The article is dedicated to a study of interiorization strategies of the biblical texts in the rock poetry by Grebenshchikov (based on the Book of Songs BG, Moscow 2006). This reveals Grebenshchikov’s specific strategies of the interiorization of an “alien” word. Through the “alien” word in poetry, the author studies Grebenshchikov’s model of the world and reveals the creativity of BG.

Opis:
The article addresses the theme of unorthodox saints in Graham Greene’s novels – Brighton Rock and The Power and the Glory and also deals with the author’s attitude to religious problems, particularly his views on salvation and damnation. There is also a discussion of the question whether the title of “a Catholic writer” has been rightly used in Greene’s case. The first part of the paper presents the character of the whisky-priest from The Power and the Glory. Particular attention has been paid to the author’s use of two perspectives upon the figure of the priest: one shows the character in his mundane existence, with all his human weaknesses and vices, whereas the other view stresses the character’s moral and religious superiority which testifies to his sainthood. This point is argued with numerous references to the Bible and to the philosophy of Charles Peguy which underline the martyrdom of the sinful priest and his similarity to Jesus Christ. The second part of the article focuses on the figure of Rose from Brighton Rock, highlighting a contrast between the weakness of her character and the strength of her convictions. The fact that she is torn between good and evil has been pointed out as well as the power of her feelings which is the reason of both her fall and her salvation. Similarly to the analysis of The Power and the Glory, references to the Bible and to Peguy’s philosophy have been used in order to underline Rose’s motivation which was rooted in her love of God. The final part of the article presents similarities between the two characters; what they have in common is both a human, sinful nature as well as the ability to offer superhuman love and self-sacrifice. The conclusion of the article underlines the fact that although both characters have sometimes acted in the ways questioning the principles of faith and the teaching of the Church, they can be perceived as saints because of the superiority of their morality with regard to their love of God and love of their neighbours whose good they put above their own.

Struktura złoża rud miedzi w LGOM daje możliwość zbudowania uproszczonego modelu opisującego wzajemne oddziaływanie warstw stropowych oraz ich obniżenie. Nad złożem zalegają generalnie dwa kompleksy warstw, które ze względu na miąższość i wartości parametrów odkształceniowych, można podzielić na dwie warstwy stropowe: strop bezpośredni i strop zasadniczy W sytuacji rozwiniętej eksploatacji strop bezpośredni stanowi belka (płyta) oparta o złoże (w części przed frontem eksploatacyjnym) i o filary (za frontem). Od góry belka jest obciążona nadkładem w postaci pionowej składowej p/z tensora naprężenia pierwotnego. Zarówno cały górotwór, strop jak i złoże, charakteryzują się własnościami ośrodka sprężystego, które opisują: współczynnik odkształcalności podłużnej E warstwy stropowej, współczynnik odkształcalności poprzecznej n. W pracy przedstawiono koncepcję modelu opisującego powstanie i propagację szczeliny zniszczenia w przekroju belki stropu zasadniczego, w którym występuje koncentracja tensora naprężenia. Szczelina zniszczenia powstaje w wyniku działania dwóch par sił o tej samej wartości momentu zginającego oraz o przeciwnych znakach (rys. 1). Jako model wyjściowy przyjęto belkę obustronnie utwierdzoną i obciążoną ciężarem warstw nadległych oraz ciężarem własnym. Model odnosi się do rzeczywistej sytuacji rozpoczynania eksploatacji nowego pola.
The article is continuation of the research works concerning the principal and direct roof strata deflection above the deposit mined by means of the chamber - pillar system with roof deflection in the exploitation conditions of the copper deposits in LGOM. A model of the roof deflection and the solutions of the equations of the beam's axis deflection have been shown in the earlier papers. In this paper has presented the function of the deflection of the roof in the conditions of propagation the slit, has been generated by moment of the couple of forces application in the middle of the beam.

This article concerns new sub-discipline of science media, ie. music and media journalism. Its primary purpose is to analyze texts forming rock artists in the 80s, and for the fight against the regime of PRL, totalitarianism, slavery societies and individuals by the Communist system. Another equally important aspect, especially in the perspective of music media studies, is systematization of Polish rock in the decade of 80, which – contrary to popular belief - was not a uniform phenomenon. As a result of review of these two issues, we were able to establish a very interesting implication (broader: the socio-political context), namely the relationship between the intensity and the forms of contestation of socialism and then authorities (including power in genere) by representatives of the various strands of rock and typology established intra-musical.
Artykuł dotyczy nowej subdyscypliny nauk o mediach, tj. dziennikarstwa i mediów muzycznych. Jego podstawowym celem jest analiza tekstów artystów rockowych tworzących w latach 80., a dotyczących walki z reżymem PRL-u, totalitaryzmem, zniewoleniem społeczeństwa i jednostek przez system komunistyczny. Drugim, nie mniej istotnym aspektem pracy, zwłaszcza w perspektywie badań nad mediami muzycznymi, jest usystematyzowanie polskiego rocka w dekadzie lat 80, który – wbrew powszechnemu mniemaniu - nie był zjawiskiem jednorodnym. W rezultacie zestawienia tych dwóch zagadnień, udało się ustalić bardzo ciekawą implikację (o szerszym: społeczno-politycznym kontekście), a mianowicie zależność pomiędzy intensywnością oraz formami kontestacji socjalizmu i ówczesnych władz (także władzy in genere) przez reprezentantów poszczególnych nurtów rocka a ustaloną typologią wewnątrz-muzyczną.

Artykuł ten składa się z dwóch części – w pierwszej omówiono rolę muzyki hardrockowej metalowej (szeroko rozumianych) w strukturze najbardziej opiniotwórczego pisma muzycznego po 1989 r., tj. „Tylko Rocka”, zaś w drugiej badania ogniskowały wokół analizy zawartości miesięcznika pod względem tytułowych gatunków, ale w optyce genologii. W tekście wykorzystano istniejące dane statystyczne, opracowania oraz oczywiście materiały źródłowe. Metodologicznie i merytorycznie – w węższym zakresie publikacja wpisuje się w dwa nowe nurty: Metal Music Studies (humanistyka) oraz Dziennikarstwo i media muzyczne (nauki społeczne, nauki o mediach), a w szerszym rozumieniu w badania ilościowo-jakościowe (w tym analiza strukturalna). Przeprowadzone badania pokazały, że muzyka metalowa była konstytutywnym aspektem problematyki poruszanej w skądinąd formalnie stricte rockowym piśmie, a w niektórych elementach nawet wiodącym.
This article is composed of two parts. The first discusses the role of metal hardrock music (broadly understood) in the structure of the most opinion-making music magazine after 1989, ie „Only Rock”, and in the second study focused on analyzing the content of the monthly magazine in terms of title genres, but in the optics of genology. The text uses existing statistical data, studies and, of course, source materials. Methodologically and substantively – in a narrower sense, the publication encompasses two new streams: Metal Music Studies (humanistic) and Journalism and Music Media (social sciences, media studies), and in broader terms quantitative and qualitative research (including structural analysis). The research showed that metal music was a constitutive aspect of the subject matter in a strictly formal rock writing, and even some of the leading elements.

Istotą artykułu jest ocena 45 lat powojennej Polski, wyłaniająca się z prasy rockowej, zarówno bezpośrednio po upadku komunizmu, jak i w latach późniejszych. Pisma popularyzujące rock oraz pokrewne mu gatunki, wbrew pozorom, nie zawężały tematyki wyłącznie do zagadnień muzycznych, stąd długo wyczekiwane przez społeczeństwo odzyskanie wolności, w tym słowa czy druku, niemal automatycznie wywołało na ich łamach potrzebę konfrontacji z minioną epoką. Swoje opinie odnośnie do przeszłości wyrażały redakcje, publicyści, felietoniści, komentatorzy, których oryginalny styl oraz barwny język stanowiły urozmaicenie podstawowych treści, z dzisiejszej zaś perspektywy – dodatkowe źródło informacji o PRL, transformacji i początkach III Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej
The article’s essence was the assessment of 45 years of the Polish People’s Republic, emerging from the rock press, both immediately after the fall of communism and in later years. Contrary to appearances, magazines popularizing rock and its related genres did not limit their topics to musical issues; for this reason, the long-awaited regaining of freedom, including the freedom of speech, also in print, almost automatically triggered the need to confront the past era. Editors, publicists, columnists, and commentators, whose original style and colourful language enriched the content, presented their opinions, thus providing – from today’s perspective – an additional source of information about the Polish People’s Republic, the transformation and the beginnings of the Third Republic of Poland.

W artykule podjęto próbę interpretacji aspektów performatywnych śpiewu i tekstów piosenek Nicka Cave’a oraz autorstwa gitarzysty Rowlanda Stuarta Howarda (1959–2009), a także Micka Harveya, Vincenta Eugene’a Craddocka (znanego jako Gene Vincent) i Billa Davisa (właściwie: William Douchette) z albumu śpiewającego pianisty z grupą The Birthday Party The Birthday Party (1980). Studium, wpisując się w nurt rock song lyrics studies, jest recepcyjnym śladem i refleksją nad początkami drogi twórczej wybitnego autora tekstów piosenek oraz kompozytora muzyki rockowej i wokalisty, obdarzonego interesującym głosem. Teza prezentowanej pracy jest następująca: pochodzący z Australii wokalista od pierwszych nagrań z zespołem The Boys Next Door (płyta Door, Door z roku 1979) pisze utwory o miłości, bólu i samotności, a przede wszystkim każdy kolejny krążek autora Into My Arms to zapis doświadczenia tęsknoty, nie inaczej jest zatem i w przypadku omawianego tutaj albumu, który wyraża żal i smutek – uczucia autora/piosenkarza, „ja” opowiadającego/śpiewającego, persony tekstowo-muzycznej, czy inaczej mówiąc – piosenkowego podmiotu performatywnego. Śpiew Nicka Cave’a można określić jako metaforę habitusu punkowych miniatur piosenkowych, będących tekstowymi i głosowymi ekspresjami buntu, w których dominuje ironia, konstytutywną zasadą poetyki tych utworów zaś jest groteska.
This article attempts to interpret the performative aspects of Nick Cave’s singing and song lyrics written in collaboration with the guitarist Rowland Stuart Howard (1959–2009), Mick Harvey, Vincent Eugene Craddock (also known as Gene Vincent) and William Douchette (also known as Bill Davis). I focus specifically on the album The Birthday Party (1980) which Nick Cave recorded together with his band The Birthday Party. This analysis, representative of rock song lyrics studies, is a receptive trace and a reflection on the beginnings of this outstanding songwriter, rock musician, and singer’s career. I argue that the Australian singer, beginning with the first recordings with the band The Boys Next Door (Door, Door from 1979), writes about love, pain, and loneliness, and show how each new album by the author of Into My Arms records the experience of longing. The Birthday Party, therefore, is no different; it expresses regret and sadness – the feelings of the author/singer, the narrating/singing “I,” the lyrical and the musical persona or, in other words, the singing and performing subject. Cave’s signing is a metaphor for the habitus of punk song miniatures, which are lyrical and vocal expressions of rebellion, filled with irony, while the main principle of the poetics of these works is the grotesque.

W artykule przedstawiono stan wypadkowości w kopalniach rudy miedzi w okresie 2007-2018 r., ze szczególnym zwróceniem uwagi na wypadki spowodowane zawałami, obwałami, opadami skał ze stropu i ociosów wyrobisk korytarzowych i eksploatacyjnych, zabudowanych obudową kotwową oraz wyrobisk niezabudowanych. Opisano genezę tego zagrożenia oraz podejmowane działania profilaktyczne, w oparciu o obowiązujące przepisy górnicze w tym zakresie. Na podstawie opisanych niebezpiecznych zdarzeń w postaci zawałów, obwałów i opadów skał ze stropu i ociosów oraz skutków tych zdarzeń w postaci wypadków śmiertelnych i ciężkich, zwrócono uwagę na przyczyny geologiczno-górnicze i błędy ludzkie polegające między innymi na nieprzestrzeganiu obowiązujących przepisów górniczych w tym zakresie.
This article presents the state of accidents in copper ore mines in the period 2007-2018, with particular attention being paid to accidents caused by roof falls, rock slides and rock falling off the roof and side walls of dog heading galleries and mining headings with and without rockbolt support system. This paper describes the genesis of these hazards as well as preventive actions undertaken, based on applicable mining regulations in this area. On the basis of hazardous events described herein, such as roof falls, rock slides and rock falling off the roof and side walls and their consequences, involving fatal and serious accidents, attention was paid to geological and mining causes and human errors consisting, among other things, in failure to comply with applicable mining regulations in this area.

The foundations of pop-culture revolution in music were laid with various elements of different subcultures and traditions, resulting in a universal ethos of ethnic and class exclusion. The reception of early rock and roll was shaped by racial politics inasmuch as the unification of music was preceded by a profound social and cultural segregation. However, the ‘black’ origins of rock and roll need to be supplemented with a ‘white’ element – the socially and class-wise marginalised ‘hillbillies’. The history of pop as a homogenising language of musical emotions cannot ignore the complex identity of ‘white’ musicians and music producers from Memphis interested in ‘black’ inspirations and shaped by the perspective of their own ‘culture of scarcity’. Elvis Presley is a symptomatic example of a relationship between ‘white’ rock and roll and class exclusion. Both the musicians and audiences of early rock culture, regardless of the colour of their skin, were members of a disadvantaged group. Featuring as an aggressive prototype of a rocker on stage, Elvis inadvertently became their tribune. His radicalism echoed in the genetic mix of his songs from across a variety of genres and types. He was a mimetic model setting a direction for the emancipation of both ‘whites’ and ‘blacks’. This was the first time when teenagers disobeyed the adult culture so openly and explicitly. Presley’s song-writing also coincided with society’s melancholic reintegration with the officially repudiated traditions, helping young people move beyond the existing divides towards a greater unity.

W artykule przedstawione zostały wyniki analiz stateczności górotworu w otoczeniu pustki zlokalizowanej na małej głębokości w aspekcie występowania powierzchniowych deformacji nieciągłych. Podjęte analizy dotyczyły terenu górniczego jednej z górnośląskich kopalń, gdzie w przeszłości na niedużej głębokości prowadzono roboty górnicze. Deformacje wywołane robotami górniczymi określone zostały przy użyciu programów opartych na metodzie różnic skończonych (MRS) oraz teorii W.Budryka - S.Knothego. W wyniku obliczeń przeprowadzonych za pomocą tych programów określone zostały wartości składowych tensora odkształcenia, na podstawie których obliczono następnie wartości odkształceń głównych i wartości oktaedrycznych odkształceń postaciowych. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników dokonana została ocena możliwości wystąpienia stanu granicznego w górotworze w otoczeniu pustki w oparciu o hipotezę odkształceniową.
This paper presents the results of analyses aiming at the determination of the stability of rock mass surrounding shallow void, with connection to sinkhole formation hazard. The analyses have been performed for the mining area of the one of the Upper Silesian coal mine, where mining works were led at shallow depths. Deformations caused by mining works have been determined by the use of the finite difference method (FDM) as well as the W.Budryk-S.Knothe theory. At first, the components of strain tensor were calculated, then the principal and octahedral strains determined. On the basis of the obtained results, the evaluation of the possibility of limit state occurrence was performed in the vicinity of the void, taking into account strain-based failure criteria.

The author explores the ideologization of human space on the example of the place known as Saint John under the Rock in Czechia. This place has a long and rich tradition, also written one, and is tightly bound with Czech identity, not only local but also national. The oldest mentions about the place appear in medieval manuscripts that describe it as one of the most mysterious and sacred. Religious tradition connected with the place serves as an example of the diversity of Czech approaches to faith. For the history of the place was extremely turbulent and its owners usually used it as a tool of cultural appropriation and ideological interest, Saint John under the Rock proves how desired traditions were shaped. To discuss Czech tradition, the author employs the metaphor of “geological layers.” Although all the layers − the Christian, the secular, and even the communist tradition − compose Czech identity, their interpreters analyze them in separation. They detach the layer of tradition that does not fit their perspective. Hence, the place under analysis reveals a battle for identities that aims to establish the dominant layer of tradition. In this article, I seek to unveil the game of contradicting narratives to show how a place so deeply plunged in Czech tradition is abused to represent only a part of the “right” tradition.

The rock relief discovered in Rag-e Bibi in Northern Afghanistan in 2002 remains an archaeological sensation. The archery equipment depicted there has not yet been studied. The article describes the bow cases combined with quivers and associates them with the same type of kit popular in Eurasia related with spread of the recurved bows with stiff bone or horn extensions of Xiong Nu/Hunnictype. This type of bows replaced shorter 'Scythian' type of bows in 1st-2nd century CE. The integrated bow case and quiver went out of use soon before the rise of the Sasanians therefore Rag-e Bibi cannot be linked with this dynastic art, based also on the depicted elements of material culture, as well as on stylistic grounds.

The method of unconventional solid rock loosening with undercutting anchors and the literature analysis of the problem are presented. The tests and test results of the rocks loosening process with a fixed undercutting anchor are described. The tests were carried out within the RODEST project, OPUS 10 competition No. 2015/19/B/ST10/02817, financed by the National Science Centre. Numerical modeling process as well as a series of laboratory and in situ tests were carried out. The test stand equipment and methodology for the in situ tests are presented. The tests were conducted in four mines, which allowed to obtain and determine the following characteristics: 1. loosening force as a function of anchoring depth (for a given type of rock), 2. the range of rock loosening in a function of anchoring depth (for a given type of rock), and 3. loosened rock volume as a function of anchoring depth (for a given type of rock). The in situ test results are compared with the concrete capacity design (CCD) model used for the calculation of anchor load capacity in concrete.

Five rock reliefs surviving in Persis/Fārs province in southern Iran represent the victories of Shāpūr I (241–272 AD), the second Sasanian King of Kings (Šāhānšāh), over the Roman Empire. The three Roman Emperors depicted on these reliefs have traditionally been identified as Gordian III (238–244), Philip I – known as ‘the Arab’ – (244–249) and Valerian I (253–260). From the 1960s onward, new interpretations are presented. In the most recent of these, Uranius Antoninus (253/254) is recognised on three of Shāpūr’s triumphal reliefs. The present paper aims to re-examine these new hypotheses by considering numismatic materials, including a unique gold coin of Shāpūr which bears an image of the same topic accompanying a legend on its reverse.

PG „Silesia” stosując eksploatację pokładów ścianami od pola, od kilku lat doskonali technikę drążenia i zabezpieczenia wyrobisk podścianowych w aspekcie ich utrzymywania za frontem eksploatacji. Artykuł przedstawia najnowsze doświadczenia PG „Silesia” w zakresie wdrożenia technologii drążenia wyrobisk przygotowawczych wysoko wydajnym przodkiem z wykorzystaniem kombajnu MR340X-Ex/201. W drążonym chodniku podścianowym zastosowano kotwienie skał stropowych bezpośrednio w przodku. Ponadto zastosowano wykładkę mechaniczną, przykotwienie łuków stropnicowych kotwiami strunowymi iniekcyjnymi oraz nowoczesny system transportu przodkowego i odstawy urobku. Artykuł krótko charakteryzuje zastosowane technologie oraz prezentuje rezultaty drążenia chodnika.
PG “Silesia” performs exploitation of coal seams by means of longwall panels from the field. In recent years the technique of driving and support of maingate and tailgate in terms of their maintenance behind the front of exploitation has been improved. This paper presents the latest experiences of PG “Silesia” in the field of implementation of preparatory excavations technology through a high-productive forehead by use of the mining roadheader MR340X-Ex/201. In the process of driving a roadway directly in the face, roof rock bolts were used. Moreover, the mechanical lining, bolting of arch yielding support by means of injection strings, modern system of forehead transport and haulage of output were used. The paper briefly characterizes the applied technologies and presents the results of roadway driving.
