Opis:: Over the last two decades, there has been more comprehensive and focused research on old prints produced by the historical Jesuit Trnava University. It existed in Trnava between 1635 and 1777 when it was moved to Buda (today's Budapest, Hungary) by the monarch Maria Theresa. Thus the university influenced the educational level of the Hungarian population in the 17th and especially the 18th century, and became the centre of Baroque education in what is today Slovakia. The establishment and existence of Trnava University was of fundamental importance for the development of many scientific disciplines, which was further multiplied by the titles published by the Academic Printing House. This study aims to highlight those aspects of the activities of the university and individuals that have contributed to a breakthrough in scientific knowledge and at the same time have been the subject of partial or systematic research since 2000.

Opis:: Aim. From the point of view of the period of creation and historical development, we consider the streets of the historical core of Trnava to be the most dynamic, and why we focused on street name changes in the period from 1900 to the present in the area of the historical core of the city. Methods. As part of the methodology the classification by urbanonym, with the help of which we included the names of streets and squares into individual categories. A classification was used that divides urbanonyms into socially motivated and socially non-motivated, which are further divided into several subcategories. Urbanonyms are further divided into domestic and foreign. This classification is the most up-to-date of those mentioned and includes a category of religious names. Results. The category of socially significant street names, are divided at a lower level into the categories of politics, art and culture, church, science, crafts and trade, historical names and institutions. The most numerous is the group of names in the art and culture category, which includes 70 domestic and 10 foreign names, which together represent 25.89% of the total number of streets in the city. There are 15 streets in the categories of politics, church and science (4.85% of all 309 streets). Conclusion. Currently, Trnava can be characterised as a modern, dynamic city with a great influence on its surroundings. The restrictive measures taken in connection with the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 greatly affected the tourism sector and meant permanent closure for many businesses.

Opis:: Trnava, a town in Slovakia, declared 2010 the "Year of Trnava University," in honor of the 375th anniversary of the university's founding. It was originally called "Universitas Tyrnaviensis", established in 1635 under the guidance of Cardinal Pázmány. The university was initially founded by the Jesuit Order and continues to exemplify traditional Christian values in its teaching and research activities. In 1777, Universitas Tyrnaviensis was officially closed and moved to present day Budapest, and the university doors did not open again until the foundation of the Slovak state in 1993 which prompted the reinstatement of the older college. The present day university builds on the rich heritage passed down by previous generations. The current day Faculty of Health Care and Social Work builds on the heritage and achievements of the School of Medicine, founded in 1769, which bore numerous esteemed scholars and practitioners. The current day university continues the legacies as established within the ethos of Universitas Tyrnaviensis, such as rekindling the focus on humanitarian activities, attaining high teaching standards in education and high levels in scientific research. Without doubt, the rich history and scholarly achievements of Trnava University constitute an important part of national Slovak history.
Trnawa, miasto na Słowacji, rok 2010 ogłosiło "Rokiem Uniwersytetu Trnawskiego", aby tym samym uczcić 375 rocznicę założenia uczelni. Utworzona w roku 1635 pod kierownictwem kardynała Pázmány, pierwotnie nazywana ona była "Universitas Tyrnaviensis". Uniwersytet ten został założony przez Towarzystwo Jezusowe i nadal stara się w swojej działalności pedagogicznej i badawczej egzemplifikować tradycyjne wartości chrześcijańskie. W roku 1777 Universitas Tyrnaviensis został oficjalnie zamknięty i przeniesiony do Budapesztu, a drzwi uczelni zostały ponownie otwarte dopiero w momencie powstania Państwa słowackiego w 1993 roku, co pozwoliło na wznowienie funkcjonowania działalności. Dzisiejszy uniwersytet opiera się na bogatym dziedzictwie przekazanym przez poprzednie pokolenia. Obecny Wydział Nauk o Zdrowiu i Pracy Socjalnej rozwija się w oparciu o dorobek i osiągnięcia Szkoły Medycznej, założonej w 1769 roku, które wykształciła wielu wielkich uczonych i ekspertów-praktyków. Obecny Uniwersytet kontynuuje spuściznę Universitas Tyrnaviensis, opierając się na wartościach takich jak przywracanie zainteresowania działalnością humanitarną oraz osiąganie wysokich standardów nauczania w zakresie edukacji i badań naukowych. Bez wątpienia, ze względu na bogatą historię i osiągnięcia naukowe, historia Uniwersytetu Trnawskiego jest ważną częścią historii Słowacji.

Opis:: The author deals with six, out of ten, Slovakian towns recognized as urban reserves. Their history is described and so are their historical monuments and the course of work on the latter’s preservation. In the case of Bratislava — the problem is tackled as well of tracing the new thoroughfare along the borderline of the meadiaeval city. The said road cannot but be recognized as a negative example of combining the old built up areas with the new ones. The author concludes his paper in the statement that the results of the conservation work carried out in Slovakia so far represent, on the average, rather high standards in spite of the fact of the activities of the Slovakian conservation service being seriously limited because of the shortage of skilled workers and craftsmen necessary for the purpose.

Opis:: The accessibility of regional centers by public transport in a defined area is a very specific problem. Depending on the organization of public transport, there is a potentially related phenomenon – social transport exclusion. The aim of the study is to express the existence of a relationship between public transport and regional development in the rural self-governing region Trnava. At the same time, we identify municipalities – more precisely areas – with reduced transport accessibility in relation to their regional development and we determine the most advantageous means of public transport for the population who does not have the possibility to use a car. The procedure was to use an electronic database of train and bus timetables to obtain information about the studied characteristics for the return journey during the 24 hours of working days (Tuesday). We found that rail and combined transport have better quality in about half of the region’s municipalities. The Pearson correlation coefficient of product of moments indicated that the value of the correlation between the number of points for public transport and points for regional development is only 0.36, and therefore there is no strong connection between them. However, the individual extreme and average values of these indicators and especially their sub-components have shown us that there is a certain dependence between these values. The results show that despite a lower impact on public transport on regional development, it has a more decisive influence, leading to the strengthening of public transport.
