    The phenomenon of the war through the frame of the political-aesthetical approach is conducted. The aim of the article is to research the moving factors, elements and function of the political aesthetization of the war as a political phenomenon and a complex political process. The methodology of this research is based on the political-aesthetical approach, which introduce the connection and interaction between the aesthetical and political spheres as a collection of the specific political-aesthetical phenomena and processes, emerging from the law of the people psychic working. The idea, that the people psychic works on the aesthetical laws, give us the possibility to view the political aesthetization as a natural process of political consequence. Thus, the main factors of political aesthetization of the war we could define as a irrational nature of political things, a strong emotional influence of the political thinking process by natural and managed sources, a correlation between political values and the aesthetical judgment. The elements of the political aesthetization process are determined as the political symbolization, political metaphorization and political ritualization. As to the war we conduct the symbols of the war, weapon, army and other war’s attributes; the rituals of the peace and war; the main metaphors, which descript the war and give some imagination about the war’s attributes and senses. We define the key functions of the political aesthetization of the war as the valuation, interpretation, mobilization, behavioral model’s forming and the other.

    The study of design practices in aesthetic terms (aesthetization and aesthetic experience) may appear, seemingly, trivial and irrelevant. However, the human environment today is in such a fundamental transition that failure to take account of this aspect is unfounded. The aim of design is primarily to produce artefacts, to transform them into a natural environment, but also, perhaps even above all, to maintain a balanced relationship between the ecosphere and the “artificial” human world, created and orchestrated for him. It is not just about designing an object, a system, an interaction or relationship that guarantees simplicity and efficiency, that is, a defined utility, but a deeper reflection on how a particular person experiences it and what the consequences this experience brings. Therefore, the purpose of design in this article will be expanded to include an aesthetic aspect, because isolation from the aesthetic criterion (regardless of how we understand it) in contemporary design practices seems to be difficult to maintain.

    The article develops the researches started by Jerzy Jarzębski; it discusses the phenomenon of kitsch in the work of Witold Gombrowicz. The study is based on a content analysis of selected fragments of works by this author (especially the novel under the title “Ferdydurke”) and it refers to the selected concepts of modernity and postmodernity (W. Welsch, R. Rorty, J. Baudrillard). The writer himself is treated as an original philosopher of modernity (and later – postmodernity – thanks to this, he was ahead of his time). The work presents the thesis that we can assign to Gombrowicz – both the modernist sense of the category of kitsch and practices of its parody, as well as a peculiar tendency to kitsch and a tendency to play with kitsch. This tendency is analyzed in the article as an attitude corresponding with a postmodern condition, especially with its characteristic phenomenon called the aesthetization of culture, which was mentioned, among other things, by Wolfgang Welsch (culture of design, gadget and superficial styling). Philosophy of Gombrowicz in this sense corresponds with the postmodern rehabilitation of kitsch.

    Materiał artykułu stanowią warstwy językowe emitowanych w telewizji polskiej bajek, programów fabularnych i reportaży. Gatunki są dobrane na zasadzie zróżnicowania pod względem struktury, funkcjonalności i stylu, by łatwo dało się wykazać realizacje strategii estetycznych, które mają cel retoryczny. Estetyzacja oraz anestetyzacja i antyestetyzacja powinny się w tych zróżnicowanych tekstach pojawić i być umotywowane. Autorka prowadzi rozważania z perspektywy mediolingwistyki, używa narzędzi stylistyki i posiłkuje się ustaleniami aksjolingwistyki. Analiza stylistyczna wykazała, że kategorie estetyczne mogą służyć jako narzędzie w badaniu multimodalnego tekstu telewizyjnego, który prymarnie nie jest przeznaczony do analizy przeżyć estetycznych.  
    The article's material consists of language layers of fairy tales, fables and reportages broadcast on Polish television. Genres are selected based on differentiation in terms of structure, functionality and style, so it is easy to demonstrate the implementation of rhetorical strategies. Aestheticisation, anaesthesia and anti-aestheticisation should appear in these various texts and be motivated. The author considers from the perspective of medialinguistics, uses the tools of stylistics and draws on the findings of axiolinguistics. The stylistic analysis showed that aesthetic categories serve as a tool in the study of multimodal television text, which is not primarily designed for aesthetic experiences.

    Punktem wyjścia rozważań są koncepcje Pierra Nory oraz Alison Landsberg. Odchodzenie bezpośrednich świadków historii zdaniem P. Nory zrzuca na instytucje archiwizujące (w tym na muzea) obowiązek magazynowania śladów przeszłości. Natomiast A. Landsberg obnaża postępujący proces uzależniania się mechanizmów kształtowania pamięci we współczesnym społeczeństwie od najnowszych technologii i produktów popkultury. Muzea Holokaustu poszukują adekwatnego języka mówienia o Zagładzie w sytuacji, gdy podobnie jak inne instytucje muzealne muszą dopasować się do nowych oczekiwań odbiorców i dostosować swoją przestrzeń i sposób eksponowania do aktualnych warunków kulturowych. W szerszy nurt zmian kulturowych wpisać możemy proces deprofesjonalizacji pamięci oraz nowy paradygmat zdobywania wiedzy. Wyniki badań empirycznych dowodzą, że odbiorca nie oczekuje jedynie intelektualnego kontaktu z przeszłością; najbardziej pożądaną formą poznania minionych wydarzeń jest przekroczenie biernej granicy obserwacji oraz pragnienie zmysłowego doznania historii. W tej perspektywie Miejsce Pamięci i Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau jako fizyczny ślad przeszłości, zgodnie z koncepcją Aleidy Assmann o "pamięci miejsca", gwarantuje doznania zmysłowe i afektywne. W dalszej części artykułu przedstawiono strategie wykorzystywania produktów popkulturowych do przetwarzania i opisywania wydarzeń historycznych, sposoby organizowania przestrzeni muzealnej oddziałującej na emocje i wyobraźnię odbiorcy, zachęcającej do indywidualnego odkrywania historii oraz związane z tym obawy przed banalizacją i trywializacją przekazu.
    The starting point for the discussion are the concepts of Pierre Nora and Alison Landsberg. According to P. Nora, the passing away of eyewitnesses to history transfers the obligation to store the traces of the past onto archiving institutions (including museums). A. Landsberg, in turn, reveals the process in which the mechanisms of memory shaping in the contemporary society become dependent on the state-of-the-art technologies and pop-culture products. Museums of the Holocaust are searching for an appropriate language to talk about the Holocaust in a situation where, like other museum institutions, they have to adjust to the new expectations of the audience, and tailor their space and ways of exhibition to the current cultural conditions and new means of learning. Empirical investigations have proven that nowadays receivers do not merely expect to approach the past intellectually, but also to cross the passive boundary of observation, and desire to have sensual experience of history. From this perspective, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum as a physical trace of the past, in accordance with Aleida Assmann's concept of "a memory of place", provides the visitors with sensual and emotional experience. In its further part, the article presents strategies for using the products of popular culture for processing and describing historical events, the ways of organizing museum space which affects the emotions and the imagination of receivers and invites them to discover history for themselves. Also, it discusses the resulting concerns about the potential trivialization of the communicated message.

    Tekst problematyzuje zarysowane zakresy sprzężeń (czasem pułapek podwójnego uwiązania) między przesądzeniami estetycznymi i ich aksjologicznymi dopełnieniami w intencji troski o nową jakość pedagogiki w Polsce. Mowa jest o trudnościach w torowaniu drogi do wartości kultury i sztuki w teorii pedagogicznej i praktyce edukacyjnej – w obliczu dwoistości wyzwań w pułapkach estetyzacji tożsamości i profesjonalnego działania. Uznając potrzebę wręcz trzęsienia ziemi w dominującej mentalności akademickiej autor wypracowuje szereg narzędzi interpretacyjnych, których źródła lokuje w rozmaitych obszarach współczesnej humanistyki, przywołując wykorzystane zaplecze literatury, ale przede wszystkim odsyłając do swoich konsekwentnych w tym wysiłku prac badawczych ostatnich lat (serii studiów monograficznych). W wyróżnionych paragrafach podejmowanych jest pięć następujące obszarów problemowych: (1) Edukacja między strzępkami kultury i resztkami tradycji w niemocy nowoczesności; (2) O estetyzacji obecności tradycji myślowej w obiegowych narracjach akademickich w humanistyce nie tylko z pedagogiką w tle; (3) Przesądzające wyobrażenia i roszczenia w kwestii jakości postawy poznawczej z realizmem estetycznym w tle; (4) Pedagogiczne pytania o estetykę i estetyzację w kontekście konsekwencji wartościowania dla edukacji; (5) Aksjologia pedagogiczna w świetle idei pedagogiki niewidzialnej (przypadki Basila Bernsteina i Heleny Radlińskiej, choć nie tylko). I część pracy odczytuje na użytek pedagogiki fascynującą narrację Przemysława Czaplińskiego w książce „Resztki nowoczesności” ukazującej historię literatury współczesnej jako atakującej procedury stanowienia świata społecznego i indywidualnych tożsamości. II część pracy stanowi syntezę pomysłów własnych niniejszego autora wypracowanych w jego książkach. Autor uwypukla jako paradygmatyczną dla jego podejścia ideę kultury jako gleby, stanowiącej życiodajny grunt, wymagający pedagogiki przeżycia, przebudzenia i przemiany oraz rozwoju duchowego wymagającego wrastania i wzrastania w efekcie sycenia się dostępem do ciągle pomnażanego symbolicznego dziedzictwa kulturowego jako źródła narzędzi do budowy własnej tożsamości.
    The paper tends to problematize the schematically indicated scope of dual interaction (sometimes double bind) between aesthetical prejudices and their axiological complementary counterparts with the intention of care concerning a new quality of pedagogy in Poland. It deals with difficulties in making way for values of culture and art within pedagogical theory and educational practice – facing duality of challenges within traps of aesthetisizing identity and professional activity. Recognizing even the necessity of an earthquake within the dominant academic mentality (ecology of mind), the author is elaborating a number of interpretative instruments, which with their sources are located within different spheres of the contemporary humanities, represented by a recalled literature but mostly through references to his consequent, in this respect, research of recent years (monographic studies). Within explicitely individuated subchapters there are undertaken the following five fields of questions: (1) Education between the fragments of culture and the rests of tradition within the powerless modernity; (2) On the aesthetization of traditions of thought within current academic narrations throughout humanities not only with pedagogy at the backstage; (3) The a priori settling imaginations concerning the quality of cognitive approach, including various aesthetizatons of the postulat of ‘realism’ at the backstage; (4) The pedagogical questions concerning aesthetics and aesthetizations viewed within their valuative repercussions for education; (5) The pedagogical axiology in view of the idea of invisible pedagogy (the case of Basil Bernstein and Helena Radlinska but not only). The first part of the paper applies for the pedagogical purpose a fascinating narration by Przemyslaw Czaplinski in his book „The Rests of Modernity”, which shows the history of the modern literature in Poland as challenging dominating procedures of constituting social world and human identities. The second part of the paper constitutes a synthesis of the present author’s ideas elaborated in his recent books. As paradigmatic for his approach the present author emphasizes the idea of culture as a soil, constituting vitally fruitful ground, requesting the pedagogy of emotional approach, intellectual waking up and spiritual transformation and linked with development needing growing into that soil in order to grow in one’s own potential as an effect of saturation with the help of access to permanently multiplicated symbolic patrimony of culture as a resource of instruments to building of one’s own identity.
