Opis:
The first part of the article describes signs of a crisis of Christianity in the contemporary world. One can distinguished both the deepening of a crisis of faith and various threats, which have been very dangerous for Christians. Among many causes of the modern crisis of faith it should be pointed out the tolerance for pathologies, the triumph of atheistic philosophies, the anthropological reductionism, and the relativisation of personal evil. Apart from that in some countries in the world Christians have been persecuted and even put to death. It is necessary to take into account this general context if one would like to take into consideration the problem of the necessity of common witness on Christ and the cause of the lack of Christian Unity. Today, as the Author ascertain in the second part of his text, it is impossible to deal with ecumenical matters without relating them to various factors influencing on the situation of Christianity in the world. As it is evident, so far the full Eucharistic Fellowship has not been reached by the ecumenical dialogue. Practically, a greater part of agreements of theological dialogues have not got reception on the parish level. There is no common Christian language, which could be commonly used, what it points out to a deep disagreement about the Truth. From the Orthodox point of view unity is to be understood not as a mere administrative arrangement and a human achievement, but as a manifestation of grace and as the fullness of the new life which renews the earth-born and the whole of their world. In order to understand why the Christian unity is so difficult to acquire it is necessary to look at the Church of Christ as a personal community in resemblance of the Holy Trinity as the community of the Divine Persons. The Author in the third part of the article underlines that the Trinitarian relations between God the Father, the Son of God and the Holy Spirit consist the most perfect pattern for relations between human persons in the fellowship of the Church. From such a point of view the Church is not an occasional ‘happening’, where the Word of God is preached and listened to and the sacraments are performed, but as the reality of sonship in the Spirit, that is, as a constant movement of filial grace from the Father, giving his Son to us in the Spirit, and as a return of this by us, ‘giving grace’ to him by offering back to him his Son in his incarnate, sacrificial and risen state as the head of a body comprising all of us and all that exists. The fourth part of the article refers to a question of the unity of the Church and understanding of truth. The problem of understanding of truth in the Church may be expressed in the following question: How can we hold at the same time to the historical nature of truth and the presence of ultimate truth here and now? For an answer to this question it can be very helpful to look at the Greek Fathers, both their failures and their success, in arriving at an understanding of truth which might have meaning for a person of Greek mentality, without betraying or distorting the message of the Bible. Their spiritual and intellectual contribution has been essential for a reflection on the relation between truth and salvation. They underlined that human person as the whole (not only his reason, but all functions of his intellect in connection to soul and body) was committed into the process of learning truth. Therefore bodily ascetism in the Church is one of essential conditions of approach to truth, the supreme road to theological knowledge. It is not possible for human being to come to know the truth of life, the truth of God and the truth of his own existence purely through intellectual categories, relative analogies and conventional expressions, because they give only a relative and conventional knowledge. Knowing God is possible only in Christ, who as the personal Truth has been the source of all truths. In order to know Christ as Truth it requires opening for His presence not only on the level of reason, but approaching Him in ones intellect, soul and body. Particularly, the change of the intellect (Gr. μετάνοια) is very important on the way toward the uniting Truth. There are some important conclusions, indicated in the final part of the article, resulting from the Christian understanding of the uniting Truth for ecumenical endeavors. Particularly important is not to treat the doctrinal ecumenism solely as an intellectual convergence process in separation from all that, what constitute the life of the Church of Christ. One has to remember that notions taken from kataphatic theology should be supplemented by notions from apophatic theology, because the knowledge of God is knowing the Unknowable. Striving for the unity of Christians, similarly to striving for the unity of a human person in relation to God, requires the change of intellect, by the attention (Gr. προσοχή), watchfulness (Gr. νῆψις), prayer, the Liturgy and ascetism.

The article describes the basic types of pictorial representations of the Holy Trinity. The Old Testament prefiguration of the Trinity that became a type scene is the so-called „Hospitality of Abraham”. This is the variant of the „Trinity” used by Andrew Rublev. The „New Testament Trinity” represents such topics as „Fatherhood” and the „Common Throne”. The revelation of the Trinity as a whole is also evident in icons depicting scenes from Christ’s life, such as the icons of the Nativity, Baptism, Transfiguration on Mount Tabor, where each of the divine persons is manifested in a different way. God the Father is revealed as the sphere of heaven located in the upper part of the image, the Son of God is manifested in human flesh, and the Holy Spirit is depicted in the form of a dove, or a radiant cloud (mandorla). Numerous compositions also make use of the symbol of a triple beam, which stresses the Trinitarian nature of the depicted scene. The formation of epiphanic representations of the Trinity was influenced not only by the realities revealed in the text of the Scripture, but also by the tenets laid down at the Councils of Nicaea in 325 and Constantinople in 381. Trinitarian terminology was also developed by Eastern and Western theologians such as Basil the Great, Greogory of Nazianus, Hilary of Poitiers, Ambrose of Milan, Augustine of Hippo.

The author shows the use of the concept of person in determining the essence of the Holy Trinity and the influence of this category on doctrinal and pastoral activities of the Church. The most important conclusion that results from this paper is that renewing the Church, and renewing the faith of the Church can only take place on condition of acknowledging the direct, that is personal, presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of each believer and in the Church community. This conclusion is postulated on the basis of an in-depth study of the development of the concept of person in Trinitarian theology.

This paper describes the concept developed by the deification of man from Mount Athos theologian Gregory Palamas (d. 1359) and its effect on the color icon fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. The concept teosis influenced primarily to provide light in the paintings. Under the influence of theology of Palamas remained above all the greatest icon painters in Rus-forming, such as Greek Teofan (†1410) and Andrew Rublev (†1430). Not only ascetics in prayer wanted to see and experience the divine light, which he wrote Palamas. Also, the artists portrayed in the paintings of light with certain colors mainly gold, white and luminous colors. Painters usually avoid dark colors and uses light colored, cheerful color palette. However, when they wanted to show the inscrutability of God's essence then painted in shades of light blue or dark green. In particular, see this luminous envelope around the body of Christ on the "Transforming the Lord." Important are the differences between these two artists' paintings. While the great Greek often narrowed the color palette to two colors (white and brown), the Rublev used a wide range of color and atmosphere created in the image of joy and transfigured world. Teofan rapidly poured light on the icon, and the whole tone of the work remained in monochromatic tones. Do not apply more complicated means of artistic expression and favored simplicity. Rublev entire plane while the works of light to penetrate evenly, which is painted with subtle and delicate colors. In this way, expressed the confidence and the hope of seeing the divine light and the world transformed under the influence of divine energies.

The mystery of the Trinitarian God is not a theological puzzle, or an intriguing but distant bit of information about God that has no real bearing on our daily life. The faith in the Trinity creates the general spiritual environment in which Christians can live. To keep Trinity in the heart of the Christian faith, it must be treated seriously. It must be defined as the belief in a real Trinitarian God, who wanted to present Himself to humanity in this way. This postulate that is often called „a Trinitarian turn” imposes two main tasks on its followers: Firstly, to consolidate the whole variety of theological expositions in the light of the Trinitarian truth. Secondly, to find common grounds for the Trinitarian truth and the Christian and, generally, human experience. Realizing both tasks enlivens the perception of the Holy Trinity as a foundation for the perception and interpretation of the Christian doctrine, the totality of human life and of the universe.

This article is about the Trinitarian theology of St. Ambrose of Milan concluded in De fi de, the most important and most complex bishop’s work of dogmatic. It focuses in particular on the innovative and original aspects of the theological thought of the Father of the Church. The fi rst point is given status quaestionis of Ambrosian theology. In the past, used to be attributed to Ambrose opinion good “politics” church, but poor theologian. More recent studies show one-sidedness of this opinion. In the second section are therefore discussed the aspects of Trinitarian theology Doctor of the Church, which show the specifi city and originality of his theological refl ection. They include: a new understanding of the role of the Emperor in matters of religion; relationship between faith and ecclesial interpretation of Scripture, the new interpretation of the term homoousios used by the Council of Nice, a development theme of unity of the Trinity by reference to the unity of the nature and operation of divine Persons, and not only in based on the idea arché, deepening the understanding of the mystery of the Incarnation; Christ as the center of Ambrosian spirituality, and fi nally, the relationship between faith in the Holy Trinity and the unity of the Church. In light of these issues emerges own and original theological “personality” of Bishop of Milan, and in this way it becomes possible to more comprehensive assessment of and appreciation for his contribution to the refl ection of the Trinity.

To talk about God’s love is to talk about God Himself, because “God is love” (1 John 4:8). God’s love for men is, in the teaching of John Paul II, the foundation of the papal proclamation. Its source is the inner love of the Holy Trinity. The present article discusses the statement of St. John, who says that “God is love” (1 John 4:8). This statement speaks of the essence of God in the aspect of Trinity’s inmost being and in terms of the economy of salvation. The article also takes up the issue of love of the Father and of the Son, and the question of the Holy Spirit as the Love of the Father and the Son. The Third Person of God, coming from the Father and the Son, is the Breath of Their mutual Love.

The Second Vatican Council in the Constitution Lumen gentium shows the mystery of the Church in relation to the Holy Trinity. In the perspective as the fruit of love which unites the Father with the Son within the Trinity: just on the strength of this love the Father wanted to unite all creation in his Son. Mysterium Ecclesiae arises therefore Mysterium Trinitatis by. Also in the Decree on the Missionary Activity of the Church defined it: ”The Church is missionary by nature since its origin in the mission of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, according to the plan of God the Father” (AG 2). With this statement the Council has identified in its essence the missionary dimension of the Church, and it reaffirmed that the preaching of the Gospel to all men is the main task of the Church – salvation.

In the paper, the attention is paid to the greeting directed to the readers of the Revelation in the passage 1:4-7. Its structure suggests that its source is not John who wrote the Book, but the Gog who presents Himself as a unity of three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. The greeting focused most on Jesus Christ, his exceptional love towards humans and his mssion. Along with his appearance on the Earth, the process of bringing people back to God started. Monotrinitarian greeting introduces the reader to the reality of the eschatological future which would have been horrible if not the fact of limitless love and care expressed in the greeting.
W artykule zwrócono uwagę na pozdrowienie skierowane do czytelników Apokalipsy św. Jana w wersetach 1,4-7.

Ratzinger shows christological specificity of Christian prayer against the background of the universal phenomenon of prayer based on existential imperative of human transcendental search for sense and longing for the Other. First of all, it consists not so much in the specific spiritual practice as a moral duty, as it has an ontological source. Jesus convinces of that on the pages of the Gospel, when He reveals the very essence of intertrinitary relations in His man’s prayer (both in its content and form) to His Father. The essential relationship between love and submission, adoratio and proskynesis, expressed by the filial communion with the Father’s will, also in the time of death, is a salutary ‘yes’ for us of God’s promises and defines what human piety actually is. Christian prayer consists in participating in the prayers of Jesus and – as such – it constitutes the foundation and essential experience of the Church.

The discussion, from which the Antitrinitarians arguments were quoted, became very well known among European theologians and philosophers, mainly due to the reputation which was decades later enjoyed by Leibniz. The discussion became known in Germany thanks to Lessing who was an editor and commentator of the dispute about the Holy Trinity as well as an advocate of tolerance, and a German writer of the Enlightenment.

Eugenii.
Interest in icons that can be seen in the Western World during some last decades caused that new compositions come into existence. One of them is the icon of God the Father presenting a youthful carefreeness figure sitting on the throne. Lia Glandiolo – the author – justifies her inventive depiction pointing to the revelations of Mother Eugenia Rasavio. Due to the fact that the content of the revelations has been printed and widespread, the icon gains more and more popularity. Its innovative form leans however to reflection: may it stay within the range of the Christian iconographic tradition? In the article, the author – referring to Sister Eugenia’s revelations – tries to present the critical analysis of this icon in the light of Eastern and Western Christian art.

Opis:
Kontynuację tych starań podjęli Ojcowie Kościoła, następnie sobory i całe Magisterium, aż do czasów nam współczesnych (m.in. H. Mühlen), kiedy to próbowano odnajdywać istotne wskazania dla wspólnoty małżeńskiej wynikające z prawd odkrywanych dzięki Trójjedynemu.
The central truth of Christian revelation is that absolutely prime are the Three Divine Persons including their mutual adherence and unity. Their communion constitutes the essence, archetype of all realities and it is something according to what everything should be shaped. The awareness of the Three Divine Persons mystery was consummated centuries ago and has gone through different courses of human intellect investigation. At the beginning the efforts of human intellect and faith are considered, traces of which can be found as early as in The Old Testament, and then in The New Testament. The continuation of these efforts was undertaken by the Fathers of the Church, then councils and all Magisterium until contemporary times (H. Mühlen), when there were attempts to discover essential directions for matrimonial union, resulting from truths discovered thanks to The Trinity.
