Opis:: In this study, different types of whisker-like formations of Sn-3.0Ag based alloy were presented. In the experimental process the amount of Pb element was changed between 1000 and 2000 ppm, and the furnace atmosphere and cooling rate were also modified. The novelty of this work was that whisker-like formations in macro scale size were experienced after an exothermic reaction. The whiskers of larger sizes than general provided opportunities to investigate the microstructure and the concentration nearby the whiskers. In addition, the whisker-like formations from Sn-Ag based bulk material did not only consist of pure tin but tin and silver phases. The whisker-like growth appeared in several forms including hillock, spire and nodule shaped formations in accordance with parameters. It was observed that the compound phases were clustered in many cases mainly at hillocks.

Opis:: Denim industry is one of the emerging sectors in the world among all woven garments industry. The rapid changing monetary conditions like as global challenge, declining overall revenue, client interest for high quality item, variety of product and diminished lead–time and so on had a crucial impact on manufacturing plants. The interest for higher incentive at lower cost is expanding and to endure, clothing makers need to enhance their operation through-delivering right first-time quality and reduction of waste or reworks. Defects are the main concern in quality assurance of denim garments. Most of the defects are visualize in denim washing. This research emphasizes the cause effect and remedy of washing defects of denim garments. This research initiated by collecting quality inspected data of consecutive three months for the Whisker and Hand Brush process to have an overview of the defects of the washing plant and then analyzed the root causes and effects of the defects to provide a recommended solution both for Whisker and Hand Brush process on which standard operating procedure (SOP) is introduced to reduce the level of defects. After ensuring the standard operating procedure both for dry and wet process, quality inspected data was recorded for the following three months for Whisker and Hand Brush process. Finally, a significant level of defects is reduced in Whisker and Hand Brush process.

Opis:: W artykule podjęto próbę identyfikacji zjawiska sezonowości sprzedaży w kopalni odkrywkowej surowców skalnych X, przy zastosowaniu jednej z grupy metod data mining – metody CHAID oraz za pomocą sporządzonego skategoryzowanego wykresu ramka-wąsy. Do tego celu wykorzystano program komputerowy STATISTICA 10. Badano szereg czasowy sprzedaży miesięcznej z okresu sześciu lat. Obie wykorzystane metody potwierdziły występowanie sezonowości sprzedaży w analizowanej kopalni, jak również podzieliły sezonowość sprzedaży na trzy grupy o podobnej wartości średniej miesięcznej sprzedaży.
This paper attempts to identify the phenomenon of sale seasonality in opencast mine X of rock and raw materiale by the use of one of the data mining methods – CHAID method and box and whisker plot. This analysis was performed by the computer program STATISTICA 10. This kind of research was made on data grouped in time series of monthly sales within a period of six years. Both methods have confirmed the presence of seasonality in the analysed mine. They grouped the seasonality of sales in three groups of similar average monthly sales.
