Opis:: Die Autorin thematisiert Dilemmata eines Linguisten, mit denen er in der Textsorten- und Gattungsforschung konfrontiert wird. Als Grundvoraussetzung erweist sich, eine bestimmte (methodologische) Forschungshaltung einzunehmen, also zu entscheiden, ob man den separatistischen oder den integrativen Ansätzen folgt. Ein weiteres, damit eng zusammenhängendes Problem, ist die Frage des Untersuchungsobjekts, und zwar dessen Erfassung und Nomination (Textsorte/Textgattung, Texttyp). Die Autorin schlägt vor, diese Aspekte im Rahmen der allgemeintheoretischen, beschreibenden, historischen, praktischen sowie kognitiven Text- und Gattungsforschung zu diskutieren. Die Textsorten- und Gattungsforschung ist als philologische Disziplin anzusehen, die sich gegenüber anderen geisteswissenschaftlichen Disziplinen öffnet muss.

Opis:: In dem Beitrag soll das Konzept des multikodalen Textes kritisch betrachtet werden. Auch wenn es eher unbestreitbar ist, dass sprachliche Texte nur selten ohne Begleitung nicht-sprachlicher Zeichen auftreten, erweist es sich als umstritten, ob die Texte wirklich multikodal sind oder eher als sprachliche Komponenten in multikodalen Kommunikaten vorkommen. Bei der Annahme des erweiterten multikodalen Text-Begriffs wird die Linguistik mit der Notwendigkeit konfrontiert, das neue und unbekannte Gebiet des Nicht-Sprachlichen mit dem Instrumentarium zu erforschen, das für sprachliche Phänomene entwickelt worden ist. Den daraus resultierenden methodologischen Problemen wird im Rahmen des Beitrags nachgegangen.

Opis:: This article analyses the standards of textuality (according to Beaugrande & Dressler 1981) of the Danish funerary inscriptions. The basis of the test is a corpus of 250 grave inscriptions arising in the period 1770-2003 from Copenhagen cemetery Assistens Kirkegård. The first part of the paper bases on the seven criteria of textuality: cohesion, coherence, intentionality, acceptability, informativity, situationality, and intertextuality. In the second part the study focuses on illocutionary structure and communicative functions and leads to the conclusion that the examined speech genre includes the most of the illocutionary speech acts: assertives, commissives, expressives and directives.

Opis:: Das Hauptanliegen des Beitrags ist eine diskurslinguistische Analyse des Bühnenstücks „Krieg“ von Rainald Goetz mit dem Ziel, das emergente – also sich aus Interaktion und nicht nur aus der Summe der Elemente ergebende – Bild des Krieges zu rekonstruieren. Ein wesentlicher Faktor sind dabei Emotionen, die der Sprache der Figuren innewohnen, und die sprachlichen Routinen, die auch von affektiver Bewertung der Sachverhalte zeugen. Die Methode der Untersuchung ist das DIMEAN-Modell von Warnke/Spitzmüller (2008) sowie die von Halliday (1971) formulierten Richtlinien für die Herangehensweise an die Untersuchung literarischer Texte.
The aim of the paper is a linguistic discourse analysis of the drama “Krieg” [War] by Rainald Goetz with the purpose of a reconstruction of the emergent picture of war. An important factor in this process are the emotions inherent in the language of the characters, as well as linguistic routines, which also reveal information pertinent to the affective judgement of the situation. The method of analysis is the linguistic multi-level analysis model (DIMEAN) formulated by Warnke/Spitzmüller (2008) and the guidelines for analysis of literary texts as postulated by Halliday (1971).
Tekst stanowi prezentację lingwistycznej analizy dramatu Rainalda Goetza „Krieg” [Wojna], której celem jest rekonstrukcja emergentnego obrazu wojny. Ważnym czynnikiem są tutaj emocje obecne w języku postaci, a także zrutynizowane zachowania językowe, również świadczące o afektywnej ocenie sytuacji. Jako metoda badawcza wybrany został model wielopoziomowej analizy dyskursu (DIMEAN) sformułowany przez Warnkego i Spitzmüllera (2008) oraz postulowane przez Hallidaya (1971) wskazówki dotyczące badania tekstów literackich.

Opis:: School textbooks have rarely been examined by text linguistics up to now, yet they appear particularly interesting from the perspective of contrastive studies. As an important element in societies’ education systems, textbooks are interrelated with many other texts (from curricula to examinations) and, in certain countries, have to be licensed by governmental authorities. Textbooks are not genres in the strict sense. Rather, they represent a complex multimedia ensemble of different modules, and in many cases their coherent sense may be reconstructed only in classroom work. This paper uses history textbooks (chapters on the Russian Revolution) as examples to demonstrate such particularities, taking into account bi- and multi-national projects. An explorative study of school textbooks used in England, France, Germany, as well as German- and French-speaking Switzerland presents different levels of analysis (covering content and form) and shows considerable variations not only across, but also within nations and linguistic areas.
Schulbücher haben bislang in der Textlinguistik wenig Interesse gefunden, stellen aber gerade für kontrastive Studien einen besonders aufschlussreichen Gegenstand dar: Sie stellen ein Element im Erziehungssystem der Gesellschaft dar, sind mit vielen anderen Texten vernetzt (von Lehrplänen bis zu Prüfungen) und unterliegen in bestimmten Ländern direkter staatlicher Kontrolle. Es handelt sich nicht um eine Textsorte im engen Sinne, sondern um einen komplexen und multimedialen Verbund verschiedener Bausteine, aus denen teilweise erst im Unterricht ein kohärentes Ganzes rekonstruiert werden kann. Der Beitrag stellt diese Zusammenhänge am Beispiel von Lehrwerken für den Geschichtsunterricht vor und bezieht dabei auch bi- und multinationale Projekte ein. Eine Untersuchung von Lehrwerken (Kapitel zur Russischen Revolution) für England, Frankreich, Deutschland und die deutsch- und französischsprachige Schweiz stellt Analysemöglichkeiten auf verschiedenen Ebenen (inhaltlich und formal) vor und zeigt, dass mit relativ großer Varianz der Lehrmittelgestaltung nicht nur zwischen, sondern auch innerhalb von Nationen und Sprachräumen zu rechnen ist.

Opis:: The subject of this publication is to investigate the power of words in a text and language in the context of evaluation. The author focuses on emphasizing the role of evaluation in the text and the relationship between the evaluation process and accompanying and/or resultant emotions. The evaluative language measures applied in the text under analysis are addressed on the basis of the strongly emotional German language of the National Socialism era. The paper pays particular attention to the influence of emotions, emotionally influenced language and the socio-cultural context on the recipient and his/her mental responses as well as his/her verbal and physical actions. Actions implemented through the text are perceived here through the prism of universal values, as well as through the prism of specific evaluative methods relevant to the applied evaluative language means.
Das Thema der Publikation ist es, die Macht der Worte im Text und in der Sprache im Kontext der Bewertung zu schildern und zu kommentieren. Die Autorin konzentrierte sich darauf, die Rolle der Bewertung im Text zu betonen sowie die Zusammenhänge zwischen dem Bewertungsprozess und Emotionen, die ihn begleiten oder dessen Ergebnis sie sind, aufzuzeigen. Die im Text vorgestellten Sprachbewertungsmaßnahmen werden auf der Grundlage der stark emotional geprägten Sprache der NS-Zeit in Deutschland diskutiert. Eine besondere Rolle in der Publikation spielt der Einfluss von Emotionen, emotional geprägter Sprache sowie soziokulturellem Kontext auf den Empfänger und seine mentalen Reaktionen sowie seine verbalen und physischen Handlungen. Die durch den Text implementierten Handlungen werden hier durch das Prisma der Werte in einem universellen Kontext verstanden sowie durch das Prisma spezifischer Bewertungsmethoden wahrgenommen, die unter Verwendung der beschriebenen sprachlichen Bewertungsmittel implementiert werden.

Opis:: Da unter Forschern bemängelt wird, dass es an diachronischen empirischen Untersuchungen zu einzelnen Textsorten fehlt, versucht die vorliegende Analyse diese Lücke zu füllen. Die Wahl fiel dabei auf die Anfänge von verschriftlichten Testamenten. Die Autorin orientiert sich an dem unter Sprachhistorikern gängigen Diktum, dass Sprachgeschichte auch Textsortengeschichte ist. Dabei wählte sie als Untersuchungskorpus Quellenmaterial aus Breslau aus, das sie selbst erhob und transliterierte. Ausgegangen wurde vom geschichtlichen Hintergrund und den anschließenden Eintragungen testamentarischer Texte in die Stadt- und Kopialbücher. Dabei wurden vier Beschreibungsebenen festgelegt. Auf diesen Ebenen wurde auch das Untersuchungsmaterial aus Breslau analysiert. Im vorliegenden Artikel werden die Breslauer mittelalterlichen Bürgertestamente unter den Aspekten einer textlinguistischen Beschreibung behandelt, wobei sich vor allem zwei Ebenen – die axiologisch-ontische und die stilistische – im Vergleich zu der heutigen mentalen Vorstellung eines Testaments unterscheiden. Der Beitrag versteht sich auch als Einladung, weiterführende Untersuchungen in Bezug auf die Textsorte in ihrer Diachronie zu unternehmen, da ihr Gewinn für die Linguistik nicht zu unterschätzen ist.
Scientists often criticize there are not enough diachronical empirical investigations about sorts of texts. The analysis I did, is trying to close this gap. The choose was falling on the beginning of testaments when they wrote down. I’m geared at the dictum of linguists, that the history of language is at the same time the history of sort of texts. The corpus of my investigation includes material I found by my own. I also transliterated it. Already in further time I analyzed the linguistic structure of testaments of citizens in Krakow. These investigations were very successful. Therefore, I wanted to use the same method for testaments of citizens in Breslau. I started with the historical background and the registration of testamentery texts in the so called “Stadtbuch” (registry of town). I explained four levels of description. The same method I used for the investigation of the last will of the citizens of Breslau. In this present paper I give attention on text-linguistical aspects. But there is one difference between two levels: the axiological-ontological and the stylistic level – compared to the contemporary conception of a testament. My contribution can also understand as an invitation for forthcoming investigations of the diachronic of such sorts of texts. The benefit for the subject linguistic shouldn’t underestimate.

Opis:: Eine besondere Stelle, nicht nur im Rahmen der sprachwissenschaftlichen Forschungen, sondern auch in anderen Forschungsgebieten, wird durch Erscheinungen rund um Humor eingenommen. Im Projekt wird darauf hingearbeitet, Strategien und Mechanismen zur Humorerzeugung in deutschen und britischen Panel-Shows zu ermitteln. Mündliche spontan geäußerte Texte sind bislang nicht hinreichend untersucht worden. Das Wesen der Komödie hat seinen Ursprung in der Wahrnehmung von inkongruenten Elementen, welche die Struktur oder den Inhalt eines humoristischen Aktes ausmachen. Fokus wird auf die Darstellung dessen gelegt, wie humoristische Inhalte geschaffen werden. Die Erläuterungen basieren auf den pragmalinguistischen Konzepten und GTVH, wobei eine Erweiterung durch Ansätze der kognitiven Linguistik durchaus möglich ist. Ins Forschungsfeld werden sowohl axiologische Erkenntnisse als auch kulturelle Hintergründe miteinbezogen. Die Analyse wurde dank Videoclips durchgeführt, die deutschen und britischen Panel-Shows entnommen worden sind. Es ermöglichte, eine komparative Grundlage zu schaffen, um sprachlich-kulturelle Erkenntnisse zu gewinnen. Die gesammelten Einsichten sind dabei äußerst behilflich, Unterschiede zwischen den verglichenen Programmen desselben Genres offenzulegen.
A special place among the research conducted in the field of linguistics, but also other scientific disciplines, is occupied by the broadly understood issues of humour. The aim of the project is primarily to show ways and mechanisms of generating humorous effects in German and British panel shows. Spoken spontaneous humorous utterances have not undergone sufficient studies. The existence of comedy has its origin in the noticing of inconsistent elements constituting structure or content of a comical act. Emphasis has been put on presenting how humorous content is constructed. The explanations were delivered thanks to pragmalinguistic theories and GTVH. There is possibility to include methods used in cognitive linguistics as well. In the research field remain axiological elements as well as the cultural background. The compilation consisting from video clips from both- German and British panel shows, allowed the creation of a comparative base to reach linguistic and cultural conclusions revealing differences and similarities between the compared programmes of the same type that were produced in different countries.

Opis:: Vor uber 10 Jahren sind Arztbewertungsportale als ein neues mit Medizin zusammenhangendes Angebot im Internet entstanden. Seit dieser Zeit entwickeln sie sich dynamisch und werden langsam zu einem etablierten Marketinginstrument in der medizinischen Branche. In diesem Beitrag werden Arzte-Profile auf Arztbewertungsportalen als Vorstellungstexte aus textlinguistischer Sicht analysiert. Mit einem Modell textlinguistischer Beschreibung werden sie als Textsorte charakterisiert, indem auf ihre konstitutiven Merkmale auf verschiedenen Ebenen hingewiesen wird.
Over 10 years ago, physician rating portals emerged as a new medicine-related offer on the Internet. Since then, they have been developing dynamically and gradually have became an established marketing tool in the medical industry. In this article, physician profiles on physician rating portals as introductory texts are analyzed from a linguistic point of view. Using a model of textual linguistic description, they are characterized as a type of text by pointing out their constitutive features at different levels.

Opis:: Im Artikel wird am Beispiel von LeserInnenkommentaren im Schweizer Online-Newsportal watson.ch der Frage nachgegangen, inwiefern sich bei Online-Communities Merkmale von traditionaler Vergemeinschaftung (sensu Max Weber) nachzeichnen lassen und ob sich das Konzept der Diskursgemeinschaft(en) damit in Verbindung bringen lässt. Dafür wird der Begriff der Diskursgemeinschaft zunächst im widersprüchlichen Spannungsfeld zwischen sprach- und sozialwissenschaftlichen Gemeinschaftsverständnissen verortet. Anschliessend wird anhand ausgewählter Kommentare untersucht, wie sich klassische Vergemeinschaftungsmerkmale in Kommentarforen auf empirischer Ebene manifestieren. Abschliessend wird ein Lösungsvorschlag skizziert, wie die Systemtheorie nach Niklas Luhmann die Aporien zwischen verschiedenen on- und offline Vergemeinschaftungsformen überbrücken und damit einen integrativen Rahmen für die konfligierenden Gemeinschaftsverständnisse der klassischen Soziologie und der Diskursanalyse anbieten kann.
Using examples from comment sections in the Swiss online news site watson.ch, we investigate the question whether such online reader communities show traces of communal relationships (in the sense of Max Weber) and if such an understanding is compatible with the concept of discourse communities. To this end, we first outline the conflicting theoretical assumptions that linguistic and sociological understandings of communities imply for the concept of discourse communities. Afterwards, we use selected online reader comments to show how traditional features of community formation can be detected empirically in the comment section. To conclude, we argue that Niklas Luhmann’s systems theory can serve as a framework to integrate different types of community formation processes on an empirical and a theoretical level.
