Because of the decision, taken during the ITU WRC-07, to allocate the upper part of the so-called digital dividend spectrum for mobile services on a co-primary basis with TV broadcast services, the involved stakeholders have a great interest in avoiding any interference caused by signals transmitted in adjacent bands. In this context the paper presents some experimental results of a study addressed to assess the effects produced by an interferential LTE signal transmitted from a user terminal when it is in proximity of a television antenna that receives DVB-T signals. The study has been conducted in the context of collaboration between Fondazione Ugo Bordoni and ISCTI, the scientic and technical body of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, using high professional laboratory equipments and considering different experimental simulation test setups. Several simulation scenarios have been analyzed and results in terms of protection ratio and protection distance have been carried out.

Occupational exposure caused by large broadcasting transmitters exceeds current reference levels. As it is common for different radio and TV transmitters to share the location, we analysed combined exposure on a 40-m high mast. The frequency modulation (FM) transmitter, located between the 10th and 30th metre, had the power of 25 kW, whereas an ultra-high frequency (UHF) transmitter of 5 kW occupied the top 8 m of the mast. Measured and calculated values of the electric field strength exceeded the reference levels up to 10 times; however, the results for the specific absorption rate (SAR) values show that the reference levels are very conservative for FM exposure, i.e., basic restrictions are not exceeded even when the reference levels are exceeded 10 times. However, for UHF exposure the reference levels are not conservative; they give a good prediction of real exposure.

Opis:
This paper presents research results related to measurements of partial discharges (PD), which may occur in oil insulation systems of electric power transformers. Three measuring methods were considered: electrical (apparent charge - IEC60270), acoustic emission (AE) and ultra-high frequency (UHF) method. Research works have been proceeded under laboratory condition. PD were generated using special apparatus and spark gap configuration for surface PD modeling. Measurements were performed simultaneously for each of the regarded methods and were repeated for selected supply voltage levels. The electrical and UHF methods measurements were made using MPD measuring system from Omicron. The AE method measurements were made using a piezoelectric transducer, which was installed on the outer transformer tank wall. Comparative analysis of signals gathered during research works was made. Possibilities of application of the three considered PD detection methods for electric power systems with oil insulation were proposed in the paper.
