El objetivo de este trabajo es explorar la construcción de identidades masculinas entre adolescentes mexicanos que han cruzado, de forma indocumentada, a estados Unidos. Basándonos en observaciones y entrevistas realizadas a adolescentes que han sido repatriados por la frontera entre Matamoros, tamaulipas y Brownsville, texas, al noreste de México y sur de texas, respectivamente, se exploran las experiencias migratorias de éstos. Por un lado, analizo las formas de socialización y emigración masculina que viven los adolescentes en sus comunidades de origen, por otro lado, la experiencia de viajar a la frontera y cruzarla de forma indocumentada, viviendo diferentes riesgos, y, finalmente, la repatriación que tuvieron por parte de agentes de la Patrulla Fronteriza. tomando como punto de partida teórico que los adolescentes viven tanto un aprendizaje como una mística de la masculinidad, se plantea que la experiencia migratoria de México a estados Unidos los somete a un proceso en el que refuerzan y redefinen significados sobre ser un hombre o llegar a serlo.

Aim. The aim of the research is: theoretical investigation of the problem of patriotism and its urgency, the empirical research for defining the level of perception of the concept “patriotism” by teenagers in Latvia. Methodology of the research. The theoretical basis of the research includes theoretical analysis of various conceptual approaches to understanding of the phenomenon of patriotism in the philosophical aspect, as well as official documents of the European Union and the Republic of Latvia: documents of the Republic of Latvia (the preamble to the main law of the Latvian Republic – the Constitution; National Development Plan of Latvia for 2014-2020; Guidelines for the Development of Education for 2014-2020; Guidelines on national identity, civil society and integration policy 2012-2018); documents of international organisations (United Nations International Children’s Fund; European Commission; the EU Strategy for Youth – Investing and Empowering; Universal Declaration of Human Rights). The Empirical methods of the research: methods of data acquisition: a questionnaire (anonymous); methods of data processing and analysis: quantitative data processing with methods of mathematical analysis of statistical data and forecasting analytical methods in data processing software Microsoft Office Excel 2010 and SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 18.0 version; qualitative data processing (analysis of the content, coding and processing of the acquired data); interpretation of quantitative and qualitative. Results. The theoretical analysis makes it possible to conclude that the main idea of the concept patriotism consists in considering it as one of the highest values of the individual and is the basis of life orientations, defining the strategy of the individual’s development, harmonisation of the society and the state. The main approaches for investigation of the concept of patriotism are: sensitively emotional, active and publically national.

The use of violent video-games among teenagers is becoming undisputed. The goal of this study is identifying the video-game typology played by teenagers in two most important High Schools in the two most important cities of Albania and present the effect of this video-games. There were twenty-six participants in this study, all students in the tenth grade.  Of these selected students, sixteen were boys and ten were girls. For selecting the participants in the study, it was used the accidental sampling method and for the data collection it was used the semi-structured interviews. Thematic analysis is used to analyze the data collected.  One of the most interesting findings of this study is that the use of violent video-games can cause a remodeling in teenager’s behavior, accompanied by a psychological vitality, which in many cases could be negative, especially when this experience is direct. The study doesn’t have a generalizing character.

In autumn 1980 Swiat Młodych, a newspaper addressed to teenagers, announced a competition called “MyWorld 80–81.” By early 1981 hundreds of letters had come in. This unique source of information allows us to get a glimpse of teenagers’ perception of the birth of the “Solidarity” movement. Thanks to these letters, we can take a closer look at school discussions, conversations at the family table or disputes during school intervals. Everyday life is also reflected in these letters: queues, crowded public transport, fatigue and uncertainty. The vast majority of the letter writers sympathised with “Solidarity” although the prospect of confrontation between the regime and the inchoate movement was a source of anxiety. The authorities were largely perceived as a degenerate oligarchy. The quoted letters are also a testimony of discovery of the past and withheld historical facts and also of the search for new authorities (e.g., Czesław Miłosz). The young generation’s declarations suggest that it wanted to participate in public life with previously unparalleled gusto. Martial law nipped this positive energy in the bud.

Introduction and objective. Poverty and low level of education pose the biggest threats to public health. Moreover, they generate inequalities in public healthThe aim of the study was to check if there are any inequalities in health among teenagers living in Bytom, Poland. Materials and method. In 2011 and 2012, an epidemiological cross-sectional study was conducted on 1,099 students from lower secondary schools from Bytom. The students completed a questionnaire which was based on an earlier Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study (HBSC). Socio-Economic Status of teenagers (SES) was determined according to the Family Affluence Scale (FAS), the intensity of possible problems in the place of residence and on parents’ education. Impact of SES on health self-assessment, asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis with addition to spinal deformities were also investigated. Results. A good or very good level of health was declared by students from families representing a high level of FAS and residing in a more peaceful, less troubled neighbourhood. The highest level of asthma prevalence (10.9%) occurred among students from families with a low level of FAS. The students from families with high FAS were less affected by spinal deformities (34.6%). Students living in a troubled neighbourhood more often suffered from bronchial asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis and spinal deformities. Conclusions. The level of family affluence depends on the parents’ education and all the analysed health problems occurred more frequently in children whose parents had completed at least general secondary education. A high economic standard of living and a peaceful neighbourhood determined good or very good health self-assessment among the surveyed students.

This study examines whether gender is a key factor when producing and uploading audio-visual content to this social network. The research has been carried out using content analysis methodology applied to a sample of 300 videos uploaded to YouTube by adolescents aged 11-17 years, which were collected and analysed during the state of emergency in Spain (13 March – 21 June of 2020) as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Contents uploaded by these YouTubers are amusing, and their topics differ significantly depending on the author’s gender. Boys focus mainly on playing games, while the range of topics among girls is more diverse. There are no significant differences in the way both genders approach the topic of COVID-19. Channels oriented toward girls are protected from comments their followers might make about them, whereas boys are more exposed to members of the public who view their audio-visual productions.

In this article, the author compares rank-ordered lists of nouns derived from three text corpora: from YA weekly Płomyk (Flame; six issues from the mid-1930s), from Świat Młodych (Youth’s World; six issues from the mid-1970s) and from modern YA magazines such as Bravo or Popcorn. Analysing these lists, one comes to a conclusion that, taking into consideration the main themes as well as presented values, family model and life ideals, a periodical from the mid-1970s is more similar to prewar Płomyk than to contemporary magazines for teenagers. Given this, the author states that educational strategies in the Communist and prewar times were much alike, whereas the strategies characteristic for the present era are totally different. The accuracy of this hypothesis should be verified in a more detailed research.

As social network sites are becoming more populated and users more diverse, impression management on these sites has become more complicated. Users face challenges as they attempt to perform a unified identity to a diverse audience. The article discusses some of the strategies Hungarian teenage users of Facebook apply to deal with this situation. Drawing on data coming from two focus group interviews and a representative survey (N = 612) with Hungarian secondary school students, strategies of selecting ‘friends’, curating posts, blocking and deleting ‘friends’ and creating double profiles on Facebook are discussed. It is concluded that there are significant differences in the use of these strategies according to different user groups as off-line inequalities influence online impression management in different ways.

Looking at the situation from a range of competencies, a school distinguished by communication, learning to learn skills and personal development. Having analyzed features of physical development of the teenagers in a zone of the radiation control and intensive agriculture, in comparison with the teenagers from ecologically clean regions, it is necessary to note, that the parameters of proportionality do not fall outside the limits of the established age norms. It is possible to explain their decrease (at the expense of reduction of weight in the majority examinees) by intensive growth of a skeleton in length and smaller rates of muscles development. We have not revealed essential differences of the parameters depending on the residence of the examinees. As to the adults, weight-growth parameters of the men from the zone of the radiation control exceed reference parameters (due to the greater height, weight and thorax measurements). All examinees of the control group and men, engaged in agrarian sector, belong to a normal type, and the women of the last group have the lowest weight and height parameters.

This study aims to determine the effect of the level of knowledge and perceptions and inter-personal communication of adolescents on violent behavior in dating relation-ships. This research uses quantitative research methods with a population of adolescents aged 15 to 20 years in Petukanangan Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta with a quota sample of 200 respondents. This study also uses theories and concepts related to adolescent perceptions, knowledge, interpersonal communication, and behavior. The results of this study found that there is an influence of knowledge variables, Interper-sonal Communication Variables and Perception Variables on violent behavior in courtship relationships, although linearity does not mean that if knowledge is high about values and norms then violence on dating relationships will be low, if interper-sonal communication is high then violent behavior low, but if perceptions are high then violent behavior is also high meaning personal and situational perceptions influ-ence violent behavior in dating relationships. Niniejsze badanie ma na celu określenie wpływu poziomu wiedzy i spostrzeżeń oraz komunikacji międzyludzkiej nastolatków na gwałtowne zachowania w związkach randkowych. W badaniach wykorzystano metody badań ilościowych z populacją nastolatków w wieku od 15 do 20 lat w Petukangan Kebayoran Lama, Dżakarta Południowa, z próbą kwotową 200 respondentów. W badaniu wykorzystano również teorie i pojęcia związane z percepcją nastolatków, wiedzą, komunikacją interpersonalną i zachowaniem. Wyniki tego badania wykazały, że wpływ zmiennych wiedzy, interpersonalnych zmiennych komunikacyjnych i zmiennych percepcyjnych na zachowanie agresywne w stosunkach zalotów jest liniowy, chociaż liniowość nie oznacza, że jeśli wiedza o wartościach i normach jest duża, to przemoc w relacjach randkowych będzie niska , jeśli komunikacja interpersonalna jest wysoka, wówczas zachowania związane z przemocą są niskie, ale jeśli percepcja jest wysoka, wówczas zachowania agresywne są również wysokie, co oznacza, że osobiste i sytuacyjne postrzeganie wpływają na zachowanie agresywne w relacjach randkowych. The present work discusses results concerning sound perception obtained in a pitch memorization experiment for blind and visually impaired subjects (children and teenagers). Listeners were divided into two age groups: 7–13 year olds and 14–18 year olds. The study tested 20 individuals (8 congenitally blind and 12 visually impaired) and 20 sighted persons comprising reference groups. The duration of the experiments was as short as possible due to the fact that our listeners were children. To date, no study has described results of such experiment for blind/visually handicapped children and teenagers. In the pitch memory experiment blind teenagers outperformed blind children and both age groups of visually impaired subjects in two out of three tested cases. These results may have implications for the development of auditory training in orientation and mobility of young visually handicapped people.

The massive use of social media, especially Facebook, has an impact on student’s neurocognitive performance and mental health in Morocco. The purpose of this study is to show the impact of the Facebook addiction, especially with Smartphone on school performance and mental health. On the methodological part a questionnaire was used beside the Bergan Facebook Addiction Scale Test (BFAS) which has been validated in the Arab version with Cronbach's Alpha (α = 0.788), and the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q) Arabic version, with a general anxiety test, which are distributed to 541 participants in the middle and the high schools of Kenitra city 55.1% of girls and 44.9% of boys have a mean age of 15.238 years, SD = ± 0.06. The results obtained confirmed by a negative correlation in relationship with the first semester general score and Facebook addiction by the BFAS test, and a significant relationship between the increase in Facebook addiction in parallel with the state of anxiety (P <.001) and Nomophobia (P <.000). We have been able to pick up the negative impact of the social media exposure on the performance and mental health of adolescent students. in order to have a solution from this plague in the future.

Purpose: Stress is inseparable part of life. It is an occurrence which influes on individual life, both on health and family and social aspects. Stress is apply to everyone, independently on age, so important is recognition main stressors and ways of copy with stress, especially on young people, and that was the purpose of questionnaire research during music festivals. Method: Author’s questionnaire. We researched 1131 visitors music festivals: Festival name R.Riedla bad Przystanek Woodstock. 45% of them were women and 55% men; medium age +/ – 20 years. Results: Researched people declared their level of stress on 3-4 points in 6-points scale. 2/3 of them claimed that surroundings is a couse of stress. 2/3 young people said that their knowledge about stress is not enough, and only 2% of them use specialized help. In difficult life situations, if they want to cut down their level of stress, they the most often use alcohol. Conclusion: Knowledge about stress is not enough. Women and men have different ways of copy with stress. The most often young people exert passive methods of liquidate everyday difficulties.

Artykuł prezentuje wyniki Ogólnopolskiej diagnozy problemu przemocy wobec dzieci ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zjawiska multiwiktymizacji. Połowa badanych nastolatków w ciągu całego swojego życia doznała więcej niż jednej spośród 22 badanych form przemocy. Osoby, które doświadczyły w całym swoim życiu co najmniej sześciu form wiktymizacji (10%) oraz ci, którzy doświadczyli w ciągu 12 miesięcy poprzedzających badanie co najmniej czterech form wiktymizacji (8%) to multiofiary. Najczęściej doświadczane formy krzywdzenia przez multiofiary to przemoc fizyczna ze strony rówieśników (91%), przemocy psychiczna ze strony dorosłych (76%) oraz przemocy fizyczna ze strony dorosłych (71%). Multiwiktymizacja nieco częściej dotykała chłopców niż dziewczyny. Starsze nastolatki częściej doświadczały multiwiktymizacji w ciągu całego życia, co wynika z faktu gromadzenia z każdym rokiem nowych doświadczeń wiktymizacyjnych.
The article presents the results of the National Survey of Child and Youth Victimization in Poland with a particular focus on the phenomenon of polyvictimization. The half (50%) of teens in their lifetime has suffered more than one of the 22 forms of violence. Respondents (10%) who have experienced at least 6 forms of lifetime victimization and those (8%) who have experienced at least 4 forms of past-year victimization are polyvictims. Logistic regression showed that child who has experienced one out of 4 categories of victimization is exposed 2-5 times more to other categories of abuse. The most experienced forms of child abuse among polyvictims were: physical abuse by peers (91%), physical abuse by adults (76%) and psychological abuse by adults. Polivictims were more often boys than girls. Older teenagers were more likely to experience pastyear polyvivtimization due to the fact of gathering new victimization experiences with each passing year.
