    Opis:
    Intraspecific variability of the herein emended diacrodian acritarch Lusatia dendroidea is described based on late Cambrian (Furongian) well preserved material from Spain, the High Arctic of Russia, and the East−European Platform. L. dendroidea, displays bipolar asymmetric morphology and, as originally defined, consists of three long major processes originating from the “corners” of its vesicle. Specimens with one, two and four major processes are considered to represent morphological variations of the most common three process form. Based on its narrow stratigraphic range, widespread palaeogeographic distribution, and distinctive morphology, L. dendroidea is an excellent guide fossil for the Furongian.

    W artykule przedstawiono charakterystykę najstarszych zespołow mikroskamieniałości organicznych, udokumentowanych w dwóch nowych otworach wiertniczych (Trojanowice 2 i Cianowice 2) zlokalizowanych po przeciwnych stronach strefy uskokowej Krakow–Lubliniec oddzielającej blok gornośląski i małopolski. Wiercenia te są oddalone od siebie o około 6 km. Przeprowadzone badania palinologiczne pozwoliły na oznaczenie wieku utworów klastycznych nawierconych pod utworami dewonu dolnego w otworze wiertniczym Trojanowice 2 i pod utworami jury dolnej w otworze Cianowice 2. Najstarsze asocjacje mikroskamieniałości organicznych, korelowane z poźnoediakarskimi utworami fliszowymi bloku małopolskiego, udokumentowano w ponad 330-metrowym odcinku profilu Cianowice 2. W najniższej, 44,5-metrowej części profilu Trojanowice 2 występują zespoły mikroskamieniałości organicznych podobne do opisanych z utworów najstarszego kambru, reprezentujących formację z Borzęty, w krawędziowej wschodniej cześci bloku górnośląskiego. W skład udokumentowanych asocjacji mikroskamieniałości organicznych wchodzą najstarsi przedstawiciele świata bakterii, glonów, grzybów, a także zwierząt.
    The paper presents the characteristics of the oldest groups of organic microfossils found in two new boreholes (Trojanowice 2 and Cianowice 2) located on the opposite sides of the Krakow–Lubliniec fault zone separating the Upper Silesian and Małopolska blocks. Detailed palynological research allowed determining the age of clastic sediments drilled under the Jurassic and Devonian. Two characteristic microfossil assemblages have been documented: the Late Ediacaran assemblage dating the age of the Małopolska Block basement, and the Terreneuvian assemblage, known from the oldest Cambrian sediments of the Upper Silesian Block. The se associations of organic microfossils include the oldest representatives of bacteria, algae, fungi and animals.

    Artykuł stanowi przegląd przeprowadzonych dotychczas badań palinologicznych utworów kambru bloku górnośląskiego, rozpoznanych otworami wiertniczymi w regionie krakowskim, którego zasięg terytorialny został zdefiniowany w ramach projektu badawczego MNiSW NN 525 051033 „Prekambr i paleozoik regionu krakowskiego – model budowy geologicznej – jego aspekt utylitarny”. Na obszarze tym, w 13 wierceniach udokumentowano zróżnicowane zespoły mikroskamieniałości charakterystyczne dla utworów dolnokambryjskich formacji z Borzety i formacji z Goczałkowic wyróżnionych na bloku górnośląskim. Najstarsze dolnokambryjskie zespoły mikroskamieniałości, typowe dla formacji z Borzety, wystepują w analizowanym obszarze w 10 profilach wiertniczych. Charakteryzują się one stosunkowo słabym zróżnicowaniem morfologicznym. Dużą różnorodnoocią form oraz wyraźną zmiennością odznaczają się natomiast zespoły mikroskamieniałości w formacji z Goczałkowic, co pozwala na wyznaczenie zespołów typowych dla wyróżnianych w jej profilu ogniw – piaskowców bioturbacyjnych z Głogoczowa i mułowców z trylobitami z Pszczyny, w trzech otworach wiertniczych. Asocjacje mikroflory udokumentowane w osadach ogniwa piaskowców bioturbacyjnych z Głogoczowa charakteryzują sie dominacją delikatnie urzeźbionych akritach, z nowym przewodnim dla tego ogniwa rodzajem Ichnosphaera. Zespoły akritach ogniwa mułowców z trylobitami z Pszczyny odznaczają sie pojawieniem taksonów o zróżnicowanej morfologii i dominacją dolnokambryjskiego rodzaju Skiagia.
    The paper reviews the palynological studies carried out to date on Cambrian deposits of the Upper Silesian Block explored by boreholes drilled in the Kraków region. Differentiated assemblages of organic microfossils characteristic of the lower Cambrian deposits of the Borzęta and Goczałkowice formations from the Upper Silesian Block were documented in 13 boreholes. The oldest Lower Cambrian microfossil assemblages, which are typical of the Borzęta Formation, occur in the Kraków region in 10 boreholes, but their morphological differentiation is rather poor. On the other hand, the assemblages from the Goczałkowice Formation are characterized by a significant diver-sity and variability of forms. Thus, in three boreholes, it helped to find assemblages which were typical of particular members distinguished in the formation, namely: the Głogoczów Bioturbated Sandstones Member and the Pszczyna Siltstones with Trilobites Member. Microflora associations, documented in the Głogoczów Bioturbated Sandstones Member, are characterized by finely ornamented acritarchs with Ichnosphaera – a new index genus. The acritarcha assemblages of the Pszczyna Siltstones with Trilobites Member are characterized by the presence of morphologically differentiated specimens and predominance of the Lower Cambrian Skiagia species.

    Integrated sedimentological and palaeontological study of borehole cores through plat orm siliciclastic deposits of the southernmost part of Brunovistulicum (S Moravia) shows convincing evidence for the Cambrian age of a considerable portion organic-walled microfossils of Late Proterozoic (Ediacaran) age have been found in a sample from the Menín-1 borehole. Thirty genera characteristic of the Ediacaran have been recognized. Part, though, of the siliciclastic succession of S Brunovistulicum is Devonian in age. The platform deposits studied are consid red to have the same source area but the degree of maturity of the Devonian clastics rocks is generally higher than that of the older strata. Facies analysis indicates a predominance of deltaic settings (braided and fan del tas); similar sedimentary environments are suggested for both the Ediacaran/Cambrian and Devonian successions.

    Three lower Cambrian acritarch assemblages recognized in four outcrops in the vicinity of Kotuszów in the southernmost part of the Palaeozoic inlier of the Holy Cross Mountains span a stratigraphic interval from the uppermost part of the Asteridium tornatum–Comasphaeridium velvetum Assemblage Zone to the Skiagia ornata–Fimbriaglomerella membranacea Assemblage Zone (most probably its lower part). According to current views (Moczydłowska and Yin 2012), this interval corresponds to the upper part of the Fortunian and to Stage 2 of the Terreneuvian Series. The strata yielding the oldest assemblage are thus the oldest precisely documented rocks in the Palaeozoic succession of the Holy Cross Mountains, and the oldest Cambrian rocks exposed on the surface in Poland. The current biostratigraphic scheme for the pre-trilobitic part of the Cambrian System in the Holy Cross Mountains should be modified so that it is based on local acritarch interval subzones.

    Rock samples from four boreholes and three exposures located in the southern peripheries of the Holy Cross Mountains in Poland, from strata representing the lower Cambrian Czarna Shale Formation have been studied palynologically. A relatively numerous and well-preserved lowermost Cambrian microfloral assemblage corresponds to coeval associations known from different palaeocontinents. Our new data enables reinterpretation of the biostratigraphy of the Czarna Formation, a thick rock unit basically devoid of macrofossils. The rocks analysed represent the Terreneuvian and comparison with other lower Cambrian successions indicates the middle and upper part of this oldest Cambrian series. The discovery of Variosphaeridium gen. nov. supplements information about the diversity of lowermost Cambrian microfloral assemblages. The Fimbriaglomerella membranacea–Globosphaeridium cerinum Assemblage Zone is introduced; it has a transitional character between the Asteridium tornatum–Comasphaeridium velvetum and Skiagia ornata–Fimbriaglomerella membranacea assemblage zones distinguished by Moczydłowska (1991) and identified on most Cambrian palaeocontinents.
