The article assesses the possibility of activation of transport and logistics services in relation Silesia – Trieste - Alexandria and by continuation towards India. The increasing demand for transport on this route, where the section will be located onshore in the sixth (and part of fifth) transport corridor and the forecast of traffic on the route for transportation of bulk materials, justify launching intermodal connections there. It is expected that the market for transport in the analyzed route will have significant bulk loads (coal, coke) in the area of Silesia, in the direction to the south of Europe and further by maritime transport to customers in Egypt and India (coke plants, steel mills).

The aim of research was to evaluate the hygroscopic properties of green coffee beans determining its quality during sea transportation. The research material consisted of seven samples of unroasted bean coffee from different countries of origin (Kenya, India, Ethiopia, Columbia and Guatemala) obtained directly from the coffee producer. The water content of green coffee must not exceed 12% as it then has a tendency to grow mould and become musty. Coffee beans require particular temperature, humidity/moisture and possibly ventilation conditions and therefore, to explore and predict the behaviour during transport of green coffee its equilibrium moisture content must be determined for a range of transport temperatures and relative humidity levels . The present paper focuses on the evaluation of the hygroscopic properties of green coffee from different countries of origin based on isotherms of water vapour sorption and characteristic selected parameters of the surface microstructure determining transport conditions and the microbiological stability of this cargo. While assessing the quality and transport durability of green coffee beans, based on the parameters of monomolecular layer capacity and the specific surface area of sorption, it was found that especially samples of coffee from Guatemala and Ethiopia were the least susceptible to changes in the transport conditions.

The aim of this paper is to empirically analyse the relationship between the trade wars and modes of transport for selected countries. For this purpose the causality relationship between trade value and sea transport / air transportation for EU-G20 and US-G20 countries was examined. Panel causality analysis was used as a method in the study. The empirical findings of the study show the existence of a causality relationship between the trade value and modes of transport (sea transport and air transport) for country groups. This shows that the countries' sea and air transport will be adversely afected by trade wars.

Road transportation does an excellent job of connecting Savar's inner and outer areas, but it might be difficult for commuters to decide which mode of transportation to employ because residents of Savar come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds. It is necessary to do in-depth research on the characteristics of people in the study region who choose different modes of transportation to achieve the goal of selecting a certain mode for their travel. Where a person lives can have a significant impact on their typical patterns of travel behavior. People who live closer to the center of things have access to a wider variety of amenities than those who live further away, and as a consequence, their travel patterns are distinct from one another. The study's findings indicate that several factors, including income, age, gender, and vocational qualities and goals, influence a commuter's preferred method of transportation. When it comes to selecting a mode of transportation, the most predictable factors to take into account are trip time and cost. After conducting research, it was found that most excursions are made from this place to Motijheel, Tejgaon, and Savar Export Processing Zone for their services, businesses, and jobs, respectively.

This paper covers the current state of maritime oil transportation in the Baltic Sea and the development of oil transportation in the 2000s, as well as estimations of transported oil volumes in 2020 and 2030 in the Gulf of Finland. The scenarios were formulated on the basis of a current state analysis, energy and transportation strategies and scenarios and expert assessments. The study showed that the volumes of oil transportation in the Gulf of Finland will increase only moderately compared to the current status: 9.5-33.8 %, depending on the scenario. Green energy policy favours renewable energy sources, which can be seen in the smaller volumes of transported oil in the 2030 scenarios compared to the 2020 scenarios. In the Slow development 2020 scenario, oil transport volumes for 2020 are expected to be 170.6 Mt (million tonnes), in the Average development 2020 187.1 Mt and in the Strong development 2020 201.5 Mt. The corresponding oil volumes for the 2030 scenarios were 165 Mt for the Stagnating development 2030 scenario, 177.5 Mt for the Towards a greener society 2030 scenario and 169.5 Mt in the Decarbonising society 2030 scenario.

The paper presents the problem of designing transportation system for goods distribution with usage of multicriteria decision supporting method. The general characteristic of transportation system as an element of distribution system was presented. Moreover, the distribution system was identified as a one of the most important elements of supply chain which aims in making products available in place and time matching client needs. In further part the problem was mathematically formalized to optimization task. Analyzing the problems of modeling conveying system forces claim that decisions taken within area of transport organization consist in solving complex decision problems. Complexity follows from the demand of best decision according to many aspects. Solution must ensure othe best realization of all partial criteria (aims) taken into account during decision making process. The article contains characteristics of methods of multicriteria evaluation with regard to short literature review. The emphasis was placed on ELEKTRA and MAJA methods which can be applied in the evaluation of complex decision problems in transportation systems. The last part of the article is verifies of presented issues by tneans of numerical experiment.

The present paper presents results of research on opinions of farm owners concerning the need and forms of transportation services within the context of their education. According to 59.04% of surveyed farmers, there is demand for transportation services. The primary reason for such demand is time savings (the number of answers increases along with an increase in farmer’s education). 48.80% of farmers use such services (42.86% having a primary education and 71.43% having a higher education). The primary reason for using such services is the fact to be cheaper when compared to own transport - percentage share in answers increases along with an increase in education. Among farmers who provide such services, 71.24% perceive it as a source of additional income. Either transportation services in the form of sale or purchase of means of produce sale or combination of these occur in 44.56% of answers. All-inclusive transportation services in external transportation, that is purchase of means and collection of goods, are preferred by 36.73% on average and the number increases along with an increase in education. The values for farmers having a primary and higher education are: 14.29% and 67.14% respectively.
Przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczących opinii właściciela gospodarstwa na temat potrzeb i form obsługi transportowej w kontekście jego wykształcenia. Według 59,04% rolników usługi transportowe są potrzebne. Podstawowym powodem przemawiającym za potrzebą usług jest oszczędność czasu (ilość odpowiedzi rośnie wraz ze wzrostem wykształcenia). 48,80% rolników korzysta z usług (42,86% podstawowe i 71,43% wyższe). Podstawowym powodem korzystania z usług transportowych jest to, iż są one tańsze w stosunku do transportu własnego - % odpowiedzi rośnie w miarę wzrostu wykształcenia. Wśród rolników dających usługi średnio 71,24% upatruje w tym dodatkowy zarobek. Obsługa transportowa w formie: albo zakup środków, albo sprzedaż produkcji lub ich połączenie 44,56% odpowiedzi. Pełną obsługę transportową w transporcie zewnętrznym tzn. zakup środków i odbiór produktów preferuje 36,73% średnio i ich udział rośnie wraz z wykształceniem. Jest to 14,29% rolników z wykształceniem podstawowym i 67,14% z wykształceniem wyższym.

The paper presents the application of the Multiple Criteria Decision Aid/Making (MCDA/MCDM) methodology in the assessment of the development of different scenarios for an urban public transportation system (UPTS). This methodology allows considering several conflicting objectives and performing the evaluation process in a comprehensive manner. This approach also corresponds to the holistic philosophy: different aspects (economic, technical, social etc.) and interest groups – stakeholders (operators, passengers, city government etc.). The MCDA/MCDM methodology is specifically customized to the real life case study – urban public transportation system in the city of Cracow (Poland). A family of 10 criteria is proposed to evaluate several solutions (W) for a UPTS in terms of their usefulness and attractiveness for different stakeholders. These criteria take into account: travel time and standard, effectiveness of the fleet use, environment friendliness, the level of integration and reliability of the UPTS, safety and security, the profitability and availability of the UPTS, investment costs. Considering the possible solutions, the 6 alternatives were designed heuristically and compared with the current state (denotation of alternative W0). Based on the analysis, for the final considerations compared with the current alternative, 7 new solutions of the integrated urban public transportation in Cracow were adopted, denoted as: W1 (bus/rail alternative: integration of high-speed agglomeration rail with bus transportation), W2 (rail/tram/bus alternative: integration of high-speed agglomeration rail with tram and bus transport system), W3 (alternative with the underground: integration of the underground with high-speed agglomeration rail and with tram and bus transport system), W4 (tram/rail alternative: integration of high-speed agglomeration rail with tram transport), W5 (Tram alternative: integration of tram transport with bus transport), W5A (tram alternative: sub-alternative to the alternative W5, integration of tram transport), W6 (dual-mode tram alternative: integration of dual-mode tram transport). The variants of the scenarios for the urban public transportation system were generated by VISUM computer macro-simulation software. The computational experiment was carried out with the practical application of different Multiple Criteria Decision Aid/Making methods: AHP (Expert Choice program) and Electre III (software package Diviz).

The terminology and conceptual apparatus of modern logistics as a scientific discipline is far from being shaped. Researches and developers of legislative and norm-setting documents are obliged to use their own or barrowed terminology, in both case not shared ubiquitously. Consequently, the interpretations even of basic concepts differ significantly. In particular, there exists an academic and practical point of view that refuse the right for existence of the term “transportation logistics”. This clause is explained by the proclaimed omnipresence and universality of logistics, which has in its operational glossary the term “transportation”, treated as a local, subordinated and thus secondary function. This paper tries to set a decisive rule to distinguish between general logistics and transportation logistics, arguing that these two disciplines are well separated by the objects and methodology, knowledge and activities. In transportation logistics defined this way the authors examine two principal components of the transportation processes, storage (warehousing) and movement (shipping). This consideration lead to conclusions that the classical mathematical toolkit is not fitted for the design and management of modern global supply chains.

There are various methods for the searching of the optimal transportation network structure for specified transportation needs. Apart from the principle, each method requires the construction of the network model with some simplifying assumptions and approximations, what leads to discrepancies with reality. Even larger uncertainties are caused by using of the data predicted for the transportation needs in the future. Obtaining of any single transportation network structure is therefore not yet a solution. Its behavior additionally should be examined for the changed data to ensure that it remains optimal both now and in the future covered by the forecast.
Istnieją różne metody pozwalające na znalezienie struktury sieci transportowej optymalnej dla zadanych potrzeb transportowych. Niezależnie od zasady działania każda metoda wymaga budowy modelu sieci przy przyjęciu pewnych założeń upraszczających oraz dokonania przybliżeń, co prowadzi do rozbieżności z rzeczywistością. Jeszcze większe niepewności są skutkiem użycia danych prognozowanych dla potrzeb transportowych w przyszłości. Uzyskanie jakiejkolwiek pojedynczej struktury sieci transportowej nie jest zatem rozwiązaniem problemu. Należy dodatkowo zbadać jej zachowanie dla zmienionych danych, aby upewnić się, że pozostanie optymalną zarówno obecnie, jak i w objętej prognozą przyszłości.

In this paper the results of a questionnaire among students of private and public institutions of higher education in Opole and Wrocław on an assessment of the services of Polish State Railways (PKP) is presented. As almost 79% of the sample has a driver's license and almost 52% possess a car, while 65% of the students who do not possess a car would like to buy one as soon as possible, it can be expected that the demand for railway services by this group is likely to decline in the future. In general, car use is assessed more positively than train use. Interesting is the assessment of cost of useing car and train, which according to the respondents do not differ. Some factors that can be changed in order to keep the demand for PKP services at least at the same level are indicated. In some cases change can be (initially) expensive, e.g. increasing the number of connections. However, improvement of cleanliness is not always accompanied by an increase in costs.

It is an ingrown fsar to most travelers, frequent or not, to lose their baggage while flying from one destination to another, but if you take a look behind the scene you will experience a system with a complexity unlike most others. The baggage handling system (BHS) of an airport is just one link in a Song chain of processes your bag is going through. The BHS stretches from check-in or unloading of a plane on to the BHS (connecting flights), to it is collected at the gate and transferred to your flight. The conventional control software use a strategy primarily based on a shortest path algorithm, not taking into account dynamical changes or utilizing less packed areas of the system to increase capacity. We changed that perspective towards a ecentralized multi-agent based solution by developing strongty collaborating agents, to replace the original control software. The hierarchy of agents horizontally spans the system through local agents capable of altering the flow of totes, and vertica!ly through mediator agents, which have a global perspective andsupport decisions ofthe locoi autonomous agents. The local agents monitors their own local neighborhood for rising queues and other delaying factors, which aggregate to a status of the node, influencing the decision, of other agents trying to loute totes through this node. Interactions are handled as a combination of contract-nets, queries, and subscriber interaction schemes, which generalized the agent interfaces from the specific application. An agent-based approach not only improves robustness of the system, and utilize the entire BHS in n more convenient and dynamical way, it also include strategies for maximizing capacify of the system, which follows a work in-progress against capadty curve (WIPAC). In this paper we present the agent-based design of the control-software, and elaborate on the mutual colloboration compliant with the FIPA interaction schemes. We present ontologies used for sharing information and services among the agents as well as the results of our work for a major airport hub in Asia, and compare it against the traditional centralized strategies. We complete the paper by drawing same condusions and present ideas for future work.

Transportation and delivery play a vital role in the economy, an efficient transportation system has a determining role in it. Its importance is far more significant than what the transportation sectors proportionally represent. The ratio of transportation and warehousing, which belongs to the national economy sector H according to Unified Sectoral Clas-sification System of Economic Activities, in the total output of the Hungarian economy in gross added value of the national economy is 5.7%, its share in employment is 5.9%, and about 5% of active enterprises can be found in this sector (2010 data).

Electronic systems work in different conditions of exploitation. Because of specific nature of their application (such as transport for example), they should be characterized by a high level of coefficient of the readiness. When carrying out a proper reliability analysis of systems can be determined such reliability structures, which will be characterized by the appropriate values of rates of reliability. Such an approach provides to improvement of the reliability of the designed systems. However not to the full extent, it is not possible to achieve the system's readiness at the appropriately high level to the full extent. The paper presents a methodology to optimize the process of exploitation these systems, taking into account economic conditions, such as of financial expenses designed on periodical reviews and the effectiveness of their use. There is presented the dependence that maximizes the value of the coefficient of the readiness in the defined reliability (failures rate), exploitation (intensity of repairs, intensity of maintenance service) and economic conditions (financial outlays earmarked for periodic inspections).

There are few reasons why the railway reform failed in Poland. The most important reasons are lack of transport policy of the state, lack of stable financing systems and disproportions in government budget's expenditures on road and railway infrastructure. The state of polish railway is dramatic: the quality of railway infrastructure become worse and worse; lack of investments in railway rolling stock; breakdown of passanger transport; very little or even lack of financial engagement of the State. The conception of increased local government responsibility for local carriers was correct but not well-thoughtof. We don't know how many local government - PKP PR's enterprises shuld be established and how big should their territory range be. Additionally, the financing system based on local government's own incomes is not stabile. The Author postulates: return to budget subsidies for the regional carriers; reduction of the rates by PKP Polish Railway Lines JSC by around 15%; creation of a new subsidy for the railway infrastructure by the government. The structure of PKP PR should be also put in order, new divisions should be created there, whre local governement doesn't decide about the creation of enterprises. Finally - all the railway segment should be privatised.

This research aims at analyzing the optimum of low temperatures (12 ºC, 16 ºC, 20 ºC and temperature control (24 ºC)) used at the beginning of transport on the survival rates of goldfish juvenile (Carassius auratus L.), with the size of about 3 cm. Each time 20 goldfish is placed in 2 litres of water in transportation with closed systems for 8, 10 and 12 hours where the goldfish is transported at 21:00 pm. This research used an experimental method, Factorial Randomized Group Design, which consists of two factors that is, a four-level temperature factor and a three-level time factor and repeated three times. The parameters observed were the survival rate, water quality, duration of the process anesthesia, duration of the process recovery after transportation and pisciculture after transportation. The results showed the low temperature and time of transportation had a significant effect on the survival rate of goldfish (Carassius auratus L.) in transportation with closed systems. The optimum temperature and duration of time for transportation of goldfish (Carassius auratus L.) were: temperature of 16 °C and 12 hours of transportation time, with 98.33% survival obtained. This species of fish comes from the regions of Japan, South Korea, South-East China, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Philippines. Currently, this fish is found worldwide as a breeding copy.

Celem artykułu jest przegląd narzędzi zwiększających efektywność transportu kontenerowego oraz przedstawienie korzyści wynikających z integracji organizacyjnej przedsiębiorstw związanych z danym transportem jak również potencjalne korzyści wynikające z integracji systemów informatycznych przedsiębiorstw. Przedstawiono sposoby organizacji łańcucha dostaw, organizacji wewnętrznej przedsiębiorstw zajmujących się trans-portem kontenerowym oraz niektóre rozwiązania usprawniające operacje konieczne do obsługi kontenera. Zaprezentowano również wybrane problemy w transporcie kontenerowym oraz ich rozwiązania, które są obecnie stosowane.
The paper presents the trends and the functioning of sea-land container shipping. It reviews the tools that increase the efficiency of container transport and the benefits of enterprise- wide integration of transport-related businesses as well as the potential benefits of integrating enterprise information systems. The ways of organization of the supply chain, the internal organization of container transport companies and some solutions to improve the operations necessary to handle the container were presented as well as selected problems in container transport and their solutions, which are currently applied.

W artykule omówiono najważniejsze zagadnienia transportowe w kontekście przystąpienia Polski do Unii Europejskiej. Transport jest w nim traktowany nie jako oddzielna dziedzina, ale jako część systemu gospodarowania przestrzenią. Punktem wyjścia są wzrastające wraz ze wzrostem PKB przewozy osób i towarów (szerzej potrzeby transportowe). Skutkiem tego konieczny jest rozwój systemów transportowych, w szczególności infrastruktury transportowej. Rozwój ten winien uwzględniać dążenie do spójności terytorialnej Europy, zachowanie rynkowych reguł konkurencji przewoźników z równoczesnym sterowaniem podziałem zadań transportowych pod kątem rozwoju zrównoważonego. Narzędziem realizacji jest wspólna europejska polityka transportowa i stanowienie odpowiednich regulacji prawnych w tym dotyczących finansowania infrastruktury.
This paper contains a discussion of the most essential ransportation issues in the context of the Polish membership in the European Union. Transportation is treated here not as a separate industry, but rather as part of the spatial economy system. The starting point is the increasing transportation of people and cargo proportionally to the increase of GNP (indicated larger transportation needs). Consequently, further development of transportation systems is required, especially that of infrastructure. Such development should take into account the need of European territorial cohesion and observation of market competition 41 rules among transportation companies, with control over the subdivision of transportation tasks to attain sustainable development. The implementation instruments are the joint European transportation policy and the provision of proper legal regulations, including those concerning infrastructure financing.

As the energy sector worldwide is largely based on fossil fuel consumption, the amount of global-scale carbon emissions continues to increase over the years. One of the most important reasons for the increase in emissions, the transportation sector, continues to develop with globalization. The development of land, sea, and air transport together with international trade brings environmental problems in parallel with the increase in energy consumption. Accordingly, it is estimated that one fourth of total carbon emissions today originate from the transportation sector. In this context, in order to combat environmental problems such as global warming and climate change on an international scale, initiatives such as the Paris Climate Agreement are being implemented and environmental policies to reduce the amount of emissions are being recommended. The aim of this study is to examine environmental policies, which have been discussed extensively in the literature, in terms of fiscal policy. In this context, fiscal policy tools such as taxes, subsidies, incentives, and regulations specific to the transport sector were discussed. This study, in which the descriptive method is used, argues that fiscal policy practices can be an effective method in reducing the amount of carbon emissions.

According to ADR rules certain self-reactive materials of the class 4.1 as well as organie peroxides of the class 5.2 require to be transported in so called controlled temperatures, with the use of cooled means of transport, for which the particular stipulations have been formulated. This paper is an attempt to answer the ąuestion whether the mentioned stipulations can be met by vehicles applied in other specialist transport domains (for example, for cooled food transportation) and an attempt to formulate assumptions for design (and equipment) of universal categories of isothermal cooled vehicles designed only for transportation of materials of the class 4.1 and 5.2 in controlled temperatures. The paper presents as follows: a concept of controlled and emergency temperatures being derivatives ofso called self-accelerating decomposition temperature(TSR) of materials of the class 4.1 and 5.2, requirements concerning vehicles for transport in controlled temperature(including methods designated from R l to R5), technical requirements concerning realization ofcooling in methods from Rl to R5 (referring to transport chamber controlled temperature). The summary presents ready and final technical solutions concerning transport of dangerous materials in controlled temperatures.

The article presents an analysis of the economic and transport connections between the Łódź and Świętokrzyskie regions, in particular between Łódź and Kielce. Shortages in the railway network, which make it impossible to effectively use railway transport for both passenger and freight transport, were identified. An analysis was also performed concerning the use of opportunities arising from the course of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) through the territory of both regions. A program of necessary infrastructure investment was also proposed.

he research was conducted in order to determine the catalase, dehydrogenase, and arylsulfatase activities of soils exposed to transportation pollutants. The research material consisted of soil samples collected from points located along road no. 957 at a section passing through Zawoja (the Malopolska Region), from places at a distance of 5 and 200 m from the road edge. The samples were collected from a 0–10 cm layer, from areas covered with grasses. No considerable diversification in the enzymatic activity of the soils, depending on their distance from the road edge, was found. The mean activity of catalase and dehydrogenases in the soils located 5 m from the road edge was, respectively, 4 and 7% greater than the activity of the soils located 200 m from the road edge. The mean arylsulfatase activity in the soils located 5 m from the road edge was 3% lower than in the soils located at a distance of 200 m. A positive correlation was found between the catalase and arylsulfatase activities, and the dehy-drogenase activity in the soils.

In recent years, various types of commerce including transport have suffered significant damage and costs due to cyber-attacks. The geographic scope of freight transportation has no boundaries, attacks can be launched almost anywhere there is an Internet connection. Therefore, there is no immunity from the failure of computer systems and information of delivery processes in the networks of organizations and companies engaged in maritime transportation. In addition, while the consequences of cyber-attacks on major shipping lines and ports, as well as the digital systems of logistics companies, can be comprehensively analyzed, the vulnerability of ships remains insufficiently studied. This paper offers an analysis of the risks in the field of maritime freight transport and the main factors of influence such as digitization on the safety of the transport process. The basic threats to the information system of the ship are defined and the techniques of risk analysis for the ship information security is proposed.

Background: This study aims to shed light on risk-mitigating tools and strategies that can be used in third-party logistics (3PL) companies to increase performance. Risk and risk management tools are identified and classified according to the managers’ feedback and the theoretical background. The most important risks for the road transportation industry are analyzed, their implications are discussed, and mitigating strategies are offered. Methodology: The study used purposive sampling from international road freight forwarders that were members of the Association of International Forwarding and Logistics Service Providers (UTIKAD) or International Transporters' Association (UND). The data were collected by questionnaire method and analyzed with SPSS 22 and AMOS programs. Results: The results show that the road transportation industry has important risks that managers have not effectively managed. According to the results, the main problems in 3PL companies are lack of coordination, lack of visibility, and poor service quality. The results support that delivery risk directly affects transportation quality and process risks. Originality In this study, transportation-related risks are analyzed, showing their impact on a company’s overall processes. Additionally, we examine whether the transportation quality creates a mediation effect or information sharing has a moderation effect on a company’s process risks. Few studies exist on transportation risks and the role of mitigating strategies in reducing these risks, and this is also a limitation of our research from the risk perspective.

The article contains a description of the method supporting the organization of broken cargo transportation. The program, which uses the presented method allows the planning of transport including rail and inland waterways. Description of the computer program shows how to calculate the direct costs for transport modes and external costs of inland transport and probability to achieve throughput of individual sections of the waterway. An essential part of the description is providing a method for calculating the probability of the desired depth of the waterway, the continuous number of days needed to complete the task. The reported results were referred to data from the past. The program is intended for use by shipowners and shippers operating the inland waterways.
Referat stanowi opis metody wspomagania organizacji transportu łamanego. Program, który wykorzystuje przedstawianą metodę pozwala na planowanie transportu wodno-kolejowego. Opis programu komputerowego wskazuje sposoby obliczania bezpośrednich. jak i zewnętrznych kosztów transportu oraz sposób obliczania prawdopodobieństwa wystąpienia określonej głębokości drogi wodnej na jej poszczególnych odcinkach. Najważniejszą częścią referatu jest przedstawienie metody obliczania prawdopodobieństwa wystąpienia pożądanej głębokości drogi wodnej, przez ilość dni umożliwiająca wykonanie określonego zadania przewozowego bez konieczności przerywania procesu. Uzyskane wyniki zostały odniesione do głębokości drogi wodnej zarejestrowanej w przeszłości. Program może służyć armatorom, spedytorom i innym osobom planującym przewozy na polskich drogach wodnych.

W artykule omówiony został proces planowania drogowej operacji transportowej związanej z transportem ładunku szybko psującego się na przykładzie ładunku miękkiego truskawki świeżej, gatunek Honeoye, klasa jakościowa I, w ilości 12 ton [netto]. Trasa operacji przewozu rozpoczyna się w Pile (Polska-miejsce siedziby przedsiębiorstwa transportowego), odbiór ładunku w gospodarstwie rolnym w Buszkowie k. Koronowa, a rozładunek w hurtowni artykułów spożywczych Martin Olsson Cashar (Szwecja-Arsta pod Sztokholmem). Celem drugiej części artykułu jest przedstawienie charakterystyki przewożonego ładunku, charakterystyki jednostki ładunkowej, procesu planistycznego w obszarze wyboru technologii transportowej i technologii i systemów transportowych. Przewóz towarów łatwo psujących się jest trudnym zadaniem, dlatego planując przewóz takich towarów przewoźnik musi wziąć pod uwagę wiele czynników jak zakres temperatur przewożonego towaru, wilgotność powietrza, czas trwania przewozu oraz dobranie odpowiedniego środka transportu. Nieprzestrzeganie choć jednej z tych wytycznych może doprowadzić do zepsucia towaru, który nie będzie już nadawał się do spożycia i narazić konsumenta na niebezpieczeństwo, natomiast przewoźnika na ogromne straty finansowe.
The problem of proper road transport operation planning is a basic and optimal element of correct execution of transport order carried out by the transport companies. Reliability of carriers is visible in their choice of a proper transport technology and system. Research and analytical issues are addressed in three parts of the article. A significant logistic problem is shown on the basis of strawberries transport analysis in operational planning system. Carriage of perishable goods is a difficult task, that is why when a transport of such products is planned, the carrier needs to take into consideration factors such as: range of temperatures of given products, air humidity, duration of transport, choosing appropriate means of transport, but above all obeying restrictive legal regulations in the wider logistic chain of the flow of agricultural origin goods. Failure to respect at least one of the guidelines may lead to rotting of products, making them unfit for consumption, endanger consumer of goods and put the carrier at risk of financial losses.

An intelligent BRT system is necessary when communities looking for new ways to use high capacity rapid transit at a reduced cost. This paper will describe the intelligent control system that works with Datacenter. With the help of GPS system, the data center can monitor the situation of each bus and bus station. Through RFID technology, bus station and traffic light can transfer data with bus and by Wimax communication technology all of parts can talk together; data center learns all information about the location of bus, the arrival of bus in each station and the number of passengers in station and bus. Finally, the paper presents the case study of those theories in Tehran BRT.

Transport strategy in European Union supports public transport against individual transport. The reason is using of public transport is possible to fulfil all the goals of the EU strategy in the field of road safety. The paper deals with the issue of supporting public passenger transport and it is integration with the aim of ensuring the sustainable mobility of population. The aim of this paper is to identify the importance of public passenger transport and define method for creating effective integrated transport systems. The paper points to the importance of public passenger transport and the reasons why the population prefers cars. Based on the analysis, it is arguable that public passenger transport without mutual integration is not capable enough to compete with individual motoring. Contribution proposes the process integration of public passenger transport as a key elements in increasing road safety. Contribution confirms the hypothesis that the integration of public passenger transport and achieving a higher use of public passenger transport of population can contribute to improving of road safety.

IED (Improvised Explosive Device) – those special type of mines have occurred in the last decade with particular intensity in the recent Afghan conflict. Due to their structure and the use of large weights of explosives, the improvised explosive devices pose very high risk on any wheeled AFVs. There is a need to have some logistic solution, to security transport of damaged AFV. Polish army needs a new semi- trailer, which would be able to transport damaged AFV on it, from Afghan to Poland, by special cargo airplane, call "Rusłan". Although this paper does not cover mounting of the loaded flatbed to the deck of the aircraft, this subsection analyzes the way how the crew of AN 124-100 aircraft fixes the AFVs during the flight. This study is the result of the research and development project No.O R00 0085 12 "Ancillary flatbed for loading of damaged AFVs ROSOMAK on board of the plane." This paper presents the results from execution of the conceptual works related to the ancillary flatbed construction concept. The construction of technology demonstrator commences on the basis of a scientific and industrial consortium (Military Institute of Armour and Automotive Technology-Air Force Institute of Technology -CELTECH-HYDROMEGA).

Considering that the demand of tourism destination is variable on the scale of urban agglomeration, the selection process of travel destination is divided into two stages. The traditional transportation combination model based on the multinomial Logit cannot reflect this characteristic. And it is the lack of consideration of the influence of travel distribution and the dynamic transfer of passenger flow between various transport routes. Therefore, this thesis established a combination model of travel demand distribution and transportation assignment with two-stage terminal selection characteristics based on the nested Logit. Based on the analysis of tourists' trip process on the scale of urban agglomeration, a tourist flow transport network with travel destination nest structure is constructed. The generalized cost impedance function of transportation route is constructed based on the direct cost of transportation mode and the indirect cost of travel time. Based on the characteristics of two-stage destination selection of tourists, the form of travel distribution function of tourist flow is given. Through the first-order optimization conditions, it proved that the volume of travel distribution and tourism passenger transport assignment can meet the two-stage equilibrium conditions in the equilibrium state. Based on the idea of MSA algorithm, it designed the solution algorithm of the model and verified the feasibility of the model and algorithm in a simplified example. The calculation results show that the two-stage equilibrium assignment model proposed in this paper can obtain the volume of travel distribution and transportation assignment at the same time, meanwhile compared with the multinomial logit model, the nested Logit structure fully considers the attraction measure of the city destination and the scenic spot destination, which is more in line with the choice behavior of the tourists when choosing the transportation route. Thus, it provides a new comparable method for the optimal allocation of tourism passenger flow transport network resources on the scale of urban agglomeration, and can provide data support for the transportation organization plans of government decision-making departments and tourism transport enterprises.

W wieloasortymentowym zadaniu transportowym celem jest optymalizacja transportu kilku (co najmniej dwóch) dóbr od dostawców do odbiorców. W stochastycznej wersji zadania wielkości popytu poszczególnych odbiorców na poszczególne dobra są zmiennymi losowymi, a celem jest minimalizacja sumy kosztów transportu i wartości oczekiwanej dodatkowych kosztów związanych z realizacją dostaw w wielkości innej niż rzeczywista realizacja popytu. W uogólnionej wersji zagadnienia zakłada się ponadto, że ilości transportowanych dóbr zmieniają się w czasie transportu. W pracy przedstawiony został model zadania i zaproponowana metoda jego rozwiązywania.
In the multicommodity transportation problem the goal is to optimize the transport of several (at least two) goods from suppliers to destination points. In the stochastic version of the problem the demands of customers for individual goods are random variables, and the goal is to minimize the total costs of transportation together with the expected additional costs, depending on the difference between the supply size and the particular realization of the demand. In the generalized version of the problem we assume, moreover, that the amount of transported goods change during the transportation process. The model of the problem and the solution method have been presented in the paper.

Transportation, representing 6% of GDP, plays vital role in social and economic development of the Republic of Belarus. The purpose of this article is to present the geographic analysis of current spatial structure of the road transportation in Belarus in 2000-2014. The choice of transport mode for the article was influenced by several factors, such as historic development, network coverage, transformational changes in productivity, rapid increase in car ownership numbers, emergence of logistic centers and intelligent transportation systems. The article reviews the range of topics, including morphology of the major roads network, logistic centers spatial distribution and regional features of passenger and cargo productivity, discusses current transformational changes within the road transportation sector in Belarus. The key findings indicate that current changes in spatial structure of the road transportation in Belarus have uneven nature, shaped by social, economic, political and geopolitical external and internal factors and are a subject of interest for both transportation researchers and practitioners.

Trasa operacji przewozu rozpoczyna się w Pile (Polska) - miejsce siedziby przedsiębiorstwa transportowego), odbiór ładunku w gospodarstwie rolnym w Buszkowie k. Koronowa, a rozładunek w hurtowni artykułów spożywczych Martin Olsson Cashar (Szwecja–Arsta pod Sztokholmem). Artykuł składa się z czterech części. Wszystkie części prezentują elementy procesu planistycznego i przewozowego w transporcie drogowym pod względem prawnym, technicznym oraz ekonomicznym towaru szybko psującego się. Zostały zawarte w niej wszelkie informacje prawne dotyczące przewozu drogowego rzeczy oraz warunki jakie musi spełniać przewoźnik drogowy wykonując przewóz świeżych owoców miękkich. Scharakteryzowano pod względem technicznym i prawnym pojazdy do przewozu towarów szybko psujących się. Dokonano również charakterystyki procesu transportowego, technologii transportowych, systemów transportowych, analizę techniczno-ekonomiczną procesu oraz stworzono projekt technologiczny procesu przewozowego towaru uwzględniając wszystkie czynność towarzyszące temu procesowi.
The process of globalization fosters a growing need of transport. What is more, development of road infrastructure and construction of a dense network of routes leads to situation where road transport becomes a significant factor that improves economic growth of many countries. Delivery of goods to their final destination-“door to door principle”-makes road transport one of the most important branches of transport. Carriage of increasing number of goods and the development of free market economy led to emergence of many companies that provide shipping services. Goods are divided into groups which indicates what conditions are to be met by the carrier in order to carry out transportation. Perishable goods can be listed as one of such groups. The range and type of transported goods is very large from quick frozen products, through chilled products, to the ones that require heating. Carriage of perishable goods is a difficult task, that is why when a transport of such products is planned, the carrier needs to take into consideration factors such as: range of temperatures of given products, air humidity, duration of transport, choosing appropriate means of transport, but above all obeying restrictive legal regulations in the wider logistic chain of the flow of agricultural origin goods. The economical development of the world is based on transportation system. More than half of the products transported all over the world are carried by sea. Sea transportation is made with different kind of ships, as bulk carriers, cargo vessels, container ships, tankers. Ships are managed by people. In group or as individual, anybody can make errors. In maritime area these errors have as results accidents and disasters. Many of these events affect especially the environment. As 80% of necessary petroleum products are transported by sea, the risk of a major environment disaster caused by human errors is high. Anyway, over 99% of petroleum cargo transported by sea is carried without incidents. This paper presents the effects of human errors, mostly cases that involved tankers, which were produced in the navigation and operational processes.

The paper contains the analysis of the possibility of container transportation on the Oder Waterway (the Gliwice Canal, the canalized stretch of the Oder River, and the regulated stretch of the Oder River), on the assumption that the waterway complies with conditions of class III European waterway. The analysis is based on the concept of modern motor cargo vessel, adjusted to hydraulic parameters of waterway. The vessel is designed for ballasting when passing under bridges. The amount of ballast water that enables transportation of two tiers of containers is given. The costs of waterborne transportation are compared to the costs of rail transportation of containers on selected shipping routes.

Opis:
The study of the optimum distribution of goods between sources and destinations is one of the important topics in projects economics. This importance comes as a result of minimizing the transportation cost, deterioration, time, etc. The classical transportation problem constitutes one of the major areas of application for linear programming. The aim of this problem is to obtain the optimum distribution of goods from different sources to different destinations which minimizes the total transportation cost. From the practical point of view, the transportation problems may differ from the classical form. It may contain one or more objective function, one or more stage to transport, one or more type of commodity with one or more means of transport. The aim of this paper is to construct an optimization model for transportation problem for one of mill-stones companies. The model is formulated as a bi-criteria two-stage transportation problem with a special structure depending on the capacities of suppliers, warehouses and requirements of the destinations. A solution algorithm is introduced to solve this class of bi-criteria two-stage transportation problem to obtain the set of non-dominated extreme points and the efficient solutions accompanied with each one that enables the decision maker to choose the best one. The solution algorithm mainly based on the fruitful application of the methods for treating transportation problems, theory of duality of linear programming and the methods of solving bi-criteria linear programming problems.
Analiza optymalnej dystrybucji towarów pomiędzy punktem początkowym a końcowym jest jednym z ważnych zagadnień w ekonomice projektów. Ma to znaczenie jako wynik minimalizacji kosztów transportu, rozkładu przewozów, czasu, etc. Klasyczny problem transportowy stanowi jedno z głównych zagadnień programowania liniowego. Rozwiązaniem tego problemu jest uzyskanie optymalnej dystrybucji towarów z różnych źródeł do różnych punktów przeznaczenia, co minimalizuje całkowity koszt transportu. Z praktycznego punktu widzenia problemy transportowe mogą się różnić od problemów w formie klasycznej. Mogą one zawierać jedną lub więcej funkcji celu, jedną lub więcej tras, jeden lub więcej rodzajów towarów przewożonych za pomocą jednego lub więcej środków transportu. Celem artykułu jest stworzenie modelu optymalizacyjnego, który rozwiązuje problem transportowy dla jednej z firm przewozowych, specjalizującej się w przewozie kruszyw. Model jest sformułowany jako dwukryterialny, dwuetapowy problem transportowy w celu pozyskania zbioru ekstremów lokalnych oraz skutecznych rozwiązań związanych z takimi, które pozwalają osobie podejmującej decyzję wybrać te najodpowiedniejsze. Algorytm rozwiązania bazuje głównie na efektywnej aplikacji metod rozwiązywania problemów transportowych, teorii dualizmu programowania liniowego oraz metodach poszukiwania rozwiązań dwukryterialnych problemów programowania liniowego.

Opis:
This article stresses the need to develop multimodal passenger transport. Particular attention is paid to the construction of HUBs based on railway stations. HUB is the transport interchange node, passenger complex, which redistributes passenger flows between transport modes and directions. They allow to optimize transportation processes, as well as to create an infrastructure for convenient and fast passenger transfer between different transport modes. The preconditions for creating organizational conditions to ensure the sustainable development of the passenger railway transport sector are outlined. In the near future, combined passenger transport with the participation of several modes of transport will attract tourists from around the world. The authors’ concept of the term “passenger comfort zone” is proposed, which takes into account all the needs of modern tourists. The mechanism of multimodal transportations of passengers by railway transport in interaction with other participants of the servicing process is presented. A model of institutional support for the development of multimodal passenger railway transport is proposed to create conditions for integrated transport services for passengers by the passenger railway transport complex. The expediency of forming a system of railway passenger HUBs in Ukraine is vital to attracting investments to improve transport and tourism infrastructure, as well as to roll stock and a range of services for the benefit of all stakeholders in the transport sector (e.g., the state, investors, and passengers).

Providing safety and maintaining high quality of dry cargo, transported by sea, is associated with the necessity of taking into consideration their specific property, which is hygroscopicity. Susceptibility to the impact of water, which also occurs in vapour state, concerns mainly dry cargo, which are organic matter, containing carbohydrates and protein in their composition. This is because these substances have strong connection with water. The example of a bulk cargo often transported by sea is soybean meal, which is mainly produced in the USA, Brazil and Argentina. Due to its economic importance, the quality of soybean meal, which is globally used in the animal nutrition (poultry and swine), remains an important research issue. This product is obtained by subjecting the soybeans to cracking and dehulling processes, in order to facilitate the extraction of the oil. Water absorption of soybean meal causes reactions taking place in it, which leads to the changes in its chemical composition and, consequently, also in its nutritional values. Moreover, increasing the water content, leading to the increase of water activity, may significantly deteriorate the microbiological safety of the meal. Therefore, the research was undertaken to determine whether the sorption properties of soybean meal will change due to the influence of a static, homogeneous magnetic field. This aim has been achieved by determining and comparing the water vapour adsorption isotherms. The comparison of the isotherms determined under normal conditions and under the influence of a static, homogeneous magnetic field with an induction of 10 mT has been made on the basis of empirical data. Furthermore, using the Brunauer, Emett and Teller equation (BET), the monolayer and the energy constant of the sorption process have been estimated. The isotherms were determined at 20°C. The study lasted 9 days. Desiccators with aqueous supersaturated solutions of substances and a generator of a static magnetic field were used in the research. The obtained results have indicated that the influence of the magnetic field is a factor that causes the differentiation between the sorption properties of soybean meal expressed in the volume of the monolayer and the energy associated with the sorption phenomenon. The inferred findings show, that the magnetic field has an impact on the course of the sorption phenomenon in organic samples, and may determine the stability of the cargo during long-term maritime transport.

Transportation management is one of the areas that has strong impact on organization performance. If a company does not have expertise or resource, it would be better to outsource to logistics/transportation provider. The company can form contracts or hire trailers at spot rate. By forming a contract, specific number of trailers will be dedicated to the company and the cost per trip will be lower than the spot rate. However, there is a minimum number of trips requirement. If not properly managed, the company may end up paying more with the contract. The objective of this paper is to experiments with the simulation model to enable the manager to identify appropriate fleet size and negotiate for better contract condition, resulting in better on-time delivery and lower cost. The result shows that the company should increase the number of contracted trailers to match with the transportation needed and renegotiate the minimum number of trips per trailer per month. This will help the company significantly decrease late delivery and reduce costs. In addition, this study also use simulation model to plan for future contract negotiation when there are uncertainties in demand for transportation. Simulation model proves to be an important tool that enables one to gain better understanding of the contract situation and be able to manage the transportation contract that best suits the company’s objective.
Zarządzanie transportem jest jednym z obszarów, który ma silny wpływ na wydajność organizacji. Jeśli firma nie ma specjalistycznej wiedzy ani zasobów, lepiej zlecić usługi logistyczne / transportowe. Firma może zawierać umowy lub wynajmować przyczepy według stawki spot. Poprzez zawarcie umowy konkretna liczba naczep zostanie poświęcona firmie, a koszt przejazdu będzie niższy niż stawka kasowa. Istnieje jednak minimalna liczba podróży. W przypadku niewłaściwego zarządzania firma może ostatecznie zapłacić więcej z tytułu umowy. Celem tego artykułu jest eksperymentowanie z modelem symulacyjnym, aby umożliwić menedżerowi zidentyfikowanie odpowiedniej wielkości floty i negocjowanie lepszych warunków umowy, co skutkuje lepszą terminowością dostawy i niższymi kosztami. Wynik pokazuje, że firma powinna zwiększyć liczbę zakontraktowanych przyczep, aby dopasować je do potrzebnego transportu i renegocjować minimalną liczbę przejazdów na przyczepę miesięcznie. Pomoże to firmie znacznie ograniczyć opóźnione dostawy i obniżyć koszty. Ponadto w tym badaniu wykorzystano również model symulacyjny do planowania przyszłych negocjacji umów, gdy istnieje niepewność co do popytu na transport. Model symulacyjny okazuje się ważnym narzędziem, które pozwala lepiej zrozumieć sytuację kontraktową i być w stanie zarządzać umową transportową, która najlepiej odpowiada celowi firmy.

The text brings attention to the role and significance of examination of rock material in the first stone buildings from the beginning of the Polish state, primarily in Poznań, Ostrów Lednicki, Gniezno, Giecz and Łekno. The most part of the text is devoted to gypsum, which, after a technological processing, was used as mortar. The natural bassets of gypsum and its waterless variety, i.e., anhydrite, can be found in the village of Wapno near Wągrowiec. It was in Wapno where this raw material was exploited and transported to construction sites. Still open remains the question of the way of transportation of this raw material from the village of Wapno to Poznań, Ostrów Lednicki, Gniezno, Giecz and Łekno.

In the current research, we surveyed the effective factors of accidents that had occurred on the road from Hamadan to Sanandaj. Road transportation is an inseparable part and the backbone of all transportation networks of most countries. Driving accidents are considered the major problem of road transportation and the increment process of accidents is so that it has reached crisis proportions. Basically, in road accidents, three factors are considered to be of importance: human activity, road and vehicle condition. The current research is a field study in the terms of data collection method and is considered to be Applied Research in the terms of purpose (or objective) and studied subject nature. The study population consists of suburban public transport fleet drivers working the Sanandaj - Hamadan road (26 persons). The tool was a questionnaire. In order to analyze the statistical data, the resulting information from the questionnaires were firstly extracted and then analysed by applying the Pearson correlation test. The results show that there is a clear relationship between the effective factors of accidents and road accidents.
