Opis:
Równoważny poziom dźwięku A (LAeq,Tp) zawierał się w przedziale 69,8-96,3 dB, maksymalny poziom dźwięku A (LAmax) w przedziale 81,4-106,8 dB, a szczytowy poziom dźwięku C w przedziale 98-116,7 dB. Przeprowadzona ocena zagrożenia hałasem pracowników dowodzi, że długotrwałe przebywanie w pobliżu pracującego skanera może powodować przekroczenie wartości dopuszczalnego narażenia i prowadzić do uszkodzenia słuchu.
In this paper, the results of examination of acoustic noise, generated by 1,5 T magnetic resonance scanners, are reported. The measurement results showed the wide range of sound pressure level values, depending on the type of examination. The A-weighted equivalent sound level (LAeq,Tp) was in the range of 69,8-96,3 dB, the maximum A-weighted sound level (LAmax) maintained within the range of 81,4-106,8 dB, and the peak C-weighted sound level was in the range of 98-116,7 dB. The assessment of the occupational hazard, resulting from the exposure to the noise revealed that the prolonged contact with an active scanner may result in overcome of the maximum allowable level of exposure to acoustic noise and thus, it may cause the hearing damage.

Bearing shields may have a significant impact on the level of noise generated by induction motors [1, 2]. Additionally, when the electric motor is powered from a voltage inverter, the noise level is often higher than that for AC sinusoidal supply. The paper discusses the vibration test procedure for asynchronous motor end shields powered from a voltage inverter under no load condition. Analysis of the operating deflection shape of vibrations determined by the RORO method (Section 2) is presented. There were identified the major components of the magnetic stress caused by higher harmonics of the supply current, reluctance forces and components resulting from a given type of modulation (1-4). Identification was carried out according to [3, 4]. Indicated the vibration transmissibility of the frame motor on a end shield motor. There were derived dependences allowing determining the size of the resulting acoustic quantity from the measured velocity waveforms (5-8). An example of the calculation result of the sound intensity distribution on the surface parallel to the operating deflection shapes a m = 0 and n = 1 (Fig. 4) using the model ADMotorNoise created in MATLAB [2] is given. There are shown the main links with acoustic power, operating deflection shapes, vibration velocity of end shields and frequency.

Opis:
With the growing presence of robots in human populated environments, it becomes necessary to render their presence natural, rather than invasive. To do that, robots need to make sure the acoustic noise induced by their motion does not disturb people nearby. In this line, this paper proposes a method that allows the robot to learn how to control the amount of noise it produces, taking into account the environmental context and the robot’s mechanical characteristics. Concretely, the robot adapts its motion to a speed that allows it to produce less noise than the environment’s background noise and, hence, avoiding to disturb nearby humans. For that, before executing any given task in the environment, the robot learns how much acoustic noise it produces at different speeds in that environment by gathering acoustic informatinon through a microphone. The proposed method was successfully validated on various environments with various background noises. In addition, a PIR sensor was installed on the robot in order to test the robot’s ability to trigger the noise-aware speed control procedure when a person enters the sensor’s field of view. The use of a such a simple sensor aims at demonstrating the ability of the proposed system to be deployed in minimalistic robots, such as micro unmanned aerial vehicles.

The acoustic noise radiated from low-power electric motors is excited mainly by vibrations of frame and bearing shields surface. The research procedures for motor acoustic directional characteristic, vibration and acoustic modal analysis of bearing shield, and analysis of operating deflection shapes are presented. The method for identifying dominant frequency components of low-power motor structure vibrations has been proposed. The classification principle of vibration deflection shapes for bearing shield has been defined. For acquiring mode shapes and sound pressure distribution from the bearing shield the frequency vibration response function and the frequency acoustic response function analysis has been applied. The analysis results allowed to conclude that free vibration shapes and operating deflection shapes of bearing shield have been predominating by low radial and circumferential mode number. Spatial relations between the modal shapes of shield and the sound pressure distributions (Fig. 8), and also between operating deflection shapes of bearing shield and motor frame (Fig. 9) are illustrating. The test results allowed to conclude that dominant components of free vibrations of shield and shield vibrations under idle running of motor have been characterizing with different frequencies and significantly different with mode number.

The aim of the study was to learn the total (coming from all emitters) of the spatial distribution of noise on a fragment of the area belonging to the Morasko Campus in Poznań. The research consisted of direct measurements of the equivalent sound level (LAeq) in the field in designated positions and mapping the phenomenon. The formal requirements regarding the method of measuring noise in the external environment as well as its visualization have been observed in the work. The effect of the observations carried out was the development of a noise immission plan for the selected area illustrating the noise from all sources occurring in this area. They compared it with the road noise map developed in 2017 at the request of the City of Poznan. The measurement data was referred to the noise limit values in force in areas with teaching functions. The research used data sources from Topographic Objects Database (BDOT10k) and graphic studies made available through the Spatial Information System in Poznań.

Minimisation of noise at a workstation is among fundamental tasks for maintaining safety at work, both in terms of health (the auditory system in particular) as well as work comfort. Thus, it is very important to systematically monitor noise levels by carrying out reliable measurements at a workstation. The method of performing noise measurements at workstations of specific machines is normalised so the results of such measurements for different machines is comparable. This paper presents noise measurements for DMC 635 numerically controlled milling machine, performed in accordance with PN ISO 230-5:2002 norm. The results showed that the level of noise at the operator’s workstation significantly exceeds the norm at certain machining parameters. The results of tests are concluded as detailed recommendation for the CNC machine tool operator to use hearing protection when at work.

The results of long-term continuous noise measurements in two selected schools are presented in the paper. Noise characteristics were measured continuously there for approximately 16 months. Measurements started eight months prior to the acoustic treatment of the school corridors of both schools. An evaluation of the acoustic climates in both schools, before and after the acoustic treatment, was performed based on comparison of these two periods of continuous measurements. The autonomous noise monitoring stations, engineered at the Multimedia Systems Department of the Gdansk University of Technology were used for this purpose. Investigations of measured noise, especially its influence on hearing sense, assessed on ground of spectral analyses in critical bands, is discussed. Effects of occupational noise exposure, including the Temporary Threshold Shift simulation, are determined. The correlation of the above said measurement results with respective instantaneous noise levels is discussed, and concluding remarks are presented. Some additional indicators such as air pollution or video analysis aiming at the analysis of corridor occupancy are also measured. It should be remembered that excessive noise, or air pollution may be evidence of a dangerous event and may pose health risks.

A global index of machines was developed to assess noise emitted by machines and to predict noise levels at workstations. The global index is a function of several partial indices: sound power index, index of distance between the workstation and the machine, radiation directivity index, impulse and impact noise index and noise spectrum index. Tests were carried out to determine values of the global index for engine-generator; the inversion method for determining sound power level was used. It required modelling each tested generator with one omnidirectional substitute source. The partial indices and the global index were simulated, too. The results of the tests confirmed the correctness of the simulations.

The paper presents results of three socio-acoustic surveys conducted in an interval of twelve years, between 2001 and 2013, in a large Romanian city, Cluj-Napoca. The purpose of the surveys was to assess the awareness of residents on urban noise and the extent to which the noise environment affects their everyday life, behavior and health. The surveys were conducted in 2001, 2009 and 2013. The questionnaire used in the first survey had 16 questions and it was verified prior to study through a pilot survey, being corrected and improved. For the second and the third study, the questionnaire was enriched with eight more questions, regarding essentially the description of the residential area, criteria for its selection and also awareness about the noise map of the city. The analysis of responses defines the main characteristics of the local pattern of annoyance and reaction of the urban population to the environmental noise.

Urban noise is a main component in the deterioration of life quality for people in urban areas. This problem mainly affects those who periodically travel through high traffic areas. The first step in reducing environmental noise is to characterize the urban setting with acoustic metrology for its diagnosis and control. This document exposes the design, construction and characterization of a wireless urban noise measurement module. The device works as a low-cost node with the capacity to be replicated for the deployment of a network of wireless acoustic sensors that allows the elaboration of dynamic urban noise maps. Each module consists of an electrical autonomy system, a single board computer and a MEMS microphone. The project also includes the design of a web portal to display measurement results in real time. The low-cost system was calibrated and compared with a class 1 sound level meter used to measure urban noise in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA). Global differences of less than 1 dB were obtained. Urban noise was measured near the National University of Tres de Febrero following guidelines of ISO 1996-2 standard. The performance obtained in the evaluation instance and the results of the comparison were satisfactory.
