    In this paper, the results of researches on lubricity and content analysis of the personal car’s engine oil are presented. The measurements of lubricity are made on the T02-U four-ball tester. The content analysis is made on the Spectroil Q100 spectrometer, which makes it available to measure the amount of 24 chemical elements. Due to this analysis, technical condition of the engine is possible to estimate. Tested oil is Shell Helix AV-L, which was exploited in the personal car, Volkswagen Touran, equipped with the turbo charged diesel engine, with the capacity of 2.0 litres. The samples for oil ageing characteristics were taken from the engine in the intervals approx. 3500 km. This research was performed as a result of the other studies on the dynamic viscosity characteristics. In the viscosity researches for this oil, was shown, that in the first period of the exploitation time, the viscosity decreases significantly. Detailed research on the additives and wear products content, as well as a lubricity characteristic, defines the reason of such a significant decrease of the oil properties. This paper is a part of a wider research on the oil ageing characteristics. It will support development to the new mathematical model of the lubricating oil viscosity changes during the exploitation time of the engine

    This paper is a part of the wider author’s research on the development of the new mathematical model for description of the viscosity changes of the lubrication oil in the exploitation time. Pressure of the oil is a variable parameter in the combustion engine and depends on many design parameters such as oil pump efficiency, geometry of the channels and lubricated element. It depends also on the exploitation parameters, such as rotational speed of the engine or contamination degree of the oil filter. So big amount of the factors, which have an influence on the pressure, resulted in the decision to examine, how big influence has a pressure in the oil viscosity. For the researches, the oil samples from the different combustion engines, both petrol and diesel, with different capacities, were taken into account. In each case, for the examination were taken samples both for the fresh oil and used oil from the change. Results of this research are shown in the tabular in correlation to the engines specification. In the next researches, after collecting all the oil ageing data, author will examine the pressure distribution in the slide bearing. After that it will be will possible to estimate the importance of the pressure changes for the proper work of the engine.

    In this paper we present a study on Li-Ion Battery (LIB) modelling, including battery ageing profile, as a ground for development of state of health (SoH) prediction and monitoring system. An influence of LIB ageing was included by the mean of ageing module, based on voltage, resistance and capacity characteristics, resulting from preliminary experimental measurements. Our model, based on equivalent circuit model (ECM) and parameter estimation procedure, was implemented in MATLAB software and then validated. The simulation results are used for battery SoH estimation, which may be use in a future to optimize the conditions of LIB cycling and therefore extend the battery lifetime.
    Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia badania nad stworzeniem modelu baterii litowo-jonowej, uwzględniającego procesy starzenia baterii, jako podstawę do budowy systemu monitorowania stanu baterii. Wpływ procesów starzenia został uwzględniony za pomocą specjalnego modułu, zdefiniowanego przy pomocy parametrów (tj. charakterystyki napięciowe, impedancyjne, pojemnościowe) uzyskanych na drodze pomiarów eksperymentalnych. Opracowany model, oparty na równoważnym dwugałęziowym modelu elektrycznym RC, został zaimplementowany w środowisku MATLAB, a następnie poddany walidacji. Wyniki przeprowadzonych symulacji wykorzystano do opracowania algorytmu estymacji stanu baterii, który w przyszłości może posłużyć do optymalizacji warunków pracy ogniw litowo-jonowych.

    In the presented paper the authors propose a new mathematical model of aging process proceeded in thick film electroluminescent structures. The impact of humidity, temperature and supply voltage parameters (amplitude, frequency) on luminance changes during long time exploitation tests was taken into consideration. It was observed that the electroluminophore in Destriau electroluminescent cells exhibit very fast decrease in luminance in the initial phase of exploitation. The results of investigations indicate that the increase of amplitude and frequency of supply voltage accelerate the aging process. The rate of the aging process is also significantly influenced by the ambient temperature and elevated humidity combined with a supply voltage. The proposed model enables to estimate the life-time of electroluminescent structures on a base of exploitation tests in their initial stage.
    Autorzy proponują w artykule nowy matematyczny model procesu starzenia zachodzącego w grubowarstwowych strukturach elektroluminescencyjnych. Uwzględniono wpływ wilgoci, temperatury i parametrów napięcia zasilającego (amplituda, częstotliwość) na zmiany luminancji podczas prób eksploatacyjnych. Zaobserwowano, że w początkowej fazie eksploatacji elektroluminofor w strukturach Destriau - warstwowych strukturach elektroluminescencyjnych, bardzo szybko zmniejsza luminancję. Wyniki badań wskazują, że wzrost wielkości amplitudy napięcia zasilającego i częstotliwości przyspiesza proces starzenia. Szybkość procesu starzenia struktur elektroluminescencyjnych w istotny sposób zależy od temperatury otoczenia i podwyższonej wilgotności w powiązaniu z napięciem zasilania. Zaproponowany model umożliwia oszacowanie czasu życia struktur elektroluminescencyjnych w oparciu o wyniki badań eksploatacyjnych, już w początkowej ich fazie.

    W pracy podjęto próbę zbadania pozainstytucjonalnego wsparcia udzielanego osobom w starszym wieku doświadczającym problemów z czynnościami życia codziennego. Skonstruowano wielo- i dwumianowe modele logitowe dla zweryfikowania hipotez, głoszących, że występowanie tych problemów wpływa na zamieszkiwanie w określonym typie gospodarstwa domowego oraz że otrzymywanie pomocy pozainstytucjonalnej spoza gospodarstwa przez osoby z problemami życia codziennego jest determinowane typem gospodarstwa domowego i cechami społeczno-demograficznymi populacji otrzymującej wsparcie. Teoretyczną podstawę analizy stanowi nowe podejście do starzenia się ludności przedstawione w pracy Multilinks Framework. Otrzymane wyniki umożliwiły sformułowanie wniosków, które są spójne z rezultatami otrzymanymi przez innych badaczy na podstawie innych baz danych i przy zastosowaniu różnych metod.
    The main goal of the study is to investigate the informal support that older people who experience difficulties in everyday life receive outside the household. The multi- and binomial logit models are the tools used for verifying the hypothesis that the occurrence of the difficulties in everyday life of the elderly determine their living arrangements, and that receiving help outside the household depends on living arrangement and socio-economic characteristics of receivers. The empirical analysis builds upon a new approach to population ageing presented in Multilinks Framework. The results of the work allow formulating general conclusions that confirm the findings obtained by other researchers working on different databases and using different methods.

    W artykule zaprezentowano zagadnienia związane z rozwojem dolegliwości mięśniowo-szkieletowych (MSDs). Przedstawiono przyczyny rozwoju MSDs, model ich rozwoju uwzględniający ekspozycje, czyi i obciążenie uwarunkowane stanowiskiem pracy; dawkę czyli obciążenia na poziomie struktur wewnętrznych, pojemność odpowiadającą możliwościom fizycznym pracownika oraz odpowiedź, która jest bezpośrednim elementem modelu, od którego zależy rozwój dolegliwości. Przedstawiono wybrane dane prezentujące MSDs u pracowników UE (27) w różnych grupach wiekowych, wartości siły prostowania kolana w populacji osób starszych, a także zmiany w wartościach maksymalnej siły prostowania kolana, jakie objawiają się pod wpływem treningu siłowego. Jako podsumowanie przedstawiono stwierdzenie, iż przeciwdziałanie zmianom funkcjonalnym w układzie mięśniowo-szkieletowym zachodzącym wraz z wiekiem może odbywać się przez dostosowanie stanowisk pracy do możliwości osób starszych, a także za pomocą realizacji programów rehabilitacji osób starszych i z niepełnosprawnościami.
    The article presents the issues related to the development of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). It presents factors laying behind the MSDs development and the model of its development The model takes into account exposure, i.e the load conditioned on workstand; dose, which is the level of the load on the internal structures; capacity corresponding to the physical capabilities of the employee and the response; which is a direct feature of the model that determines the development of the disease. The paper presents selected data showing MSDs among workers of the EU (27) in different age groups, the knee extension strength in the elderly population and changes in the values of the maximum strength of the knee, which manifest themselves under the influence of physical training. As a summary is presented a statement that counteraction of functional changes in the musculoskeletal system that occurs with age can be done by adjusting the job to the possibility of the elderly, as well as through the implementation of programs of rehabilitation of the elderly and people with disabilities.

    The Author of the article sets as a research goal the diagnosis of the role of the ideological factor and objective structural conditions in the evolution of regulated capitalism on the European continent. In the text the European social model was characterized, the influence of globalisation on the regulated European capitalism was analyzed, the challenges of demography which are posed for the social structures, the job market and social security in Europe were discussed. The Author analysed the changes happening on the European job market since the 1980s in the field of institutional solutions, position of the employee, policy tools for the job market. The convergence and divergence dynamic in the development of the European social policy and the role of the EU institutions in managing the problems of modern Europe were analysed. Finally the influence of the Eurozone’s economic crisis on the EU social policy was diagnosed. In order to operationalise the research, historical and comparative methods will be used as well as institutional analysis and social index analysis.

    Celem pracy była ocena wpływu procesu przyspieszonego starzenia materiałów wykorzystywanych do produkcji smoczków dziecięcych, na zmianę właściwości powierzchni na podstawie pomiarów kąta zwilżania. Wyznaczona swobodna energia powierzchniowa (SEP) oraz jej składowe wskazują na wyraźny wpływ parametrów procesu starzenia na właściwości powierzchni smoczków lateksowych i silikonowych. Badania ujawniły znaczące różnice w kierunkach zmian SEP na skutek zjawiska starzenia. Uważa się, iż ma to wpływ na inicjowanie zjawiska adhezji bakterii.
    The aim of the study was to assess the impact of the accelerated aging of materials for baby’s pacifiers, on the surface properties based on wetting measurements. The research method consisted in assessing the contact angle in the sitting drop procedure based on the analysis of its shape in the subsequent stages of the aging process. For each stage and material, the value of surface free energy (SEP) was determined, which was also subjected to statistical analysis. Analytical model of Owens-Wendt was used for the calculations.
