    Opis:
    The paper contains analysis of structure of ranked economic academic journals paying special attention to the place of their publishing. Therefore subpopulation of ranked academic journals in the field of economic sciences was extrapolated from list presented in the Announcement of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of 18th December 2015. The analyses were conducted both at the stage of single institutions (creating adequate rankings), as well as groups of institutions (7 homogenous groups of subjects publishing economic academic journals were distinguished, additionally in the group containing the biggest number of public colleges – 5 subgroups were distinguished). Number of journals (generally, published in English and dominating Polish, average number of journals) assigned to a given institution (group) and average number of points for a journal. Basic methods of statistic description of population and structure analyses were applied in the paper.

    On the occasion of the publication of the journal's fortieth issue, the author analysed data concerning Polish academic journals in the architecture and urban planning discipline which have qualified for the Academic journal support programme. The comparison of various aspects of all these journals provides an image of the differences between them in light of the fact that all of them received the same ratings from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in 2019. This article also presents the history of the development of Space & FORM, which is a journal with an increasingly international range from year to year.
    Z okazji publikacji 40-tego numeru czasopisma, autorka podjęła się analizy danych dotyczących polskich czasopism naukowych z dyscypliny architektura i urbanistyka, które zakwalifikowały się do programu „Wsparcie dla czasopism naukowych”. Porównanie różnych aspektów we wszystkich czasopismach daje obraz różnicy pomiędzy nimi, a jednocześnie w 2019 roku one wszystkie otrzymały od Ministerstwa Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego taką samą ocenę. Pokazano również rozwój czasopisma „Przestrzeń i forma”, jak z roku na rok staje się periodykiem o coraz większym, międzynarodowym zasięgu.

    The internet has greatly altered the way that people and institutions communicate. One of the most recent changes is the growth of the Open Access (OA) model, where research articles are provided free of charge to readers online. Such changes are having a domino effect on traditional communication. In most cases, articles in professional journals have been evaluated by a strict peer-review system. However, due to the inherent problems with these peer reviews, such as the length of time it takes referees to complete their analysis and the reviewer’s personal biases and potential unethical behavior, there is a growing consensus that a different review method needs to be developed for OA articles. In addition, the internet has led to the development of many new professional journals, which range from poor to excellent, based on the articles accepted. Unfortunately, some journals are being published solely for monetary gain from high author fees. Presently, different review methods are being suggested or implemented for articles, such as ranking systems, online commentaries and crowdsourcing, Also, various institutions are publishing lists that rate academic journals on their quality level. Such experimentation of review models is important. However, after the trial period, the primary OA sources need to agree on using the same review model. Consistency of evaluation is critical for readers to be able to make objective comparisons of scholastic articles from one OA site to another.

    In this paper, on the occasion of publishing the fiftieth issue of Space & form, the authors discuss a range of problems from its history. The anniversary issue of the journal is also an occasion to present the current legal situation with a focus on threats that the academic journal market in Poland currently faces. A broad investigation of legal acts and information about selected journals presents matters concerning academic journals in Poland and present information and statistics, specifically for selected periodicals from the architecture and urban planning discipline. Selected determinants of the scoring system of academic journals in Poland have been presented.
    W artykule, z okazji wydania 50 numeru Przestrzeni i formy omówiono wybrane zagadnienia z jego historii. Rocznicowe wydanie czasopisma było również okazją do przedstawienia obecnej sytuacji prawnej ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zagrożeń dotyczących rynku wydawnictw naukowych w Polsce. Szerokie badania aktów prawnych, informacji o wybranych czasopismach przedstawiają zagadnienia dotyczące czasopism naukowych w Polsce oraz prezentują informacje i statystyki w szczególności wybranych periodyków z dyscypliny architektura i urbanistyka. Pokazane zostały wybrane uwarunkowania punktacji czasopism naukowych w Polsce.

    The aim of this review is to present the development of the Polish geography of tourism, particularly its main research areas and greatest academic achievements of the last 70 years. In order to delimit the development stages, official dates have been presumed dividing the period into four sections: before World War II, 1945-1970, 1970-1990 and after 1990. The authors have taken into account the significant political, economic and social changes which have affected tourism in Poland, as well as its academic research. They also referred to books and academic journals about tourism, as well as all the habilitation theses on the geography of tourism that have appeared.
    Celem pracy, która ma charakter przeglądowy, jest omówienie rozwoju polskiej geografii turyzmu a zwłaszcza głównych kierunków badań geografów nad turystyką w Polsce i ich najważniejszych osiągnięć badawczych w okresie ostatnich 70 lat. Delimitując etapy tego rozwoju posłużono się formalnymi datami dzieląc cały omawiany okres na cztery części: okres przed drugą wojną światową, okres lat 1945-1970, lata 1970-1990 oraz po roku 1990. Ta periodyzacja uwzględnia ważne wydarzenia polityczne, gospodarcze i społeczne, które miały wpływ na rozwój turystyki w naszym kraju a tym samym na badania naukowe nad turystyką. W pracy wykorzystano ważniejsze publikacje książkowe oraz zawartość czasopism naukowych dotyczących turystyki, jak również wszystkie prace habilitacyjne z zakresu geografii turyzmu jakie ukazały się w Polsce w XX w.

    W artykule przedstawiono problem zakupu czasopism elektronicznych, z którym mają do czynienia biblioteki akademickie w Nigerii. Opisane zostały rozwiązania kwestii kluczowe dla gromadzenia e-czasopism w bibliotekach. Artykuł wykazuje, iż większość bibliotek akademickich w Nigerii dysponuje technologiami informacyjno-komunikacyjnymi potrzebnymi do wykorzystywania e-czasopism oraz dostępem do Internetu, a jednocześnie zauważalny jest brak dostępu do e-czasopism poprzez OPAC. Budżet na zbiory drukowane jest zdecydowanie większy niż na e-czasopisma, a najważniejszym problemem, na którym koncentrują się biblioteki, jest finansowanie i konserwacja wyposażenia.
    The article presents e-journals as they are dealt with in Nigerian academic libraries. It describes the key issues connected with e-journal storing in libraries. The article proves that most academic libraries in Nigeria have Internet access and sufficient e-technologies in order to make use of e-journals, but they cannot be always accessed by means of OPAC. The budget for printed resources is much more substantial than that for e-journals, and the most important problems faced by libraries is that of funding and facilities maintenance.
