    The paper presents the basic aspects of developing professional-aesthetic taste of future cooks and confectioners. The Sate Standard of the direction of training future cooks and confectioners is viewed. On the basis of summarizing the results of pedagogic studies the main spheres of manifestation of professional-aesthetic taste of future cooks and confectioners are disclosed. The content of the notion “professional-aesthetic taste” with reference to future cooks and confectioners is defined. The main areas of professional-aesthetic taste - outward appearance of aesthetics, aesthetic organization of workplace, aesthetic design of confectionery, table appointments, aesthetics of interior, aesthetics of communication with consumers – are described.

    Romantyzm i fascynacja górami zapoczątkowała popularność Zakopanego, jako ośrodka turystycznego. Kultura Podhala, jego architektura i sztuka użytkowa stały się rozpoznawalnymi symbolami regionu, stanowiąc o niezwykłej skali zainteresowania Zakopanem i wpływając na jego rozwój urbanistyczny. Wizytówkowa ulica miasta, Krupówki, w przeszłości pełniąca bardziej formę modnego deptaku, po transformacji w latach 90, nabrała komercyjnego charakteru. W ciągu ulicy pojawiły się wielkoformatowe reklamy, punkty handlu z ręki do ręki, szyldy i plakaty oraz elementy małej architektury, często o niskiej wartości estetycznej i zupełnie niezwiązanych z estetyką otoczenia urbanistycznego. Po fali krytyki tego stanu rzeczy, która przetoczyła się przez media, w roku 2016 miasto wprowadziło obszar Parku Kulturowego dla Krupówek i przylegających ulic, którego głównym zadaniem jest ochrona lokalnych wartości regionalnych, a także poprawa jakości przestrzennej głównej ulicy Zakopanego. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja i analiza typowych elementów architektury regionalnej Krupówek oraz przygotowanie wytycznych dla dalszej ochrony regionalnych wartości architektonicznych. Artykuł prezentuje także rezultaty przekształceń przestrzeni ulicy zgodnie z wytycznymi opracowanymi dla Parku Kulturowego.
    Romanticism and fascination with the mountains opened Zakopane to tourism. Its culture, folk art vernacular architecture became symbols of the region, making Zakopane highly popular and impacted its urban development. The most important heritage street – Krupówki, in the past fashionable boardwalk, was until recently the victim of its own popularity – building facades covered with advertisements that disfigured the streetscape. Billboards, posters, information boards, hand-to-hand sales, unlicensed street shows, and street – displayed goods were besieging the space and were in most cases not related to the regional culture. After the critique and nationwide media discussion local authorities in July 2016 initiated Culture Park, mainly to protect regional values and to better the overall image of the street. The aim of this paper is to identify and classify typical forms of regional elements of Krupówki street to formulate and prepare guidelines for the preservation of regional heritage. The paper will also present the transitions of the streetscape caused by Culture Park.

    The  essay  titled  „Pursuing  the  Magic  of  Words  in  the  Twentieth-Century’s  Croatian  and Serbian Literature” discusses transformations of the awareness of the avant-garde and postmodernism  from  the  perspective  of  its  relation  to  magic  thinking.  The  essay  advances a vision of poetic language and the main figures of the avant-garde’s imagination, especially the aesthetic  conceptualizations  of  the  messianic  archetype.  The  avant-garde  thinking about  the world  of  unity  (of  the  world-man-language)  is  utopian  and  not  infrequently magic-esoteric. Postmodernism deconstructs symbolic language; it does not share the avant-garde’s belief in the existential and creative power of imagination and the word. The virtual culture of postmodernism reduces the value of the language sign and the referential function of language; it disenchants the conceits of the magic word.

    Opis:
    The subject of the article concerns aesthetic and artistic communication. The author assumes that many theories of social communication, as well as pragmatic theories, do not take into account language activities and discourses, the purpose of which is to evoke an aesthetic experience in the recipients. The author refutes such a view, presenting an alternative concept that aesthetic and artistic discourses meet the basic conditions of social communication: they rely on influencing through information; they are intentional; they are realized in interactions at the macro-social level within representative communication. The functionalist theory of culture by Bronisław Malinowski and the concept of aesthetic values by Ivor A. Richards will justify this approach to artistic communication. The author examines artistic discourses due to their synchronic and asynchronous character and proposes a typology of this type of discourses, illustrating particular types with examples from fiction.
    Тема статьи касается эстетической и художественной коммуникации. Автор исходит из того, что многие теории социальной коммуникации, а также прагматические теории не учитывают речевые акты и дискурсы, цель которых - вызвать у реципиентов эстетическое переживание. Автор опровергает такое мнение, представляя альтернативную концепцию, согласно которой эстетические и художественные дискурсы отвечают базовым условиям социальной коммуникации: опираются на информационное воздействие; они преднамеренные; они реализуются во взаимодействиях на макросоциальном уровне в рамках репрезентативного общения. Функционалистская теория культуры Бронислава Малиновского и концепция эстетических ценностей Айвора А. Ричардса оправдывают такой подход к художественной коммуникации. Автор рассматривает художественные дискурсы в силу их синхронного и асинхронного характера и предлагает типологию этого типа дискурсов, иллюстрируя отдельные типы примерами из художественной литературы.
    Tematyka artykułu dotyczy komunikacji estetycznej i artystycznej. Autor wychodzi z założenia, że wiele teorii komunikacji społecznej, a także teorii pragmatycznych nie uwzględnia czynności i dyskursów językowych, których celem jest wywołanie u odbiorców doświadczenia estetycznego. Autor obala taki pogląd, przedstawiając alternatywną koncepcję, że dyskursy estetyczne i artystyczne spełniają podstawowe warunki komunikacji społecznej: polegają na oddziaływaniu poprzez informację; są zamierzone; realizują się w interakcjach na poziomie makrospołecznym w ramach komunikacji reprezentatywnej. Funkcjonalistyczna teoria kultury Bronisława Malinowskiego oraz koncepcja wartości estetycznych Ivora A. Richardsa uzasadnią takie podejście do komunikacji artystycznej. Autor analizuje dyskursy artystyczne ze względu na ich synchroniczny i asynchroniczny charakter oraz proponuje typologię tego typu dyskursów, ilustrując poszczególne typy przykładami z literatury artystycznej.

    A lot of postcolonial novels feature characters with disordered communication, unable to express their will, existing outside of language. These most often unnamed traces of autism and/or intellectual disability become in fictional narrative an element disturbing the expected outcome of postcolonial vindications, out of which the most important is regaining by a marginalized character the sense of subjectivity, realized as a possibility to tell one’s own story. Basing on Ato Quayson’s concept of “aesthetic nervousness”, the article traces how literary and cultural representations of disability introduce into a text affective-cognitive mechanisms which reveal, as Ato Quayson says, “heremeneutic impasse” caused by a confrontation of the norm with disability. This blocked path of text interpretation poses the radical example of untranslatability which will not be abated or compensated by the effort to substitute lack represented by the autistic subject (lack of speech, communication, subjectivity – in general – lack of participation in the universe of interlocution, as Seyla Benhabib calls it). Hermeneutic impasse is, then, inscribed in the very narrative structure featuring an autistic character. On the basis of J. M. Coetzee’s novels, the article analyses this impasse as resistance that untranslatability poses against the attempts to understand, that is, represent, such a subject. These attempts, ethical as to their purpose, end up, however, in containment.

    Opis:
    The aim of the paper is to stress that in the crisis of verbality observed specially in mass communication there is an urgent need for changing the direction of the discussion about the aesthetic value of verbal texts which is in progress in philological community. The change proposed is that the priority should be given to intellectual value manifested by the gradual category which could be named for the purposes of presented considerations as the thoroughness of the text. The novelty lies in the fact that the thoroughness of the verbal content is viewed in the context of a possible application  to detect AI-generated text which is the real challenge posed to the 21st century communication researchers.
    Celem artykułu są jest zaakcentowanie, iż w obliczu kryzysu werbalności obserwowalnego szczególnie w komunikacji masowej pojawia się pilna potrzeba reorientacji toczącej się zarówno w środowisku językoznawców, jak i literaturoznawców dyskusji na temat estetyki komunikacji werbalnej. Proponowana zmiana polega na oddaniu pierwszeństwa jakościom intelektualnym manifestującym się m.in. poprzez gradacyjną kategorię określoną na potrzeby prezentowanych rozważań jako kategoria wnikliwości. Nowością prezentowanych rozważań jest ujęcie tej kategorii w kontekście możliwości jej aplikacji do sprostania wyzwaniu, jakie stawia badaczom komunikacji XXI wieku problem wykrywania tekstów generowanych przez sztuczną inteligencję.
    Целью статьи является подчеркнуть, что обострение кризиса вербальности, проявляющееся особенно интенсивно в масскоммуникации, вызывает срочную необходимось переориентации дискуссии, которая идет в филологической общественности на тему эстетики словесного общения. Предлагаемое изменение заключается в том, чтобы в этой дисскусии дать первенство интеллектуальным ценностям, показателем которых среди остальных экспонентов можно принять градационную категорию глубины текста. Новизна рассуждений заключается в том, что вышеупомянутая категория рассматривается в контексте возможности ее применения для идентификации текстов, написанных искусстенным интеллектом, которая представляет собой настоящий вызов для исследователей коммуникации XXI века.

    My aims are to investigate how the concept of narrative moment may be helpful in capturing the role of music in creating profound communication on the level of performing as well as listening to musical performance. I aim to show how sharing a culminating moment in a musical experience may lead to inducing a state of self awareness and confidence in place of critical separation and distrust. I discuss Lawrence Kramer’s idea of the narrative moment explained in original in reference to a literary example and an improvised music. It is presented as an example of communicative potential in music performance, which as I argue, is worth exploring and explaining further. Suggesting a possibility of narrative moment in the experience of musical performances offers a comprehensible and applicable vision of communicative potential of music that is far reaching even if rarely achieved; a possibility of communication that is direct and intuitive, flexible and affective. Defining musical meaning in terms of its music’s communicative power and far reaching social consequences suggests deep connections between the social/intersubjective, individual/subjective and aesthetic aspects of life. The proper explanation of the meaning of music requires drawing from different domains, including metaphors and highly persuasive literary and musical examples.

    How to read Hasan or the resurrection of a contingent apparition of real readersA fragment from the novel Death and the Dervish, the famous monologue by Hasan about the Bosniak identity, to which this review is dedicated, is exceptionally appropriate for an interpretative manipulation. We have approached it from two different methodological starting points. The first reading (the inner approach) attempts to shed light on the aesthetic efficiency of Hasan’s soliloquy in the context of the structure/totality of the novel. The second starting point (the outer approach) is reading the monologue as an auto-imagological, politically instrumentalized discourse. The text should also be understood as an implicit answer to the question of whether it is possible to plausibly combine these approaches despite the incompatibility of the analytical points, while considering the fact that the compatibility of the writer’s and reader’s worldview is not a necessary prerequisite for aesthetic communication. Jak czytać Hasana albo zmartwychwstanie przypadkowego widma rzeczywistych czytelnikówFragment powieści Derwisz i śmierć M. Selimovicia, słynny monolog Hasana na temat bośniackiej tożsamości, któremu poświęcono niniejszy artykuł, jest wyjątkowo podatny na manipulacje interpretacyjne. W tekście dokonano jego analizy, obierając dwa różne metodologiczne punkty wyjścia. Pierwszy typ lektury (podejście wewnętrzne) jest próbą rzucenia światła na estetyczną skuteczność soliloqium Hasana w kontekście struktury całości powieści. Drugi punkt wyjścia (podejście zewnętrzne) to odczytanie monologu jako autoimagologicznego, politycznie zinstrumentalizowanego dyskursu. Celem tekstu jest także (implicit) próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy – mimo niezgodności punktów analitycznych – możliwe jest wiarygodne połączenie tych dwóch podejść, biorąc pod uwagę fakt, że zgodność poglądów pisarza i czytelnika nie jest koniecznym warunkiem wstępnym komunikacji estetycznej.
