Kazakh traditional wisdom says “Kaytyp kelgen kyz zhaman” - a girl who returns to her parental home after marriage is a disgrace to the family. According to a women’s rights organization, up to 5,000 bride kidnapping acts occur annually in contemporary Kazakhstan. The authors would like to approach this socio-cultural phenomenon through considering the current situation of women and their rights in Kazakhstan. The article examines how outdated traditions and customs violate women’s’ personal boundaries and rights in Kazakhstan. Its main purpose is to attract the attention of the reader and potential researcher and to familiarize them with the topic (a specific form of violence against women), research methods, and research challenges. Until September 2019, there was no special legislation in Kazakhstan aimed at combating domestic violence. However, with the adoption of the Law “On the Prevention of Domestic Violence and the Protection of Victims of Domestic Violence” in September 2019, Kazakhstan introduced institutional measures to prevent and punish domestic violence. Nevertheless, people continue to follow their traditional customs, rather than live in accordance with new legislation.

Praca koncentruje się na badaniu bezrobocia kobiet na tle ogólnych uwarunkowań, stanu i efektów bezrobocia w województwie mazowieckim i w Polsce. Założono hipotezy, iż kobiety mimo dobrego wykształcenia mają większe problemy niż mężczyźni ze znalezieniem i utrzymaniem miejsca pracy, czego głównym powodem są pełnione przez kobiety funkcje społeczne oraz stereotypy dotyczące pracy kobiet. Analiza danych statystycznych i własne badania sondażowe potwierdziły duże zróżnicowanie rynku pracy na terenie województwa i silny pozytywny wpływ miasta Warszawy na regionalny rynek pracy kobiet. Bezrobocie kobiet na terenie województwa kształtuje się na podobnym poziomie jak bezrobocie mężczyzn. Pozytywne zjawiska jakie mają miejsce na rynku pracy kobiet są efektem stosowania aktywnych form polityki rynku pracy finansowanych z funduszy europejskich.
The paper focuses on the study of female unemployment against the overall conditions, state and the effects of unemployment in Mazowieckie Voivodeship and in Poland. Hypothesis assumed indicate that women, despite a good education, have greater problems than men in finding and keeping jobs, which mainly results from the social functions performed by women and the stereotypes about women and their work. Analysis of statistical data and author’s own research confirmed the diversity of the labor market in the region and a strong positive impact of the city of Warsaw on the regional labor market in case of women. Unemployment among women in the region is at a similar level to male unemployment. Positive developments that are taking place in the labor market for women are the result of the use of active labor market policies financed with European funds.

Expressions of inequality and gender-based violence that characterize the societies of Latin America have its correlate in political dynamics. The electoral political scenario manifests conditions of quantitative inequality – associated with the disparity in access to positions of citizen representation between both sexes – as well as forms of qualitative inequality – linked to the unequal treatment of women in relation to the exercise of political rights. In this scenario, the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development is an opportunity to transform this reality. In particular, it is necessary to detect what have been the main strategies to transform the political practice associated with women.
La desigualdad y violencia de género que caracterizan a las sociedades de América Latina tienen su correlato en la dinámica política. El escenario político electoral manifiesta condiciones de desigualdad cuantitativa –asociada a la disparidad en el acceso a cargos de representación ciudadana entre ambos sexos–; así como formas de desigualdad cualitativa –vinculadas al trato desigual que reciben las mujeres. En este escenario, la puesta en marcha de la Agenda 2030 constituye una posibilidad para transformar esta realidad a través del diseño de estrategias capaces de conciliar el plano formal y el plano de real de la ciudadanía política de las mujeres en contextos de desigualdad y violencia de género.

Polish and Ukrainian poetry on World War I have much in common: they were written mainly by soldier-poets, young men fighting in the Polish Legions or the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen. This poetry is, first of all, a patriotic legitimation of the war as a way of regaining political independence. Heroism and suffering for the fatherland are dominating issues. Nevertheless, besides this pathetic gesture, we can find voices that point out the horror of war and question it at all. Such criticisms is expressed by certain motives, which appear in both the Legions’ and the Sich Riflemens’ poetry, like: fratricide, lists from soldiers to their families at home, devastation of nature and culture, autumn and death, as well as pacifist notions. These voices do not form any dominant discourse in the poetry on World War I, but they are not to be ignored, as they mark a common place in the Polish and Ukrainian literature at this time, which has not been researched until now.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie regulacji dotyczących tak zwanych aktów staranności umożliwiających skuteczne dochodzenie roszczeń wobec przewoźnika za szkody w przesyłce i wynikające z opóźnienia w przewozie. W opracowaniu wskazano na istotę aktów staranności i ich charakter na gruncie poszczególnych przepisów regulujących umowę przewozu krajowego i międzynarodowego. Sformułowano wnioski de lege ferenda odnoszące się do przyszłej polskiej regulacji umowy przewozu. Autorka postuluje rezygnację ze skutku materialnoprawnego zaniechania aktów staranności w postaci wygaśnięcia roszczeń. Wyraża przekonanie, że akty staranności powinny być unormowane wyłącznie na płaszczyźnie dowodowej.
The aim of this article is to present the regulation concerning the so-called acts of diligence which have to be completed to allow making an effective claim against the carrier for a damage to goods or delay in a carriage. The article points out the essence of the acts of diligence and their nature on the basis of domestic and international regulations governing a contract of carriage. Some conclusions de lege ferenda concerning the future Polish regulation of the contract of carriage have been formulated. The author is of the opinion that an omission of acts of diligence should not lead to an expiration of claims. She believes that such an omission should causes effects only in terms of evidence, also with regard to a delay in a carriage.

Przedstawiono przypadki stosowania w KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. O/ZG „Rudna" strzelań w warstwach stropowych w ramach profilaktyki tąpaniowej w różnych uwarunkowaniach geologiczno-górniczych. Omówiono genezę, przebieg i efektywność odprężenia górotworu strzelaniem długimi otworami w warstwach stropowych na przykładzie pól eksploatacyjnych G-23/1, G-1/7, X/1, G-7/5 i G-11/8. W przypadku pól G-23/1 i G-1/7, z uwagi na rodzaj użytego MW i długość otworów strzałowych rzędu 60 m, konieczne było opracowanie przez służby kopalni wielu szczegółów technicznych dotyczących konstrukcji i sposobu ładowania MW oraz jego zabezpieczenia przed wypadnięciem z otworu.
This paper presents the cases of using blasting in roof layers in the framework of prevention against tremors in different geological and mining conditions, performed in KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. "Rudna" coal mine. It describes the origin, course and efficiency of rock mass decompression thanks to blasting with long blast-holes in roof layers on the example of exploitation fields G-23/1, G-1/7, X/1, G-7/5 and G-11/8. In cases of fields G-23/1 and G-1/7, it was necessary to develop a series of technical details, concerning the structure and manner of loading the blasting material and securing it against falling down the hole, because of the type of the used blasting material and the length of blast-holes amounting to 60m.

Szczegółowa analiza korespondencji M.N. Kreczetnikowa, dowódcy wojsk rosyjskich w wojnie 1792 r., którego zadaniem było opanowanie terenu Wielkiego Księstwa Litewskiego i wspieranie targowiczan w zawiązywaniu lokalnych konfederacji, daje nowe, istotne informacje o tych ważnych dla historii Rzeczypospolitej wydarzeniach. Przede wszystkim ukazuje istotną rozbieżność między informacjami zawartymi w opublikowanych raportach Kreczetnikowa do Katarzyny II i P.A. Zubowa a w niepublikowanej oraz mało znanej części jego korespondencji do N.I. Sałtykowa. 
The author analyses the official correspondence of the commander of the Russian army Mikhail N. Krechetnikov, revealing completely different accounts and opinions of the events of the 1792 war and the creation of pro-Russian confederations in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. One part of Krechetnikov’s letters to Empress Catherine II and her favourite Platon A. Zubov is widely known; it was published as early as the nineteenth century, and when there was no access to Russian archives, it often served as a basis for researchers’ theses and establishments of facts. In this part of his letters, Krechetnikov described in detail the victories of Russian troops and their political consequences in the form of the creation of local confederations, while refraining from comments that could even partially overshadow the success in the eyes of the empress. His other, much more personal and real opinions about the events of 1792, are to be found in Krechetnikov’s letters to the head of the Military College in the person of Nikolai I. Saltykov, which have not been published.One of the main subjects of this correspondence was the sharp conflict between Krechetnikov and Szymon Kossakowski, one of the members of the confederation of Targowica and Zubov’s protégé. It is this part of the letters that remains unknown even to specialists, while it contains in the most objective Kreczetnikov’s presentation of military and political events of 1792, with a description of numerous problems of the Russian army, their fears of uprising at the back of their troops and difficulties in creating local confederations. After comparing the content of Krechetnikov’s correspondence to various recipients, we can clearly see that the reports sent to Empress Catherine II by military commanders did not provide a real picture of the situation; only after analysing other archival materials (in this case correspondence with Saltykov), we can learn the real situation. Most importantly, this image shows in a completely different light the scene of the struggle in the war of 1792 and its assessment from the perspective of its main actors, Russian commanders. 
Автор анализирует содержание служебной переписки генерал-аншефа российских войск М.Н. Кречетникова, с указанием противоречивого отражения в ней военных событий 1792 г. и создания пророссийских конфедераций в Великом Княжестве Литовском. Одна часть писем М.Н. Кречетникова, Екатерине II и её фавориту П.А. Зубову, – широко известна, поскольку была опубликована в ХIХ веке и в ситуации отсутствия доступа к российским архивам часто служила исследователям основой для выводов и предположений. В этой части своих донесений М.Н. Кречетников подробно описывал победы российского оружия и их политические последствия, в виде образования местных конфедераций, воздерживаясь при этом от добавления информации, которая могла бы даже частично затмить успех в глазах императрицы. Иную, гораздо более личную и объективную, оценку со стороны М.Н. Кречетникова события 1792 г. получили в его неопубликованных письмах к руководителю Военной коллегии России Н.И. Салтыкову. Один из центральных сюжетов их переписки – острый конфликт М.Н. Кречетникова с Ш. Коссаковским, представителем конфедерации, выступающим в роли протеже П.А. Зубова.Хотя данная группа источников остается неизвестной даже специалистам, именно она содержит наиболее объективное изложение М.Н. Кречетниковым военно-политических событий 1792 г., с констатацией многочисленных проблем российской армии, наличия у российских офицеров опасений восстания в тылу своих войск, описания ими трудностей создания локальных конфедераций. Таким образом, сравнение содержания разных групп служебной переписки М.Н. Кречетникова показывает, что отправляемые Екатерине II российскими военачальниками рапорты не отражали истинный характер дел; только после знакомства с другими источниками (в данном случае, с корреспонденцией Н.И. Салтыкова) мы можем увидеть реальную картину событий. Самое главное, что эта картина в совершенно ином свете показывает сцену войны 1792 года и оценку происходящих на ней событий с точки зрения главных действующих лиц, руководителей российской армии.

Opis:
The aim of the article is to present the activity of three branches of the Association of Ukrainians in Poland, covering the entire Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The study also outlines the Association’s activities supporting refugees. The main research hypothesis is that the Association of Ukrainians in Poland is actively engaged in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, and following Russia’s full-scale invasion, members of the Association became extremely proactive both in helping refugees from Ukraine, as well as Ukrainians who stayed in Ukraine, including those from the territory of military operations. The core research problems focuses on the following questions: What efforts did the Association of Ukrainians in Poland undertake to maintain its history, traditions, language and culture? Which activities have been supported by local government authorities, including the Voivodeship ones? How has the Association changed its activity following the Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine on February 24, 2022? Previous studies conducted by the authors demonstrate that economic migrants from Ukraine in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship did not perceive themselves as a part of the Ukrainian minority living in the region. Meanwhile, the relationship between the Association and the refugees is different.
Цель статьи – представить деятельность трёх отделений Ассоциации украинцев Польши, охватывающих всё Варминско-Мазурское воеводство. В исследовании также изложена деятельность Ассоциации по поддержке беженцев. Основная гипотеза исследования заключается в том, что Ассоциация украинцев Польши активно занимается в Варминьско-Мазурском воеводстве, а после полномасштабного вторжения России члены Ассоциации стали чрезвычайно активно помогать как беженцам из Украины, так и украинцам, которые остались на Украине, в том числе с территории боевых действий. Основные проблемы исследования сосредоточены на следующих вопросах: Какие усилия предприняла Ассоциация украинцев в Польше для сохранения своей истории, традиций, языка и культуры? Какие мероприятия были поддержаны органами местного самоуправления, в том числе воеводскими? Как Ассоциация изменила свою деятельность после полномасштабной агрессии России против Украины 24 февраля 2022 года? Предыдущие исследования, проведенные авторами, показывают, что экономические мигранты из Украины в Варминско-Мазурском воеводстве не ощущали себя частью украинского меньшинства, проживающего в регионе. Между тем, отношения между Ассоциацией и беженцами иные.

Women face difficulties to enter the political arena. In recent years, political harassment has been shown to be one of the four main obstacles to women’s participation in politics. This article presents the research results of the limitations in the development of activities and functions of 17 alderwomen in district and provincial municipalities in Lima and Puno between 2015 and 2018, in Peru. The aim is to make visible the situations of violence against women in these political contexts, in which they are discredited and are constantly facing problems that can affect their functions and their expectations of political participation.
Las mujeres enfrentan serias dificultades para ingresar en la arena política. En los últimos años se ha evidenciado al acoso político como uno de los cuatro principales obstáculos para la participación de mujeres en la política peruana. El artículo presenta los resultados de investigación de las limitantes en el desarrollo de actividades y funciones de 17 mujeres regidoras en municipalidades distritales y provinciales en Lima y Puno entre 2015 y 2018, en el Perú. Se pretende visibilizar las situaciones de violencia, desacreditación, las problemáticas por las que atraviesan las autoridades y cómo estas pueden repercutir en sus funciones y sus expectativas de participación política.

Identyfikację tych działań oparto na postulatach koncepcji społecznej odpowiedzialności przedsiębiorstwa (CSR) w zakresie powinności przedsiębiorstwa wobec swoich pracowników. W wymiarze praktycznym w artykule dokonano analizy studium przypadku wybranego polskiego przedsiębiorstwa w zakresie informacji ujętej w raporcie rocznym na temat rodzaju działań podejmowanych na rzecz pracowników. Działania podejmowane przez badane przedsiębiorstwo skonfrontowano z postulatami teorii w tym zakresie. Badania wykazały, że działania na rzecz pracowników podejmowane przez analizowaną spółkę w szerokim zakresie pokrywają się z rekomendowanymi.
The main purpose of the study was the identification of activities which may be taken by companies against their employees, as a group of stakeholders. This identification is grounded on the theory of corporate social responsibility, within the recommended actions and responsibilities of a company against the employees. In practical dimension, the study provides the analysis of a case study of one Polish company. The case study is based on the data provided in annual reports of a company with regard to various types of actions taken against the employees. These actions were further confronted with the recommendations of the theory. The study found that the analyzed company articulates wide range of actions supporting employees, which widely corresponds with the recommendations of the theory.

The aim of this article is to present the most important issues related to discrimination against women on the Polish labour market. Visible differences between the situation of women and men can be seen when analysing the level of unemployment, which for years has been higher for women. The author put forward a hypothesis that women face discrimination both when looking for a job as well as during their employment relationship. The article consists of an introduction, three parts and a summary. The first part presents the concept and essence of discrimination. The second part presents the situation of women on the Polish labour market. It also presents the difficulties faced by women on their career path. The third part presents the results of research on discrimination against women on the labour market in Częstochowa. The study was conducted between October 2018 and January 2019 among 100 randomly selected women from the city of Częstochowa. The survey used a questionnaire in a paper version. The questions were of a closed nature.

Speech against Sidon, like any other speeches against other foreign nations in the Book of Ezekiel is God's answer to the joy of nations, that have so far escaped the same fate as dying Jerusalem and who are taking pleasure in the misfortune of Judah. These Oracles show us that God has power over all creation and in accordance with the order enclosed in the Book of Jeremiah among others, He is the one who decides about the fate of nations: “I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me”. (Jer. 27: 5). As a result of actions, which God announces in his oracles may the nations know that He alone is the Lord, He has the fate of nations in His hands, He – “For the Lord is high, and terrible, a great king over all the earth. He hath subdued the people under us, and the nations under our feet” (Psalm 47: 3-4).

Introduction: Female genital mutilation is a practice that causes devastating physical, psychological, and social consequences for girls and women. Female genital mutilation is internationally recognized as a violation of the human rights of girls and women.Purpose:To examine whether women are appropriately protected against female genital mutilation under Polish criminal law, in particular, whether a special criminal offence should be created.Materials and methods:The international legal acts, reports and other online available data related to female genital mutilation have been examined. The provisions of the Polish Penal Code and the relevant regulations of English criminal law have been analysed. Moreover, judgements of the Polish courts and the literature have also been the subject of research.Results:In Poland, there is no special legislation on female genital mutilation. However, female genital mutilation is punishable under general criminal law provisions. Female genital mutilation is a criminal offence and can be prosecuted as a form of grievous bodily injury or as a form of bodily injury and impairment to health.Conclusions:Alegislative action is needed to ensure that acts of female genital cutting are criminalized irrespective of the place of their commission. The Polish criminal lawmaker should make female genital mutilation exempt from the condition of double criminalization.

Artykuł stanowi refleksję autora na temat sensu i sposobu rozumienia, a tym samym praktycznego stosowania niektórych zapisów zawartych w art. 306 polskiego Kodeksu postępowania karnego. Chodzi o możliwość złożenia zażalenia na postanowienie w przedmiocie wszczęcia śledztwa (i odpowiednio dochodzenia). W praktyce działania sądów pojawia się tendencja do uznawania, że uprawnionemu, który złożył takie zażalenie, w przypadku, gdy zostało ono rozpatrzone pozytywnie i prokuratura zajęła się sprawą, jednak ostatecznie uznała, że brak jest podstaw do wniesienia aktu oskarżenia do sądu, w rezultacie czego umorzyła postępowanie, nie przysługuje już prawo do zaskarżenia postanowienia o takim umorzeniu. Miałoby to stanowić efekt wcześniejszego skorzystania z prawa do wniesienia zażalenia. Autor wykazuje, że jest to rozumowanie błędne.
The article is the author’s reflection on the meaning and understanding of, and thus the practical application of certain provisions of the art. 306 Polish Code of Criminal Procedure. The point is to make a complaint against the decision to initiate the investigation. In practice, the operation of the courts there is a tendency to recognize that the holder who has submitted a complaint in the case, when it was considered favorably and the prosecutor’s office took up the case, but ultimately concluded that there are no grounds for prosecution to the court, as a result, discontinued the proceedings, no longer have the right to appeal against a decision of such redemption. This would be the effect of early exercise of the right to bring a complaint. The author shows that this reasoning is wrong.
