Podstawowe zasady wykonywania obliczeń są podane w Przewodniku GUM. Jednakże wątpliwości, jak zwykle bywa, pojawiają się wówczas, gdy przechodzimy do szczegółów. Przedstawiono kilka przykładów budżetu niepewności, określonej dla wyników badań izolacyjności akustycznej przeprowadzonych według norm z serii EN ISO 140, a ponadto omówiono problemy związane z wyznaczaniem niepewności jednoliczbowych wskaźników oceny stosowanych w akustyce budowlanej.
The standard PN-EN ISO/lEG 17025:2005 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories introduces the necessity of evaluation of measurement uncertainties for making them reliable and comparable. The general principles of calculations are presented in the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM). However, as usually, the questions appear when we go into details. The author presents several examples of uncertainty budget, evaluated for the measurement results of the sound insulation (carried out according to the series of standards EN ISO 140]. The problems referred to the uncertainty of single-number indicies used in building acoustics are also presented.

The article describes the tests of prestressed concrete sleepers made according to the method specified in the requirements of the European standards (EN 13230-2:2009 Railway applications – Track – Concrete sleepers and bearers – Part 2: Prestressed monoblock sleepers) and WTWiO regulations, and an additional measurement method was used – acoustic emission (AE). The purpose of the tests using the acoustic emission method was to verify the results obtained using other test methods described in the European standard. The use of this method in sleeper tests enables obtaining precise data from the sleeper load test and determination of the characteristic parameters based on the recorded AE signals. Due to the variety of existing sleepers and the development of products in this area: wooden sleepers, composite sleepers, steel sleepers (type Y), the use of the acoustic emission method in research will be a good support and will enable proper assessment of these elements of the railway road.

Opis:
Q235 steel is widely used in engineering and construction. Therefore, it is important to identify the damage mechanism and the acoustic emission (AE) response of the material to ensure the safety of structures. In this study, an AE monitor system and an in situ tensile test with an optical microscope were used to investigate the AE response and insight into the damage process of Q235 steel. The surface of the specimen was polished and etched before the test in order to improve the quality of micrographs. Two kinds of AE responses, namely a burst and a continuous signal, were recorded by the AE monitor system during the test. Based on the in situ test, it was observed that the damage of Q235 steel was induced by the crystal slip and the inclusion fracture. Since the crystal slip was an ongoing process, continuous AE signals were produced, while burst AE signals were possibly produced by the inclusion fracture which occurred suddenly with released higher energy. In addition, a great number of AE signals with high amplitude were observed during the yielding stage and then the number and amplitude decreased.

The present paper shows particularly description of the construction of the test stand for experimental research performed in University of Applied Science Giessen and connected with the measurements of hydrodynamic friction forces in journal slide bearings by using the Acoustic Emission Method. The test stand is adapted for the friction force measurements for the low bearing load and for the high bearing load. For such test stand in the case of low and high loads the dependencies between friction forces and time can be exactly obtained. During the measurements the temperature changes are expected. The advantage of this method is the fact that oscillations of measured friction values can be executed directly from the source to the sensor, what enables us to do an "online-measurement". The Acoustic Emission Analysis is (in opposite to the aforementioned Friction Power measurement) a relative method, which means, that the absolute amount of a RMS-Value depends on the measuring chain.

Listening tests have been carried out to quantify the significance of binaural auralization over monaural auralization in accordance with the acoustic properties of the enclosure. To this end, acoustic rendering of three different rooms were generated based on synthesized monaural (two channels with the same audio material) and binaural room impulse responses. The auralizations were evaluated by means of subjective tests using headphones with non-individualized equalization. Parameters, such as localization, spatial impression and realism, were taken into consideration to determine the relevance of providing binaural information for the auralization of a given room. The analysis of the data has been conducted following a statistical approach based on ANOVA and Pearson correlation. The results indicate that spatial perception is strongly dependent on the acoustic characteristics of the rooms and on the listening condition of the audio material. Furthermore, as expected, advantages of binaural rendering in terms of source localization was also confirmed.

An acoustic holography and its practical applications in engineering began to develop at the end of the 20th century. Currently, this technique is being commonly used to locate sound sources. This paper presents the use of an acoustic camera to locate sound sources during the Full Scale Fatigue Test of the MiG-29 stabilizer. During fatigue tests, the tested structure issues a series of sounds in the form of glitches, creaks or beats. These sounds are typical for a structure subjected to dynamic loading, but they can also be a source of diagnostic information about places of fatigue failures. The paper presents the results of measurements made during the fatigue test. Thanks to the analysis of the measurement results, it was possible to identify areas that are the basic source of sounds.

The present paper describes the results of measurements performed in University of Applied Science Giessen and determined hydrodynamic friction forces in journal slide bearings by using the Acoustic Emission Method. It describes the use of the Acoustic Emission Analysis as an indicator of the bearing friction at slide bearings. The investigations were made at two different test stands. The test stand at Maritime University Gdynia covers the hydrodynamic operation range, the test stand at University of Applied Science Giessen the mixed friction area. The successive steps of measurements of the hydrodynamic friction forces are presented in this paper. Hardness and roughness of cooperating surfaces is in this paper particularly described. The friction values and its boundary conditions at the test were measured for the low bearing load and for the high bearing load. In both cases, the dependencies between friction forces and time are exactly obtained. During the measurements, the temperature is taken into account. The present paper determines the results of experimental research performed in Gdynia Maritime University and connected with the measurements of hydrodynamic friction forces in slide journal slide bearings by using the Acoustic Emission Method. A new method for mechanical friction force measuring was carried out at this test stand, simultaneously the friction force will be indicated by an optimized Acoustic Emission System. The friction conditions at the test were measured by two different methods. At the one hand the friction power measurement and at the other hand the Acoustic Emission Analysis. One characteristic of the friction power measurement is the rather inert reaction to the oscillations of the slide bearing. The advantage of the method is the fact that one can measure absolute values of the friction power. In opposite to that, the Acoustic Emission Analysis measures the high frequency oscillations caused by the hydrodynamic friction between the oil molecules. The advantage of this method is the fact that this oscillations can be executed directly from the source to the sensor, what enables us to do an "online-measurement". The Acoustic Emission Analysis is (in opposite to the aforementioned friction power measurement) a relative method, which means, that the absolute amount of a RMS-Value depends on the measuring chain. Opis:
The microphone data collected in aeroacoustic wind tunnel test contains not only desired aeroacoustic signal but also background noise generated by the jet or the valve of the wind tunnel, so the desired aeroacoustic characteristics is difficult to be highlighted due to the low Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). Classical cross spectral matrix removal can only reduce the microphone self-noise, but its effect is limited for jet noise. Therefore, an Airflow Background Noise Suppression method based on the Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (ABNSEEMD) is proposed to eliminate the influence of background noise on aeroacoustic field reconstruction. The new method uses EEMD to adaptively separate the background noise in microphone data, which has good practicability for increasing SNR of aeroacoustic signal. A localization experiment was conducted by using two loudspeakers in wind tunnel with 80 m/s velocity. Results show that proposed method can filter out the background noise more effectively and improve the SNR of the loudspeakers signal compared with spectral subtraction and cepstrum methods. Moreover, the aeroacoustic field produced by a NACA EPPLER 862 STRUT airfoil model was also measured and reconstructed. Delay-and-sum beamforming maps of aeroacoustic source were displayed after the background noise was suppressed, which further demonstrates the proposed method’s advantage.

The goal of this article is to present and compare recent approaches which use speech and voice analysis as biomarkers for screening tests and monitoring of some diseases. The article takes into account metabolic, respiratory, cardiovascular, endocrine, and nervous system disorders. A selection of articles was performed to identify studies that assess voice features quantitatively in selected disorders by acoustic and linguistic voice analysis. Information was extracted from each paper in order to compare various aspects of datasets, speech parameters, methods of applied analysis and obtained results. 110 research papers were reviewed and 47 databases were summarized. Speech analysis is a promising method for early diagnosis of certain disorders. Advanced computer voice analysis with machine learning algorithms combined with the widespread availability of smartphones allows diagnostic analysis to be conducted during the patient’s visit to the doctor or at the patient’s home during a telephone conversation. Speech analysis is a simple, low-cost, non-invasive and easy-toprovide method of medical diagnosis. These are remarkable advantages, but there are also disadvantages. The effectiveness of disease diagnoses varies from 65% up to 99%. For that reason it should be treated as a medical screening test and should be an indication of the need for classic medical tests.

In this paper the influence of high power airborne ultrasound on drying biological material (Lobo apple) properties is considered. Apple samples were dried convectively at 75 ◦C and air flow of 2 m/s with and without ultrasound assist at 200W. During experiments, sun-drenched and not sun-drenched part of fruits were considered separately to show, how the maturity of the product influences dry material properties. Dried apple crisps in a size of small bars were subjected to compression tests during which acoustic emission (AE) was used. Analysis of AE and strength test results shows that correlations between received acoustic signals and sensory attributes (crispness, brittleness) of dried apples can be found. It was noted that ultrasound improved fruit brittleness in comparison with pure convective processes, where fruit maturity determines a kind of destruction and behaviour of dried apple crisps.
