Opis:
The present work focuses on the study and analysis of vibrations generated by the electrical motor of a wiper system on its support bracket referring to an hatchback vehicle passenger car. In the electric motor of the wiper system there can be present an imbalance transmitting vibrations to the main body via the support bracket. In this paper, after a short resume of available synchronized switch shunt damping methods, a preliminary experimental evaluation of their potential performance on noise control of the wiper system is reported. After preliminary experimental measurements of dynamic vibration by the use of vibrometer laser both on the real hatchback car then in laboratory environment, a numerical model has been created to evaluate deformations of the support bracket for comparison with the experimental data. This work realizes the preliminary numerical/experimental characterization activity to set up a new application of a control system based on a semi-active technique, called Synchronized Switch Shunt Resonator (SSSR).

Opis:
With continuous miniaturization of modern electronic components, the need of better cooling devices also keeps on increasing. The improper thermal management of these devices not only hampers the efficiency but can also cause permanent damage. Among various techniques, microchannel heat sink has shown most favourable performance. To further enhance the performance, two techniques i.e., active and passive are used. In passive technique, no external power source is required like heat sink design alteration and working fluid modification. External power source is necessary for heat transfer augmentation in the microchannel heat sink when using the active approach. Due to compact size of microchannel, active techniques are not used more often. However, the present work highlights the different active technique used in microchannel i.e., Electrostatic forces, flow pulsation, magnetic field, acoustic effects, and vibration active techniques. Above mentioned techniques have been analysed in detail.

Opis:
This paper proposes an active noise control (ANC) application to attenuate siren noise for the patient lying inside ambulance with no sound proofing. From the point of cost effectiveness, a local ANC system based on feedforward scheme is considered. Further, to handle the limitation of limited Zone of Silence (ZoS), the ANC based on virtual sensing is explored. The simulations are done in MATLAB for the recorded ambulance siren noise signal. The results indicate that ANC can be an effective solution for creating a silent environment for the patient.
