actor’s interpretation of a poem - Opis:
- This paper discusses the sound-imitating qualities of Julian Tuwim’s Lokomotywa (Locomotive), one of the most famous Polish poems for children. The focus, however, is not so much on the instrumentational potential of the text (which was described multiple times before) as on its use in the acting interpretation by Piotr Fronczewski. Selected prosodic features, such as in particular: speech rate, rhythm, pitch, and – to a lesser extent – sound intensity, are examined from the perspective of the iconic functions of language, i.e. as a way of reflecting the content and emotional feeling of the text. The research was conducted using the Praat program, which includes tools for acoustic analysis of sound.
