alias can also become distinctive per se which in consequence allowed to protect them as the surname as a trademarks in some circumstances. As far, we need to take in consideration the process of commercialization of this kind of personal rights which gives them the economic value.

    In this paper we analyse a class of DASP (Digital Alias-free Signal Processing) methods for spectrum estimation of sampled signals. These methods consist in sampling the processed signals at randomly selected time instants. We construct estimators of Fourier transforms of the analysed signals. The estimators are unbiased inside arbitrarily wide frequency ranges, regardless of how sparsely the signal samples are collected. In order to facilitate quality assessment of the estimators, we calculate their standard deviations. The optimal sampling scheme that minimises the variance of the resulting estimator is derived. The further analysis presented in this paper shows how sampling instant jitter deteriorates the quality of spectrum estimation. A couple of numerical examples illustrate the main thesis of the paper
