Opis:
To stabilise the periodic operation of a chemical reactor the oscillation period should be determined precisely in real time. The method discussed in the paper is based on adaptive sampling of the state variable with the use of chaotic mapping to itself. It enables precise determination of the oscillation period in real time and could be used for a proper control system, that can successfully control the process of chemical reaction and maintain the oscillation period at a set level. The method was applied to a tank reactor and tubular reactor with recycle.

Opis:
The study is motivated by the considerations concerning implementation of nonuniform sampling regarding the reallife objects. It is shown that nonuniform adaptive sampling switch algorithm can ensure a reduction in the number of taken samples and does not exert negative influence on the quality of the system control. Experiment was performed with 24VDC permanent magnet motor with encoder as a plant. Signals from the encoder were used for rotational speed calculations. The results of experiment are included.

Opis:
Adaptive Delta Modulation with Non-uniform Sampling (ANS-DM) is one of the waveform coding techniques, where a sampling instant and a quantization step size are adapted to the signal. The ANS-DM modulator produces an output binary stream, that carries information about the signal and includes necessary data of coder parameters (sampling instant and quantization step). In the demodulator, these values are recovered for proper signal reconstruction. The paper reports the problem of synchronizing clocks (transmitting and receiving) in the (ANS-DM) delta codecs systems. The original synchronization method, valuable in systems dedicated to the transmission of the bits with variable time duration was projected and experimentally verified. Performed measurements and observations have shown the elimination of the synchronization loss phenomenon.

Opis:
This paper proposes a deep neural network (DNN) based method for the purpose of power-ground plane impedance modeling. A composite DNN model, which is a combination of two DNNs is used to predict the Z-parameters of power ground planes from their design parameters. The first DNN predicts the normalized Z-parameters whereas the second DNN predicts the original maximum and minimum values of the nonnormalized Z-parameters. This allows the method to retain a high accuracy when predicting responses that have large variations across designs, as is the case with the Z-parameters of the power-ground planes. We use the adaptive sampling algorithm to generate the training and validation samples for the DNNs. The adaptive sampling algorithm starts with only a few samples, then slowly generates more samples in the non-linear regions within the design parameters space. The level of non-linearity of the regions is determined by a surrogate model which is also trained using the generated samples as well. If the surrogate model has poor prediction accuracy in a region, then the adaptive sampling algorithm will generate more samples in that region. A shallow neural network is used as the surrogate model for non-linearity determination of the regions since it is faster to train and update. Once all the samples have been generated, they will be used to train and validate the composite DNN models. Finally, we present two examples, a square-shaped power ground plane and a squareshaped power ground plane with a hollow square at the center to demonstrate the robustness of the DNN composite models.

Opis:
In many sampling surveys, the use of auxiliary information at either the design or estimation stage, or at both these stages is usual practice. Auxiliary information is commonly used to obtain improved designs and to achieve a high level of precision in the estimation of population density. Adaptive cluster sampling (ACS) was proposed to observe rare units with the purpose of obtaining highly precise estimations of rare and specially clustered populations in terms of least variances of the estimators. This sampling design proved to be more precise than its more conventional counterparts, including simple random sampling (SRS), stratified sampling, etc. In this paper, a generalised estimator is anticipated for a finite population variance with the use of information of an auxiliary variable under stratified adaptive cluster sampling (SACS). The bias and mean square error expressions of the recommended estimators are derived up to the first degree of approximation. A simulation study showed that the proposed estimators have the least estimated mean square error under the SACS technique in comparison to variance estimators in stratified sampling.
