Opis:
The aim of the study is to present the results of pilot study on academic staff direct participation (ASDP) in managing higher education institutions (HEI) (content, scope, intensity, practicality of impact), in key areas of its activity and its advantages and risks. The research was carried out under questionnaire survey method among academic staff of selected HEIs, in autumn 2018. It was found that ASDP applies to all areas of activity of these HEIs (content), primarily educating students; is full (academics participate in all stages of the decision-making process), has mainly operational scope (related to basic tasks in the position at work), less often strategic; it is perceived participation because the real impact of the respondents in managing HEIs is limited (passive form of participation dominates). The identified main benefits from participation indicate that ASDP can be an effective tool for creating commitment of academic staff in managing HEIs in handling their key areas of activity. The results presented are not representative (pilot study), but interesting. Therefore, the author is planning to carry out in-depth research on ASDP in managing HEI in the future.
Celem opracowania jest prezentacja wyników badania pilotażowego dotyczącego partycypacji bezpośredniej nauczycieli akademickich (PBNA) w zarządzaniu uczelnią (treść, zakres, intensywność, realność wpływu), w kluczowych obszarach jej działalności oraz związanych z nią korzyści i zagrożeń. Badanie zrealizowano metodą ankietową wśród nauczycieli akademickich wybranych uczelni, jesienią 2018 r. Stwierdzono, że PBNA dotyczy wszystkich obszarów działalności tych uczestniczą we wszystkich etapach procesu podejmowania decyzji), ma głównie zakres operacyjny (odnoszący się do podstawowych zadań na stanowisku), rzadziej strategiczny; jest to partycypacja postrzegana, gdyż realny wpływ badanych na zarządzanie uczelnia jest ograniczony (dominuje forma bierna partycypacji – współdziałanie). Zidentyfikowane główne korzyści z partycypacji wskazują, że PBNA może być skutecznym instrumentem kształtowania zaangażowania kadry akademickiej w zarządzanie uczelnią i w realizację jej głównych obszarów działalności. Zaprezentowane wyniki nie są reprezentatywne (badanie pilotażowe), ale interesujące. Dlatego autorka zrealizuje w przyszłości badania pogłębione nad PBNA w zarządzaniu uczelnią.

In 2006, in Romania was founded the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS), an agency that required all universities to analyse themselves and to self-appraise themselves from the point of view of quality. The quality of education provided to the students by a certain faculty has as dimensions, among others, the quality of academic staff, a quality resulting from the analysis of three components: appraisal by the students, appraisal by the colleagues and appraisal by the institution's management. In this paper we aim to determine to what extent the picture created by the students of the professors can be superposed on the one resulting from the appraisal of the academic staff's emotional intelligence competence. This is possible due to the fact that in the research on the appraisal of academic staff by the students there has been used a questionnaire that targeted the quality of teaching, the quality of the employed evaluation methods, the communication and relationing competences, the empathy, the management of relationships, i.e. the components of emotional intelligence.
W 2006 roku w Rumunii powstała Rumuńska Agencja Zapewnienia Jakości Szkolnictwa Wyższego, agencja, która zleciła wszystkim uczelniom przeprowadzenie jakościowej samoanalizy i samooceny. Jakość edukacji w opinii studentów jednego z wydziałów została oceniona m. in. na podstawie jakości kadry akademickiej, jakości wynikającej z analizy trzech składników: oceny studentów, oceny kolegów oraz oceny dokonanej przez kierownictwo uczelni. W artykule określono zakres, w jakim obraz profesorów stworzony przez studentów można skorelować z obrazem kompetencji wynikających z inteligencji emocjonalnej pracowników nauki. Możliwe to jest ze względu na fakt, że w badaniach dotyczących oceny profesorów przez studentów wykorzystano kwestionariusz ukierunkowany na jakość nauczania, jakość zastosowanych metod oceny, kompetencje związane z komunikacją i nawiązywaniem relacji, zarządzaniem związkami, np. składniki inteligencji emocjonalnej.

The aim of the Faculty of Theology, Section in Tarnów of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow is a comprehensive and systematic study of God’s revelation in different periods and aspects of the life of the Church and a human being. In this article the author presents various aspects of scientific and didactic work undertaken in the service of science by the academic staff of the Faculty of Theology, Section in Tarnów. First, an acoount will be given of the scientific contacts (meetings, consultations, conferences, seminars, reviews) with the academics of various scientific and research institutions, both from Poland and abroad. Then, the new book series (nearly two hundred books in total), scientific journals and various publications will be highlighted.

The 21st century brings new challenges for the society and every human being. Although today’s Europe is in the process of strengthening and enlarging its economic and political union, it seems to suffer from a profound crisis of values. Therefore, it is very important to have a proper perception and understanding of contemporary challenges for education and pedagogy. This might results in going through the effective learning processes, which enable a human being to function properly in his/her private and professional life. For all these reasons, the author of this article shows various aspects of scientific and didactic activities undertaken by the academic staff of the Faculty of Theology, Section in Tarnów, which is an integral part of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow. A short historical sketch of establishment of the Faculty of Theology, Section in Tarnów enable to embed the academic work of this Faculty in specific realities and conditions.

W artykule poddano analizie życiorysy 39 profesorów Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego i Uniwersytetu Jana Kazimierza we Lwowie. Rozważania dotyczą tych aktywności w ramach ich drogi naukowej i zawodowej, które były realizowane poza obszarem ziem polskich. Takie działania były widoczne już na etapie studiów wyższych. Zdecydowana większość interesujących nas osób wybierała jako jedyne lub jedno z kilku miejsc kształcenia uczelnie zagraniczne, podobnie było w przypadku wyboru miejsca uzyskania doktoratu. Najbardziej popularne w przypadku studiów i doktoratu były uczelnie w Rzymie (szczególnie tamtejszy Uniwersytet Gregoriański) oraz Uniwersytety w Innsbrucku i Monachium. Wybór placówek rzymskich nie może dziwić, biorąc pod uwagę fakt, że wszystkie analizowane osoby były duchownymi. W przypadku pracy zawodowej liczba pobytów zagranicznych wyraźnie uległa zmniejszeniu, choć w życiorysach części osób znajdujemy i takie elementy.
The article analyzes the biographies of 39 professors of the Faculties of Theology at the Jagiellonian University and the Jan Kazimierz University in Lvov. The particular focus is on their scientific and professional activities beyond the Polish lands. The first stage of foreign scientific travel often came with the choice of the alma mater. The vast majority of the professors chose foreign universities either as the only one or as one of more educational destinations. The same goes for the place where they decided to obtain a doctorate. The most popular choices for university studies and doctorates were universities in Rome (especially the Pontifical Gregorian University) and the universities in Innsbruck and Munich. Rome, in particular, seems to have been an obvious choice, given that the professors were all clergymen. The number of professional foreign stays was not as high as the number of scientific ones, though such elements are present in some of the biographies.

Przedstawiono historię Wydziału Elektrycznego Politechniki Poznańskiej, począwszy od działającego od 1929 roku Wydziału Elektrycznego Państwowej Wyższej Szkoły Budowy Maszyn i Elektrotechniki. Od 1945 roku Wydział Elektryczny funkcjonował w ramach Szkoły Inżynierskiej, a od 1955 roku w ramach utworzonej w tamtym roku Politechniki Poznańskiej.
The paper presents a 90-year history of the Poznań University of Technology (PUT) Faculty of Electrical Engineering, in three periods: 1929–1939, as the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Government Higher School of Machine Construction and Electrotechnics (Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Budowy Maszyn i Elektrotechniki), 1945–1955, as the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the School of Engineering (Szkoła Inżynierska), and 1955–2019, as the PUT Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Between 1929 and 1939, students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Government Higher School of Machine Construction and Electrotechnics were trained in Electrotechnics and graduated with the degree of technologist. Between 1945 and 1955, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the School of Engineering offered courses in Electrotechnics and Electronics, subsequently granting its graduates the degree of engineer. Between 1955 and 2019, the PUT Faculty of Electrical Engineering offered teaching in: Electrotechnics, Automatics and Robotics, IT, as well as Telecommunication and Power Engineering. Its graduates left the university as Masters of Science and Engineering (M.Sc. Eng). Irrespective of teaching the PUT Faculty of Electrical Engineering has been active in research and academics’ training since 1955. The Faculty gained the right to grant doctoral degrees in 1966, and habilitation degrees in science in 1969.

This paper analyzes some results of a survey for university professors and university management, held by the international research team within the European IRNet Project: International Research Network for study and development of new tools and methods for advanced pedagogical science in the field of ICT instruments, e-learning, and intercultural competences. The survey researched motivation and aims of professors from the Dniprodzerzhinsk State Technical University – official partner of the project. The article reveals professors’ beliefs and preferences about ICT-aided learning as well as it analyzes advantages, problems, and motives of the introduction of ICT in higher education teaching.

Autorka prezentuje potencjał kadrowy szkół wyższych Warszawy i Mazowsza w latach 2006-2008. Dokonuje analizy struktury wieku, struktury zatrudnienia kadry naukowo-dydaktycznej (według stanowisk) oraz nasycenia poszczególnych ośrodków akademickich kadrą akademicką. Przedstawia również ścieżkę awansu nauczycieli akademickich, ich rozwój naukowy, problem wieloetatowości i wielozatrudnienia - który w dużej mierze dotyka kadrę akademicką - oraz zasady wynagradzania pracowników naukowo-dydaktycznych. Zgromadzony materiał wskazuje, iż poddana analizie kadra akademicka publicznych i niepublicznych uczelni Mazowsza charakteryzowała się: wysokim średnim wiekiem, znacznym odsetkiem emerytowanych profesorów (zwłaszcza w uczelniach niepublicznych), zbyt powolnym rozwojem naukowym (liczba stopni naukowych nadanych w ostatnich latach na Mazowszu nie wykazywała tendencji wzrostowej) oraz znacznym wielozatrudnieniem (zwłaszcza nauczycieli akademickich pracujących na pierwszym etacie w publicznych szkołach wyższych).
The author presents the human potential of tertiary education institutions in Warsaw and Mazovia in 2006-2008. She analyses the age structure, employment structure of teaching and research staff (by positions), saturation of academic centres with academic staff. Further on, the author presents the career path of academic teachers, their academic development, the problem of working under multiple contracts of employment and in multiple institutions (very widespread among academic staff), as well as rules of compensation for research and teaching staff. The accumulated data indicate that the analysed academic staff of public and non-public higher education institutions of Mazovia had the following characteristics: high average age, considerable percentage of retired professors (especially in non-public schools), fairly slow academic growth (the number of academic degrees conferred in Mazovia in recent years did not show an upward trend) and a considerable proportion of staff working in multiple jobs (especially among academic teachers for whom a public university is a primary place of employment).

In dem Beitrag werden Profile des Forschungs- und Lehrpersonals vorgestellt, die zur wissenschaftlichen und didaktischen Entwicklung des Lehrstuhls für frühkindliche Bildung und Medienpädagogik der Schlesischen Universität in Katowice wesentlich beigetragen haben. Während seiner vierzigjährigen Tätigkeit arbeitete der Lehrstuhl mit vielen herausragenden Wissenschaftlern aus regionalen, inländischen und ausländischen akademischen Zentren zusammen. Derzeit betreibt er ein intensives Forschungsprogramm, unterrichtet Studenten im Lehrerberuf und nimmt an Promotionen zum Doktor und habilitierten Doktor teil.

Opis:
The goal of the article is to present an applied research project which sets an example of best practice in international academic cooperation for building an evidence-based prevention system in Western Ukraine. As a neighboring country, Poland is open to sharing its experience and achievements in attaining effective systematic solutions regarding alcohol and drug issues, which is of interest to Ukraine and is confirmed by the execution of the presented project, realized in cooperation with the academic staff of the Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University. The aim of the project is to develop a conceptual and educational module for courses preparing students for prevention work with children and the youth. The project was implemented by a team from the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, which has over twenty years of experience in preparing social educators for the implementation of preventive tasks. The article contains the empirical foundation, the need for the fulfillment of the project, the descriptions of its goals, subject, method of action and implementation stages. It discusses the difficulties encountered at the design and implementation stages, and the final results.
Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie projektu badań stosowanych, będącego przykładem dobrej praktyki w zakresie międzynarodowej współpracy akademickiej na rzecz budowania systemu profilaktyki opartej na dowodach naukowych w zachodniej Ukrainie. Polska jako kraj sąsiadujący jest otwarta na dzielenie się doświadczeniami i osiągnięciami w wypracowywaniu skutecznych, systemowych rozwiązań dotyczących problemów alkoholowych i narkotykowych, którymi zainteresowana jest Ukraina. Potwierdzeniem tego jest prezentowany projekt, realizowany we współpracy z kadrą akademicką z Państwowego Uniwersytetu Pedagogicznego im. Iwana Franki w Drohobyczu. Jego celem jest opracowanie koncepcji i modułu kształcenia dla kierunków studiów przygotowujących studentów do pracy profilaktycznej z dziećmi i młodzieżą. Realizatorem projektu jest zespół z Uniwersytetu Kazimierza Wielkiego w Bydgoszczy, który ma ponad dwudziestoletnie doświadczenie w przygotowywaniu pedagogów społecznych do realizacji zadań profilaktycznych. Artykuł zawiera empiryczne uzasadnienie potrzeby realizacji projektu oraz opisy jego celów szczegółowych, przedmiotu, metody działania i charakterystykę kolejnych etapów. Omówiono w nim trudności napotkane na etapie projektowania i realizacji oraz efekt końcowy.

Opis:
Autorka omawia - na podstawie literatury przedmiotu - główne kierunki przemian w procesie kształcenia doktorantów w krajach Unii Europejskiej. W centrum rozważań znajdują się zmiany w modelu kształcenia (przejście od modelu „mistrz-uczeń” do kształcenia grupowego), dywersyfikacja modeli kształcenia oraz czynniki generujące wyżej wymienione zmiany. W tym kontekście uwidoczniona została rola Procesu Bolońskiego w procesie przechodzenia do kształcenia na stopień doktora jako studiów III poziomu/stopnia/ na III szczeblu. Wskazano również na nowe tendencje i kierunki zmian w procesie kształcenia doktorantów, determinowane międzynarodową współpracą szkół wyższych i mobilnością uczonych.
By drawing on relevant literaturę, the author discusses key directions of change in doctoral education across EU member States. Her focus is on changes in the training models (atransition from the ‘master-apprentice’ model to group-based education), diversification of such models and drivers of change. In this context, the author shows the role of the Bologna Process in the transition towards doctoral training as third cycle education. The paper also mentions new trends and directions of change in doctoral training driven by international collaboration between universities and mobility of researchers.

Autor w artykule podejmuję kwestie dotyczące przekształcenia w 1967 r. szkół oficerskich w wyższe szkoły oficerskie. Na podstawie analizy źródeł archiwalnych, literatury przedmiotu oraz własnej refleksji opisuje kryteria dotyczące wyznaczania kandydatów na stanowiska nauczycieli akademickich w nowo utworzonych wojskowych uczelniach zawodowych. Zwraca uwagę na kształcenie doskonalące, a w szczególności na kształcenie pedagogiczne kadry dydaktycznej, podejmuje również próbę uzasadnienia konieczności owego kształcenia. Wskazuje także na proces rozwoju naukowego nauczycieli akademickich, w tym wojskowych nauczycieli akademickich, dostrzega i interpretuje mankamenty tego procesu.
In the article, the author deals with issues concerning the transformation of officer schools into military academies in 1967. On the basis of the analysis of archival sources, the literature of the subject and his own reflection, he describes the criteria for appointing candidates for the posts of academic teachers in newly established military vocational academies. He draws attention to training, and in particular to pedagogical education of teaching staff, and also attempts to justify the necessity of this kind of training. He indicates the process of scientific development of academic teachers, including military academic teachers, recognises and interprets the shortcomings of this process.
