Opis:
The implemented online urban noise pollution monitoring system is presented with regard to its conceptual assumptions and technical realization. A concept of the noise source parameters dynamic assessment is introduced. The idea of noise modeling, based on noise emission characteristics and emission simulations, was developed and practically utilized in the system. Furthermore, the working system architecture and the data acquisition scheme are described. The method for increasing the speed of noise map calculation employing a supercomputer is explained. The practical implementation of noise maps generation and visualization system is presented, together with introduced improvements in the domain of continuous noise monitoring and acoustic maps creation. Some results of tests performed using the system prototype are shown. The main focus is put on assessing the efficiency of the acoustic maps created with the discussed system, in comparison to results obtained with traditional methods.

Opis:
The paper presents the analysis of sound field emitted by selected CNC machine tools. The identification of noise sources and level was measured by acoustic holography for the 3-axis DMC 635eco machine tool and the 5-axis vertical machining centre DMU 65 monoBlock. The acoustic holography method allows precise identification and measurement of noise sources at different bandwidths of frequency. Detection of noise sources in tested objects allows diagnosis of their technical condition, as well as choice of effective means of noise reduction, which is highly significant from the perspective of minimising noise at the CNC machine operator workstation. Test results were presented as acoustic maps in various frequency ranges. Noise sources of the machine tool itself were identified, as well as the range of noise influence and the most frequent places of reflections and their span. The results of measurements were presented in figures and diagrams.

Opis:
The civilisation progress has caused noise to become one of essential pathogenic and life comfort decreasing factors. There are several legal regulations aimed at controlling the noise influence on humans. Assessment of the twenty-four-hour influence of noises in various environments constitutes an essential problem. The answer can be supplied by 24-hour monitoring of the sound pressure. This paper is an attempt to learn the real loading of humans by noises. A personal noise indicator was used in measurements. The human 24-hour activity was divided into cycles allowing to model noise hazards. The collected data, even though they did not signal exceeding of individual standards, in the 24-hour period indicated the essential noise influence. These results indicate the need of investigations to recognise the 24-hour noise load of a human, with taking into account various forms of their activity and the need of rest.

Opis:
W artykule przedstawiono analizę pomiarów sygnałów akustycznych generowanych podczas testu pass-by wybranego typu lekkich pojazdów szynowych w warunkach normalnej eksploatacji. Pomiary hałasu wykonano zgodnie z wymaganiami normy ISO 3095. Celem analizy było sprawdzenie, w jakim stopniu uwzględnianie czasu przed i po przejeździe pojazdu przez punkt pomiarowy, ma wpływ na obliczanie ekspozycyjnego poziomu dźwięku A.
The article presents the results of analysis carried out for automatization of analytical procedures for tram noise monitoring. The primary analytical procedures were developed based on the ISO 3095:2005 standard. However, it was decided to develop own research methodology. Due to, that fulfillment of all the requirements in strict urban area is impossible. The analysis of sensitivity symptom to different averaging data condition changes is presented in the comparative study. Also the possibility of its application in the vibroacoustic monitoring system of trams is proposed. There are the two main aims of the study. Firstly, checking the extent to which, the time before and after the passage of the vehicle through the measurement point, has an impact on the calculation of the exposure sound level A (SEL), on selected tram. Secondly, ensure if obtained characteristics can be considered as own, assigned to the type of vehicle. The study presents a part of research carried out in the Department of Rail Vehicles of University of Technology in Poznan, in terms of comprehensive description of the interaction of light rail vehicle – track in a highly urbanized environment. In this range, the crucial becomes an analysis of vibroacoustic activity of the tram, which is presented here.

Opis:
The function of a new estimation procedure of long-term noise indicators is considered in this study. New possibilities are related to the stochastic modelling of the control data formation mechanism. Assuming the mathematical formalism based on the adaptive model of exponential smoothing of control data, the need of controlling at each estimation stage of long-term noise indicators, the adherence to the model assumptions is formulated. The procedure of its realisation is described in the paper. The tracking signal method referred to the tested errors of the assumed model was applied. The ratio of the sum of model errors in relation to the average absolute error, generated by the assumed approximation, was selected as the representative of the tracking signal. Conditions for the acceptation of the model assumption were defined. The analysis of functionality of the developed solution was illustrated by the results of a continuous noise monitoring recorded at one of the main arteries in Kraków.

Opis:
This work is focused on the automatic recognition of environmental noise sources that affect humans’ health and quality of life, namely industrial, aircraft, railway and road traffic. However, the recognition of the latter, which have the largest influence on citizens’ daily lives, is still an open issue. Therefore, although considering all the aforementioned noise sources, this paper especially focuses on improving the recognition of road noise events by taking advantage of the perceived noise differences along the road vehicle pass-by (which may be divided into different phases: approaching, passing and receding). To that effect, a hierarchical classification scheme that considers these phases independently has been implemented. The proposed classification scheme yields an averaged classification accuracy of 92.5%, which is, in absolute terms, 3% higher than the baseline (a traditional flat classification scheme without hierarchical structure). In particular, it outperforms the baseline in the classification of light and heavy vehicles, yielding a classification accuracy 7% and 4% higher, respectively. Finally, listening tests are performed to compare the system performance with human recognition ability. The results reveal that, although an expert human listener can achieve higher recognition accuracy than the proposed system, the latter outperforms the non-trained listener in 10% in average.
