Opis:
In our paper we considered the problem of demand uncertainty and its influence on planning and scheduling of LPG deliveries. The experience of specialized transportation company in charge of LPG deliveries for the domestic supplier network under VMI approach was analyzed. High variability of distribution parameters and frequent orders modifications were observed while small stations tanks capacities comparing to high daily LPG sales volumes were considered. The combined use of simulation and optimization methods was proposed for the case of LPG distribution to the petrol stations network. The demand uncertainty at customers' stations was considered. Simulation models were assumed to be efficient for dynamic and robust delivery plans of LPG distribution. The results of computational experiments were presented for different values of coefficient of variation.

Opis:
In the paper a mathematical model of MDMGVRP is presented. The two CLP programs solving above are described and discussed. The new variant of VRP consider certain number of commodities (goods) transported. In classic VRP there is only one commodity. The second main difference to classic problem is limited stock in depots. This two aspects cause the problem more complicated and prevent from direct applying of common known algorithms for solving the MDMGVRP. Two CLP solver tools were used to formulate CLP programs. The first was Cosytec CHIP the other was GNU-Prolog. Finally a demonstration problem is presented and solution is discussed.
W artykule przedstawiono nowy wariant problemu marszrutyzacji pojazdów - MDMGVRP, czyli problem marszrutyzacji pojazdów z wieloma magazynami i wieloma asortymentami. Zagadnienie zostało opisane modelem matematycznym a następnie rozwiązane metodą CLP. Opisano dwa programy wykonane przy użyciu narzędzi CLP: Cosytec CHIP i GNU-Prolog. Na koniec przedstawiono przykładowe dane oraz rozwiązanie uzyskane przy pomocy opisanych programów.

Opis:
When solving problems in the real world using optimization tools, the model solved by the tools is often only an approximation of the underlying, real, problem. In these circumstances, a decision maker (DM) should consider a diverse set of good solutions, not just an optimal solution as produced using the model. On the other hand, the same DM will only be interested in seeing a few of the alternative solutions, and not the plethora of solutions often produced by modern search techniques. There is thus a need to distinguish between good solutions using the attributes of solutions. We develop a distance function of the type proposed in the Psychology literature by Tversky (1977) for the class of VRP problems. We base our difference on the underlying structure of solutions. A DM is often interested in focusing on a set of solutions fulfilling certain conditions that are of specific importance that day, or in general, like avoiding a certain road due to construction that day. This distance measure can also be used to generate solutions containing these specific classes of attributes, as the normal search process might not supply enough of these interesting solutions. We illustrate the use of the functions in a Multiobjective Decision Support System (DSS) setting, where the DM might want to see the presence (or absence) of certain attributes, and show the importance of identifying solutions not on the Pareto front. Our distance measure can use any attributes of the solutions, not just those defined in the optimization model.

Opis:
Modelling of transport systems is a complex issue requiring taking into account many factors that allow for the mapping of the real system and thus allowing decision support. In the era of increasingly higher requirements for services, transport also faces the challenges of sustainable development. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research both in the sphere of technical and organizational solutions aimed at limiting pollutant emissions. Mapping in the model the negative impact of transport on the environment allows for planning the implementation of the transport service taking into account the pro-ecological criterion. This is particularly important in urban areas where traffic and especially heavy goods vehicles are particularly onerous for inhabitants and require limiting transport work in the city area and the use of environmentally friendly rolling stock. The aim of the article is to present the considerations regarding the modelling of transport systems including pollutant emissions. The article introduces the problem of cargo distribution and a review of the models of estimation of pollution emission in the micro and macro scale was carried out. Next, a mathematical model was proposed which is a variant of the Vehicle Routing Problem of the so-called Green VRP. In the distribution model was used COPERT methodology for estimation of harmful substance emission. In article examples of calculations carried out on the example of the city of Warsaw for the organization of cargo distribution due to the CO emission criterion was presented. The article ended with a short synthesis of the work carried out.

Solid Waste Management
Opis:
Nowadays, selective solid waste management in the European Union belongs to important responsibilities of municipalities. In Solid Waste Management (SWM) the main operational task is to set a schedule for solid waste collection and to find optimal routes for garbage trucks, so that the total costs of the solid waste collection service can be minimized, subject to a series of constraints which not only guarantee the fulfillment of the SWM’s obligations but also ensure the desirable quality level of that service. The optimization in garbage truck routing belongs to so called rich Vehicle Routing Problems as it aims to cover the following constraints: pickup nodes (clients) must be visited during their predefined time windows; the number and capacity of depots and specialized sorting units cannot be exceeded; each garbage truck can be assigned to at most one depot; each route should be dedicated to collecting one type of segregated solid waste, and the route must be served by a garbage truck which can collect that type of solid waste; the availability of garbage trucks and their drivers must be respected; each garbage truck must be drained at a specialized sorting unit before going back to the depot. This paper contributes a newly developed Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP) model for the Municipal Solid Waste Selective Collection Routing Problem (MSWSCRP) with time windows, limited heterogeneous fleet, and different types of segregated solid waste to be collected separately. Results obtained for solving small-sized instance of the MSWSCRP are reported.

Opis:
Deliveries planning in transport systems is a complicated task and require taking into account a wide range of factors. Enterprises wanting to propose solutions that meet the clients’ needs and be competitive on the market must prepare their offer based on decision support systems including factors characteristic for the real process. The aim of the article is to present a concept of a decision support system based on a multi-criteria vehicle routing problem in real conditions (Real-World VRP). Taking into account the latest trends in the optimization of the delivery plan, the model includes three criteria - the cost, time and success rate of the delivery plan as a criterion relating to the quality of the delivery plan. Among other assumptions, it should be pointed out that the heterogeneous structure of the rolling stock has been taken into account, the number of which is not limited, the vehicles return to the place of origin. The travel time of the connection and the time of loading operations are random variables. The limited driver’s work time and driving time were also applied. The effect of the work presented in the article is the concept of the decision support system in the freight transport, taking into account the quality criterion of the delivery plan.

Opis:
The complexity and dynamics in groupage traffic require flexible, efficient, and adaptive planning and control processes. The general problem of allocating orders to vehicles can be mapped into the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP). However, in practical applications additional requirements complicate the dispatching processes and require a proactive and reactive system behavior. To enable automated dispatching processes, this article presents a multiagent system where the decision making is shifted to autonomous, interacting, intelligent agents. Beside the communication protocols and the agent architecture, the focus is on the individual decision making of the agents which meets the specific requirements in groupage traffic. To evaluate the approach we apply multiagent-based simulation and model several scenarios of real world infrastructures with orders provided by our industrial partner. Moreover, a case study is conducted which covers the autonomous groupage traffic in the current processes of our industrial parter. The results reveal that agent-based dispatching meets the sophisticated requirements of groupage traffic. Furthermore, the decision making supports the combination of pickup and delivery tours efficiently while satisfying logistic request priorities, time windows, and capacity constraints.

Points of distribution, sales or service are important elements of the supply chain. These are the final elements which are responsible for proper functioning of the whole cargo distribution process. Proper location of these points in the transport network is essential to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of the supply chain. The location of these points is very important also from the consumers point of view. In this paper developed method of points location was present on the example of urban transport network. The developed approach is based on the Vehicle Routing Problem in the multistage distribution systems. The proposed method uses a genetic algorithm. Article also presents a mathematical model of delivery cost as a criterion function. The article presents an example calculations which illustrating the operation of the developed method.
