Opis:
At the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSSs) dominated navigation in air, sea, and land. Then, medium-range and long-range terrestrial navigation systems (TNSs) ceased to be developed. However, with the development of GNSS jamming and spoofing techniques, the TNSs are being re-developed, such as the Enhanced Loran. The Polish Ministry of Defense plans to develop and implement a medium-range backup navigation system for the Polish Navy which will operate in the Baltic coastal zone. This plan is a part of the global trend. This paper presents the concept of a reserve TNS (RNS) that is based on the signal Doppler frequency (SDF) location method. In 2016, the concept of the RNS, which is based on stationary radio beacons located on coastal lighthouses, has been presented. From the military viewpoint, the use of the mobile radio beacons, which may change their location, is more justified. Therefore, the paper presents an idea of using the mobile beacons for this purpose. In this paper, effectiveness of the mobile RNS is shown based on simulation studies.

Opis:
The usefulness for all sea users of Satellite Navigation Systems (SNS), Satellite Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) and Automatic Identification System (AIS) is well known. The possibility, actual and future, of the utilization of all these systems on European inland waterways, GPS augmented by IALA DGPS reference stations, GPS augmented by European SBAS – EGNOS from direct Signal–in–Space (SIS) and GPS augmented by EGNOS from re–transmission over AIS, is presented in this paper. The operational systems, such as the German network IALA DGPS and DoRIS, and planned system such as GALEWAT, MARGAL, MUTIS and MARUSE are described also.

Opis:
This paper presents ideas for creating and developing Interactive Navigational Structures (IANS) by using satellite systems. The author of the present paper introduced the concept of IANS into the literature in 2004 (Czaplewski, 2004). The paper presents the possibility of adapting the contemporary methods of robust estimation that are used in geodesy for the purpose of performing selected marine navigation tasks. IANS utilise modern M-estimation methods. Interactive structures can assist human beings in carrying out special tasks at sea, for example, in identifying objects at sea and on land without the need to approach them. Moreover, these structures can also be used in the process of navigation carried out by underwater vehicles or unmanned watercraft. This paper presents the mathematical methods that are essential for creating IANS. The theoretical assumptions are illustrated with an example of how IANS can be used while performing a typical navigation task. The paper closes with information about research studies which deal with the practical aspects of using this set of mathematical methods.
