In this paper the purposes of machine tool accuracy measurements are described. The main kinds of accuracy tests and methods are characterised, and a new method for 3D accuracy measurement is shown. Advantages and disadvantages, possibilities and limitations of different methods (used in industry and developed in laboratories) are presented.
W artykule opisano rolę i potrzebę badania dokładności maszyn NC. Dokonano przeglądu istniejących metod i urządzeń do sprawdzania dokładności maszyn o przynajmniej trzech osiach sterowanych numerycznie (3 osie liniowe). Przedstawiono opracowane w ramach badań projekty urządzeń pomiarowych oraz oryginalne rozwiązanie, nazwane Vector Bar. Omówiono budowę zaprojektowanego urządzenia oraz jego podstawowe cechy.

The subject of the article is an attempt to determine the impact of the applied measurement strategy on the accuracy of the measurement result. This problem is particularly crucial when measuring large objects. In these cases, it is not always possible to provide ideal conditions for the submission of particular scans. It is necessary to adjust the strategy to specific imposed conditions defined by the geometry of the object and to the time frame of the measurement itself. With regard to the above, an attempt was made to carry out a series of accuracy studies testing the structural light scanner while measuring elements of overall dimensions greater than the measuring capacity of the scanner. At the same time, various potential measuring strategies were simulated in practical applications. Our studies were conducted using a pre-designed test template with a defined distribution pattern of reference points and geometrical elements. Moreover, in order to make an in-depth investigation of the issue, some trials were undertaken with the use of limiting parameters. That means the scanner had both an excess and shortage of information required for a correct assembly of scans. Those scopes were taken into consideration in the study in order to use the acquired knowledge in practical measuring applications. Furthermore, conclusions from the conducted studies indicate peaks and troughs of respective measuring strategies with special care for determining relationships among the used strategies and the measuring accuracy parameters.

Opis:
Forecasting future values of economic variables are some of the most critical tasks of a country. Especially the values related to foreign trade are to be forecasted efficiently as the need for planning is great in this sector. The main objective of this research paper is to select an appropriate model for time series forecasting of total import (in taka crore) of Bangladesh. The decision throughout this study is mainly concerned with seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average (SARIMA) model, Holt-Winters’ trend and seasonal model with seasonality modeled additively and vector autoregressive model with some other relevant variables. An attempt was made to derive a unique and suitable forecasting model of total import of Bangladesh that will help us to find forecasts with minimum forecasting error.

W artykule przedstawiono wynik eksperymentu, który stanowi kontynuację pracy dotyczącej wykorzystania technik przetwarzania i analizy obrazów do wyznaczania kształtu membrany wiotkiej pozaustrojowej, pneumatycznej pompy wspomagania serca (VAD). Badanie polegało na opracowaniu techniki pomiaru dokładności odwzorowania kształtu membrany opisywanej w wymiarach rzeczywistych. Dokładność odwzorowania jest istotna z uwagi na zapewnienie wymaganej precyzji wyznaczania chwilowej objętości wyrzutowej VAD. Eksperyment przeprowadzono na modelach membrany wypukłej, wklęsłej oraz płaskiej. Celem badania było opracowanie funkcji oceny technik odwzorowywania kształtu membrany.
The paper presents the research results which are a continuation of work on the use of image processing techniques to determine the membrane shape of the artificial ventricle. The studies were focused on developing a technique for measuring the accuracy of the membrane shape mapping. It is important in view of ensuring the required accuracy of determining the instantaneous stroke volume of controlled pneumatic artificial ventricular. Experiments were carried out on the models of convex, concave, and flat membranes. The purpose of the research was to obtain a numerical indicator, which will be used to evaluate the options to improve mapping techniques of the membrane shape.

Od 100 lat oficjalnie w Polsce mierzymy i ważymy, i robimy to z coraz większą dokładnością. Jednak ten, jakże ważny metrologiczny termin, jest niezwykle często przedstawiany w zupełnie niewłaściwym znaczeniu. Pożądana przez wszystkich metrologów jednolitość, to również jednolicie rozumiana terminologia. Niestety w zakresie „dokładności” sytuacja jest więcej niż niejednoznaczna. Artykuł przedstawia słownikową definicję tego terminu, jego interpretację oraz zawiera przykłady jego niewłaściwego użycia. Wskazuje możliwe kierunki działań służących poprawie terminologicznych niejednoznaczności.
We have been officially measuring and weighing in Poland for 100 years, and we are doing it with increasing accuracy. However, this important metrological term is enormously often presented in a completely wrong meaning. The uniformity desired by all metrologists is also a uniformly understood terminology. Unfortunately, in terms of "accuracy” the situation is more than ambiguous. This article presents a vocabulary definition of this term, its interpretation and contains examples of its misuse. The article summary indicates possible directions of actions to improve terminological ambiguities.

The paper presents the application of liquid crystal thermography for temperature determination and visualisation of two phase flow images on the studied surface. Properties and applications of thermochromic liquid crystals are discussed. Liquid crystals were applied for two-dimensional detection of the temperature of the heating foil forming one of the surfaces of the minichannel along which the cooling liquid flowed. The heat flux supplied to the heating surface was altered in the investigation and it was accompanied by a change in the color distribution on the surface. The accuracy of temperature measurements on the surface with liquid crystal thermography is estimated. The method of visualisation of two-phase flow structures is described. The analysis of monochrome images of flow structures was employed to calculate the void fraction for some cross-sections. The flow structure photos were processed using Corel graphics software and binarized. The analysis of phase volumes employed Techsystem Globe software. The measurement error of void fraction is estimated.

Monitoring the accuracy of meters by qualified workers and managers is a preventive measure of every organization. The paper focuses on monitoring the accuracy of measuring devices and proposes preventive and corrective actions. The discussed measurement device was tested for accuracy using accuracy indexes Cg and Cgk. The identified deviations in measurements showed that the meter was not fully efficient. Consequently, actions were taken to ensuring that the measurement device is accurate.
Monitorowanie sprawności mierników to działanie prewencyjne każdej organizacji. Pracownicy działów jakości oraz osoby odpowiedzialne za kontrolę i pomiary wyrobów końcowych są zobowiązani do ciągłej kontroli sprzętu pomiarowego. W artykule skupiono się na monitorowaniu dokładności przyrządu pomiarowego oraz zaproponowaniu działań zapobiegawczych i korygujących. Dokładność przyrządu pomiarowego określono za pomocą wskaźników dokładności Cg i Cgk. Stwierdzono, że odchylenia w pomiarach świadczą o tym, że miernik nie jest w pełni sprawny. W związku z tym podjęto działania naprawcze, które zapewniły sprawność przyrządu pomiarowego.

In connection with direct subsidies to agriculture in European Union, each year hundreds of thousands of measurements of crops and allotments are performed. Area measurements are performed directly on site using geodetic or aerial photogrammetry methods. It is widely used for the control of the hand (navigation) satellite receivers. The receiver has recorded a trace of movement along the land. This measurement method is quick and not expensive. Comparison of results of measurements made in this type of technology with the allowable tolerance of an area shows that the theoretically obtained accuracy is suffcient. In real measurements a main source of error is improper identification of crops borders which – in many cases – are ambiguous.
W Unii Europejskiej w związku z dopłatami bezpośrednimi do rolnictwa rocznie wykonuje się setki tysięcy bezpośrednich pomiarów powierzchni zasiewów i działek gruntowych. Pomiary powierzchni wykonuje się bezpośrednio w terenie metodami geodezyjnymi lub fotogrametrycznie na podstawie zdjęć lotniczych. Powszechnie do kontroli wykorzystuje się ręczne (nawigacyjne) odbiorniki satelitarne. W odbiorniku rejestruje się ślad przemieszczania się wzdłuż granic działki. Taka metoda pomiarowa jest szybka i niedroga. Porównanie wyników pomiarów wykonywanych tego typu technologią z dopuszczalna tolerancją powierzchni wskazuje, że teoretycznie uzyskiwane dokładności są wystarczające. W rzeczywistych pomiarach głównym źródłem błędów jest niewłaściwa identyfikacja granic zasiewów, które w wielu przypadkach są niejednoznaczne.

According to metrological guidelines and specific legal requirements, every smart electronic electricity meter has to be constantly verified after pre-defined regular time intervals. The problem is that in most cases these pre-defined time intervals are based on some previous experience or empirical knowledge and rarely on scientifically sound data. Since the verification itself is a costly procedure it would be advantageous to put more effort into defining the required verification periods. Therefore, a fixed verification interval, recommended by various internal documents, standardised evaluation procedures and national legislation, could be technically and scientifically more justified and consequently more appropriate and trustworthy for the end user. This paper describes an experiment to determine the effect of alternating temperature and humidity and constant high current on a smart electronic electricity meter’s measurement accuracy. Based on an analysis of these effects it is proposed that the current fixed verification interval could be revised, taking into account also different climatic influence. The findings of this work could influence a new standardized procedure in respect of a meter’s verification interval.

This paper proposes a method of end milling of cycloidal gears using a five-axis computer analytical control (CNC) machine tool. Firstly, the basic principle of the five-axis end milling of cycloidal gears is introduced. The cutting characteristics of the ball-end and the flat-end cutters are analyzed. Secondly, the path planning method of the five-axis end milling of cycloidal gears is researched. A curvature matching method is used to check for local over-cut interference and a minimum distance method is used to check for global collision interference. These two interferences are avoided by calculating the feasible range of cutter orientations and adjusting the dips of cutter shafts. Tests of end milling of cycloidal gears are carried out using a ball-end cutter and a flat-end cutter, respectively. Finally, full tooth profile accuracy measurements are undertaken with an image-measuring instrument to assess the quality of cycloidal gears processed in this way. This study provides a theoretical basis for the improvement of the tooth profile accuracy and surface quality of cycloidal gears.

Rozdrabnianie przeprowadzono w rozdrabniaczu wielotarczowym produkcji ZBPP w Bydgoszczy. Gromadzenie, analizę i przetwarzanie danych na wskaźniki stanów zrealizowano w środowisku oprogramowania LabVIEW.
The feasibility of new process and determination of accuracy of selected grinding characteristics of peppermint were checked. The shredding was performed in the disengaged chipper made by ZBPP in Bydgoszcz. The collection, analysis and processing of data into state indicators were performed in the LabVIEW software environment.

The paper discusses the issue of relation between the accuracy and precision of GNSS/RTK measurements conducted at points with limited visibility of satellites. Field experiments were conducted from 2005 until 2010 on forest points characterised with different intensities of obstructions. The results of measurements obtained showed, which is characteristic for forest conditions, high precision but the accuracy of the results obtained ranged from under a centimetre to even a few metres. The analyses presented in this paper show that obtaining accurate coordinates from RTK positioning under forest conditions is possible but a method to eliminate gross errors must be developed.

The article describes the results of tests carried out to determine the measurable effect of vibrations on the accuracy of measurements with an automatic precise leveller. It contains specification of the research station created to examine the case and description of factors affecting the measurement results. The multi-frequency vibrations were forced on a leveller during measurements and calculated mean errors for each frequency analysed. The range of frequencies for which the measurement was possible was estimated. The obtained results can be helpful in the engineering measurements designing, especially in industrial areas, where vibrations are an inseparable element of the environment.
Artykuł opisuje wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w celu określenia wymiernego wpływu drgań na dokładności pomiaru analogowym niwelatorem precyzyjnym pojedynczego przewyższenia. Opisano stanowisko badań oraz generator wstrząsów, jakie stworzono na potrzeby zbadania problemu oraz czynniki wpływające na wyniki pomiarów. Porównano wartości błędów średnich uzyskanych w wyniku pomiarów przeprowadzonych niwelatorem pobudzonym do drgań o różnych częstotliwościach i oszacowano przedziały tych częstotliwości, dla których pomiar był możliwy. Analizie poddano również otrzymane wartości przewyższeń, zmierzone przy różnych częstotliwościach drgań. Otrzymane wyniki mogą być pomocne przy projektowaniu pomiarów inżynierskich w warunkach przemysłowych, gdzie wstrząsy są nieodłącznym elementem środowiska.
