Language of aggression, which is the subject of this article, is closely linked with the concept of aggression. Aggression is understood as any form of behaviour directed at causing damage or causing injury to another living creature. The article presents a pilot study about aggressive language and behaviour of children from dysfunctional families. Sample consisted of 12 children, aged 7 through 12, from dysfunctional families. Competent referees made observation of children’s language and behaviour using observation questionnaire. The observation took part during their activities at a community day care social centre. The result showed that referees agreed that the children from the study sample often used aggressive language and behave aggressively. There is a lack of this kind of studies.

Aggression is defined as the intentional action which causes pain and injury. The actions of an aggressive nature are designed to cause physical or mental harm to another person (Aronson, Wilson, & Akert, 1997). In contrast, violence is defined as an intentional action that goes beyond social norms and causes mental or physical pain (Pospiszyl, 1999). The article is concentrated on aggressive and violent language among children and adolescents. The term of ”language of aggression” has not been precisely defined yet. The language of aggression occurs the most when negative emotions and intentions are involved in the communication (Majchrzyk, 2002). The language of aggression is not only about using specific bad words but also about the way we speak. The article presents an overview of Polish and foreign literature concerning the issue of the language of aggression in children and adolescents. It shows why do teenagers and children use aggressive language, how is defined term of ”aggressive language” and what specialists can do to prevent such kind of problem.

Opis:
There is much controversy over the definition of directiveness, as well as its impact on human interactions, and parent-child interaction is a focus of special concern in psychology. In this article, the development of the DAiS-R Scale, designed to measure parental directiveness, is reported. The DAiS-R Scale was built to assess the level and type of directiveness, which is defined as an act of speech whose purpose is to encourage a partner into doing something. Two types of directiveness emerged: aggressive and warm-hearted. The research was conducted on the sample consisted of 977 people. The theoretical accuracy of the DAiS-R Scale was verified with the help of Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The scale has good reliability and accuracy. Warm-hearted and Aggressive Scales are negatively correlated. DAiS-R Scale is not correlated with the Ray’s Directiveness Scale. The scale was used to analyze the communication style of parents. The results reveal that the child’s behaviour in kindergarten can predicted based on the parent’s results. Not only did analysis confirm the usefulness of the scale but also decisively demonstrated the crucial influence of parental communication style on children’s behaviour.

This paper provides a review of selected research on verbal aggression and aggressive forms of humor that can be observed in educational settings. These include acts of verbal aggression committed in school and college classrooms by both students and teachers. This review focuses on the interpersonal model of verbal aggressiveness (Infante, Wigley, 1986), which is rarely used in psychology, as well as the typology of humor styles, with emphasis on the aggressive style of humor (Martin, Puhlik-Doris, Larsen, Gray, Weir, 2003). Another aim of this paper is to show that disparaging, hostile, and aggressive forms of humor can be considered a significant subtype of verbally aggressive behaviors and should be recognized as such in future studies concerning these behaviors (especially bullying). The final part of this paper provides several practical implications of the review, as well as suggestions for future research.

Pixantrone is a first drug aza-anthracenedione approved as monotherapy of relapsed or refractory aggressive lymphomas. This drug has the unique chemical structure and mode of action properties distinguishing it from anthracyclines and anthracenediones. Pixantrone is one of the treatment option for heavily pretreated patients which to receive their living with doxorubicin and the further application from anthracyclines potentially can lead anthracycline-induced congestive heart failure. The benefit of pixantrone treatment has not been established in patients when used as V line or greater chemotherapy in patients who are refractory to last therapy. In general, pixantrone seems to be safe and manageable. In various trials, there were no unexpected side effects reported and no trials were closed prematurely because of side effects. In an evaluation of 12 clinical trials with pixantrone, the most common side effect (all grades) was hematological toxicity, mainly neutropenia (50% of patients; grade third/fourth: 41%), leukopenia (25%), anemia (31%), and thrombocytopenia (21%). Hematological toxicity was the main reason for a delayed start of subsequent cycles or for omitting the day-15 dose of pixantrone. In the outpatient setting, it is worth considering the use of hematopoietic growth factors. Other side effects included asthenia (23%), pyrexia (23%), and nausea, most patients experienced reversible skin discoloration

Opis:
This study examines the use of online humour in a subversive local community Facebook group set up in 2017 by disgruntled members banned from a similar group “in opposition to [the original group’s] arbitrarily-applied rules, [its] enforced happiness, and [its] suppression of any post that isn't about giving away lemons or asking to borrow small appliances”. The dissatisfaction with the guidelines and the administration of the original Facebook group provides rich material for humorous posts in the new group, many with varying degrees of aggression directed at the founder and certain members of the “Dark Side”, as the original group is frequently referred to.  This article will demonstrate how the use of humour in this new rival Facebook group is used for the purposes of inclusion and exclusion, and how it contributes to a sense of belonging in this online community of practice (Lave & Wenger 1991) created by a small group of self-declared dissidents. It will be shown how the humour shapes the identity of the group through the members’ shared ideologies and beliefs (Tanskanen 2018), and how the humorous messages intended to denigrate and belittle the “Dark Side” reinforce unity among the group members, since the feeling of superiority over those being ridiculed coexists with a feeling of belonging (Billig 2005). Fifteen single comments or multi-post threads were chosen for analysis. These appeared during the first twenty months of this rival group’s existence, and included primarily affiliative and/or aggressive humour (Meyer 2015) directed at the original group. The analysis was carried out using elements of computer-mediated discourse analysis (Herring 2004), and an insider participant-observer online ethnographic approach. The examples chosen illustrate how the humour is used to unite the members of this subversive group by dividing them from the original one, to create the joking culture (Fine and de Soucey 2005) of the new group, and in so doing, creates and sustains the members’ shared identity as irreverent breakaway troublemakers.

Aggressive behaviour is a menace that has lasting consequences on the victims and the perpetrator, which could result in school avoidance, poor academic performance, dropout, and others. Thus, the study investigated the correlation between self-concept and aggressive behaviour among undergraduate students of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The stratified random sampling technique was adopted to select 720, with 386 male and 334 female participants. An instrument titled “Self-concept and Aggressive Behaviour Questionnaire (SABQ)” was used to collect data for the study. The instrument was subjected to test-retest reliability, and a value of r=77 was obtained. The research questions were answered using mean summation and average, while the hypotheses were tested with Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation and the t-test statistics. The results revealed a low level of self-concept among respondents; males have a lower self-concept than female undergraduate students. There was a high level of aggressive behaviour among respondents; males have more aggressive behaviour than females. There was significant mean difference between male and female respondents in their self-concept and aggressive behaviour. It was recommended that school guidance counsellors design and implement programmes that could enhance self-concept and reduce aggressive behaviour among undergraduate students of universities.

We examined the effects of gender and classroom membership on moral disengagement-cognitive justifications of detrimental conduct. Sixth-graders aged 11 to 13 years (N = 273) participated in the study. Bullying was registered using the Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire and moral disengagement was measured on a 14-item scale designed for this study. The study showed that moral disengagement related to bullying and varied as a function of gender, which supports the relevance of considering gender in moral education anti-bullying programs. Next, the study revealed significant differences in moral disengagement between classrooms. This finding points to the need to elucidate associations between moral disengagement and classroom characteristics.

Opis:
This paper presents the results of the investigations of concrete on the basis of various cements available on the building market and subject to the influence of various aggressive environments (chloride, sulfate and ammonium). Considering a wide scale of the issue, attention was paid to basic tests (compression and bending) of samples after 28, 60, 90 and 180 days of their stay in an aggressive environment. The tests demonstrated that the phase composition of cements, and especially of the main components (alite, belite, celite and brownmillerite) have a fundamental influence on the durability of concrete exposed to any aggression. The images of the microstructure show differences in the created post-hydration forms and suggest the influence of aggressive environments on the cement stone set. Small quantities of calcium hydroxide and Friedel's salt have an advantageous influence on the effectiveness of the protection of concrete by a significant concentration of the microstructure and smaller pores in the material. As consequence, the possibility is limited for aggressive ions to penetrate deeper parts of the materials, which results in its better protection. Another conclusion from the investigations carried out is the greatest versatility of the application of CEM III/A 42,5 HSR/NA metallurgical cement, whose application with a low content of lime tri-carbonate silicate on the level of 29.29 per cent and a relatively large content of lime tri-carbonate aluminate (4.67%) gives statistically the best results in the form of concrete protection from among all the cements tested.

Aggressive delinquency is recognized as a one of the most serious threats for the society. Although criminal violence is often considered in the fi eld of criminology, the issues of recurrence of criminal violence are less often undertaken. The article focuses on that important area of interest in criminology, including risk assessment for recurrence of criminal violence in particular. Changes in the penal policy as well as the main assumptions of risk assessment approach were characterised from dual perspective – criminology and forensic psychology. Moreover, the risk factors and protective factors model, diagnostic methods and current directions for predicting violent recidivism were discussed. Besides, threat of criminal aggression was revealed at a broad, social context, including the problem of the “dark number of crimes”. Limitations connected with measuring extent of recurrent aggressive delinquency were also discussed. At the end of the review, authors presented theoretical model included key factors infl uencing at the general level of criminal violence treat. This model consists of four categories: 1) institutions and the legal rules, 2) professional risk assessment, 3) effectiveness of former prisoners adaptation in society, 4) social perception and social attitudes toward risk of harm caused by aggressive crime. Presented article might be useful in discussion around the issue of effective criminal violence prevention.

The beginning of the XXIst century witnessed a dozen spectacular cases which contributed to the loss of confidence in the clarity and reliability of information presented in financial statements of numerous economic entities. Those frauds started a heated debate on creative accounting, as in fact both in theory and in practice any instances of accounting operations contrary to the principles of accounting or with the actual state began to be named. In Polish literature there is disagreement not only about the very definition of “creative accounting”, but also as to whether it has a positive or negative meaning. The article tried to define, organise and differentiate both concepts. Various definitions of creative and aggressive accounting were quoted and views and addressed aspects of the issues discussed by the national authorities in the field of accounting were presented.

The article is devoted to an issue of shaping and evolution of convictions in aggressive behaviors. Convictions, as quite stable cognitive structures, do not change easily under influence of experiences. However, their influence on a person’s behavior depends above all on the way of interpretation of an event and a role played in an aggressive event. In order to illustrate the described issue, we chose a narrative (case study). On the basis of autobiographical narrative interview, experiences were reconstructed, which were influencing a shaping of convictions connected with aggressive behaviors, as well as variability, depending on a role undertaken in an aggressive behavior.
